8 Digital Assets That Generate Recurring Income

Rob Moore breaks down eight ways to build recurring income from digital assets, from YouTube and podcasts to subscription platforms and NFTs. He shares concrete numbers: £20k from a two-week-old YouTube video, £150 per 1,000 podcast downloads, £50k monthly from 3,300 Facebook supporters. The key is turning one piece of content into multiple formats and monetization streams.

generate recurring income. So right now it's easier and quicker and cheaper than ever to generate recurring income. I am not someone who's ever promoted get-rich-quick, schemey, scammy, shortcutty type stuff, but— and this might surprise many people— I have definitely changed how I'm teaching and running my businesses and my recurring income streams. So if you'd have known me 15 years ago, you'd have seen me slow and steady build a real estate portfolio. Fast forward 15 years, 1,300 tenants and counting across hundreds of units, tens of millions of pounds worth of value in my real estate portfolio. But 15 years and millions of pounds it's taken to build that up. My current latest development is 99 apartments, 159 tenants. It's taken over 4 years. Is taken tens of millions of pounds to build. But subscription-based revenue, sponsor and ad-based revenue on YouTube, podcast-based subscription and sponsor revenue, audio platform revenue, coins and badges and NFTs and cryptos and digital companies and digital real estate— this is now how I'm making much quicker a much more easy and lower risk recurring income. So what I'm going to do with you is share 8 of the best, quickest, and lowest cost digital-based recurring income streams that you can create from scratch. So number 1 is YouTube ad revenue. Now, um, YouTube is that longer burn channel which takes a little bit longer to, say, go viral on than TikTok. But every piece of content, if you record it right, will last you 10 years or more. So I've got videos that I did 5 and 10 years ago that are still generating thousands of pounds a month. I just posted an interview I did on my YouTube channel maybe 2 weeks ago, not even 2 weeks ago. It's made me over £20,000 in ad revenue. Now what I'm starting to do is get sponsors for my channels. I'm just negotiating a 6-figure sponsorship deal across multiple channels of mine. So don't turn your back on YouTube because it's a bit more effort or it takes a bit more time, because YouTube will generate significant ongoing income. And the good thing is with YouTube is you can do the content, the video, and then you post it on YouTube, and then you try and rank it on certain keywords, and then it matures over time, and you can feed ad revenue back in, in what's called dynamic insertion. So videos you did years ago, you can start feeding in ads from today on videos you did years ago. And like I said, I've just done a video recently, less than 2 weeks old, and it's made more than $20,000 in, um, sponsor and ad revenue. Okay, now what you can do to be smart is multi-stream live and/or repurpose content across multiple channels so you can earn from the same piece of content. So I did a YouTube video which has earned me many thousands of pounds. That same YouTube video, I took a 10-second cut and put it on TikTok, and it's had 3.6 million views on my channel. And loads of people have shared it, or actually just nicked it, and it's probably had another 10 million views across other people's channels. Alpha Motivation Hardcore just nicked it, cheeky bastards, got 4.5 million views on a reel. And millions of views on a TikTok. So that's probably had 12 million views of my piece of content and what people have nicked. And if I'd have had the creator fund set up on TikTok, that would have made me likely many thousands of pounds, same piece of content. Okay, number 2 base digital asset that can create multiple streams of recurring income is subscription-based revenue. So I'm actually interviewing the founder of Netflix at one of my upcoming recurring income summits. Have you noticed on Clubhouse the new feature where we can pin a link? So if you look at the top of the page, you can see a pinned link shared by Rob Moore there. That's actually a link to register for the recurring income summit. So if you click that link, I'm actually giving you a free gift to join the recurring income summit. and I have just agreed the founder of Netflix to speak at the Recurring Income Summit. Now Netflix have more than 193 million users, and some people pay $10, $15, $20 a month. That's $2 or $3 billion a month in recurring revenue from content that was created years ago. Now, of course, they do freshen up and create new content, but you can model Netflix and have a Facebook supporter program a Patreon account, a Kajabi platform, an OnlyFans account. Do you know the top OnlyFans creator? Now admittedly, I don't have the same assets that this lady has on OnlyFans, but you know, she makes $20 million. Her name's Blac Chyna, and she