How to Fix the Broken Economy

Rob Moore argues the UK economy is broken by high taxes and welfare spending, claiming his business pays an extra £125,000 annually. He proposes cutting VAT and corporation tax, replacing the complex tax code with a flat 20-25% rate, and creating an advisory board of entrepreneurs like Dyson and Branson to reshape policy.

How to fix the broken economy. Rachel Reeves, Keir Starmer, Labour, are you listening? VAT on school fees is a disgrace. Business rates on schools is a disgrace. The increased National Insurance taxing employment is a disgrace and the opposite of the way to grow an economy. I accept the fact that for 14 years Labour, through lockdown and increasing taxes— 20% VAT, 25% corporation tax, 40% plus income tax, 15% National Insurance, you name it— pension contributions have just gone up to the employer since Labour came in. I now have £125,000 in extra yearly tax to pay, which means I probably need to make 600 or 700 grand extra just to pay it. And what big companies are doing now, because that's millions to huge companies, they're basically just laying off the staff and they're making the savings from just letting staff go. They are ruining the economy. And here's how I'd fix it in 8 simple steps. Now, there's two types of economy. There's the economy and your economy, and they're linked. And Labour, Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves, if you make the nation per head poorer, if you make us all poorer with, for example, not tightening immigration and backdoor inflation and increased taxation, if you make us poorer per head, The economy is not going to grow. So your economy, everyone watching and listening including myself, is where we can take personal responsibility in increasing our own GDP. The thing is, at the moment, the best way to do that for many people is to leave the UK, just go to— going to Dubai where there is 5% VAT, 9% corp, no income tax, no business rates, no National Insurance. So here are my 8 simple steps to fix the broken economy. Please share this with as many people as you can. I think it's vital that we push back on these things that are killing the economy, which is going to continue to kill the public services, which is going to continue to kill this once great nation. So number 1, we immediately need to reduce VAT and corp tax so we can get businesses increasing their revenues and profits because businesses hire most of the people and most of the people earn through labour and working. We need to get businesses firing up, hiring and growing again. Okay, the second thing we need to do is be firm but fair on immigration. If they're going to work and add value, let them come in. If they're not going to work and not add value, They need to leave. If you owned a company, if they're adding value, you keep them. If they're not adding value, you fire them. And it needs to be the same with immigration. We need to stop allowing millions to come in and reduce our, you know, wealth and revenue per head. We are getting poorer per head. We're 40% less productive than America. And it costs half a million a year to have, you know, asylum seekers in. So we need to sort that out. The third thing we need to do is there's $171 billion spent on welfare and we need to cut that right down. And the people on the streets and the people homeless who are gaming the system, many of them, not all, they need to go back to work. I walk around our local city, I speak to the homeless, I do videos on TikTok, and they all tell me, I've got a house, there's no point going back to work because I'll earn less at work than I do on welfare. And I could earn £150 or even £200 a day begging. This welfare needs to be slashed. We could save £100 billion. We could put it back into apprenticeships and getting them back to work and creating jobs. 55% of the economy is small business and they need labour. And what about all these great apprenticeships that the UK used to have? Okay, the fourth thing I'd do is I'd simplify the tax code. It needs to be flat, same for everyone, 20-25% for everyone, billionaire or zero-er. Stop letting the billionaires pay nothing, um, or the big corporations, and getting your handouts and, you know, offering the politicians jobs in these corporations in the future so you can get all your policies through. Stop all that. But also stop all the welfare, and most of it, obviously, you know, people— some people need it. Um, simplify the tax code. Everyone pays the same whether you're a zero-er or a billionaire. I reckon that could produce hundreds of billions, if not a trillion plus for the economy. Number 5 is we need an advisory board of proper British caring entrepreneurs. Dyson, Branson, you know, entrepreneurs who care, who've made it, who are in their later years, who've got decades of experience, you know, who aren't greedy, powerful, corrupt billionaires. Get an advisory board and get them helping the government because the government don't know how to run an economy because Most of the senior Labour politicians haven't even run a business. Okay, the sixth thing we need to do is support incentives for startups. What about no tax in year 1? What about a little bit of tax in year 2, a little bit more in year 3, a little bit more in year 4, and then full in year 5? What about de-risking us starting a business or a side hustle? Get rid of all this IR35 penalising you for having more than one job crap. What about just helping people start a business and earn more? Every business that succeeds employs, generates VAT, corporation tax, income tax. Why are they biting the hand that feeds them? It doesn't make any sense. Number 7 is we need to produce and control more of our own energy. We're getting absolutely hammered by overseas nations. Energy's gone up 200% and 300%. And we've got our own energy. We just need to produce it and stop relying on, you know, being basically held to ransom by overseas nations. And this net zero stuff that just basically stops business growth needs to just be gone. And then number 8 is we need to ease the planning laws and encourage especially city centre redevelopment. Many city centres have gone to shit. They're like war zones. So why don't you encourage people like me to develop and rebuild some of the old offices and old buildings and convert them into flats and redevelop them? I do that. I've done it with hundreds of units, but it's really bloody hard and the planning is ridiculous. We don't need to build on greenbelt land. We need to sort the town centres out. Anyway, let me know what you think about my 8 policies or simple things we need to do to fix the economy. Reduce corp tax and VAT. Firm but fair on immigration. Let them in if they're going to work, kick