How To Nail Your Niche in Under 13 Minutes!

A short, practical YouTube training by Richmond Dinh (the “coach’s coach”) teaching coaches how to choose a profitable, congruent niche. The video argues niching clarifies marketing and increases authority and income, rebuts the idea that broad labels (life/mindset/business coaching) are sufficient, and presents a simple framework: (1) choose a category (health, wealth, relationships), (2) ensure personal congruency, (3) verify people will pay (charging), and (4) a third criterion introduced later in the video. The host references personal experience (earning $500k early as a life coach), examples of famous non-niche coaches, and an accompanying worksheet for hands-on work.

Hey there and welcome to your exclusive nail your niche training video. I'm Richmond Dinn, they call me the coach's coach. And I'm really humbled by your trust in me today to help you nail your niche. Now this is going to be the pivoting point of your career as a coach. In fact, it is the most crucial decision that you need to make to become a successful six figure coach. Because the reality is if you're pushing hard on content, you, you're hustling at networking events, you're pumping ads, but you don't have a clear message, you don't have a clear niche, that's all going to fail. Now, after personally coaching hundreds and hundreds and hundreds either through my one on one coaching, my group coaching, or my live bootcamp events, what I know is that this is the area that coaches get most stuck on. And this is why I created an exclusive training video for you. Because I want you to get a head start on every other coach out there. Because the reality is, and no other coach will tell you this, that it is a saturated market, it is a red ocean. And by defining a niche, that's gonna be the first point for you moving out of that red ocean and into a blue ocean. So before we even begin, let's talk about why niching. First of all, you need to niche because marketing becomes clearer, posting content becomes easier, messaging becomes sharper and you make more money, you get better client results and you become the expert in your space. Now I know there's some limiting beliefs and around niching that if I niche then I'm going to narrow myself down to a corner of the market and hence there'll be less people, less money, less people buy. And I get that. I had that same problem. And I see coaches face that same limiting belief all the time. I want you to think of it this way. If you've ever been to a doctor before, like a general practitioner, because you had some sort of cold or flu or surface level problem and you went there and they realized that it wasn't actually that problem and it was actually more serious, serious. And then that doctor had to refer you to a specialist. Now you would have noticed that if you go to a specialist, which is a niche, that specialist will not only be booked out more in advance, they'll charge more and they're better at what they do and you have to wait longer in the waiting room. But that market there is smaller than a general practitioner, but they get to charge more, they're better at what they do and you have to wait longer for their services. Think about it like that when it comes to niching. So let's get out of the framework that if you niche, you're gonna have less clients. If you niche, you'll actually be busier. Because like I said before, we're gonna move out of a red ocean, which is a lot of competition, and into a blue ocean, which is much less competition. Now, the consequences of not niching is that your messaging is vague. People don't really know what you do. You struggle to explain who you really serve. You'll make less money, and it'll be really hard for you to make it as a coach. Now, if you don't niche, you'll also find yourself in the 96% of coaches who don't. Now, I also want to set the record straight. Life coaching, motivational coaching, business coaching, inspirational coaching, mindset coaching, all those sort of things, transformational coaching, they are not niches. But does that mean you can't make it as a life coach? No. Tony Robbins is the most famous life coach on the planet. Then we also have Brendon Burchard, the most famous high performance coach on the planet. These guys have worked with Oprah, presidents, celebrities, billionaires, the most successful people on the planet. And they don't have a niche. But here's the thing. They didn't start out that way. You see them as successful now, but they didn't start out with those clients. They didn't start out with that celebrity branding. And neither did I. I actually started out as a life coach. In the first two years, I made $500,000 and as a life coach, which is not a niche. So if you want to stick to life coaching or transformational coaching or mindset coaching or one of those categories, then I would highly suggest that you pick a core emotion that you resolve or a core emotion that you help people get. I'll give you an example. When I was a life coach, I was helping people with one core emotion. I was helping them develop confidence. So you could be the expert life coach that helps people develop confidence. Confidence. Or you could be the expert mindset coach that helps people develop courage. Or you could be the expert transformational coach that helps people develop their identity. So pick that one core thing, that one core specific emotion that you work with if you want to stick to life coaching. But if you want to move forward quicker and faster, then you need to niche down. And this training video is going to give you a simple framework on how to niche down, how to decide your niche, and how to move forward with absolute clarity and certainty on who you're going to serve. So let's do this.
The first thing you need to understand is that there's three categories of niches. I'm going to draw three circles.
There is health, wealth and relationships. So in the health category, it might be helping people lose weight with their diet, with wellness and fitness. With the relationship category, it might be helping people find their ideal partner. It might be leadership, it might be training your staff. In the wealth category, it might be helping people make more money through forex trading, through share trading, or like, what I do is helping coaches get to six figures. So you need to decide which category you're going to move into first. Is it going to be health, wealth or relationships? That's step number one. Oh, and by the way, I should have told you this before. Accompanying this exclusive training is your exclusive worksheet that you should have downloaded, printed it out and work with it with this training video. So the next step, after deciding which category you're going to move into, we then move on to step number two and we need to follow this next process. So you've decided wealth, health or relationships. And the most important thing when you decide in your niche is this magic word.
