How I’d Fix the Economy (Fire the Govt.)

Entrepreneur Rob Moore proposes ten steps to fix the UK economy: shrink government, raise PM salaries, create a billionaire advisory board, privatize public services, and eliminate first-year business taxes. He argues the economy fails because it's not run like a business.

how I'd fix the economy in 10 simple steps as an entrepreneur of 20 years who actually knows how to run an economy, because a business is an economy. But the UK economy is not an economy because it's insolvent and it's not run as a business, and none of the major players in the Labour government have ever run a business. So is it any surprise that the pound is down 10% and that our economy is not growing and there's tens of thousands of millionaires leaving the UK? So here are my 10 simple steps. I'd love your thoughts, by the way. Please share. How you might fix the economy. I think it's important that we all speak out about these things. So number one is I would fire most of the existing government because it's bloated and it needs to be lean. So I did a bit of research. There are 548,000 civil servants and 6.1 million people employed by the government in the public sector. And yet NHS is screwed, transport is screwed, the police is screwed. So something is going really wrong. And obviously in America, Elon Musk has come in, Department of Government Efficiency. He's modeling what he did in Twitter. He went into Twitter and he fired 80% of the staff. Didn't seem to affect the general day-to-day running of Twitter. So it's bloated, it's bureaucratic. And it needs to be leaned up. I've got over 100 staff and I found that as we approached 80 and 100 staff, you'd think things get quicker but they get slower. There's more layers of management. We need to speed things up. Number 2, and this has been getting some criticisms, but I'd probably increase the salaries of the Prime Minister and the major people, you know, the Chancellor, the people who manage the money in the government, because actually barely over 6 figures for the Prime Minister for the amount of work that's required And, you know, they're essentially running a trillion-dollar economy and they're getting paid $100-odd grand. No wonder they're taking bungs and, you know, no wonder they're pocketing and creating policy that gives them kickbacks. So I'd actually increase the salaries of some of the higher positions because I want them to be really freaking good. You know, I'm not just a hater of Labour and politicians. I want them to be really good. Number 3, in government, I'd create a board of all the best UK entrepreneurs and billionaires. I'd bring them all back. James Dyson, come back. Richard Branson, come back. Come and be a board member in UK PLC. And let me use your collective experience in running billion-pound companies to grow the economy again, because they're the people that know. Number 4 is I'd offer fair tax breaks for overseas billionaires. For all the, um, UK entrepreneurs we exiled, but I would get them to pay more tax. So these billionaires who are paying no corporation tax, I'd say, look, come on, come back. Look, I'm going to give you some tax breaks, but pay your fair share. And I'd do a deal with them just like Donald Trump did when he came into power, um, the last time around. He got all the big entrepreneurs, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and started like trying to do deals with them. I think it's really smart. Um, so number 5, I'd lure all these exiled billionaires back into the UK. We need the billionaire revenue, we need the big corporation revenue, we need all the employment, we need all the jobs, we know we need all the tax generation and revenue. Number 6 is I'd privatize most of the public services. So, um, a lot of people say in my post, ah, well, free markets don't work and capitalism doesn't work and trickle-down economics doesn't work. It hasn't been given a fair chance because it's not been done properly. Because you've either got over or under-regulation. Lockdown was over-regulation. So if you get the right balance of regulation, then I really believe privatization and free markets and fair competition absolutely can work. Um, number 7 is anyone coming into the UK has to offer value, and if they offer value, let's bring them in. Really up for that. If they don't offer value, they don't get in, or they need to leave. Um, and I think that that's really important. Just like if you're running a company, you hire someone because they offer value, you fire someone because they don't offer value. Um, number 8 is I would reduce taxes or even have no taxes for the first year of starting a business. You've got to regulate that, make sure it's per director, not per company, so they don't just start, stop, start, stop. But, um, I think we need to encourage people to start a business. I'd support small business owners, I'd support entrepreneurs, I'd support startups, I'd give them tax breaks, incentives, Grants. Let's fire up the economy through small business because that's most of the economy. Number 9 is I'd launch these apprentice schemes and I'd get the homeless and the unemployed back to work by learning really good practical labor jobs, which we really need in the UK. And then number 10 is I'd fully invest in tech and AI, especially in things like public services like NHS. I think AI could really help public services. It could really help the police. And it's not being used enough. We had a big budget in the UK for AI and they, when Labour came in, they cut it. So that's what I would do to grow the economy. Let me know what you would do to grow the economy in the comments. Do you agree with what I've said? Do you disagree? I'd love to know your thoughts. And look, there's one other thing I would add to grow the economy is to grow your economy. Because, you know, I'm on a mission to help as many people on this planet get better financial knowledge. Been doing this for 20 years. I help people start and scale businesses, make, manage, and multiply money. And if at the grassroots education everyone is taught how to make, manage, and multiply money and give them better financial education and knowledge, then that is the tide that lifts all the ships of the economy. So you, you sort out your economy and that helps the economy. Um, and, and that's why I launched the Millionaire Maker program. Today is the last day for applications. Offering these billionaires fair tax breaks but getting them to pay a bit more. Luring all the exiled billionaires and entrepreneurs back to the UK to bring all their money here. Privatize most of the public services and actually create a proper free market. If people offer value, we let them into the UK. If they don't offer value, we exit them from the UK. No tax for the first year on starting a business. Launching apprentice schemes to get homeless and unemployed people doing important labor jobs. And number 10, fully investing in tech and AI to revolutionize public services like the police and the NHS. Let me know what you think.