them out if they're not, like you would a company. Reduce this nearly £200 billion in welfare. If you go on Grok, it reckons in total it's £330 billion in welfare. Get them back to work. Apprenticeships. You know, encourage work and feeling valuable to do good jobs and good labour. Labour builds you know, our economy. Flat simplified tax code, same for everyone, the people who are avoiding it and the billionaires who are avoiding it. Get an advisory board of caring, giving back entrepreneurs who've made their billions. Support and incentivize startups, give them tax breaks and incentives and give them a little board and give them mentoring. Number 7, produce and control more of our own energy. And number 8, ease planning laws and get the center redeveloped and house people. The The government aren't sorting the housing crisis, so let's sort it ourselves. Incentivize us to sort it and let us profit by sorting your problem out. How about that? I wonder if you wouldn't mind sharing this. Let me know what you think. I've just come out of a Facebook ban, so any sharing you can do would be hopefully useful to others, but it would help me. Let me know if you agree with any of my fixes and policies. Would you add any? Hit them up in the comments. I'm on a mission to help as many people on this planet get better financial knowledge. It's the 18th year of my company Progressive. We've succeeded, survived through lockdown, thrived in spite of all these taxes and regulations. We need less people in government. We need less regulation in some areas, more in others. We need more regulation of the billion, um, you know, the big billion-dollar corporations, less regulation for startups. We need less taxation, more incentivization. I mean, so I'm on a mission to help as many people on this planet get better financial knowledge. I do content every single day. Make sure you're following me here and on other channels. And to celebrate the 18th year surviving and thriving despite the worsening economy in the UK, I'm celebrating my 18 years in business by giving 18 of you a subsidized buy-me ticket to the Moneymaker Summit. Now, um, GB News are calling me the People's Chancellor because I actually run a business. I've done more than a quarter of a billion in sales. I've got 345 rental units. We manage 1,400 tenants, um, in our real estate portfolio. Like I said, I've been doing this 20 years, um, and so I've got a lot of experience in running a real economy, which is a business. The economy, they're not running it like a real business. They're just running it as an insolvent bankrupt entity. So if you'd like to learn how to make, manage, and multiply money, build multiple streams of recurring income, get your tax bill down and your income streams up, and you want me to subsidize the tickets, the multi-millionaire speakers, the billionaire speaker at the next event, I'll pay for the AV, the venue, everything. You just need to get there. Go to robmoore.live/money. That's robmoore.live/money. The first 18 of you, you'll see there's a date in Feb, the date in March, London, Peterborough. And the first 18 of you, I'll I'll subsidize your entire ticket. You just have to get there. The speakers, the venue, all the multimillionaires, the AV, everything for 3 full days. Um, if you're not in one of the first 18 or you don't mind paying a small upgrade to get front row seats, dinner with the millionaires, Q&A private sessions with the millionaires, champagne receptions with the millionaires, bonus morning money mindset sessions with the millionaires, you just need to pay a small upgrade. Less than 100. I think one of them is 50, basically an admin fee, and you can get the special VIP or golden VIP ticket. So just go to robmoore.live/money. I've evolved this event over the years since Conservatives and Labour have started to ruin, um, the country and the economy. So I've got tactical, practical masterclass sessions on investing in gold and silver and decentralizing your money and protecting it from the banks. Getting your tax bill down. We've got a 90-minute session. As long as you airplane mode your phone, I'll tell you everything I've learned about saving millions in tax. We've got leveraging AI and avoiding having to hire loads of staff and therefore pay all this tax to National Insurance. Natasha's already booked on the Moneymaker Summit, so— and we've only got 2 date choices left, limited places. So all the detail, the information is at robmoore.live/money. You've— what you need to do is put your details including your personal phone number in. You're only booked on when you speak to one of our team members. Um, first come first serve, 18 of you free, the rest of you are a small upgrade, or if you just want to jump the queue, it's better. I'll be there, I'll sign your books, I'll speak to you in the breaks, I'll have dinner with you on the VIP upgraded tickets. Your network is your net worth. Yes, we'll do talks on decentralizing your money including gold and silver and crypto, etc. Because the world has changed and you need to evolve with it. And the only reason I've been going 20 years as an entrepreneur and done hundreds of millions is because I've evolved and changed and adapted and overcome. And, you know, right now in 2025, with the big crash looming, it's the survival of the fittest. It's those that are most adaptable to change that will win the game. But it is getting harder. But if you learn the new rules of the game, you can beat the banks and the governments at their own game and win. Natasha says Moneymaker Summit's a great event. She's already been and she's booked again. So go to robmoore.life/money and let me know what you think of my 8 policies to fix the broken economy. What would you do? Um, what, what would you change? Would you record, reduce corp tax and VAT to get business hiring and firing? And firing as in, you know, engine whirring, not as in getting rid of all the staff. Businesses are being forced to fire because of National Insurance increases. Um, I now have to pay £125,000 extra a year because of National Insurance and pension increases forced upon me by the government. And, you know, a 15% margin, you know, you've got to earn 6 times that. So I now have to earn 6 times £125,000 more, nearly £800,000 more, just to stay the same. And then there's inflation. I've probably got to earn $850 grand more just to stay the same. A million more. How, how is that right? How is that good for the economy? How is that good for growth? Hello? These guys are idiots. They don't know what they're doing. Anyway, let me know what you think. I wonder if you wouldn't mind sharing this. And remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything. I'll see you at robmoore.live/money.