Called congruency. Congruency is everything. And that's why if you flick through my personal page, the first thing I say on my credentials is I practice what I preach. Personal congruency is king. You need to pick a niche which you're congruent in, which you have a personal track record, in which you have personal results in. You cannot teach someone something that you have not got a result in your own life first. I didn't get to my first $500,000 as a coach by teaching coaches how to get there. I got there as a life coach and I taught coaches how I did it through my marketing, through my branding, through my content, through my sales process, everything. And that's how I built up a successful coaching business, because I picked a niche that I was congruent in. So if you're in the health category and you want to help people lose weight, make sure you pick something that you're congruent in. Make sure you're not picking a niche where you're helping people lose weight, but you might be 50 kilos overweight, or if you're in the relationship category and you're helping people find their ideal partner, but you've been single and been in and out of bad relationships for the last 10 years, probably not a good niche to move into or if you're in the wealth category and helping people make more money but you're broke as broke, probably not a good niche for you to move into. Personal congruency is key. Pick something that you're congruent in. Now, the second most important part when deciding on your niche is this.
It's called charging. Once you decide on that thing that you're congruent in, you need to ask yourself, can you charge for it? More importantly, are other people paying for that coaching in this space? So if it's a new niche and it's so peculiar and no one's paying for it, or they're paying a very low amount for it, you need to question yourself, can you actually make a viable business out of this? So look at other people in that space. Are other people getting coaching in there? And more importantly, are they paying a premium for that service? Because you need to be able to charge for it. Because you're not doing this for free. Although if you had all the money in the world, you probably would do it for free for the rest of your life because this is your passion. You found something that really fulfills you. However, most people don't have that luxury and they need to be able to support themselves and their families and their community. So find a niche that you can charge for it. Now the third and most important, I'll reiterate this, this is the most important part when deciding on your niche.
You need to be able to care for them. And that means you must enjoy working with that ideal client. You must really have your heart in the right place. So if you're in it for the money and you can grow it, but you don't care, you're not going to last long and people will feel feel that in you. So make sure you have a genuine desire to serve and to give and something that you really care about that's going to juice you every day because you don't want to wake up feeling like you have to work. In actual fact, the reason why you're watching this video, my guess is your current job, you're not fulfilled in, you're hating the 9 to 5 and you want to move something to more fulfilling, that's more passionate, it's more exciting and juices you every day. I don't have to wake up to do what I do. I. I don't have to find motivation because I love what I do because I care for my clients. So you need to find something that you really care for as well. So motivation is Not a problem anymore. So there you have it. These are my three Cs to finding the perfect niche, my three Cs to finding the perfect niche. So work on that in your worksheet that you've been given. Work on the congruency, work out whether you can charge for it, and more importantly, whether or not you care for that particular niche. So. So I'm going to give you five minutes. Just pause this video, five minutes to go through that worksheet and do it right now. Three, two, one, go. All right, welcome back. I trust that you paused the video, you went through the worksheet, and you did the work. If you didn't go back, do the work, please. This will only work if you do the work, so I trust that you do that. So let's move on to the next step. So from the. From the worksheet, you would have identified three potential niches that you might work with. If you only found one. Perfect. That's easy. That's easy to choose. You found your niche. Congratulations. If you got three or two, then you're going to move on to this next session here, and I'm going to help you decide on which one is going to be the best one for you. So let's just say you had niche number one, and you had niche number two, and you had niche number three, and you have three options that you're playing with. And then you're gonna ask yourself, which one are you congruent in? Which one can you charge in and which one do you care about? So niche one, you might say, yes, I'm really congruent in that one. Niche two, you might say, yes, I'm really congruent in that one. Niche three, you might say, yeah, I actually don't have the result in that one just yet. And you might cross it off like this. Then you look at the charging aspect of it. Niche one, can you charge for it? You say, yes, other people are paying lots of money for that. You say, perfect. Niche two, you might say, yes, a lot of people are paying for that as well. Niche three, you might say, yes, people pay tons and tons and tons of money for that niche there. You're like, yep, that's a big T. Then you go to the care part. On a scale of 0 to 10, how much do you care for this particular target market? 10 is like, you love them to death. You don't need to wake up to work for them. You. You just work with them for free every day of your life if you could. So niche one you might say, yeah, this is about a five out of ten. Niche two, you might say, wow, I love this ideal client so much. It's like a 10 out of 10 for me. Niche three, you might say, yeah, they're really cool. I like them so much. They're about a nine out of ten. Well, as you can see from this graph here, niche 2 is going to be your pick. You're congruent, you're, you can charge and you really care about them. That's how you pick your niche. Now, you might be wondering, what if I got two categories which are exactly the same? My suggestion for you is get a coin, flip it, pick one, go with it for three months and then if you don't like it, it's not resonating, then you can change your niche after that. But just pick one because if you don't and you sit on the fence between two niches for three months, I guarantee you're not going to move forward. So pick one. And if you don't move forward, you wouldn't have moved forward anyway. There is no loss. And then after three months, if you decide that wasn't for you, it didn't resonate, something wasn't right, then pick the other one and go for it. And you have your niche there. The worst thing you can do is not decide. And if you don't decide, you're never going to move forward. Well, there you go. I want to congratulate you for officially nailing your niche. Now, some of you might be thinking, yes, I got it, but it just doesn't feel quite right. It doesn't feel perfect. Well, promise you, it's never, ever going to be perfect. Anyway, what you find today will progress and get better and clearer and sharper as time progresses. It's all about progress, not perfection. And I promise, whatever you got now is much clearer and sharper than what you had when you walked into this training video. So progress, not perfection. Now, the reason why you're watching this video is because you would have registered for my live Friday free event.
