How to Cash IN on a BIG Crash

Rob Moore argues a major market crash is coming and outlines seven ways to profit from it. He recommends staying liquid with income-producing assets like gold, property, and stocks rather than holding cash, and using pound-cost averaging to time entries. He also promotes his membership at rob.team for investing masterclasses and digital business coaching.

Hi, it's Rob Moore here. How to cash in on a big crash. This is going to be a quick one because I'm going out, out, as you can see. So do you think the crash that's coming will be a correction, a recession, or a depression? Correction, small. Recession, medium. Depression, long and hard. I'd like your thoughts Let me know in the chat. I'm gonna share with you some ways to cash in on a big crash because I think there's definitely a crash coming. It was 2008, the last one. That's 15 years ago. That's the normal length of a cycle, give or take a couple of years if you track back. So we're kind of probably due a correction anyway, let alone Brexit, COVID lockdown, Wars, massive inflation, taxation, soaring cost of living, food, fuel, energy, gas, you name it. There's so many more variables and factors that have stressed the economy, stressed businesses, and therefore I think that this recession is coming. Now, I asked you if you thought it would be a correction, a recession, or a depression. So I'm not going to share my thoughts on that just yet. Just— all right, Neil, I'll get to the point. So I'm going to share with you some ways to cash in on the, on the crash. Number 1 is you've got to be ready for it. You've got to expect it. I think a lot of people are in some kind of denial that it won't happen or it won't be that bad. And then there's other people that are really scared that it'll be really bad. Interest rate's going to be really high, inflation's going to be really high, you know. So you've got to be ready. And how can you be ready? Well, if that's number 1, be ready, expect it. Number 2 is you've got to be liquid. And liquid is different from having cash, by the way. Having cash is liquidity, but liquidity is more than having cash. So if you had 50 grand, 100 grand, well, that's what you've got. And when you've run out and you've got to hope that the depression isn't going to burn all of that out, then you've got nothing left. Whereas liquidity is access to cash, buying power. So your buying power is all the assets that you've got that you could liquidate in a day or a week. Then it's the contacts book you've built over the years of partners, joint ventures, investors. So if you've got people who would invest in you and you're investable, then you're liquid. Because here's the thing, when the market corrects or there's a recession or a depression— remember, I'm still looking for your thoughts, correction, recession, or depression, in the comments. But when that happens, there's going to be massive buying opportunities. Classic cars are really high, they'll come down at some point. Watches are really high, they'll come down at some point. Real estate is really high, it will come down at some point. Many businesses are struggling, and therefore many of them unfortunately are going to probably, um, be put into bankruptcy. Revlon, a 19-year-old— 90-year-old company, this just happened. So there's going to be even opportunities to buy companies. So being liquid and not just having cash is really important. That's my second point. The third point is you can't save your way out of this. Susanna said I'm distracting with my bling. Okay, that's actually a new McQueen jacket. What do you think? Yeah, yay or nay? Let me know in the comments. But we don't follow Rob for fashion, otherwise I'd have 3 followers. So you can't save your way out of this. A lot of people are like, oh, you've got to save your way out of this. You can't have a coffee in the morning, you've got to go down to KFC and lick people's fingers for lunch and you've got to walk 17 miles to work. Shit, that's the way that you get through this. No, that's what people are telling you. The banks want you to save your way out of this because the banks want your cash, but then they're going to lend and invest your cash. £10 to the dollar, £10 to the pound, $10 to the dollar. They lend your money out at 10x. So actually, you can't save your way to wealth. You can't save your way out of a recession. Because inflation is double digits, cost of living is going through the roof, taxation is going through the roof. So if you can't save your way out of this, what do you do? You invest your way out of this. You invest in assets that produce recurring income. You start an online business, which we'll talk about in a minute. But you get your money out of cash and you get them— your money into assets. Now this brings me to my next point, which we must be on at least 5 by now, which is you need to pound cost average or dollar cost average? Because look, if, um, you think there's going to be a correction, a recession, or a depression— have you put it in the comments yet? And whatever you think, if you put all of your capital that you've got, or your— all your liquidity, in the next month or the next year, what if you mistime the market? What if it goes down even harder after you put your money in? You could mistime it. So pound or dollar cost averaging is when you invest in stages. So let's just say for ease and argument's sake you had $10K. You might do $2K this month, $2K next month, $2K month, $2K month, $2K month instead of $10K all in now. Or what a lot of people try and do, oh, I got my $10K, I'll hold my $10K, I'll wait for the market to drop. Oh, it's dropping. Oh, I'll wait for it to drop further. Oh, it's dropping. I'll wait for it to get to the bottom. Oh, it's dropping. Oh, it's gone back up. Oh, yeah. And they miss, they mistime it. So pound or dollar cost averaging in is putting your money in stages so you negate big drops. Now of course what that means is if it goes up, you may have missed a couple of investing