Elon Musk gets $23bn bonus š²

Rob Moore explains how Elon Musk earned a $23 billion bonus through Tesla's decade-long performance plan, requiring him to hit specific market and revenue targets. Musk took no salary during the ten years, and Tesla hit $1.1 trillion in market value with a 1,600% share-price rise. Critics call the payout excessive and want redistribution, but Moore argues removing such incentives would hurt innovation.

So Elon Musk is getting a $23 billion bonus.
Oh, wait for all the people to come out complaining, no human being should have that many billions.
Just wait for it all. Now I'm going to tell you the announcement, how he's earned the $23 billion, the moral question of whether someone should be paid $23 billion. In fact, a member of the Patriotic Millionaires UK, a group of super rich people campaigning for a more equal society, someone has something to say about Elon Musk's $23 billion bonus. Most people don't know how it was structured, how it worked. They don't know the fact that he took no salary No dividends, no drawings, completely 100% risk on Elon Musk. Anyway, let me tell you what's going on here. So Elon Musk looks like he's about to get a $23 billion bonus because a decade plan that he arranged with the board of Tesla, with the company, he has overachieved those targets early.
Social media is going to be full of people pissed off and complaining and campaigning against Elon Musk, $23 billion, he's criminal.
No freaking idea what was actually created and what he did. So Tesla made an adjusted profit of $5 billion on a revenue of $18.8 billion in the first quarter of the year, led by, driven by the visionary Elon Musk. This is an 81% increase on the same period a year earlier. Do you think anyone other than Elon Musk could have taken Tesla from nothing, competing against Toyota and massive car manufacturers, competing against the oil industry? Who else other than Elon Musk could have taken on those giants and changed the world and changed us from fossil fuel to battery-powered cars? That would be no one. He is a unicorn and he should get paid like a unicorn, in my humble opinion. So Elon Musk is in line for the bonus payout after Tesla hit their share price and financial growth milestones. I've got the article here, sorry I have to look down. The company outlined an extraordinary deal for Elon Musk in 2018 that would pay him an unprecedented $55.8 billion bonus, but only, get this, He built the business into a $650 billion company within a decade, and he smashed it by January 2020. And he was given no salary, no drawings, and no compensation in that time. I.e., if he did not hit that target, he'd have earned nothing in 10 years. Tell me who else would have done that. Tell me what socialist would have done that, what complainer, what moaner, what campaigner would have done that. That would be none. He is a very influential and powerful person. Now people will say, oh yeah, but imagine what you could do with all that money in the world with poverty. Well, he is giving billions away. Jeff Bezos is giving billions away. Um, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are giving billions away, and they wouldn't be able to give the billions away if they didn't earn the billions. And oh, what happens if we give the government all the money? So Elon Musk has no salary, no drawing, no compensation. If he doesn't hit a target of turning Tesla into a $650 billion company, he earns nothing. So he does that.
He's allowed nothing.
And then, oh, let's give Elon's $23 billion to the government to distribute, you know, across the third world.
No, the government will waste it. They will pilfer it. They will spend it on their politician bonuses and their lockdown parties.
People need to wise up with economics and finance and how it works and how we need these billionaires. Or even if we don't think we need them, we're always going to get them. So smash these targets. Tesla has a market value now of $1.1 trillion. It had a 1,600% share price rise, um, from when the target was set in January 2018. Um, Marcus said, I bet he's happy. Well, he's not taking it in salary or dividends or drawings. He's actually taking itā it's a share deal, but it's a pretty amazing share deal. So Elon Musk collects no salary from Tesla. And what he's done is now unlocked the final 3 parts of a 12-tranche bonus scheme. Eachā get thisā each tranche gives Elon Musk the right to buy 8.4 million in Tesla shares. At $70 a share, which is a massive discount on the $977 a share price of the stock. So he doesn't draw any of the money. He just keeps buying Tesla stock, buying Tesla stock, buying Tesla stock, growing Tesla, growing Tesla, growing Tesla.
And all these hippies saying, oh, take all the money off him, no one should have that amount of money.