earns $20 million a month. $20 million a month in recurring revenue. I have now 3,300 supporters on my subscription platform on Facebook. I'm likely to be at 5,000 by the end of the year. At $10 a month, that is $50,000 a month. Um, and I've not been doing this for years, by the way. Um, I have been creating content for years. I have been on social media for years, but only really focusing properly on being a content creator and using all these monetization tools— for me, it's only really the last year or just under. It took me half a million— it took me 7 years to get my first half million followers on social media. It took me 9 months to get my second 500,000 followers or half million followers on social media. So if you figure it out and you stay consistent, then you can really gain compounded results. So, um, TikTok are about to launch their, um, live subscription-based platform. Uh, Facebook have supporters and stars. Patreon and Kajabi are non-native of independent platforms, and you could immediately start and set up a subscription-based platform on your content. Okay, third digital asset to create recurring income streams for you is a podcast. Now, um, again, with podcasts, you can dynamically insert ads, which means you can insert ads in old episodes and you can change them and freshen them up. So for 500 episodes, I never ran an ad. I'm so British, I don't want people to think I'm monetizing them. I don't want ads on my content. I want to be a puritan and a purist of my content. It is about the art and not about the money. I've already made my millions, I don't need to. This was the bullshit I was saying. And now I'm about to sign a 6-figure contract, 6-figure-a-year contract with a master sponsor. I earn £150 per 1,000 downloads. I've had millions and millions and millions of downloads, so you can do the same. Create podcast content, do an episode once or twice a week. I've done 1,000 episodes and you can create recurring income from your podcast with just 1 or 2 short ads. Um, Tim Ferriss makes, um, I believe $55,000 an episode. He does 2 or 3— no, $55,000 a sponsor, which if he does 2 or 3 sponsors, that's $100,000 or $150,000 an episode. Joe Rogan makes $13 million a year from sponsorships. On his podcast. So a podcast is a great way to generate recurring income, especially interviews. Why especially interviews? Because you can leverage and infiltrate their listenership and their following as well. Now here's the cool double win. I mentioned number 1 is YouTube. Well, if you— I, I interviewed David Icke and Jordan Peterson, um, David Goggins. They're YouTube gold. You know, you're guaranteed a million views when you interview people like that. So if I interview David Goggins and Jordan Peterson and, um, David Icke, uh, I am going to obviously, um, get good interest on my platforms, but I'm also going to infiltrate their following and their Google search and their YouTube search and their Facebook search and their podcast search. So actually, I gain a load of new listeners from interviewing other people. and what you can do is record the podcast and the YouTube simultaneously. So with those kind of guests, I always record on video and audio, and so I'm getting the YouTube ad revenue and the podcast ad revenue from the same piece of content. So podcasts are very powerful. Number 4 way to create digital-based recurring income streams is, um, on Clubhouse and Audible and audio channels. So audio is the big new platform. Um, Clubhouse are— and they have a tipping feature, and I think they've got to really step up and quickly create some kind of subscription or recurring revenue model. Wisdom give mentor coins, uh, and there's now, um, Greenroom and Fireside. So there's lots now of up-and-coming audio-based platforms that you as a creator can reach people on the most convenient and probably intimate media channel that is audio. I earn hundreds of thousands of pounds a year from Audible just recording my paperback books into audio form. So my first book was written in 2008. I've been earning off it ever since, and every single book I sell at least the same again, if not more, on Audible as well as on paperback. And I actually earn more on my audiobooks because I get a higher profit margin because the profit margin on physical books is much lower because you have the hard cost. So audio is a great way to create ongoing recurring income. Okay, number 5 then on my list, and if you haven't yet done so, make sure you're following me on Instagram because I've put on my last story in written form the 8 digital assets that generate recurring income. Or 8, 'cause there's more than 8. When I say the 8, I mean 8. And what you do is you create content and you turn your content into multiple forms. So the real trick here, the leverage point, is content repurposing. So you can see if you're watching on my TikTok Live or my Instagram Live, I've got my podcast microphone here. So you won't be able to see this