Bitcoin Has Just Broken 100k! (Should You Buy)?

Rob Moore reacts to Bitcoin hitting $100k and shares his investment approach: pound-cost averaging into Bitcoin alongside diversified assets like real estate and stocks. He warns about meme-coins and advocates a "buy, hold, die" strategy inspired by Warren Buffett, taking profits only when needed to avoid taxes.

Bitcoin has just broken $100K. Should you buy? I don't advise, I share my experience. Hashtag just saying. But breaking news, within the last few hours Bitcoin has broken $100 grand. So first off, let me know in the comments if you're in Bitcoin or you like Bitcoin or cryptos. I'm going to share my quick thoughts on whether it is the right time, whether you've missed the boat and it is too late, and maybe, you know, how much of your money should you spread into certain asset classes. Before that, a quick story. So I was having dinner with someone who'd made tens of millions out of a cryptocurrency. It wasn't Bitcoin, and he was bragging. Basically, he was drunk and he was bragging that He'd made tens of millions, and I said to him, that's cool, um, nice one, uh, why don't you reverse pound cost average and take some out and lock it into another asset? Make money in Bitcoin, take it out, put it in real estate. Make money in Bitcoin, take it out and put it into gold. You know, double your money, take out half. Double your money, take out half. Double your money, take out half, you know, actually cash in a paper gain. He was like, nah. He said to me, he said, the reason I'm not going to do that is because I can't get a better return in anything else, so why would I take my money out, put it into something else that gives me a lower return? So he left his money in, and this meme coin, shitcoin, altcoin he was in went to zero, and he fucking lost the lot. Tens of millions of pounds. Because I don't even know if reverse pound cost averaging is a concept, so it's a Robism if it's not a concept. But pound cost averaging is when you, instead of putting all your investment in in one go— let's say you're going to put in 10 grand. Instead of putting 10 grand in Bitcoin today, you put 2 grand today, 2 grand in a month, 2 grand in another month, 2 grand in another month, and so on. And that's called pound cost averaging, where you stage your investments in over time to average out over the peaks and troughs, essentially negating you buying at one point and then it crashing and you losing a lot of your money. Pound cost averaging is especially important in assets that could go to zero. Real estate is not going to go to zero. The S&P 500 is not going to go to zero. Bitcoin looks like it probably won't now, but it's probably more likely than the S&P 500 or real estate to go to zero. So anything that could go to zero, it's especially imperative that you pound-cost average when you go in. Reverse pound-cost averaging is what's the title I've come up with, is where you make money and you pull a bit out and diversify it. You make money, you pull a bit out, you diversify it. To protect again from making the money and then losing it all. Because making money on paper is fine, it's better than not, but it's still on paper and it's not real. So a lot of people have been asking me, you know, should I go into Bitcoin now? It's just broken over $100K. I missed it at $70K, $50K, $5K. And so my answer is, it's up to you, but it probably hasn't peaked. I know it got a big boom because of Donald Trump, who's a fan of Bitcoin, who, you know, won the election. It probably hasn't peaked. So I know a lot of people, they're holding out because they think it's peaked now. It probably hasn't peaked. Um, that's the first thing. So you could pound cost average in going up. By the way, I have no skin in the game, and this isn't advice, it's just me talking to you from my experience. Um, but what you, you could also do is You could buy and hold and die. So my favorite holding period is forever, and I had to remind myself of my own investing strategy: buy, hold, die. So what you could do is put money in when you're ready, regardless of the price, and leave it there forever. If you do that, you will get rich. It's called compounding. And Warren Buffett doesn't take dividends because, one, you have to pay tax on dividends, and two, he thinks that slows down compounding. So he reinvests all of his dividends, compounds, compounds, and then if he needs some money, he just sells a little bit. Reinvest dividends, compounds, compounds, and then just sells a little bit. So with Bitcoin, buy, hold, die. I think that's the best strategy for Bitcoin. And then every now and again, when you need a bit, take a bit. Need a bit, take a bit. Need a bit, take a bit. And, um, you know, ride the booms and the busts. People are always trying to time the booms and the busts, and this means they sell too early and they sell too late. If you never sell, you can't sell too early and you can't sell too late if you buy, hold, die. But a lot of people now are selling too early. I spoke to someone yesterday who knows more about crypto than me, and he said, oh Rob, I sold way too early. Yeah, because he's probably got a bit too much knowledge and Look, you can never have too much knowledge, but at least I know my own limitations, which is I have a very basic strategy for Bitcoin, real estate, stock market: buy, hold, die. And I was buying properties for 70 grand, and now I have 345 rental units. I have a 100-apartment block with 60 tenants in— 160 tenants in it. And that all started with single lets. And if I'd have sold them, I'd have owned a few, and I'd have had a bit more cash, and I paid a load more tax. My, my stock market, just buy, hold, die. And one of my funds is up 23% this year. Buy, hold, die. So if you have that mentality, buy gold and silver and hold forever. Buy Bitcoin and hold forever. Buy real estate and hold forever. And then what you do is you make your money in your business. So, you know, I have training companies, they do $20 to $25 