Tesla would not be the company that it is without his reinvestment, his reinvestment, his reinvestment. Be careful of spammers and hackers on here, by the way. People set up fake profiles looking like they're me. They've got the same profile as me. Just be careful. I don't ask you for anything, DM you and try and sell you anything. Just watch it because it goes on quite a lot. So Elon Musk's profit on each tranche of 8.4 million Tesla shares could be $7.7 billion, which is a combined value of $23 billion. His financial reward for turning Tesla and taking them to a $650 billion company. So my question is, what do you think about this? What do you think about Elon Musk? Is this fair exchange? Is this fair reward for the work that he does and the value that he brings to the world? Or do you believe that he's paid too much and no one should have that amount of money and he should be taxed a lot more? Let me know what you think. Hit the share button because this is big news and this isā this should be discussed. You know, these are things that really affect what's going on in the world, you know, with all these billionaires that are making their billions. Are they paying enough tax? A lot of people think that, you know, they're just making too much money and they're too greedy and too powerful. I think these people don't understand economics and they need to learn economics. That's my thoughts. Hit the share button. So, um, Julia Davis, a member of Patriotic Millionaires UK, a group of super rich people campaigning for a more equal society, said Musk's mega payday was a perfect answer to the question, when does a person have too much money? So let me know what you think about this, by the way. Um, what could one human possibly need with a bonus of $23 billion? It's time we give big money a meaning instead of allowing it to just be a number attached to a person. How many millions of people could be lifted out of current fuel poverty, uh, through energy efficiency and renewable installations with that bonus instead of giving one man an even greater fortune to play God with? Well, number one, he hasn't been given it in cash. He's been given it in stock. So do your research. Number two, do your research into what Elon Musk is doing for society. Campaigning for free speech, giving Ukraine internet connection when it gets invaded by Russia. Look at the charities involved in, look at the companies that is involved in that are changing the world. Well, if you take all of that money off of him, he can't go and progress humanity. A lot of these big billionaires, they are doing a lot of energy efficiency, renewable energy. They are helping the third world. They are giving money to get rid of poverty. Bill Gates has virtually got rid of many diseases in the developing world. There are billionaires giving all their money away. Billionaires create billions in taxes around them. They have this massive GDP around them, all the I'll just list them in the UK. In the UK, you have VAT of 20%, corporation tax of 18%, going up to 25%. You have income tax, which is pretty hefty, up to 40-odd percent. You have a business rate. You have national insurance for the employer, national insurance for the employee. It goes on and on and on. And all the employees, all their tax paid, which isā who are employed by these billionaires, Billionaires generate billions in economic revenue. A lot of people just don't understand this. Someone's got to defend the billionaires. So when Tesla revealed the bonus plan in 2018, get this, right? Elon will receive no guaranteed compensation of any kind. No salary, no cash bonuses, and no equity that vests by the passage of time. Instead, Elon's only compensation will be 100% at-risk performance award, which ensures that he will only be compensated if Tesla and all of our stockholders do extraordinarily well. So let me answer this. Who else in this world would work for up to 10 years for no pay of any kind and only get paid if they hit a massive target reward, which is probably really hard? For example, Tesla being worth $650 billion. No one would do that except Elon Musk, and he's just gone and done it. And yet all theseā I'm telling you, you will see across social media people bitching and moaning and hating on Elon Musk's $23 billion bonus. It's unfair, it's wrong, it's immoral.
That could feed the entire third world.
Well, it probably will because he probably will give that money away. He'll probably do a poll on Twitter, who thinks I should give $10 billion to, you know, the developing world, and they'll vote yes and he'll do it. In fact, he even said, um, someone tweeted him and said X amount of money can get rid of all poverty in the third world. And he said, go and show me a plan that will actually work and I'll give the money. And lo and behold, no freaking plan. Anyway, let me know what you think in the comments. Hit the share button. Um, and breaking news is that Elon Musk just earned a $23 billion bonus in a 12-bonus tranche system where he hits certain targets. He hit these targets years early, taking Tesla to $650 billion in, um, evaluation. He had no compensation in that decade-long plan, um, just a bonus incentive scheme. And what he's able to do is, um, buy shares at $70 a share when they're worth about $977 a share. And that bonus scheme that he's hit early equates to about $23 billion. So is that right? Is that wrong? Is that morally fair? How do we help the developing world and the underprivileged people? I actually think many billionaires are. I've done the research. Let me know what you think in the comments. Hit the share button.
Wait for all these woke people to come out and have a massive go at Elon Musk, who ironically, these people are a drain on society.
They're consumers, not producers. They've never built and done anything. Meaningful. They just bitch and moan and leech. Let me know what you think.
