Why do people settle for mediocrity? You see, this is the thing about success. Our brains are not wired to make us successful. Our brains are not wired to make us loads of money. Our brains are not even wired to make us happy. Our brains only wired for one thing and one thing only. And that's to look for what's wrong. To keep us safe, to keep us comfortable, to protect us from the angry, hungry tiger that's about to eat and kill us. So why do people settle for mediocrity? Well, because being mediocre is safe. Being mediocre is comfortable. It's what we know. It's what we're used to. And anytime you step outside that, your brain tells you that your life is at risk. And that means you got to stop. But to be great, to be amazing, to be outstanding, to be successful, you need to do the thing that makes you most fearful. You need to do the thing that makes you most uncomfortable. And. And you need to do the thing that you think you can't do, because that's where your growth lies. That's where your success lies. That's where your greatness lies. And I'm not saying that you shouldn't feel any fear or stress or worry or anxiety or doubt or anything like that. Hey, to this very day I still get nervous before I ran out on stage. But anytime you feel fear or stress or worry or doubt, you're forgetting the most important truth or of all, and that is how amazing you really are, how incredible you really are, how outstanding you really are, how brilliant you really are. But your brain forgets that because your brain doesn't want to remember all the times when you needed to push through fear because your brain is trying to keep you safe. But I can assure you, I can guarantee that if you look back and think back hard enough, you'll be able to remember multiple times in the past where you displayed greatness and brilliance and you've really stepped up and you've really, really shine. And I can assure you, the more you remember this truth, the richer, the deeper, the more meaningful, the more fulfilling life you have and the more successful you will be.
