Boris Johnson’s Resignation Speech 😮

Boris Johnson announced his resignation as Conservative Party leader, saying he'll stay as caretaker PM until a successor is chosen. He claimed credit for the largest Conservative majority since the 1980s but offered no admission of wrongdoing. The presenter argues the government wasted billions on ineffective track-and-trace apps and PPE that could have supported small businesses instead.

So Boris Johnson has just resigned as UK Prime Minister. I watched his resignation speech, it's just happened, and I'm going to share with you here the main points on his resignation speech. As I do, I would love your thoughts because there is great change happening in our nation right now. We are probably on the edge of a revolution. And there is now finally some democratic opportunity for you to have your say in who should be the new leader of the country and what policies and changes and improvements should be made to our otherwise previously great nation. And here's the thing, in democracy you're supposed to be able to have a say, and I felt like over the last 2 years, just over, since lockdown started. We haven't really been able to have a say. We've been handcuffed and made unimportant, insignificant. Too many lies, too many policies that have restricted business and trade. And now, right now, we have an opportunity to have our say on the new leader and the new cabinet. So this is a summary of Boris Johnson's resignation speech. So he said that the party wants a new leader. He said that leadership election will start right away. He said the timetable for the leadership election will be announced next week. He said that he will refill the cabinet and stay on until a new leader is elected. By the way, I'd love your thoughts on this. Did you think Boris was going to resign? Is it the right thing for Boris to resign? Who could and should replace Boris, and where does this leave our nation? He goes on to say that he's proud of what he achieved. He had the biggest Conservative majority since the 1980s. He regrets that he can't to continue and deliver on his promises. He's disappointed that the party asked him to go. He's sad to be leaving the best job in the world. He made a generic thank you to the NHS, the police, the civil service. He said above all he wants to thank the British public and, quote, being Prime Minister is an education. Has travelled to every part of the UK, knows even if things seem dark, our future together is golden. So let me know what you think about that. I'll do a quick summary. Here's what's interesting: no admission of any wronging or mistakes, no regrets. He also calls the decision for the Conservative Party to remove him as eccentric. Now I think he's the master of spin language, personally. He's found a way there to blame the Conservatives, calling their decision to remove him eccentric. It's not eccentric at all, because when there was a vote of no confidence for previous prime ministers, even if they were voted to stay on but they didn't have a major majority— major majority— then they were, uh, they were done. And after his virtually 60-40 vote of confidence, which is really a 40% no confidence. The writing was on the wall. Barbara said, pipe down, Rob, be careful what you wish for. I'm not wishing for anything other than better fiduciary management of our country, protecting and partnering with small businesses and entrepreneurs to fuel the economy again. Stop banging the taxes up, control this massive inflation and these soaring cost of living and food and fuel and energy shortages. You know, there are things that the government can do that they're not doing. But I'd love your thoughts on what you think. Number one, the direction of our country should go, what things should change, whether it's increasing interest rates or reducing inflation or reducing taxation or whatever you think should happen. And the next thing is, who should replace Boris? Who should be the next Prime Minister? I love your thoughts. Also, please hit the share button because social media is really now one of the only few places where we can have some democratic influence, because really it's very difficult to have democratic influence any other way. So, quick summary, Boris's resignation summary. Here we go. Hit the share button. Let me know who you think should be the new Prime Minister. Let Let me know what you think will be the future of our great nation. So Boris said the party wants a new leader, leadership election to begin right away, timetable for that to be announced next week. He will refill the cabinet and stay on until a new leader is elected. He's proud of what he's achieved. He had the biggest Conservative majority since the 1980s. He regrets he can't continue to deliver his promises. He's disappointed the party asked him to go. He's sad to be leaving the best job in the world. He had a generic thank you to the NHS, the police, the civil service. Above all, he wants to thank the British public. Being Prime Minister is an education, has traveled to every part of the UK, knows even if things seem dark, our future together is golden. But no regrets, no admissions of wrongdoing, and sort of blamed the Conservatives for their decision to remove him. So let me know what you think in the comments. Is this good for our country or bad? What is the future of our country? What policies and solutions do you believe should happen? I will engage with you in the comments and share some of my own. Where I think we fundamentally went wrong is we lost the economy and inflation got crazy high. Brexit, lockdowns, wars all contributed. I don't think the business owners and entrepreneurs were supported enough and given enough incentive to start or scale up their businesses or employ. And I think that that had a huge knock-on effect. Of course, there's so many different policies, but, you know, pumping tens of billions into track and trace apps that didn't work properly and PPE equipment that they had to write off, pumping billions into wars, pumping billions into loans that went toxic Could these tens of billions have been invested better? I believe they could have been. So I'd love your thoughts. Boris has resigned. I've just shared his resignation speech in bullet points. You can go back and watch the replay. Hit the share button. Let me know what you think in the comments on the future of our country and who's going to be the next Prime Minister. Some of you have said, well, doesn't really matter because they're all puppets, or, um, they don't have any control anyway. Well, if you think that, then give me a bit of proof. People are saying Rothschild, New World Order, Great Reset, World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab. They say all this stuff, but give me a bit more meat. A bit more meat. And no, I won't be going for Prime Minister. No, too many of you are saying that. It's definitely not going to happen. Thanks for tuning in. I think he's got the charm, he's got the chat, he's got the language, and he's got the spin. But unfortunately, he's been proven to be dishonest too many times. People say all politicians are dishonest. Well, I don't know, but look, I think there's just too many times where he was proven. For me, you know, them partying every month on lockdown was the last straw. That for me was it. Because of, you know, all the people that couldn't see their dying children or parents in hospital because they were forced into lockdown. All the people that had to shut their businesses and lose decades of what they built because they were locked down, and yet the government having parties every month. To me, that was the last straw, in my opinion. So, right, toolkit in the comments. I'll give you a load of financial resources as a gift from me. And go and watch the replay, start again if you want to see Boris's resignation summary. I just watched it. I just shared it. Now make sure you hit the share button.
