So it's actually happened. Elon Musk has agreed to buy Twitter. When I said that this could happen, a lot of people did not believe it would happen, but it is breaking news just now that Elon Musk strikes a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion, and it's just been approved by the Twitter board. Wow, wow, wow. So breaking news, Elon Musk have agreed to sell Twitter to— I am very excited about this, as you might be able to see. A lot of people didn't think this was going to happen. The board of Twitter said that the offer was too low. They kind of mocked the offer. Elon Musk went and raised the money and proved He had the money. He said he's a purist for free speech and that he wanted to make some improvements to Twitter. The board pushed him back. They even had a clause which basically would stop him purchasing Twitter. And the deal is done. Elon Musk. Elon Musk. Wow, wow, wow. So Mr. Musk who made the shock bid less than 2 weeks ago, said that Twitter had tremendous potential that he would unlock. And what he said is the following. So here's— I'm going to read you exactly the quote. Hit the share button. This is just broken. Hit the share button. Let everyone know. I think this is huge for social media. I've been willing this to happen, and it's finally happened. So Mr. Musk says, quote, Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated. I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating humans. Twitter has tremendous potential. I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it. This is huge. This could have just completely changed the game in social media. Elon Musk, what he touches turns to gold. I know a lot of people don't like Elon Musk. I think he's a legend. So let me unpick what he said here, because I think it's really important. Please hit the share button, this is big news. Okay, so free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy. I agree with that, we all agree with that. I see so many of you commenting about this, and we have been losing free speech. We have not had proper free speech. The big tech social media platforms, they have been canceling us, deplatforming us. The algorithms have been controlling us. And Elon Musk, a proven free speech purist, says let's see what happens, but he says he's bringing back free speech as the bedrock on Twitter. That's the first thing, and I think that's really good. The next thing he said is Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated. So it will be interesting to see how he develops Twitter and how he makes it more this digital town square of humanity. I want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features. Well, that's generic, so we'll see what comes of that. What new features do you think that Elon Musk is going to be putting on Twitter? If you've just tuned in, breaking news, Elon Musk has bought Twitter. I told you he would. I was willing for it to happen. My $20 in made all the difference. But so many people are like, ah, it's not going to happen. It's happened. Oh, the war with Russia, not going to happen. It happened. Oh, Brexit, not going to happen. It happened. Oh, lockdown's not going to happen. It happened. Honestly, nothing is going to surprise me anymore. Now, this is massive news. I'm going to do a live on this tomorrow, by the way. So, um, yeah, um, Sean Paul has just said Trump doesn't sound happy. Trump got in with the launch of Truth First. Trump had a run on Elon Musk, and they have been months overdue. They, um, I think they've probably underestimated how much money it takes to launch a social media platform, um, and I think Elon Musk has stolen the march. And yes, I was right, Daniel. Okay, so making the algorithms open source to increase trust. I just saw some great news today. The social media channels are going to have to be transparent with their algorithms. Social media has needed this forever. Social media has needed more regulation. It's needed disruption. And there hasn't been enough intervention. Now, often I think governments intervene too much, like too much tax and too many lockdowns. But they haven't intervened enough, in my humble opinion, with social media. They haven't kept the big tech companies accountable. There's been too much cancelling, too much deplatforming, too much opaqueness with the algorithms and us being controlled by algorithms and not even knowing what's going on. And Elon Musk says he's making the algorithms open source. This is brilliant news. This is what should be happening on social media. We should not be controlled and manipulated by algorithms. We should work with algorithms. And so to have open-source algorithms to increase trust, this is really good news. Now, one thing I will say is he's just done the deal today, and of course he's going to put some nice PR messages out there. He hasn't done it yet, so let's see. Let me know what you think is going to happen. Let me know if you think that Twitter being bought by Elon Musk I think it's a great thing. He says he wants to defeat the spam bots. Well, anything that gets rid of fake accounts, trolls, has got to be great. Too many fake accounts, too many trolls on social media, full stop. That needs to be controlled. Now, I am going to do some video content on this tomorrow. Because actually, fair play to the regulators. They're starting to step in. And defamation and hate and trolling, the laws are tightening. And also there has been an announcement that social media channels will have to be more transparent with their algorithms. Hallelujah! Sorry, I'm getting excited. Hallelujah! I actually had 2 drinks tonight. I don't drink. I'm excited. Hallelujah! Finally, algorithms more transparent and bots and trolls and hate and defamation more control. Okay, so if you're just tuning in, hit the share button because Elon Musk has just done a deal. The board have agreed to accept Elon Musk's offer of $44 billion to buy Twitter. I'm going to read again what he said. I think this is great. Why? Number 1, free speech. Number 2, free speech from a massive existing platform. I thought free speech would come in from a disruptor platform, Truth or Rumble or a new platform. Problem with that is it costs billions to build the scale of Twitter or Facebook or Instagram or YouTube. And Elon Musk has made a really smart play here and bought an existing one with billions of users so he can make an immediate difference. So I think this is huge. So Elon Musk says he's a purist of free speech. He has bought one of the biggest social media platforms that exists. Therefore, he can get to work making it a pure free speech platform. And I think the other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. will have to follow suit. It has been needed for years— better free speech, less censorship, less, um, canceling and shadow banning. And deplatforming. This could be the biggest news in media of this decade. It really could be. Um, also, I think that it's fantastic news that we've got a privatization of a social media company and not, you know, owned by shareholders and, you know, shareholder value being the main driver. Now it's going to be a privately owned company. I think that could be huge too, because actually someone can do what they think is right and not just for shareholder growth and value. So this is what Elon Musk said: Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated. And clearly Elon Musk wants to make Twitter a free speech platform again. He wants to have an open-source algorithm, which is great as well. I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential. I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it. And yes, I will be on Twitter more. I think this is great news. So let me know what you think. Elon's done the deal. Lots doubted Elon. Lots doubted me when I was supporting Elon. Now it's actually going to happen. Now shit's going to get interesting. Now social media could be disrupted. Watch out, Big Tech. Watch out, cancel culture. Watch out, woke culture. Watch out for all the mainstream media trying to ban you and deplatform you and censor you and control you. Watch out, because Elon Musk is getting in his rocket, he's getting in his Tesla, and he's taking over this town. Thanks for tuning in. Hit the share button. Awesome news. Let me know what you think. And remember this: if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
