Why Decisiveness equals Greater Success

Successful people decide fast and change their minds rarely, which frees time for execution instead of endless deliberation. The speaker spent four months torn between Bitcoin and property investing before realizing the delay cost more than the wrong choice would have.
Chapters
Have you ever taken a long time to make a decision? I certainly have. In the highest selling wealth creation book of all time, Think and Grow rich, with over 100 million copies sold, it has a chapter dedicated on the power of decision making. Now, in that chapter it says that successful people make decisions quickly and change it less often, whereas less successful people take a long time to make decisions and change it more often. Now, when I first heard this, it confused me. It really did. Because I thought, well, hang on a sec. If you take a long time, if you take your time to make decisions, shouldn't you have a higher chance of getting it right and hence you'll be more successful? Whereas if you make decisions quickly, isn't there a high chance that you'll get it wrong and you'll be less successful? And I didn't really get this until recently. I finally made my decision whether I should stay in or stay out of bitcoin. You see, for the last four months, when I first heard about the craze, I've been having this doubt, this dance of shall I shan't, I will, I won't, I can, I can't, I'm in, I'm out, I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm left, I'm right. That whole dance for the last four months. And I realized that that is not only exhausting, but it wastes so much time. Now I've decided I'm going to stay out of bitcoin. Whether it goes up tenfold or goes to a million dollars, it doesn't matter. I'm at peace with that because had I made that decision four months ago, I would have been able to put all my time, my focus, my efforts and my energy and into doing what I do best, which is property. That's where I'm building my wealth. Now, even if I said yes to bitcoin four months ago, then I would have put all my time, my focus, my effort and my energy into making bitcoin work. For me, it didn't matter what decision I made. The point is, your efforts should be in the execution of that decision and not into making the decision itself, if you know what I mean. And that's when I got it. That's when I realized why successful people are more successful when they make decisions quickly and change it less often. Because all the time, the focus and the energy is put into making that decision work. Whereas less successful people put all the time, the focus and the energy into just coming to that decision.
So let me ask you a question. Is there a decision that you need to make in your life right now. A decision to buy that property, to get into Bitcoin, to join the gym. Maybe a decision to end that marriage. Or maybe to forgive someone. Or could be something like to say, I'm sorry. Whatever that decision is, I can assure you that the sooner and quicker you make that decision, the more successful you will be.
