How to Cash in on a Recession (Crash) ⚠️

Rob Moore argues that recessions create wealth for those who act fast. He outlines five steps: identify where capital is moving (toward creators and influencers), build lean digital businesses, buy depressed assets at the lowest price, be aggressive when others are fearful, and prepare now with better financial education and networks.

How to cash in on a recession. Lots of people have been saying to me, yeah, Rob, you're talking about the doomsday depression coming, but how can I actually cash in on it? How can I turn it to my advantage? And I believe that there could be a global or economic recession, but you could be in aggression. I believe you could cash in on a crash, and I believe that you could be greedy when others are fearful. So, um, number one way to cash in on a crash is to look to where the money is moving to. So if you want to know where the money is moving to, you have to look at where the money has moved from. So in 2008, a lot of money moved away from the banks and it moved towards private investors property investors, um, and some social media and tech companies. So out of 2008 recession, many of these big tech social media companies, they didn't just survive, they thrived, and they even grew out of it. So right now, money is moving away from retail and high street. It's actually also moving away from big tech. I don't know if you've noticed Twitter, most of the staff have left. Facebook laying off 13,000 people. Amazon lost a trillion in value. So actually, money is moving away from big tech. So where's it moving to? It's moving to influencers, creators, the YouTubers, podcasters, short-form video editors. You know, there's a massive influx now of these kids on TikTok making a really good living doing short-form perform video editing. So rule number 1 of cashing in on the crash is instead of looking at the, the problem and where the money is moving away from, look at the solution and where the money is moving towards. The second way to cash in on a crash is to make sure that your business model is lean and fast and low cost. So what would be a lean, fast, low-cost business model? It might be content on social media. So you're turning your passion into your profession, your message into a mission, into money, because you only need an iPhone or a laptop. Cameras are great on the iPhone now. That's all you need, and you can start a business educating, informing, entertaining, inspiring, connecting, and building a community. Another great lean business model is It's a membership site because a membership site, um, you can put the content on Patreon or Locals. You can do it on your iPhone. You don't need staff, you don't need premises, you don't need stock, you've not got overhead. And then, you know, I have nearly 10,000 members of Rob.team, uh, and I've built that up over not that many months. So you want to think fast, lean, agile. Zoom absolutely soared in, in the lockdown. Some of the delivery companies soared in the lockdown. Now, delivery companies probably were struggling a little bit before the lockdown, and then of course they boomed. So where's the money going from and to? What old business models are being disrupted so that the new business models can take over? And what business models are lean and agile and fast? What business models can you do anywhere in the world, in any device, in any hotel, in any country, in any office? The world is now your office, and information-based businesses are a great, great way to do that. Now, a lot of people think, yeah, but Rob, I don't know anything. You do. Or everyone's talking about it. No, they're not. And the thing at the moment is, because there's a lot of fear, there's loads of fear about the recession, the depression, tax, the New World Order, the Great Reset, the grand rising, the Klaus Schwab World Economic Forum, and lockdown, all of this stuff. There's so much fear around that. Really useful information in a specific niche is what a lot of people need to be guided through these very challenging times. So don't underestimate the power of a great information business. My information business peaked at £21 million, dropped a bit in lockdown, although the profit went up, and it's moving back towards that now. And I help people start and scale their business, get better financial education and knowledge, invest in assets, build a property portfolio. Okay, right, the next thing, um, to cash in on the crash is you want to buy depressed assets. So, um, if you'd tried to buy property a year to two ago, you'd have been almost at the peak of the market, or that's what it feels like. And it had been very expensive to get in. First-time buyer, really hard to get in. Um, watches and even secondhand cars had all dramatically gone up in value. So the masses don't like a recession, depression, or crash because I suppose they get, um, sucked into the mainstream media fearmongering and they can't see the opportunity. And but actually, you want to buy assets at the cheapest price, not the highest price, because you get the highest yields, the highest return on investments. And you