How to Fix a Broke Money Mindset

Rob Moore uses a visualization test to reveal your money mindset: imagine the richest house on the richest street in your city, then notice what kind of person you picture living there. If you see a greedy billionaire or drug dealer, your beliefs about wealth are blocking you. If you see a kind entrepreneur, you're open to it.

How to fix a broke money mindset. I have this very simple test to test your money mindset to see if you have a broke money mindset or a rich money mindset. Now, why would you want to know if you have a good, rich, or broke money mindset? Well, here's the thing. The skill set without the mindset will leave you upset. And it's all very well wanting to know how to get rich and wanting to know how to make money and wanting the strategies and tactics for that, but that's like putting more water in a bucket that has a hole in it. So you need to have a rich money mindset in order to make more money. And I have this quick, easy, and great little quiz that you can test. You can take this right now. I'm going to do this with you right now to test your broke money mindset to see if it's rich or broke, and then what you can do about it. So, um, let me know in the, in the comments if you think you've already got a rich or a broke money mindset. I'd love to know. Um, and all you need to do is— bear with me for what, 2 or 3 minutes, and I'm gonna run this test with you. Okay, so here's how to test if you have a rich or broke money mindset. Number 1, I want you to imagine driving down the richest street in your town or city. So imagine you're in your car and you're driving down the richest road. And what you're going to do— and do this with me right now, like, think about this— you're going to stop outside the biggest house. When you stop outside the biggest house, you're going to look at the biggest house, and you're going to imagine the kind of person that's living in the biggest house. And I want you to do that right now. In fact, you can write this in the comments. What kind of person do you think Lives in the richest house in your city. Have a think about what they might look like, what their sex might be, what their age might be, what their job might be, how they may have made money, what kind of human they are. Now, as you think about this person, this is a representation of what you believe about money. So let's say, for example, you think, well, it's a drug dealer, or you think it's a greedy, powerful, fat cat man in a suit. Then that is what you believe rich people are. And because you'd never want to be a drug dealer, or you'd never want to be a fat cat billionaire, you will always repel wealth. Because you have a poor or a broke money mindset. Let's say, for example, you thought, well, it's a philanthropist, it's an entrepreneur who's hustled over 20 years to learn how to make money. You know, they do good in the world. I want to go and meet this person, have dinner with them, find out, um, you know, what they're like, what they know. You know, they're honest, they're kind. Then this is a rich money mindset. And by the way, this is what I believe about the person that would live in that house. And that's, you know, said with humility, but that's why I'm rich. Someone said here, I imagine someone who was dishonest. Or, you know, if you imagine someone who cheats and lies and steals to make the money, you will never be rich because you would never want to be perceived as someone who cheats and lies and meals. So here's the fun— here's the really interesting thing, by the way, about this exercise: it's completely fictional. You drove down an imaginary street in an imaginary car, looked at an imaginary house, and imagined an imaginary person. It is not real. So the perception of who you imagined in the house is not real. You have made it up based on your experiences and beliefs in your own world. But of course, your perception is your reality. So if you want to now change a broke money mindset to a rich money mindset, here's what you need to do. You need to change your perception of what it takes to become rich, and you need to understand that you can be rich and you could be the person living in that house. But you will never be rich, and you will never be the person living in that house if your false, warped perception is they're fat, they're greedy, they're corporate billionaires, they cheat, they lie, they steal, they do illegal things. Now, if you imagine that person is kind, considerate, hardworking, does valuable things for the community, is a philanthropist, helps other people, is entrepreneurial, That's quite an attractive quality, by the way. Many rich people are that. I like to think I am that. That's a very attractive quality in, in a millionaire. And so then you, you have those qualities in yourselves, and therefore all the resistance to becoming that and being that will be removed. Now, most people will never tell you this stuff, um, but of course it's simple— not simple, it's easier said than done. You have to change your perception of what it takes to be rich in order to be rich, and you have to let go of your baggage of your perceptions of what it takes to be rich if you want to be rich. And that's a simple test that you can take. Now, by the way, I recommend that you do this every 6 months. Do the imaginary down the street, in the car, look at the house, imagine the person, and see if your perception changes. Because I went through this myself. I used to genuinely believe that rich people were drug dealers, um, criminals, or they were just given it and born into it, or they were fat cat corporate yuppies. And of course, you would never want to be that as a human, so therefore you would repel anything that could draw money into you because you would want to repel being that. Now, if you imagined rich people were kind, giving, philanthropic, entrepreneurial, supportive, good humans, you would attract and accept all money into your life. In fact, you would make so much more money because you would know that money would make you those things. And yet everyone's trying to look at the get-rich-quick and look at strategies and tactics and just tell me how to be rich in the 5 steps, and they completely don't understand. You've got to repair the hole in the bucket before you fill it with more water. In fact, um, if you fill a bucket with a hole in it with more water, all that happens is the hole will get bigger and more water will go through it. And so it is with money. If you get money and you have a poor money mindset, it's going to exaggerate your poor money mindset traits, and it's probably going to be worse for you. It's going to exaggerate your addictions. So, and be honest and let me know in the comments where you think your money mindset was Broke is 0, 10 is rich. Where would you say you were on the 1 to 10 in the money mindset test? And I would ask you if you wouldn't mind sharing this on your social media, because imagine if everyone in the world took this test and they changed their false perceptions of what it was to be rich, and they became a good person and became rich, and everyone became rich. Imagine how much better, you know, our planet would be, because you can make money and do good things and give back to society and Yeah, pay lots of taxes and start a charity and foundation, all of these things of which I've done. So I wonder if you wouldn't mind just hitting the share button. Now, if you found when you took this test, I can see Sarah said a 7.
