Richmond Dinh argues that reaching your first $100,000 is hardest because it requires you to see yourself as a six-figure earner. Once you've hit that mark a few times, the identity shift sticks. After that, more money is just about learning new skills or roles, not rewiring how you see yourself.

It is actually harder to help someone make $100,000 that's never made $100,000 in their life because they have to go through an identity shift. But when someone's been making $100,000, $150,000, $200,000, $250,000, $300,000, they're already used to it. They're past the identity shifts of being 6-figure earners. There just has to be identity shift in a different occupation, but it's not an identity shift required in the income. It's already standard for them to be making $200,000, $300,000, whatever that number is.