get the highest net cash flows. The higher the price, the higher your mortgage or your loan against the asset is, therefore the lower the cash flow is. But if you have a correction in price, then you've got lower purchase price, higher growth potential, lower loan against the asset, and therefore you've got a much higher cash flow and a much higher return. Now Marcus just said here money was cheap. Yeah, money was cheap for many years, and money is not so cheap anymore. But the higher cost in money will push the asset prices down because the assets can't keep going up as the cost of money goes up. Because as the cost of money goes up, if the assets continue to go up, no one could afford to buy the assets or maintain the assets. So actually, inflation high, interest rates going high, cost of money high is likely to push the prices down. And that's actually a good thing for buying. It's obviously not necessarily a good thing for selling, but, um, like I said, the masses, you want to observe them and do the opposite. And usually what the masses do are perpetuated by the mainstream media fear, and they're like, shit, I better sell, oh, it's going down. So they sell below market value, and then you buy below market value. So let me know in the comments if you're finding this useful so far. I'm also going to give you a few tips on actually investing in the crash or crisis. So number 1 is the paradox of cash. So the paradox of cash is if you have a lot of cash, when prices go down and there's a recession, depression, then you could go into aggression and you can buy loads of assets cheap. But if you have too much cash, inflation is killing it at 14.1% minimum a year in inflation. So I actually don't think it's great to hold massive amounts of cash. I think it's great to be liquid. So being liquid is, okay, I've got money in my ISAs, I've got money in my stock market, I've got money in liquid assets that I could liquidate, I've got private financiers, a good network of millionaires and billionaires, I've got a great black book of contacts. So I think you'd be— want to be more about liquid than having large amounts of cash. Now some of you might not have any cash, so you need to be resourceful. You might not have the resources of cash, so therefore you need to be resourceful of accessing cash. Who have you got in your WhatsApp contacts? Are you lendable and investable? Would private financiers invest in a deal if you found it? Because by the way, usually good money finds a good deal. So you have to find good deals, but then you have to be good at presenting those good deals and those opportunities. Okay, now the saying, observe the masses and do the opposite, and the saying, be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy. Means that you've got to be more aggressive when the world is defensive, and then you've got to be more defensive when the world is aggressive. So I've been relatively defensive in the last 2 or 3 years, um, in investing. And people would think, yeah, but we've had a boom. But, um, I just think there's going to be a massive crash coming. I really do. I think it's going to be worse than 2008. And not everyone agrees with that, by the way, and that's fine. Everyone's entitled to my opinion. Um, but, but when the world is defensive, I will be aggressive. And I am looking forward to buying low-priced properties, low-priced watches, and I'll continue to buy gold, low-priced stocks, low-priced even Bitcoin and crypto, low-priced businesses. So actually could be a great opportunity for you. Um, do you know the difference between an asset and an investment? Let me know in the comments if you do. Um, you need to be ready to buy. You need to be ready now, not ready when the market crashes. Because some people say, yeah, we're already in a recession, and technically maybe we are, maybe we're not quite. Um, but I feel like the roller coaster's just been picking up at the top and it's just— the roller coaster's just hanging, it's off the cliff and bang, it's going to go down. But if you wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, and they're like, yeah, the market's crashed. It's too late. It's far too late. So you have to be ready rather than get ready. How do you be ready? Okay, educate yourself, build up your network, get good connections, um, get yourself in some good communities where there are investors and entrepreneurs, um, make sure you go on courses or join masterminds or read books or follow maybe people like me me. Make sure you get all your ducks in a row of investability and liquidity, and make sure that you're lendworthy, you know, and your credit score is really good. And do all of this now. Get it ready now. Because what a lot of people do, they're just— some people are just too scared to do anything. Some people, um, are gonna wait till the perfect time. And actually, the ones who wait till the perfect time, because there's never a perfect time, they never get in the market, and then they miss it, and they're like, shit, I missed it. Have to wait for the next recession. So you need to be ready. Um, cool. So let me know what you think about that. And