on Clubhouse, but I'm live at the moment on Instagram down here. On TikTok up there, on Clubhouse here. So what I can do— I've also got my podcast microphone here, as you can see. I could just sort of move it around. So what I can do is create a podcast episode, a Clubhouse room, an Instagram Live, and a TikTok Live, and I can save the video recording of the TikTok and the Instagram Live. So what I've got simultaneously is audio content for my podcast, audio content for Clubhouse, live content for TikTok and Instagram, and then save video content that could be for Facebook and YouTube and TikToks, etc. And then I can get the transcription taken from it, and that can be a blog, it can be a LinkedIn article, it can be a Facebook post on my page or in my groups. And so what I've done from this one piece of mini masterclass content created multiple pieces of content that can be repurposed across all the channels. and then you turn on all the monetization tools and features on those channels. So for example, on TikTok, I can get coins given. On Instagram, I can get badges given. On TikTok Lives, there's going to be a subscription feature that's going to be turned on soon. I can get tips on Clubhouse. I can get my ad revenue on podcast and YouTube. And now I'm creating multiple streams of recurring income from the same piece of content repurposed on multiple channels, and I can earn on that content for years to come. So for example, you're going to be able to earn at YouTube ad revenue for the next 10 years, subscription ad revenue for the next 10 years, podcast ad revenue for the next 10 years, which means this content's still going to be relevant in 10 years, which means I can earn on this piece of content for 10 years in multiple media forms. So that you see me doing this a lot, I do it live, I don't hide it, I tell you when I'm simultaneously live streaming. And like I said, I'm on Clubhouse and Instagram and TikTok right now, so giving you live demos, showing you it's actually not that difficult. You just have to kind of get used to it and figure it out and try it a few times. Actually, one thing I'll say about content, and no one really says this, but you've got to be prepared to look stupid. You've got to be prepared to fail. You've got to be prepared to be criticized. Um, I have a Facebook group called the Disruptive Entrepreneur Community, and I put a couple of posts in there, and actually for few of my fans sort of turned on me a bit. Don't really care, couldn't really give a fuck. Um, the post got good engagement, so what? That's on them. And hey ho, one of them I actually deleted because I sort of reflected and thought, that's kind of not really in my lane and on my brand. So I deleted it. And yeah, upset a couple of people, so fucking what? I tried it. Better to try a piece of content and it not work and delete it than never try the piece of content and never put yourself out there. So too many people are worried about looking stupid, worried about turning someone into a critic, worry about getting a bit of criticism or trolling or whatever. Um, I'm not. Fuck it. I'm prepared to go live. And I've only been doing TikTok lives for about 2 weeks. And you know, when you compare how many people are having a TikTok live to a Facebook live, it's not even 1%. But TikTok's quite a viral channel. And in 6 or 12 months, when everyone else is scared to go live on TikTok and I've done, you know, 50 or 60 or 100 lives and I've figured it out, well then, you know, who's going to be laughing? Uh, so you've got to be prepared to look stupid. You've got to be prepared to test. You've got to be prepared to fail in order to succeed. And this is something I think that too many people worry about. They, they want to be perfect before they start. I say start now, get perfect later. Um, I still don't really know what I'm fucking doing on TikTok Lives. I did loads of Clubhouse rooms not knowing what the fuck to do. Start now, get perfect later. And make sure you're following, by the way, me. By the way, whatever channel you're listening to me or watching me right now on, make sure you're following me. And my TikTok account manager said to me that 90% or more of the people that watch your TikTok Live aren't your followers. So you're gaining new followers, um, by doing TikTok Lives. So you should all be doing TikTok Lives. And if you're watching me on TikTok, make sure you're following me. Um, make sure you follow me on Clubhouse because I go live every day on rooms. All right, number 5 then, um, digital assets that generate income: NFTs and crypto. So I'm no NFT guru, I'm no crypto guru. I have done quite well on my cryptos, but then anyone could have done. I'm definitely not saying, um, that that is my perfect, um, skilled outcome and result. But, um, cryptos and NFTs, and probably moving more into the multiverse and this Web 3.0 a very exciting time to create assets that produce recurring income. Um, on my Money podcast, I'm