Cashless society nightmare. Many people believe that a cashless society is coming. I wonder if lockdowns and the pandemic, and the reason and excuse for not allowing cash was the circulation of the virusā I wonder if that was something that made a cashless society even more of a real prospect. I want to tell you I am scared of a cashless society. And for all the reasons that a cashless society is good for the government and central banks and the system are the very reasons it's probably bad for you. And I believe that we should resist a cashless society. Look, it's probably coming because money evolves. And 1,000 years ago, there was no such thing as cash. And in 1,000 years, there'll be no such thing as cash. And that's fine, I'll be well dead. But in my lifetime, I say no, no to a cashless society. And I'm going to give you a few reasons why, and I'm going to tell you what it means. And I would love your thoughts in the comments too. So the reasons that a cashless society would be great for the governments and central banks: they can tax you at source Immediately. Did you see the new PayPal update in their terms and conditions? Did you see that? Where essentially they said if they believe that you do anything or say anything wrong, they can take $2,500 out of your bank. So at any time in a cashless society, the government and central banks can go, hmm, we didn't like what Rob said on Facebook, we'll have 10 grand off him. Oh, we've just decided that the tax rates are going to go up and we're taking it off you immediately. No fuckingā not on my watch are you doing that shit. So they can control and take at source your tax. They can fine you at source. Now, by the way, don't even get me started about a central digital currency, because let's be honest, yeah, yeah, innit, if there is the removal of cash What's going to replace it? A central digital currency, i.e., a completely controlled by the system digital money supply. You think that's good? So, um, they could fine you, they can track and trace every single movement of your spending habits, They could reverse any payments or charges. They could, if they wanted to increase the money supply, they could literally say you've got to spend Ā£3,000 in the next 3 weeks or we're taking that money. They can literally do what they want. They could create a virtual, digital, universal credit system. Now the quandary I'm in here is that cash is being devalued hard. Inflation, quantitative easing, etc. So it's becoming more worthless, yet it represents that small amount of financial and monetary freedom which I want to hold on to. And as soon as you take that from me, as soon as you control my money digitally, then maybe you control me fully. And I don't like the thought, and I don't like the prospect. Also, look at fairness. Many people in the working class, they budget with cash. Many people in the working class don't have access to a bank account or even the internet in many parts of the world. So what's a cashless society going to do for them? I mean, that feels really unfair, really unfair. So cashless society is a nightmare. I resist I persist to resist, and I stand against it for as long as I can until it becomes inevitable. Maybe things like the pandemic and the lockdown andā oh, the virus will, um, transfer through money. No cash, don't take any cash. Um, you know, maybe that wasā I don't know, I'm just a bit skeptical on the reasons that the system and the government do the things that they do. You want to be as decentralized as you can, because by the way, if it's a central digital currency that can freeze your assets, take your money, create deadlines to spend money, steal your money, turn your savings into government assets, they can do what they want. And what's to stop you? Let me know what you think in the comments, by the way. Uh, really interesting to read all the comments. I can see them coming in. Let me know what you think about the the comments. Now Russell has raised a good quandary here. Russell has said, but Rob, weren't you talking about not having cash a little while ago? Yes, I was. Did youā did youā I'm here a couple of minutes ago, I said about the quandary that I'm in. On the one hand, cash is depreciating hard, it is going down in value. You need money in assets, not in cash. That doesn't mean I want a cashless society. It doesn't mean I want a centralized, controlled digital currency and essentially universal credit system. And by the way, it doesn't mean I want to put cash into digital currency, centralized. I want to put cash into assets. I want decentralized assets, decentralized money. Like, your freedom is linked to your finances and your money. And if you have a fair and reasonable amount of money for the work that you do, and you have assets that produce income, then you have a certain amount of freedom. And that's taken away from you if your assets are centralized and owned by the government, which technically a central digital currency could create. So you want to make sure you're as decentralized as possible. Property and real estate is quite decentralized right now, certainly in the Western world. Gold, physical gold, is pretty decentralized. Nothing is 100% decentralized because we're all part of the system. But property, gold, Bitcoinā these are decentralized assets. And in a way, cryptocurrencies are a bit too volatile and a bit too new, um, but what I like about them is they challenge the centralized digital currency nature of the governments and central banks that it looks like they might want to move into. So you want the, um, the way to resist a cashless society, the way to resist being financially controlled by the system is to be as decentralized as possible. And cash is decentralization, because when you've got cash, it's yours and no one could take it from you, and you can store it wherever you want. So cash is decentralization. Cashless society is centralization, globalization, and control. Not on my watch, you evil bastards, you. So, all right, cool. What can you do about it then? Let's look at some solutions. Number 1: Get as much of your money out of cash. I know that's a paradox and ironic in what I'm saying, but money is a depreciating liability, but it is freedom. But if you put depreciating liability of money into appreciating assets of gold and real estate, and maybe a bit of Bitcoin for example, then you're more decentralized, you are more free, you have more control. So that's the first thing that you want to do. The next thing is you want to resist centralization and globalization. Resist a central digital currency. Resist a cashless society. Buy independent. You know, where you can pay cash, pay cash. Look, there's downsides to paying cash, but many independentsā like, I get my hairā well, not, not done recently, but I get my haircut from a guy and I just pay him cash and just help a little bit. So buy independent, buy from boutiques, source locally, and resist these massive conglomerate corporations where you can. These are things that you can actually do. Okay, so someone has said my local kebab shop only accepts cash, not sure why. I think I'm pretty sure why. Are they walking down the bank and putting all of that cash in the bank and declaring that as tax? No, no, they're not. Well, I can't say, but they're probably not. Um, but, um, the governments would love a cashless society. Because no one would be able to tax avoid. They would be able to charge in advance or in real time for tax and control money supply digitally and track all of your spending habits. And for me, this is not right. It's too much control, not enough freedom. So look, if you'd like to create financial freedom, financial independence, if you would like to beat the money system at its own game, learn how to invest in a decentralized way to create multiple streams of recurring income and beat the system and beat inflation and beat taxation, I recommend you join Rob.team. If they decide they want to fine us, they can just fine us digitally and just take it out at source. And to me, that is a scary thought. That is a scary, scary thought.
