Bill Gates Slams Crypto & NFTs š³

Rob Moore breaks down Bill Gates' criticism of crypto and NFTs as "greater fool" investments with no real value, citing Gates' jab at "expensive digital images of monkeys." Bitcoin dropped two-thirds from its peak, and the crypto market fell from $3 trillion to under $1 trillion, though forecasts for its future price still diverge widely.

So Bill Gates, the Bill Gates, has just slammed cryptos and NFTs. He clearly doesn't like them. So his first quote: obviously expensive digital images of monkeys are going to improve the world immensely. So clearly he doesn't think that many cryptos and NFTs have actual physical, tangible value. I'd love your thoughts in the comments, by the way, because a lot of people think that cryptos and NFTs are the future, decentralization is the future. But it seems that a lot of the old-school billionaires and investorsā you know, Warren Buffett said he wouldn't buy all of Bitcoin for $25. Now, I love and respect what Warren Buffett is about and what he's done, But I'd buy all of Bitcoin for $25 even if I didn't believe in it, because then you could just sell it for, I don't know, a few billion on the cheap and make loads of money. And Bill Gates now has said something pretty similar. So Bill Gates has referenced, um, a concept which is known as greater fool investment. Let me know in the comments if you know what greater fool investment is. Um, he said that, um, as an asset class It's 100% based on the greater fool theory that somebody's going to pay more for it than I do. So essentially, he thinks that cryptos and NFTs are a growing Ponzi scheme in the, in the end, when someone won't pay more than you, it all falls down like a house of cards. And this is what Bill Gates, the Bill Gates, thinks about cryptos and NFTs. So let me just read you the definition of the Greater Fool Theory. It's a practice in which people invest in overvalued assets regardless of their actual underlying value in hopes that someone else will come along and pay even more for it. And look, let me know if you think they have a point here with the Greater Fool investment, because you know those Bored Apes that he was referencing? Bill Gates said expensive digital images of monkeys. They don't actually have any production value, any serious value to the world, which is what these old-school investors like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Charlie Mungerā they don't think they have any intrinsic value. That's why they don't like them, and maybe that's why they like companies and other asset classes that they perceive have tangible value. So, um, what do you think about NFTs and cryptos and their tangible value or not, or whether they are a greater fool investment. Because if you think about it, fiat currency keeps getting inflated and eroded and debased, and in the end it's going to be worth nothing. So could you argue the same for many cryptos or NFTs? Um, NFTsā that was a T, sounded like a D. Um, so let me know what you think in the comments. Uh, now look, um, what he said here is once that point of no one prepared to pay more for it is reached, some investors are going to be left what he says holding the bag, and then prices are going to decline rapidly. So the Greater Fool theory is that someone will always pay more, even the asset class, even if it doesn't have fundamental value, and then it drops off a cliff. And to be fair, we have seen that with a lot of cryptos and NFTs. So I'm not sure you can fully say he's wrong there, but I'd love your thoughts in the comments. Now look, we're in volatile times right now, um, and there's going to be a lot of blood on the streets. There's going to be a lot of people losing a lot of money. Um, Bitcoin has dropped by more than two-thirds. The total market capitalization of all cryptos has gone down from over $3 billion to under $1 trillion. It is crazy, disruptive, volatile times, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Bitcoin's going to go to zero. Are you one of these Bitcoin's going to go to zero people? Like Peter Schiff thinks Bitcoin will go to zero, Warren Buffett thinks Bitcoin will go to zero, but there are other people that think Bitcoin will go to $250,000, $500,000, a million or more in the next 5 or 10 years. I'd love your thoughts in the comments. These are things I think we should all discuss. The more we discuss them out, we're all more that we're going to learn together. So many of you here, for example, are talking about does gold have, um, tangible value? Well, at least it has some physical property. So, you know, people like to wear gold, people do use gold, it has utility. Not as much utility as real estate. Real estate has great utility. We all need somewhere to live. But gold certainly has some utility. And this is Bill Gates's argument: NFTs don't have any utility. And so the greater fool theory is that someone who's more of a fool than you will pay more than you, and someone who's more of a fool than you will pay more than you, until there's no fool to pay more than you, and then it falls off a cliff. And that's what he thinks about NFTs and cryptos. But gold and real estate do have some physical, tangible value and utility. Now look, I love Warren Buffett, I love Bill Gates in terms of what they've done. They're billionaires, you can't deny their success, but they're getting a bit old and they're into the more traditional asset classes, the hard asset classes, the utility asset classes. They're not really into the personal brand, the social media, you know, the leveraging the internet and the information and the decentralization. And this is a new opportunity. Kids are making millions out of this, and you could too. I've got to get out of here, so go now and join rob.team to learn all this stuff, to learn, earn, and invest, to create multiple streams of recurring income, digital income, build digital assets, online assets, content into cash flow, and information into income. Open a new window, type in rob.team. I'll see you in the members area. Is a financial revolution coming? But Bill Gates doesn't think it's cryptos and NFTs because he thinks they have no intrinsic value, they have no utility. He's even said, um, that, and I'll quote, obviously expensive digital images of monkeys are going to improve the world immensely. So he's of the old-school understanding of production and value and utility, and he believes that NFTs and cryptos are essentially the, the greater fool investment theory. Where an asset class is 100% based on the greater fool theory that someone's going to pay more for it than I do. And when there is no more fool to pay more money, it falls off a cliff. That's what Bill Gates thinks. What do you think? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for tuning in, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
