How to Invest in a Crashing Market 😯

In this live‑style video Rob Moore explains how to approach investing when markets are falling. He argues a recession is imminent and outlines a set of "rules" for navigating a crash: use pound‑ or dollar‑cost averaging instead of lump‑sum buying; stay liquid by having access to credit, partners, and quickly‑sellable assets; focus on income‑producing assets (rental property, businesses, content platforms) rather than pure capital assets like gold or crypto; treat fear as a motivator and look for opportunities when others are paralyzed. He shares personal anecdotes about profiting in the 2008 recession, stresses that cash alone is no longer king, and recommends treating a business or personal brand as an investment asset. Throughout the talk he repeatedly promotes his membership site rob.team, describing it as a low‑cost ("large coffee" per month) source of three years of finance, business, and tax education, including a 9‑module "How to Invest" series and exclusive interviews with a top UK entrepreneur and his own accountant who can help halve tax bills. The video mixes instructional advice with persuasive calls‑to‑action, urging viewers to comment on their recession expectations, join the community, and start investing now rather than waiting for the market to turn.

How to invest into a crashing market. The rules of money are changing. Bitcoin is down more than two-thirds from its peak. The crypto market capitalization is down from $3 trillion to under $1 trillion. The stock markets are going down. But certain assets like property, maybe gold, certainly classic cars, etc., are quite high and could crash. I think watch prices are high and could crash. So I'm going to give you some fundamental tools and strategies to invest into a crashing market. Now, first of all, I believe a recession is coming. In fact, technically, it's probably going to be here in a couple of weeks. My question to you is this. Please do let me know in the comments. Do you think a correction is coming, small, a recession is coming, big, or a depression is coming, huge, hard, and long? Let me know what you think in the comments. Correction, recession, or depression? Now, the rules are different investing into a crashing market. So number one big, big thing in investing into a crashing market is to pound or dollar cost average. And what that means is don't put all your money in in one go. This is really important. Now, by the way, if you're sitting there thinking, I don't have much or any money to invest, stay with me because you can be resourceful even if you don't have resources. You can start a business, an online business, a digital business on virtually no money in. So stay with me. But the first most important rule I believe in investing in a potentially crashing market is to pound or dollar cost average, which means don't put all your investment in one asset in one go. Spread it across 3 assets over 6 months, 12 months, 18 months. Let's just say, for example, you had £10,000 to invest. You would be wise to put £2,000 in this month, £2,000 in next month, £2,000 in next month, £2,000 this month, £2,000 in 3 months, 3 months, 3 months, 3 months. It's called pound and/or dollar cost averaging, and it's a fundamental rule of investing into a dropping market. Nadia has said like a global recession. Yeah, I do believe the recession is going to be relatively global. Now look, China's inflation is way lower than the West. That is, um, it does mean that economies are different around the world. But you know, the war between Ukraine and Russia is really— it's not a world war, but it's globally impacted because of the, the billions and trillions that are being pumped in by, um, for example, NATO. Biden, the UK. Yeah, Will has said, if only there was a book written on how to make cash in a property crash. Thank you, Will, for the reminder. I did write a book called Cash in a Property Crash. I actually made a good amount of money in the recession of 2008. And by the way, I was quite scared because I'd never seen it before, and I was only in my mid-20s, and, you know, I just didn't really know what to do. A bit like when the lockdown happened, I was quite scared because I'd never seen a lockdown before. But often fear also means opportunity, because if you're scared, everyone else is scared. But most people get paralyzed by fear, whereas you should use fear as a motivator for action. Okay, a few more things on how to invest in a crashing market is you want to be liquid. Now, by the way, being liquid and having cash are two different things. Being liquid means having access to liquidity. Resources, contacts, lenders, JV partners, assets that could be converted into cash quickly. Whereas cash is just money you have. Now let's be honest, even if you're loaded, are you going to have enough money to buy all the property you want in the recession? All the businesses you want in the recession? No, of course you're not. Even if you had a billion, you wouldn't have enough to buy all the real estate and crypto that you'd want when it's crashing. So actually, no one has enough money to buy all the assets that they want, but people do have resourcefulness. And resourcefulness is, could you borrow money if you need it? Have you got contacts who are, um, who believe you're investible? Are you investible? Are you liquid in that you do have assets that you could liquidate? And by the way, real estate, one of my favorite investments, is not a liquid asset. It could take 6 to 12 months to liquidate a property. So it's not a liquid asset. So just bear that in mind. Although property triple dips because you get equity when you buy low, you get capital appreciation when it goes up, and you get income. So that would be probably my next rule of investing in a crashing market is to make sure that your asset that you invest in produces income. Cash is no longer king, my friends. Income is king. And the problem is, if you buy an asset that doesn't yield income— gold, no income; cryptos, most of them, no income— they're just a capital asset. The problem with that is, um, if they go down, you've lost money, but you've got no income. And if your net worth goes down, you've got no income. And if your expenses go up, you've got no income. So I