3 Ways to Legally Avoid Tax

Rob Moore explains three legal tax strategies for entrepreneurs: owning a company to defer taxes and write off business expenses, reclassifying personal spending like travel and tech as business costs, and using an LLP to run assets through the business for depreciation write-offs. He stresses getting written accountant sign-off and tax-investigation insurance.

3 ways to legally avoid tax. There are schemes, scams, people, um, setting up trusts and moving to other countries, which to be honest usually don't work for avoiding tax. I've never left the country, I've never set up a scheme, I've never set up a trust for avoiding tax. But of course I've looked into them all because, you know, when you become a millionaire and then a deca-millionaire and your companies do tens of millions a year, you obviously don't want to be paying 20% VAT. Can't get out of that, not that I know of. Um, 25% corp tax, 45% income tax, national insurance, business rates, everything else. So I've been on a mission to search for legal ways that I can share publicly to minimise your tax bill. Now, by the way, just as a little word for the government, if any of them ever see any of my content, if tax was a flat 20% across the board for everyone, and I'm talking zero heirs and billionaires all paid the same, because billionaires, they never end up paying their 20%, but zero heirs are on the dole and begging professionally and getting houses given to them for free. So if tax was flat rate 20% across the board, I'll just pay it. I just would not bother with anything else. It would be no point. And I think a lot of people think like that. And then all of a sudden, there'd be probably trillions more into the economies, and all the billionaires wouldn't be leaving this country and taking their money elsewhere. So there's really only 3 main ways to legally avoid tax without being, I mean, a massive corporation where you can control policy and set up in Ireland and pay nothing. We judge that, but I bet you'd do that if you were a billionaire. So way number 1 is you pay tax last by paying yourself first by owning a company or being an entrepreneur. So when you're employed, you cannot get out of any of the tax because you're paid and the government take it off you. You pay tax first and you get what's left. Whereas when you start a company, you take the VAT in and you only pay it quarterly. You pay your corp tax yearly. You pay your income tax every 6 months delayed. Depends on your structure, by the way, and whether you have an LLP and whether you have drawings or dividends or salary. So it's a bit more complicated than that. But when you own a company, even if it's just a side hustle, You can defer paying tax and you can offset expenses, subsistence, travel, um, stationery, accommodation, you know, your apps, your devices, your hardware, your software. All of this all of a sudden becomes a business expense when it wasn't, and what's left you pay tax on. So most of the things you're personally buying right now and using, there's a very good chance that could have been a company expense if you had a company. Now I will just say to you, before you just go and blindly follow this, speak to a good accountant. If an accountant says you can't do any of that, get another accountant. I always have two rules when I'm looking to offset something against tax, which I'm not sure about. Rule number one is, will my accountant sign it off, physically written an email saying to me that he signs it off? And then rule number 2, will this also be signed off by my tax investigation insurance? And if it does those 2 things, I'm, you know, I'm 95% safe, aren't I? Because by the way, the government can just change the rules and they do retrospectively backdate the tax that they claim, which is why you have to be really careful of schemes which look good today, but but could be changed tomorrow and everything is reversed, which is obviously, it's not fair that they reverse all that shit going back, but they can do it 'cause they do what they want. So you have to be careful of that. So way number 1 that you legally avoid tax is you start a company, you pay yourself last. Way number 2 then is you figure out what's a legitimate business expense and you change your spending behaviour. So for example, I don't go on holidays, but I do do mentoring abroad. And I do do podcast tours and I do merge my travel with my work and then all of a sudden all except the personal element of that has become a business expense. I have— oh, I saved this one till last because this last one's quite sexy. So, you know, my iPhone, I use it for work. My laptop, I use it for work. You know, every time I go to London, I go and have meetings, and so all of this that otherwise I might have paid after tax, I pay before tax. Now, I have a general fag packet calculation, and it is: if you buy it after tax, it costs you double. It might actually be a bit more, but just so you've got a nice napkin estimate, if you buy it after tax, it costs you double. If you buy it before tax, it costs you half. And when you think of it like that, it's a significant amount. So, you know, maybe your travel, your accommodation, your, you know, your phone, your laptop, a lot of the things that you're buying, could they be for work? Could you merge your passion and your profession? And, you know, you might save a reasonable amount of your living costs monthly and be able to offset them against tax as long as they're not for personal use and they're for business use. But many things can become the business use with a slight change in lifestyle. Okay, and