I think the, uh, depression is coming, not just a recession. And I think it's going to be big and hard and long. And I think we've already seen Amazon drop by a trillion, all these massive tens of thousands of layoffs in Facebook and Twitter and all these other big tech companies. A lot of people are pissed off with big tech companies. And now there's a bit of a correction. So big tech companies have probably had a bit of a monopoly, haven't they? Um, and now that monopoly is becoming, um, decentralized. It's becoming disrupted. And actually, um, it's probably a good time to start an online business. And the competition, or at least the monopolization from big tech companies, is being broken up. There's these disruptive social media channels starting. Everyone can be a creator now. There's teenagers becoming billionaires in Bitcoin. There's influencers and creators making millions on TikTok just doing home videos on their phone. So actually an amazing opportunity. Now if you feel like there is an amazing opportunity but you don't really know where to start, you don't know what to do, you don't know how to invest, you don't know what assets to invest in, you don't know how to get resourceful, you don't know how to line up finance because maybe you haven't got a lot of finance and you're not yet exactly sure what to do, I recommend you join Rob.team. So go and join so that you can invest in the crash, make money while others are struggling, start and scale your business, start a side hustle. Build multiple streams of income, build digital assets and resources. I'll even show you in Rob.team how you can build your own membership site like Rob.team. And the reason it's only the, what, £6 a month, 20 pence a day, is because actually before lockdown, all of these courses you'd have to buy individually. But I decided to, um, help as many people on this planet through lockdown that I could, realizing that a lot of people would struggle. So, um, I actually put most of my online courses into Rob.team. Only Rob.team members can get them now. You can't buy them individually. Some of them cost $200 and some of them cost $1,500. But if you join Rob.team for 20p a day, you can get access to all of that. There's hundreds of hours of content going back years. So, um, this is, um, this is why I changed the pricing model so that basically anyone could join. Because if you're not prepared to invest 20 pence a day into yourself, then there's a lot bigger problems you have, believe me. Because you are worth it. And if you don't really invest in yourself and your knowledge and education, maybe you don't value yourself enough. And if you value yourself, the world will value you. And if you invest in yourself, the world will invest in you. So go join rob.team. Costs less than 20 pence a day. Cancel anytime. No ongoing contract. So I'll see you in Rob.team. It's really easy to join, no ongoing contract, cancel anytime. Type in rob.team, rob.team, because right now we are just on the edge of what looks like it could be a huge crash. And people misunderstand me, they think that I'm being a doom monger. I believe I'm being a reality monger, and I believe that there is a huge opportunity coming. In 2008, I bought dozens of properties for between £35,000 to £70,000, which have all now pretty much Some of them are tripled in value, some of them have just over doubled in value. And, um, that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the recession. I scaled my training business to be a little startup in my bedroom to the biggest training business in property in the UK thanks to the recession of 2008. And it's— history is repeating again. So actually, for many of you who are movers, shakers, and action takers who know that if you don't risk anything, you risk everything, many of you are going to cash in on this crash. And you're going to look back in a few years and go, holy shit, That launched my 7-figure business. Some of you who've watched me live most days and still haven't joined rob.team are going to look back in a few years and go, hey, fuck yeah, Rob talked about that every single day and I did nothing and I'm still broke. And I don't want that to happen for you. So final chance, go join rob.team. Just type in r-o-b dot t-e-a-m, rob.team. I'll see you in the members area. We've got a WhatsApp group, we have ask me anything Lives every Sunday on the Sunday Sessions. We've got a community of nearly 10,000 movers, shakers, changemakers, and members now. Are you going to be one of the members? Are you going to be in the club? I'll see you in rob.team. And let me know what you think in the comments about the crash coming up. Do you think it's going to be big and hard and long? Um, do you feel, um, that there's an opportunity? Or do you think, think that it's not going to be as bad as I think? Uh, I interviewed someone who managed about $150 billion, $160 billion in pension fund money. He didn't think the recession was going to be anywhere near as bad as 2008, which surprised me greatly. I'd love your thoughts in the comments. Thanks for tuning in, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