actually simultaneously going to interview an NFT expert in terms of marketing and launching them, and an NFT expert in terms of creating them as an artist. So make sure that you, um, follow and listen to my podcast, which is called Money. It's just called Money. Just search Money podcast. Is by me, Rob Moore, um, because the NFT and crypto space is more and more interesting with more and more disruption. And the multiverse, this Web 3.0 web universe, is definitely going to be a big land grab. There's a big land grab for domain names, it's a big land grab for all these new digital assets that didn't even exist 6 months ago. Okay, digital asset number 6. I'm actually going to just move quickly through 2 of these. And just focus on one because I don't want to overwhelm you. So digital companies, so, you know, investing in companies that are online like Clubhouse and companies that Oculus, you know, the AR, the, you know, the blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. My mind's gone completely blank. I'm still a bit ill. Oculus, the glasses, the artificial reality, virtual reality. Well done, you got there in the end. Twat. But yeah, these digital and online-based companies I think can be very investable, and you could even invest in them. I know my friend John Lee has made some amazing investments and done very well from fast growth in the digital space. I know that Clubhouse's valuation went from virtually nothing to billions in not very long. So you could actually leverage these fast-growing digital companies if you've got a bit of spare cash. It's not financial advice, always do your own research. But, but, you know, you can either create digital assets, leverage digital assets, or invest, invest, squeaky, in digital assets. Okay, the next one I've got is domain names. So my really good friend John Lee bought all the short, um,.club URLs, and I know that they've gone up a lot in value. Um, there's some 3-letter domain names I'm trying to buy right now which I believe will go up in value a lot if I can get them at a good price. In the UK, there's, there's no real land that you can build on anymore without really tight planning permissions because we're not making any more land in the UK, and it's quite a small country. And it's the same now with online domain names. So if you think.coms, I mean, you could probably only buy a really long.com now. Couldn't really buy a 3 or a 4 or 5 letter word or a name anymore. So that most of that real estate is gone. So therefore it goes up in value because of supply and demand and scarcity. Scarcity. So the new ones like.club, the same thing. And then this multiverse and all these new digital assets and currencies, when there's a scarce supply of them or you get in early, then you've got a great opportunity to, um, you know, build a good digital real estate portfolio. And I'm looking to build a real estate portfolio online now of domain names and cryptos and NFTs and digital assets, not just physical assets in real estate, which is you know, been my traditional way of doing it, if you like. Okay, and then my final digital asset that generates income is your social media channels and your content. So I believe you can turn your content into cash flow, and I believe you can monetize your message to the masses on media. So this piece of content will be recorded, could be for the podcast, could be a piece of video content As it could be video and audio, I could get this transcribed into a blog, 3,000-word version for SEO for search, 800-word version for Facebook and LinkedIn. And all of a sudden I now have a digital asset in the form of content, and I can have sponsors and advertisers, and I can have people donate badges and join my supporter program and donate stars and donate coins. And you know, you can have YouTube Premium, you'll be able to have TikTok Premium for lives. There's so many ways to monetize your content and monetize social media and monetize your message, but most people just aren't leveraging them, or they don't know how to turn them on, or they're not consistent enough with their content. So if you'd like to learn how to do that, monetize your message to the masses, if you'd like to turn your content into cash flow and create recurring income from these fast start and low cost digital assets, I thoroughly recommend that you grab a ticket for the Recurring Income Summit. This is the last chance you've got to do it because it's actually coming up very soon, within the next couple of days. I will not be mentioning it again. This is your last chance. Now, if you're on Clubhouse, I've pinned the link to the top because Clubhouse have just allowed us to pin links. So at the top there is a link for you to get a ticket, um, subsidized by me for the Recurring Income Summit. Now, if you're on any of my lives, TikTok, Instagram, you need to go to the URL robmoore.events. R-O-B-M-O-O-R-E dot events, E-V-E-N-T-S. So if you're watching on any