So Amazon share price has plummeted by 14% in one day. Maybe the world is changing. Maybe in many regards, big tech, big massive Amazon, Apple, Netflix, these companies that are huge, maybe this is the end of an era. Uh, and I think there could be some big upsides to this. Now, I love entrepreneurial stories, and Jeff Bezos and Steve Jobs, I believe, have done amazing things for the world. But there are huge downsides of big tech. Going to explore those in this short video. So let me know, um, what you think of the Amazon stock price crash in the comments. It actually went down 14% in one day, uh, and that is its worst day since 2005. It's Amazon's worst day in 18 years. Now Amazon profited hugely from the lockdown and from COVID so much so that people started to create conspiracy theories about why. Um, but now, now we're out of lockdown, um, and things are maybe moving back to normal. Many of these big tech platforms have started to struggle. Netflix recorded its first loss in many years. Apple apparently is predicting its first loss in many years. Now, so many people on my social channels haveā I wouldn't say been campaigning, but certainly they don't like the control that big tech have. They don't like the fact that Amazon can price out all the boutiques and the local shops and the small business owners. They don't like this. So could we be going back to boutique Is this something that as a humanity we want and need? Has the big tech era started to end? Elon Musk has privatized Twitter and he's looking to make it a free speech platform. I personally think that is such good news for social media, and I think it's about time that big tech and big social media and these massive tech companies. I'm not saying they should be gone. I'm not saying this is the death of them or this should be the end, but I just think they need more accountability, more competition, more free market. Let me know what you think, by the way. And if you agree, or at least you think this is a discussion point, please hit the share button because I believe this to be big news. The world is changing so much more. We are in Darwinian times, the survival of the fittest. There are opportunities right now with everything that's going on in the world to make positive change and impact. Now, often what Amazon does is it undercuts and prices out all the resellers on Amazon, so Amazon ends up with the monopoly. And, you know, I, I know many people in my community have learned e-commerce and then started to sell well and do well, and then Amazon have priced them out and undercut them. And that's difficult for a start-and-scale-up business owner. So here's the quick news. Um, on Friday, Amazon shares dropped 14%. So it reported its first online loss since 2015, and it had its worst, um, stock market day since 2005. Etsy, who are online shopping, their shares fell more than 8%, which is of course huge. Um, Amazon also recorded a $7.6 billion loss in an investment in an electric vehicle maker called Rivian. Which lost more than half of its value in one quarter. So is this the start of the decline of big tech? Netflix have recorded losses, um, financial and, um, subscriber base. Apple is predicting losses. Is the world changing now that we're opening up after lockdown? Can we go back to boutique? Can we go back to local? Can we go back to small business? I do think this is needed because I do think there's too much of a monopoly in big tech and social media. I don't think that they should be gone. I think they have a place and value, but I think there needs to be more free market, more competition, and maybe more regulation and control. Let me know what you think in the comments.