like assets that produce income. Real estate produces income. Your social media brand produces income. Your content can produce income. Your YouTube can produce income. Your podcast can produce income. Your online business can produce income. That's my next tip then— how to cash in on a crashing market and invest in a crashing market. Don't just think about assets to invest in in terms of real estate and property, gold, stocks, cryptos. Think about a business as an asset. So I have a training company, does over $20 million a year, and that's done over a quarter of a billion pounds in revenue. That's an asset, and that produces liquidity in the form of hundreds of thousands of pounds plus a month in profits, and that is income. Uh, you could start a training business, a mentoring business, a membership site courses, masterminds, you name it. You could even buy a business for cents in the dollar or pennies in the pound when the market crashes. Now, by the way, are we in a recession yet? Technically not quite, but I reckon in a couple of weeks or so, um, when the next quarter data comes out, I reckon we'll be technically in a recession. Now again, let me ask you, do you think we're going to be in a correction a little bit A recession? A big bit. A depression? A long, hard decade long. I don't know, some depressions have lasted decades in the past. Now here's the thing, in the last recession it was caused by the banks. This time around it could be Brexit, COVID lockdowns, massive tax, massive inflation, wars. Across nations. There's so many more variables that could have an impact in the economy, which is I believe it will be at the very least a recession, if not a depression. Now look, I might be talking about a depression, but I don't want to depress you, because every downside has an upside, and every difficulty is an opportunity. In every stressing hides a blessing. So I actually believe that recessions, corrections, and depressions produce great opportunity. Do you know more millionaires are made in recessions than in the boom parts of the cycle? Because you start from nothing, you get assets cheap. And this is actually something really important to say, because you don't want to be consumed by fear, because then you're frozen and then you don't take action. So a quick summary then. I hope you found this useful. I wonder if you wouldn't mind just hitting the share button. Because a crash is coming. Um, by the way, let me know when you think the crash is coming and let me know how long you think the crash would be. I'd love your thoughts. As you know, I engage in the discussion in the chat. When do you think a crash is coming? How long do you think a crash will be? Raymond has said keep buy-to-lets or sell them. My favorite holding period for property is forever. Um, I've only sold about 25 properties, 23 of them in one block. I regretted it. Um, I probably would have already made double or triple what I made selling them. And also, when you sell an asset, yeah, you get the cash, but you've got to pay sale costs, you've got to pay, um, taxes. When you keep them, you can refinance them and draw money out without tax and a tax event, but also you keep getting the income for many years to come. Gmail thinks 6 to 12 months, the recession is coming. I might say 2 weeks. When do you think it's coming. Okay, Steve has said, would you recommend OnlyFans as an income generator? Well, anything where you turn your content into cash flow, your information into income. So Patreon, your membership site. Have you all heard of my, um, site rob.team? I've been talking about it since I kind of officially relaunched it about 6 weeks ago. But rob.team is my content into cash flow, my information into income. It's a members site. Where you get education, information, and inspiration. You get to learn, earn, and invest. Now look, OnlyFans is kind of well known for other assets, and I don't have those assets to share, and people aren't going to subscribe to see those assets from me. But your assets are your information, your experience, your knowledge, you know, your passion into your profession. And this is exactly what Rob.team was for me, Steve. So, you know, when you say, can you make money from OnlyFans, you can make money from content. I'm making thousands of pounds off one video on YouTube right now, making thousands of pounds from my TikTok content. I'm making tens of thousands a month from Rob.team. So if you want to join Rob.team, by the way, um, and learn to earn to invest, open up a new page right now and just type in rob.team. Now, in rob.team, you can get a university degree on business, finance, economics, making money, better financial education and knowledge. But instead of it costing you 50 grand a year and learning from broke tutors, it will cost you a large coffee a month, and that's it. You can cancel any time from someone who became a millionaire in his 20s and a deca-millionaire in his 30s. So go open a new window right now, type in rob.moore.team, join now, cost of a large coffee, cancel anytime, gain 3 years worth of university-quality content on money, economics, finance, business, but from someone who's made— in fact, I've done more than a quarter of a billion in revenue, and those tutors at university are broke. Steve has said Rob.team is a great investment. Thank you very much, Steve. Now look, here's the thing with the recession, by the way. Go to join Rob.team. Do it now. People sometimes say, how do I click? You can't click, um, you just need to open a new window and type in R-O-B dot T-E-A-M. Actually, on the note of how to invest, I like to invest through all parts of the cycle because here's the thing: you can probably work out what will happen, but you can never work out when. So would you, by the way, agree it's 99% certain a recession is coming? Give me a yes if you'd agree with that. I mean, I think everyone sees it as pretty certain. Inflation is so high, interest rates are so low, taxation is so high. You know, there's hundreds of billions being invested into wars that the taxpayer has to pay for. So I think we're all pretty certain that there will be a recession. There's recessions every 15, 17 years through history, but you can't predict when. That's why you mustn't wait. That's why you must