then the third thing, the big thing is if you have an LLP, they're a limited liability partnership. Now you do need to get some specific advice on this, but I know this can be done because I've done it for many years and I've got underwriting on this, but you can run your home office through your business and you can run cars one per partner through your LLP. So I have a Lamborghini Aventador run through the LLP. Um, I think we have 5 partners now, um, and so that's 5 of our cars run through the LLP. The Lambo was £320,000 new, £320,000. Um, so I think we paid £255,000 for it, so that would— we'd have paid £510,000. If you think about everything after tax costs double, I mean, everything before tax is half, and then there's the ongoing maintenance, management, repairs, servicing. Oh, and also the depreciation all can be written off against your tax, saving you up, you know, many hundreds of thousands of pounds potentially. So they're the 3 main ways to legally avoid tax that are simple, that anyone can actually do, that aren't going to get you in hot water and bother, that, you know, you could pretty much start now. And if you like— Jesus! If you like these kind of tips, imagine working with me for 6 months straight, learning every single day how to get your tax bill down, how to get your income up, how to create multiple streams of income, you know, how to start your business, how to scale your business, sales, marketing, recruitment and whatever challenges you're having in your, um, business and life right now, um, that are holding you back. Because who's the easiest person to lie to? Yourself. Um, now I don't know where you're at right now. I don't know if you're not making 10 grand a month, um, or you are. But if you're not making 10 grand a month yet, I recommend you join my Race to 10K. Now my Race to 10K is completely unique. No one in the training space I would argue, no one who teaches people how to start businesses and build wealth, no one has ever done anything like this. I hang my hat on this. So it's a challenge, but not one of those free shitty ones where no one does anything. It's a challenge where every single day you're getting accountability and support, where you can win cash, 10 grand cash, where you can win mentoring worth 25 grand. My inner circle elite, you could get access into that if you do well in the challenge. 3 of you will get your investments back. So give me a yes in the comments if honestly you like a bit of competition. Give me a yes in the comments if you kind of get a bit lazy or you tell yourself, I'll do it later, but when there's accountability and when there's a competition going on, when there's other people to kick their ass, then all of a sudden you step up. Give me a yes if that's you. So if that is you and you'd like access to me as your mentor for 6 full months and you'd like the accountability, you'd like to ask me any question anytime at all, and you'd like to get me at 85% of my one-to-one mentoring fees and about 70-odd percent of my Inner Circle Elite Mastermind program, if you can say yes to any of this, I recommend you now apply to the Race to 10K. So it's race to 10K dot com. Race to 10K dot com. Race to 10K dot com. If you've said yes to any of this, go and apply now. And then come back. There's nothing to invest yet. This is a process. I need to qualify you to see if you are right. There's a 2-stage application process, so there's nothing to risk or nothing to pay until such time as you've decided and I've decided that we want to work together and it's right. I became a millionaire when I was age 31, a deca-millionaire when I was age 35. I do not need anyone's money who it's not right for. However, if this is right for you, this could be the thing you wait, you've been waiting for a long time. Because mentoring with me is £48 grand. My Inner Circle Elite Mastermind is £25 grand, and there are no discounts and months of waiting lists on those. But this is not even half of £25, not even half of £10. It's a lot less. Why? Because I'm running on WhatsApp in a group, so I don't actually have to, for example, do hour or 2-hour Zoom calls. Every week, you know, which I might do on my more expensive programs. But you get my mobile number, you get access to me in, in our WhatsApp Race to 10K group. You get to ask me as many questions you want over the next 6 months, even if it's multiple times a day. You get commitment because you're in a group with me helping you every single day. You get accountability because you've got me as your master mentor, but you also have the other group members who want to win the 10 grand in the next 6 months, who want to kick your ass, but also they want to compete and collaborate with you. This starts in a few days, so you need to be quick. So if you, if you like the sound of this, go to raceto10k.com. Race to 10k dot now this unique hybrid is a challenge but not a free shit one where no one does anything, uh, one where I'm bribing you with loads of cash and mentoring gifts and prizes. It's mentoring with me but at 85% off my normal one-to-one mentoring fees because this is in a group on WhatsApp. You get my mobile number and you get the ability to message me within the WhatsApp group, which no one does. Everyone wants to do to wait 6 weeks and then ask them the questions only in a Zoom that you have to book in calendly. No one actually wants to talk to you daily. No one actually wants to probably help you daily. But I have a goal to get 20,000 steps a day in. So every day I make 2 hours while I'm doing, sometimes more, while I'm doing my 20,000 steps, because I was told by a scientist that