of my lives, go right now to robmoore.events And if you're listening here on Clubhouse, just simply click that link that I've pinned to the top and that'll take you to the registration page. Do it now though, because this event is coming up in less than 48 hours. So this will be the last time I mention it. I can literally give a couple of dozen places, nick you right in at the end, as long as you log in 5 minutes early. I've got about 4 times the amount of people that I want on this recurring income summit registered. So what I'll do is just literally first come, first serve it when you log in 5 minutes early. I have agreed that to interview the founder of Netflix, um, and we're just sorting dates, and I'll make sure you get a copy of that interview. Um, someone's asked here how to join. If you're watching on my lives, just go to the URL robmoore.events, E-V-E-N-T-S plural. I just put that in a browser, don't even have to put www.in. And if you're listening on Clubhouse, just click the link I've pinned to the top for your pleasure and ease. And then just register your details. I have got the global head of marketing of Disney. Now Disney make tens or hundreds of millions in recurring income from their digital online assets. Obviously Netflix make billions. The amazing John Lee is doing how to leverage social media and create multiple streams of income from social media. I've got a speaker talking about NFTs and cryptos and investing in digital companies that create— can create recurring streams of income from digital assets. We'll be teaching you how to build your own subscription platform, i.e., the content and the things you've already learned in your life that you turn into a subscription platform on either Patreon or Supporters or OnlyFans or Kajabi. So if you're listening on Clubhouse, hit that link pinned at the top and go register right now. If you're watching me on any of the lives, simply go to the link, the URL robmoore.events. R-O-B-M-O-O-R-E dot E-V-E-N-T-S. Please do it now because this is going to be the last time I'm talking about it, because in less than 36 hours, in a day and a bit, we're actually going live at this event. Now it is virtually live streamed all over the globe. You can access it anywhere. We do it on a time zone which seems to fit for all the different countries around the world, not just the UK. And we will teach you the 4 main digital assets that are required in terms of the classes of assets. We teach you the 19 different, um, vehicles and individual, um, practical tactical things you can set up that create recurring income. And I gave you 8 of them just now, so there's another 9 of them we'll teach. And then we bring in, um, you know, our amazing guest speakers and experts who've built, um, hundreds of thousands or millions of pounds a year in recurring income. Now, one thing I'll leave you with before I hand over to John, if he's in the room, um, and that is you are massively at risk of redundancy, burning all your cash, not being able to earn money if you have a job and you exchange your time for money and you don't have digital assets. Digital assets that produce recurring income save you from recessions, lockdowns, and pandemics, save you from redundancies and being fired and bosses changing their mind, or, um, you know, you not earning enough, making a living. And it's the only way to have proper freedom is to have recurring income. And like I said, I've got, um, millions, tens of millions of pounds worth of property, 1,300 tenants across hundreds of units, and it's taken me 15 years and so many thousands of hours and so much capital to build. Whereas, you know, I didn't have to pay to set up on any social media channels. I didn't have to pay to set up my Patreon. I didn't have to pay to set up my Facebook supporters. I don't have to pay to go live on Clubhouse, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. And all that happens is I turn on all the monetization tools that these channels give me and start creating recurring income. And as I said before, now I'm negotiating a 6-figure master sponsorship deal now based on the fact that in the last 9 months I've gained more than half a million followers, and it took me 7 years to gain my first half million followers. So if you stay close to me, you can get the same results, you know, gain half a million followers in 9 months instead of 7 or 8 years by knowing the strategies and tactics to build recurring income online. So final call, if you're listening on Clubhouse, hit that pinned link at the top and I will donate a place. I will subsidize your ticket to the Recurring Income Summit. I'll even upgrade you Premium, but you must turn up 5 minutes before if you want to get in, otherwise you're going to get locked out. And if you're watching my lives here, then just go right now to the URL robmoore.events. R-O-B-M-O-O-R-E dot E-V-E-N-T-S. Go there right now and I'll see you at the Recurring Income Summit live.
