In this solo podcast episode, the speaker announces a new, previously confidential offering that blends AI tools with personal coaching to help job seekers navigate the modern, system‑first hiring landscape. He explains that hiring has become heavily automated, with applications filtered by software and AI used on both sides of the process, making job searching feel harder despite candidates’ qualifications. The speaker outlines AI’s concrete strengths—rapid drafting, pattern recognition, keyword matching—and its critical weaknesses—lack of judgment, inability to capture personal voice, and risk of producing generic, flagged resumes. He warns against over‑reliance on AI, such as copy‑pasting AI‑generated content without personal review, which can dilute authenticity and reduce differentiation. To counter these issues, he proposes a coaching model where AI serves as an efficiency tool while a human coach provides discernment, storytelling guidance, emotional regulation, and strategic decision‑making. He details a step‑by‑step workflow: select one target job, extract key skills, rewrite the resume bullet‑by‑bullet, generate interview questions, and read the material aloud to ensure it sounds true. The episode emphasizes that job searching is both technical and emotional, involving self‑doubt, urgency, identity concerns, and financial stress, all of which coaching can address. At the end, he offers listeners a structured coaching series that integrates AI to accelerate progress while preserving the individual’s voice, values, and confidence.

I've got some super exciting news today that for the past 8 months I have not been able to talk about because of contractual agreements. And it's something— I think it's something that's going to really hit a lot of this audience and it's going to be super useful. Um, Yeah. And that's, and that's where I'm going to start this out at is, is just being excited about that. And by the way, it's, it's been fun to watch how this thing is growing, how, how, how the coaching is growing, how I've been growing, and just the good things that have been happening and the people that I'm coming into contact with. I've got a lot of stuff happening through the Cordy Gator Rice Scholarship. Got some other things that are going on, but man, this— This is really super cool. And that is, I want to talk about job searching today. I want to talk about how job searching and AI and resume writing and coaching all come together. And honestly, job searching feels much harder than it should. Not because you're unqualified, not because you're behind, but because the system has changed. And most people were never taught how to adapt, not adapt to it, but really taught to adapt. It is so different now. If you've been in a position where, let's say that you've been a senior leader or been in a senior management position or been in kind of an upper tier position and suddenly your job is gone, you're not going to find your job in the want ads. Job feels— job searching feels much harder than it should be. And a lot of it is because hiring has become so automated now. Applications are filtered by software. Now AI exists on both sides of the hiring process. Employers are using it. Job seekers are experimenting with it, not always getting it right. But they're experimenting with it, or they're using it just as a bare— as a replacement for Google, right? And there's a lot of people that are just quietly overwhelmed about it. And today I want to talk about a little bit about how to use AI without losing your voice, your values, or your confidence, and why tools alone are never the full solution. At the end, I'm going to make an offer to you. To get coaching on your career development, your career aspirations, your career growth, your moving to the next chapter. And in those coaching sessions together, you and I are going to use AI to optimize the ability to get into your next chapter. And honestly, you know, job searching feels It feels broken. Most people approach job searching like it's a personal referendum on their own worth. And every rejection feels like I wasn't good enough. I said the wrong thing. I missed something in the interview. I didn't put something on the resume. They asked me questions that I wasn't expecting. But the truth is a lot simpler. And it's a lot less personal. Job searching used to be human first, and now it's system first. That's just the way it is. And you can complain about it, you can cry about it, you can bitch about it, but now it's system first. And a majority of your companies, especially those of you who are in white-collar areas, Looking for that next growth, or maybe something's happened. You've left your other company, not on your choosing, but theirs. Whether that's a reduction of force, a layoff, you got fired. The truth is resumes are scanned before they're read. And keywords matter before conversations do. I'm sorry. That's the way it is. And speed oftentimes matters more than nuance. Honestly, AI didn't break job searching. What it did is it exposed how mechanical parts of it were already in play. And when people keep using old strategies in new systems, that's where the frustrations build. That frustration isn't failure, it's feedback. So