that's one of the things that helps you live a long life. So I actually get benefit and you get benefit from me. Like you can see, I'm doing these lives while I'm out on my walk. I've got loads of amazing bonuses that I'm going to layer in every 2 weeks in the Race to 10K. So I'm going to bring in my multimillionaire friends to do day takeovers every other Tuesday to mentor you on specific subjects, ads, organic social media, getting clients, hitting 10 grand a month, you know, the best business models to do that. Now, you do not have to have a huge amount of money to start this. You could be in the position where you don't have a business yet, but you want one. Or you could have started and failed and started and failed. Or you could be on your way but not there yet. The only criteria I ask for the Race to 10K is that you're not interested, you're committed, and that you will do what I tell you. Oh, and one more thing. If you commit to giving me your case study, i.e., when you get to 10 grand a month, you'll tell me how you did it and how I helped you. And what you thought of the Race to 10K, I will defer nearly half your payment. And if you never get to 10K a month, you don't have to pay me nearly half the fee. How's that for fair? Don't know anyone who does that. Most people won't do that because they know that most people don't succeed in their mentoring. In fact, mentors actually admit to me that most people don't succeed. So I'm prepared to discount, discount, discount, and then defer half your payment until you hit 10 grand a month in exchange for your case study. I'm going to be redoing all my online brand assets in 2025 and I want to bang up all these wild case studies to show everyone that, you know, I honestly— I know this might sound a bit confident. I do believe I'm the best in this industry at coaching and mentoring. I've done it. I've got 340 properties. I've done a quarter of a billion in sales. I have 109 staff in the office in one company and probably 150 in all. And I've written 19 books, most of which are money and business, which are, you know, multiple bestsellers. I'm currently running 14 companies. I've got 3 million followers on social media. So, um, I know how good I am, and that's, that's because I've been doing it so long and I've helped so many people already. And so I know your challenges, your concerns. I know the bottlenecks. I know the common things where people fail. And I, I believe anyone can be successful, but But you have to be committed, not interested, and you have to do what you're told by someone who's already there and already rich. So they're really the only two criteria. Other than that, if you apply now, there's a good chance that you can get in. Now, if you're a bit more experienced and you're like, yeah, but I'm making a bit more money, we're doing a scale-up group. We're calling that Race to $100K in the next 3 to 6 months. Also, if you feel like you had big goals and plans and ideas at the start of the year and they've kind of tailed off, This is why I'm doing this Race to 10K starting July 1st, 6 months. Let's accelerate that end of the year and catch up with what we said we were going to do. So I don't think anyone else is doing anything like this. I've got various online resource documents that I share with you, like my 22-page internal marketing and launch plan, which has done multiple 6 and 7-figure launches. I actually give you that document. I give you access to my, um, How to Make 10 Grand a Month in 30 Days or Less, master Google document, and my company manual of an 8-figure business, which we update regularly. So if you go to race210k.com, the link is the same for the startup or the scale-up group. We'll just select you based on, um, what your level is. R-A-C-E-T-O-1-0-k.com. I'll put the link in the comments. And let's see if we can work together. You'll be shocked how low an entry point price it is compared to my mentoring and other people in this industry. But like I said, I need to hit 20K steps a day. I want to get some massive case studies for my rebranding of my web assets next year. So I'm prepared to pass on a lot of these savings to you. I also love doing it on WhatsApp. Like most people hate WhatsApp. Why would you want to wait 8 weeks to get a question answered? And why would I want to spend 2 hours you listing all your 17 questions when I'm quite like dynamic and fluid. I don't book in calls. People say, oh, Rob Moore, should we book in a call? I will just call. So when I'm there and I'm ready. So when you've got a question, you want an answer and no one does that because they just don't work like that. And I do. So look forward to working with you. Look forward to reviewing your application. I'll review the initial application. Then my team will follow up with a second review. Then one of my team will call you, you know, from me and let you know if you've been successful and answer any of your questions. So thanks for tuning in. Go to raceto10k.com, race to 10K dot com, because remember this: at least half of what you earn is taxed, and then probably Another 40% of what's left with what you spend is taxed. So by the way, this is an offsettable tax expense, so it ends up dropping it by quite a lot. And just figuring out how to get your tax bill down will make this free and many other investments that you make free. So thanks for tuning in. Nice to see you all. Good to see you, Kira, again, and Alan again, and Paul again. And nice to see you, Mick, from Cyprus. Jackie, who's often on my lives, grand rising to you too, Jackie. And remember this: if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
