How to Sell Anything to Anyone

In this solo video, seasoned sales professional Rob Moore (17 years, >£250 million in sales) argues that conventional sales tactics—objection‑overcoming scripts, hypnotic language, seeding—are ineffective because people dislike being sold to but love to buy. He proposes a single, values‑based approach: discover a prospect’s highest personal or business value and reframe any product, service, or idea as a direct fulfillment of that value. Moore introduces a concise nine‑word question—“What’s most important to you in your life/business/relationship?”—that, when asked conversationally, elicits the prospect’s value hierarchy. He demonstrates how to map common values (freedom, family, progress, money, growth) to corresponding selling angles (selling freedom, legacy, personal growth, wealth). He cautions that the method still requires product‑market fit and appropriate pricing; otherwise the sale can still fail. The video concludes with a promotional pitch for his membership platform, Rob.team, offering courses, masterclasses, and community support for entrepreneurs at a low daily cost, and a meta‑commentary on why practical how‑to content receives less social‑media traction than news‑jacking material.

How to sell anything to anyone, anytime, anywhere. There is only one way to guarantee that you can sell anything to anyone. Now, I've done more than a quarter of a billion in sales in the last 17 years. I have 35 staff alone in sales in my organization. I built the UK's largest property training business. So when it comes to sales, I've seen a hell of a lot that doesn't work. And if you'd like— in fact, get this— I've got a 9-word question, just 9 words, and this question will help you elicit exactly how to sell anything to anyone. Now, trying many different ways of selling over the last 17 years You know, you have objection overcomers, and you have hypnotic language, and you have seeding, and you have all these different styles and techniques on how to, how to sell anything to anyone. The thing is, people don't like being sold to, but they love to buy. And this is the thing. So if you're in the position where you're selling to someone, essentially you're trying to change their mind. You're pushing something on them. You're imposing, if you like, your will and your desire onto them. Also, the problem when you sell something to someone is they can always feel that, well, you would want to say that and you would want to impose this upon them because you have some benefit, you have some ulterior motive. So when you're selling and you want to sell anything to anyone, but especially what you've got now— by the way, this could be selling yourself in a relationship, this could be selling products or services, this could be selling to get your kids to do anything that you want. This works across the board. But remember, people don't like to be sold to, but they love to buy. And in order to be able to do this You need to know what is most important to any human or any person you're trying to influence. Like I said, if there's an objection, then it becomes a friction. Oh well, I don't want to do this, haven't got time. Oh, everyone's got time, everyone's got 24 hours in a day. And it sort of almost becomes not an argument, but it's a tit for tat. And even if that does work, and even if you're pushy and you can pressure people into making the decision, All that will happen is they'll get remorse and they'll change their mind. So the one and best and only way that I know with my 17 years experience and a quarter of a billion in sales in total, um, is to find out what is most important to the person that you're trying to sell something to— an idea, a product, a service, a decision, an action, a date, whatever. Is you have to understand what's most important to them. And what's most important to them is called their values. And every single one of us as a human has a hierarchy of values. So we all have, like, if we sat down and wrote down what's most important to me in my life, if you do that, if you think about that now, let's do it together. I'll do it real quick. Think about what's most important to you in your life. And maybe think about it and write it down, or even write it in the comments or say it. So for me, progress is really important. Freedom is really important. It, you know, family and loved ones is really important. Money and business is really important. And personal growth is really important. Now you might have travel, family, career, I don't know, but we all have values, which are the things that are most important to us, and a hierarchy of them where one will always supersede another. So if you could have someone write out their values that you're trying to sell something to and give— and then give you that list, instead of selling something based on what you want them to do, you can repackage what you have linked to their values. So you've got a product and their highest value is freedom, you're basically selling freedom. You have a product and their highest value is family, so you're basically selling legacy and time with family. Their highest value is, um, progress, so you're selling growth and, um, you know, becoming a bigger and a better version of yourself. So you're not selling what you've got, you're selling their highest value. And people cannot say no to the thing that's most important to them. If money is most important to you and I've got money, you're not going to say no. If time and freedom are most important to you and I can help you get time and freedom, you're not going to say no. You can't say no. It's impossible for you to say no. But here's the problem. The problem is no one's going to sit down and go, oh, Rob, you want me to— you want to sell me something? All right, I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll write you a list of my highest values in order so you can sell me this thing. No one's going to do this. But what they will do is answer this question, because if you do it conversationally, what I'm about to tell you They don't know that it's a pitch. So if you ask someone, what is most important to you in your life? What is most important to you in your life? That's a 9-word question. And, or, what is most important to you? Thing is, if you say what's most important to you, they'll say, well, what do you mean? In what? In— but if you say what's most important to you in your life, or if you're selling to a business, what's most important to you in your business? They are going to say to you, well, profit, growth, or they're going to say freedom and time, or family and money. And they're going to tell you, as long as it's woven in conversationally, that they don't feel interrogated, they're probably going to give that information to you. If you, if you're on a date, ask them what's most important to them in a relationship. Um, I remember when I asked my wife this and she said sacrifice. Okay, that's, that's good to know. And so what's, what's most important to you in your business? What's most important to you in your life? What's most important to you in— insert the decision, the product, the niche that you're, that you're trying to persuade them to move into. And then just completely repackage what you've got based on that highest value, and it's impossible for them not to want it. I mean, look, they might not buy it if If the price is too high, um, or, or there's not a product fit, of course, you know, you can still fail at this, um, but you can't if you get everything else right. So let me do a quick summary. How to sell anything to anyone, there's only one way. You don't want to be— isn't, you know, seeding and objection overcomers, um, hypnotic commands— these are all techniques, but techniques are technical and they can be pushy and icky. What you need to do is understand someone's highest values, the drivers and motivators, the things that are most important to them in their life. And instead of selling what you've got— because people don't like to be sold to, but people love to buy— so instead of selling what you've got, essentially you're inviting them to buy what they want. When you package your products and services around their highest values, they're buying what they want. Because, you know, people don't buy an expensive watch because it tells the time. They buy it because, you know, maybe it makes them feel important. Maybe it gives them connection to a higher echelon of person. Maybe it makes— helps them feel noticed. That's why they're spending 100 grand on something that they can work out on their phone by just checking the time on their phone. So the script question is, what's most important to you in your life? Or what's most important to you in— insert the niche— relationship, business, um, and then get the answer, and then elegantly repackage and position your product, your service, your offering, your pitch, the thing that you're trying to influence them on— your children, your partner, your clients— elegantly repackage it to be based on their values, not based on what you want to sell them. And that works every time. So hopefully you found that useful. Um, I wonder if you wouldn't mind sharing this because I don't know, um, what you think, but, um, I like to share how-to content like this, specific how-to content. And anytime I do any how-to content like I've just done here, look at the numbers, they're ridiculously low. Um, whereas if I just did something that's going on in the news— like, notice I haven't done anything about, um, Gaza or Israel or anything like that.
