Richmond Dinh delivers a short personal monologue urging listeners (and himself) to prioritize their own lives over others' demands. He recounts having many unanswered messages and being a former people-pleaser, then distills the lesson: you must look after yourself first ("put on the oxygen mask first") because no one will care more about you than you. The message is framed as advice the speaker needs to hear himself.

If you don't prioritize your life, then somebody else will. And so this video is probably more for me than it is for anyone else watching this video. And I want to talk about priorities, because if I show you my phone right now, there are at least a dozen WhatsApp messages. There's probably a hundred unanswered messenger messages on my dm, and then there's emails I haven't responded to and maybe a couple of missed calls. And I'm okay with that. But I used to not be okay with that. I used to be always at the demand of other people, trying to take away my time and my attention because I was a pleaser. And I was so focused on making sure that everybody else was happy, but I was not. And I realized that the secret to helping other people become happy is to make sure you look after yourself first. You cannot save someone unless you put on the oxygen mask first. And so I'll say that again. If you don't prioritize your life, someone else will. And you're going to get to the end of this journey thinking, why did I not put myself first? Because at the end of the day, no one's going to care more about you than you.