million a year in sales depending on the year, and that's the cash flowing element. So I live off that and I, I get build my, um, liquidity millions that way, and I build my asset millions out of, um, all the other asset classes. So if you'd like to learn how to invest and build multiple streams of income and be able to build, um, become an asset millionaire but also a liquid millionaire— because what people are doing is they're trying to be a liquid millionaire in things that should be assets, and they're stripping their assets trying to be a liquid millionaire. And so the assets never grow because they strip them. So I, I buy, hold, and die with it. Well, I mean, I died, yeah, and I have sold some. By the way, how do I know this? Because I've sold watches and I've sold real estate and I've sold stock market and I've sold Bitcoin. I sold Bitcoin under 10 grand. So I know I've made the mistakes by selling and cashing out and taking a bit of a haircut and then paying the tax and being left with two-thirds And now I see it double. I mean, some of the Bitcoin I sold, it was a tenth of what it is now. Some of the watches I sold tripled and quadrupled in value. Some of the real estate I've sold has doubled in value. So I've just learned by my own mistakes. And I studied Warren Buffett, who said, my favorite holding period is forever, and I ignored him. Well, I didn't ignore him, that was my strategy until lockdown happened, or I panicked, or I needed some money. So there you go. Now, I don't talk about meme coins or other non— you know, to me there's Bitcoin and then there's everything else. So okay, you know, people are talking here about XRP, you know, they talk about ETH, there's even people talking about XDC, XLM, HBAR, all these. They're much more volatile. They're— some of those could go to zero. Some people are saying Bitcoin is overpriced. You only know it's overpriced when It corrects, so no one can actually say that, which is why I reverse pound cost average and take out as I make, and that's why I pound cost average on the way up. Anyway, these are all fascinating discussions, but I've got to go. But if you'd like to learn more about how to invest, how to build multiple streams of income, how to grow your asset base and be an asset millionaire and a liquid millionaire in different asset classes, build multiple streams of income, I recommend you join me at the Moneymaker Summit, because I've got detailed sessions on how to invest in silver and gold Detailed sessions in how to invest in cash flow producing assets, because Bitcoin does not produce cash flow. I've also got a 90-minute detailed section on how to get your tax bill down, because a lot of people think, oh, they've made money, and then they sell the asset, and then they don't realize they've got a tax liability, and it wipes out most of their money. Your biggest expense is tax. At least in a divorce, it only costs half. So if you'd like to learn all this stuff, I recommend you join me at the Moneymaker Summit. To become a liquid millionaire, 'cause by the way, net worth millionaire is assets minus liabilities. But you can be making no cash flow. A liquid millionaire is millions in income, and I'll teach you the difference, and I'll teach you how to do both, by the way, because being an asset millionaire is for the future, being a liquid millionaire is for the present and for now. What you do not want to do is use your asset millions to fund your liquid millions because it ends up reducing down the asset. So you actually use These types of assets for asset millionaire, and then a cash flowing business for liquid millions. And I'll share with you how I've done that over 18 years, done a quarter of a billion in sales. I'm actually bringing in a billionaire and a multi-hundred millionaire keynote speaker for each event. There's a special deep dive section on how to get your tax bill down, which is probably the biggest thing that's holding you back because it's your biggest expense. I've also got a detailed section on AI because of all these tax rises on staff that the government and Labour are implementing. So it's all covered, and you, you've either got the free ticket or a very tiny upgrade. I'm talking like less than £100. You can have dinner with the multi-millionaires, money mindset sessions, 2 days with 2 different millionaires, uh, a panel Q&A with all the millionaires and champagne reception, and the 15-hour How to Raise Money Masterclass, which is online, which is why I can give it to you at no cost. That's all in the small VIP upgraded ticket. So it's probably better value to do the VIP upgrade. But let's say if it's— if things are hard for you, I know there's a cost of living crisis, I want to celebrate and give back, you could also get the, um, sponsored ticket by me at robmoore.live/money. Go there now, register, come back, because Bitcoin has just broken through the $100K. Many people are saying, oh, it's too late now. How do you know? You don't. If you buy in stages, you won't miss the booms and you won't get hurt by the busts as much because you average out the losses, or at least bad timing. A lot of people are now talking about meme coins and other coins, but they can go to zero. And anything that can go to zero, you should only use risk capital you can afford to lose the whole amount. So anyway, I've shared a few thoughts. What are your thoughts? Do you think Bitcoin's got more to go? Do you think it's peaked? Do you agree with me to buy, hold, die, and to buy in stages, to kind of ignore the price? Um, and what, what are other coins you're investing in, or cryptos that you think are good? Remember, don't advise people because, you know, these are volatile. But I'd love your thoughts as well. Thanks for tuning in, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything. I'll see you at the Moneymaker Summit Live. Let's start 2025 with a massive bang. Do not wait. Register now at robmoore.live/money. And if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