opportunities, but, um, here's the next thing I think. So dollar or pound cost averaging. The next thing is whatever you're going to buy, make sure it's a long-term asset. So I buy gold, I buy watches, I buy classic cars, I buy property, real estate, I put my money in stocks, in some companies, in my ISAs, Everything I buy, I would hold for life. I could hold for life. Holding for life would mean I'd get more appreciation and more income. So instead of trying to trade it and buy in now and time the drop and all of that, unless you're a professional trader, which most people aren't, if you're going to get into an asset, get into an asset where you'd hold it for a long time. I've made some investing mistakes, haven't we all? I sold crypto, um, before or around about lockdown. Probably shouldn't have done that. Although price has corrected since. Um, and I've sold some watches which have tripled and quadrupled in value. I had a Patek Philippe Nautilus and Richard Mille which I sold good money and made a profit, and they doubled and then tripled. So I'm regretting that. And, um, look, I've done all right. I've got, what, 1,550 tenants, and I've— I think I've only sold what, 23, 25 properties out of hundreds that I've bought. And even I sold 23 flats, and I made really good money on it, like high six figures. Did we make a million? We probably did actually between us make more than a million, me and my business partner. Um, and now they've nearly tripled in value, so I kind of regret that. But hey, look, if you know Sometimes it's good to get the cash, but here's the thing: income is better than cash. So that's the next thing. Cash is not king, income is king. Cash is a lump, you get it, you get your tax bill, you halve it with your business partner, you halve it with your wife, you halve it with your 17 kids, you've got about £4.50 left. So the problem with cash is it doesn't go a huge— doesn't go really far, and it's a one-off pay event. Whereas if cash goes into assets and assets produce income, income is a weekly pay event or a monthly pay event. See what I mean? So hopefully you found— I think I covered 6 or 7 tips, did I, there, on, um, cashing in on a crash. Be ready, be liquid, make sure that you don't try and save your way out of this, you invest your way out of this. Make sure that you pound cost average and spread out your buying. Make sure you buy assets that produce income and not just capital. And the next thing is to start an online business. So people think when there's a recession or a depression or a crash They think in terms of buying assets because assets are going to come cheap. They are, definitely. But it's not just about buying assets, um, that are passive income or capital growth. So you'd buy a watch or you'd buy, um, gold or crypto in the hope that the capital would appreciate, but there's no income. Then you buy property in the hope that capital would appreciate and there's income. You buy a stock market in the hope that the stock would appreciate and there's income. So if you could buy assets cheap, then you get equity, then you get growth, and then you get income. So certain assets you can triple dip. So property is probably going to drop, so you buy it lower than it was worth, therefore there's equity when you buy, then you get capital appreciation when it recovers, so you've got extra growth, and you get income. So I like, um, assets with 3 types of income: equity, capital appreciation, and income. And that's what businesses give you. Now, if you end up buying a business as they go into recession and depressionary times, you may buy the business 30 pence in the pound, so you bought equity. Then you may add value and turn it around because you know the business, or the business appreciates in value, and then it makes profit through crash— through cash flow in a crash. Not cash flow into cash. So try and triple dip if you can on assets where they've got equity, capital appreciation, and income. And try and start an online business. Now the good thing about an online business, or buy one, is that you don't need staff, you don't need overhead, you don't need stock, you don't need premises, you don't need loans. So, um, you know, your social media content could be an online business. Information into income, content into cash flow, courses, masterminds, mentoring. Membership sites— these are all information-based business. Information is a trillion-dollar industry, I think. It's definitely— I think it's the third biggest industry in the world. You will watch me here to get information, so there's the proof. And my rob.team members area is a great example of information into income. Now I do you a major deal because I only charge you a large coffee and you can cancel any time. But I've got nearly 5,000 members who are in Rob.team because they can get information, education, and inspiration, and they can learn, earn, and invest. So if you'd like information, education, and inspiration, you'd like to learn, earn, and invest, you'd like to maybe even model what I do because I get 6 figures a month in income on social media organically, i.e., no ads and just doing my content. 7 figures a month when we add ads to that. And my personal brand is a 7-figure-a-month income generator. Sometimes it's 6, sometimes it's 7. Um, so my personal brand did £700,000 in about 2 weeks earlier this year. And it's information, it's, you know, educating people on starting a business, getting better financial education and knowledge. It's turning my passion into profit. My Content Into Cashflow. You'll learn what you didn't learn in school or at university. But instead of having to pay £50,000 a year and learn from tutors who are broke, you can pay a fiver a month, less than a large coffee, and you can learn from someone who's done a quarter of a billion in income from information. My training businesses have done more than a quarter of a billion in income. That's information into income. So if you'd like to learn how to do that, go and join rob.team.
