This is a short motivational excerpt from Richmond Dinh's YouTube video "There's a Storm Coming Are You Prepared" (uploaded June 7, 2025). Dinh urges proactive preparation—"build the roof when the sun is shining"—using a John F. Kennedy quote, a ‘law of eventuality’ taught by Myron Goldin (long-term thinking wins), and a casino analogy (the house’s ~51% edge) to argue that doing the right long-term actions now stacks the odds in your favor.

The best time to prepare a roof is when the sun is shining. Famous quote by John F. Kennedy. It means that so many of us are so reactive to life and so reactive to the things we need to do in our business, that we don't prepare for the things that are going to matter most that's going to allow us to achieve success. And so we quite often wait for that little lump that grows on a thing, and then we get a cancer diagnosis, and before you know it, it is too little, too late. We need to prepare for the things that's going to make you successful. And one of the things I learned from Myron Goldin when I was on his jet was a law of eventuality. Eventuality saying that long term thinking wins. And so if we always do the things that are going to allow us to achieve success in the long term now, then we always be successful. For example, in the casino, the casino always wins because the house has a 51% chance of winning. And so how they win is they keep you in the casino for longer because they know that the longer you stay there, the more they're going to win. And so what we need to do to win the game of life and to win the game of eventuality is do the things that put the odds in our favor by doing all the things now and build the roof when the sun is shining.