always invest through all parts of the cycle and buy well today. Jack Lloyd has said he's joining rob.team. Welcome aboard, Jack. Steve said it's a great resource. Thank you, Steve. Go and join rob.team. Open a new window, type in r-o-b dot t-e-a-m. It's that easy. You can join for the cost of a large coffee, can cancel anytime. You can go back through 3 years of content, um, from someone who made it, uh, became a millionaire in my 20s— well, late 20s, early 30s um, and deca-millionaire in my mid-30s. Um, I have, what, $50 million plus of property, 1,550 tenants. I wrote the UK's best-selling book on money called Money. Um, my property portfolio churns out millions in rent a year. So if you'd like to just get 1% of the results of that, or actually learn from someone who's making real money and isn't charging you 50 grand a year and being a tutor Most of the tutors at university are broke. The system is the wrong way around. So like Jack is doing, like Steve has done, go and join Rob Moore's team. Now again, as I was saying, on the note of how to invest, because you can't predict when the market will crash, but you can predict what will happen because you can go back through the cycles every 13, 15, 17 years all the way back through history. See the corrections, recessions, depressions, the double dips. You can kind of track that. Um, because of that, you need to learn how to invest through all parts of the cycle. So when the market is going up, I pound cost average up, which means investing in stages rather than all at once, and I look to add value to the asset so that I gain capital appreciation. When the market is going down, I look to get a discount or buy it below the market value of the asset. So I, I either get equity or capital appreciation. And then of course I like income-producing assets like real estate, like businesses, like ISAs and the stock market. And as much as I like classic cars, watches, gold, and cryptos, they're not income-producing, they're just capital. So, you know, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta know this. You gotta learn so you can earn so you can invest. And actually, just live right now in the Rob.team platform, do you know I've just put live a couple of weeks ago the brand new 9-module, 10-hour How to Invest series? So you've joined this live, it's talking about investing in a crashing market. You want to invest You maybe have no money, or a little bit of money, or you have a decent amount of money. You don't want to waste that money. You don't want the government inflating and quantitative easing it away. You don't want to waste it. You want to turn it into income, like recurring income. You want to know all this stuff. That's why you're watching this live. That's why you should go and join rob.team, because I've just launched the brand new 9-module, 10-hour How to Invest series. How to invest in gold, crypto, stocks, ISAs, watches, classic cars, businesses, property, you name it. How to invest safely, how to pound and dollar cost average, how to, um, invest, speculate, and then do higher risk investments. How to spread your risk, knowing what, um, investments are safer and a lower return and a longer term asset and what investments are more speculative and a higher return but a higher risk. By the way, I interview one of the top entrepreneur investors in the whole of the UK in this 10-hour series. If you'd like access to that for just the cost of a large coffee, and you can consume 3 years worth of content, and you can cancel at any time, go and join rob.team. Jack's joining. Steve is in. Give me a yes in the comments if you are joining or you are in. Um, I think Mark is in. So open a new window, do it now, a new page on the internet, and type in rob.team. Go do it right now, don't wait. I also interviewed my accountant my secret accountant who, um, has made me millions, saved me millions, and he's charged me hundreds of thousands. Steve has said I need to subscribe. Steve, there's a difference between knowing and doing, saying and doing. So go and subscribe now. Do yourself the favor, do it now, otherwise you won't come back. Catherine Woods is in now. I interviewed my accountant— I've never interviewed him before— on how to save millions in tax like I did. Or thousands in tax if you haven't got millions in tax bills. Imagine if you could save half the amount of tax you're paying right now. Would you like that? Would that be nice for you to halve your tax bill? Well, you can legitimately. It's actually much easier than you think. And I've got an unedited, raw, uncut video coming soon interviewing my personal accountant, who's bloody expensive. £500 an email he costs. So if you go now and join rob.team, you can also gain access to a secret interview with my accountant on saving half your tax bill. Thomas is in! Come on, join these guys. Go and open a new page, type in rob.team. A great time to invest is when the market is crashing because you get assets cheaper, you get property cheaper, you get in the stock market cheaper. But remember the rules of investing. I shared them at the start of this video, and I share more of them on the How to Invest series in Rob.team. Don't invest blind. Don't, um, misunderstand gambling, speculating, and investing. Most people are either speculating or gambling. They're not investing. They don't know the difference. So thanks for tuning in. I'm going to give you one more time because I've got to get out of here to go and join Rob.team. Stephen has said drop the link in. All right, when I finish the live, I'll drop in the link at the top. I'll pin it. But just make sure you go and open a new window now and type in rob.team. That's how you join. Kirsten is in. She says it's well worth it. It's the cost of a large coffee. You can cancel anytime. There's 3 years worth of content. Rangi is just in there, as you can I've got 5,000 members. You want to be the next one, you know, control your own finances, become financially free, learn, earn, invest, reduce your tax, which is your biggest expense, create multiple streams of recurring income. There's loads of courses. I'll see you there. Thanks for tuning in, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything. Wendy's already in. Great value at rob.team. She says thank you.
