Apple to buy Man United. So the breaking news is that Apple are interested in and are maybe very likely to buy Manchester United. Well, they're shit, so that would help. Um, so it's a $5.8 billion deal. The Man United fan base have wanted the Glazers, the current owners, out forever. And looks like Apple have thrown their hat in the ring, as, uh, along with the founder of Zara, the billionaire co-owner founder of Zara. And their plan is to spend a billion dollars on the stadium because apparently it needs a rebuild. And, um, what the draw is for Man Uā to Man U from Apple is the big commercial opportunities. Apple have never bought a sports team before, and, um, I think it's actually really big news. So let me know what you think. Do you think it's likely that Apple will buy Man U? Um, are Man U worth $5.8 billion? Um, got a slightly lower overhead now with Cristiano Ronaldo gone, and, um Elon Musk jokingly had some interest in Man United. Um, Conor McGregor. So it looks like everyone wants to buy Man United. Maybe they'll go up for sale for Ā£5.8, not Ā£5.8 billion. But yeah, just a really quick live, um, of the breaking news that Apple, um, look like they are in the ring to buy Man United. Um, so let me know what you think in the comments. Crazy world we're living in right now. Man United worth 5.8 billion, really? Just because I'm a Liverpool fan, but really, are they really? Oh, Paul says he's happy as a Man U fan. Paul, you would have anyone buy Man United because you'd probably hate the Glazer family, so you'd be happy if I bought Man United and I'm a Liverpool fan. So yeah, there you go. And let me know what you think about the whole Cristiano Ronaldo, um, incidents. So do you think his legacy was tarnished by, um, how he behaved when he, you know, walked off the field, didn't he? Threw the phone away and got fined for that, and walked out into theā walked off the bench before the end of play, didn't shake everyone's hands, etc. Had the phone incident where he got fined. Um, so some petulance there from maybe Ronaldo. Has his legacy been tarnished, or was he managed badly? I mean, let's be honest, if you're paying someone 500 grand a week, don't you have them in your team? Like, why would you pay him 500 grand a week and not have him in your team? Oh, but he doesn't play in our system, doesn't play our way. Yeah, but why would you have someone on 500 grand a week who can still clearly put all the goals in Yeah. Oh, Marcus said Ronaldo overpaid prick. Um, I would notā prick? No. Like, even as a Liverpool fan, I've got to say, the guy, very brilliant footballer, very disciplined human being, deserves all of his success. So, um, I'm not a hater of Ronaldo just because he played for Man Utd. And actually, does it really tarnish his legacy? Well, maybe it does a bit. Still got paid Ā£500 grand a week. So he probably doesn't really give a shit about that. And let's be honest, going on Piers Morgan was just his way to force a hand to get out the club, and it worked, and he's gone by mutual consent. My guess is probably Man United said, 'We're not paying you the rest of your contract, but you can walk today,' and he shook their hand, all their hands, and left. Jermaine has said anyone is better than having the Glazers own the club. I don't know, I mean, look, owning a football club Not an easy thing to do. Um, many of the football fans aren't commercial. Um, but yeah, look, I'm not sure that the Glazers are the most popular football owners in the world. But anyway, if you're just tuning in, the breaking news is that Apple are in the ring. Apple want to buy Man United. Um, $5.8 billion deal. They'd even put a billion into the stadium because apparently it needs it. And they think that the big commercial opportunities with Man United, who obviously are one of the biggest clubs in the worldā I hate to say it, I hate to say itā But man, you are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Ah, I can't believe I said it. So I think that's really interesting news. And, um, Ronaldo is gone. Has he tarnished his legacy, or did he get a nice Ā£500 grand a week payday and it doesn't really matter, and what he did at Real Madrid and Man United before can't be changed? Um, Simon has said all footballers are overpaid pricks. Um, soundsā I got it, Simon, I like you. You follow my work, you're on the comments a lot, but I've got to say, I'm not sure that's a fair or accurate statement. Do you know them all? No. If they weren't worth what they were paid, they wouldn't be getting paid it. You get paid what you're worth. Some people, 'Oh, I'm not paid what I'm worth.' Yeah, you are. You're paid what you're worth. And if you think you're worth more, then you're in delusional land until you create more value, and then you get paid more when you're more valuable. And if you want to get paid more, you have to create value first, uh, not whine and bitch and moan that you should be paid more. And just because you don't perceive that footballers are worth a few hundred grand a week, clearly the rest of the world do because they watch and consume all the ads and drink all the beer and pay all the TV licenses and the subscriptions. So actually, you've got to understand what, um, value exchange is. Sean has said Glazers have put Man Utd 1.5 billion in debt. Simon has said footballers are a bunch of dogs chasing a ball around the field. I think this content is losing its way in some of these comments, so I'm going to finish it here. But let me know what you think about Apple buying Man United. Will it happen? Big news. And Cristiano Ronaldo's legacy, has it been ruined or does it not change what he did? Let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks for tuning in. Oh, quick one, um, obviously we're in a cost of living crisis right now. Everything is fucked.