let's talk about what AI can do and what it can't. Now, by the way, again, at the end, I'm going to offer out a coaching offer to you where I'm going to work with you as a coach, and together we're going to explore AI for your benefit. AI is good at a few specific things. It's good at drafting content quickly, recognizing patterns, rewriting language, matching keywords to job descriptions. And just that alone can save hours and reduce mental fatigue. But AI sucks at judgment. It's just not good at it. It doesn't know what matters most to you when something feels misaligned. It doesn't know why a career move makes sense emotionally. It doesn't know when a resume sounds impressive, but yet it's still hollow. And here's the problem that I see most often. People hand AI way too much control. when they're under pressure. They copy and paste without thinking. By the way, that will get you flagged. But they copy and paste without thinking. They submit polished documents that don't sound like them. They hope a tool is going to fix that uncertainty that actually requires clarity. You see, AI should assist your thinking, not replace it. If AI writes something that doesn't feel true, that discomfort matters. AI alone is not a competitive advantage. Again, AI is a tool. AI is a tool like Google is a tool, or when you're looking at a company, AI is a tool like you use Word or Docs or Sheets or Keynote or PowerPoint. AI-generated resumes are everywhere now and recruiters see them constantly. A lot of times the language is just too clean. The structure's correct and somehow all resumes sound the same and you don't stand out. AI alone, it doesn't differentiate you. And honestly, your edge, what you carry in there, is more than just wording. It's things like discernment, storytelling, self-awareness. Knowing what not to say as much as what to say. Again, that's where, that's where you and I are going to work. I'm going to work with you as your coach to be different than everybody else, to stand out. You see, AI levels the playing field. You don't need to be standing on a level playing field. You need to be standing out. You need the competitive advantage. And coaching is what helps you stand out on that field. Because once a resume gets you into conversations, there's a lot more that matters. Things like presence, confidence, clarity, decision-making under stress, adaptability. All those are human skills. And this is where coaching fits in. You see, job searching isn't just technical. It's emotional. And going through that process, man, there are so many triggers— self-doubt, urgency, fear of rejection, identity questions, financial stress. Those are things that we're going to work through in a coaching relationship. AI can help you organize your job search, but it can't regulate your nervous system. It can help you draft answers, but it can't help you decide what kind of life you're building. That's where coaching comes in. Coaching isn't about giving answers. It's about helping you think clearly when the stakes feel high. It helps you make more aligned career decisions, advocate for yourself, navigate transitions without burning out. I mean, use tools like AI intentionally instead of using them reactively. I mean, it gives you speed. AI is going to give you speed. Coaching provides direction. And in this new offering, what we do is we take the two, we combine them, and we create momentum that's sustainable, not desperate. When I look at an AI-generated Resume. I look at someone who has lack of creativity, lack of understanding of who they are, lack of understanding of what the job entails. What I like to do with you is let's connect. We'll leverage AI together. We're going to start with— we'll just start with like with one job or one career goal. And through our conversations and through AI, we're going to extract the key skills for the ideal job that you want. We're going to work together. We're going to rewrite One resume, bullet by bullet for clarity. And then I'm going to work with you to generate interview questions. Then we're going to stop. We're going to read it out loud together. And this is going to allow us the opportunity to see if it sounds true, to see if it sounds like you. To see if it's something that you'd be comfortable explaining in an interview. AI alone can't give you that. That's why you need that human filter. That human filter is everything. AI drafts and then you decide. You know, some people can take this approach and apply it on their own, but I have to tell you, There's a lot of others who realize they don't just want better documents. They want support navigating different decisions, their confidence, performance, their direction. And that's what I can provide as your coach. Not answers, not scripts, but structured space to think clearly and move forward with intention. In this podcast, and also on the link where I post this podcast, I'm going to put out an offer out there for you to join me on a coaching series where you and I are going to work together with AI. If it resonated, I really want to have deeper conversations and you and I can have special access. All right. That's what I've got. Remember that you can use AI. But not lose who you are. Have a blessed day.
