How To Stop Cash Turning into Trash

In this video Rob Moore argues that cash is rapidly losing value and is effectively "trash". He attributes the devaluation to several interrelated forces: massive government money printing (quantitative easing) that debases the currency, the lack of any gold or tangible backing for fiat money, double‑digit inflation and a cost‑of‑living crisis, ever‑rising taxes to fund wars and public debt, and the fact that banks do not guarantee deposits and offer near‑zero interest. He notes that these dynamics make cash a poor store of wealth and that saving cash can no longer build wealth. Moore suggests that the solution is to move cash out of bank accounts and into income‑producing assets (gold, silver, watches, property, digital assets, recurring‑income businesses). He briefly mentions Bitcoin as a finite‑supply alternative but cautions against relying solely on crypto for everyday purchases. The core message is that "income is king" and that individuals must create multiple streams of passive or residual income. Throughout the video Moore promotes his paid membership platform (rob.team), offering a free "toolkit" of resources, a multi‑module "How to Invest" series, a social‑media monetisation masterclass, and other courses aimed at helping viewers protect their money, invest, and generate recurring income. He repeatedly calls viewers to comment, share, and join his community, positioning his content as essential financial education during the current economic crisis.

Why cash is now trash. I remember hearing Ray Dalio and Grant Cardone announce that cash is trash, and honestly, I thought it was a little bit American and a little bit hypey. But right now, I believe their predictions are becoming more and more true. Cash is becoming trash. So I'm going to tell you what's happening to cash I would also love your thoughts on what you think the future of cash is. Please do engage in the comments. And then I'm going to give you some solutions to cash becoming trash. So the reason that cash is becoming trash is number 1, the government are printing so much of it through quantitative easing that they are devaluing it. I'd even go as far as to say they are debasing it, you know, a bit like when precious metals were debased with lead. The government are wiping off their own debt by reducing the value of money and the spending power of money by ever-increasing printing of it, an increasing supply, removing the buying power and the value. Now, John Brown has said gold and silver. I'm going to talk about gold and silver and watches and other things in a moment. Now, you have no control over how much the government pump out new currency. Now, the second reason, linked to the first reason that cash is trash, is that this new money that they print is worthless in the sense that it's backed by nothing. There is no gold standard. There is nothing that backs the— there is only trust that we believe in the story of money. And when we don't trust governments anymore, we won't believe in the story of money. If we don't trust governments, we won't trust money. And cash won't just be going down at 10 or 20% a year, it could go down a huge amount in a short period of time. Now, the more the government get into debt, the more they're likely to print more money to essentially erode their debt, reduce the value of their debt. So do you think the government's going to get out of debt and balance their books Or do you think with COVID and Brexit and lockdowns and wars, do you think the government are going to get into more debt? Let me know in the comments. Less debt or more debt? Because if you think the government are getting to— going to get into more debt, then they will more print money, and therefore your money will be worth less money. This is why a lot of people believe in Bitcoin. You cannot produce any more Bitcoin. There is a finite, limited supply, and therefore you can't devalue it or debase it. Hmm. So cash is trash because the government are printing loads of it. Cash is trash because the government can print even more of it. Cash is trash because it's not backed by anything. Cash is also trash because inflation is really high and your spending power is really low, and there is a cost of living crisis. So right now there's a massive food shortage, energy shortage, there is a supply chain shortage, a raw materials shortage. Do you know that your spending power is as low as it was in the Second World War? After the finance of war. The next reason why cash is trash is because government are increasing taxes over and over and over. Now, um, generally taxes are increased to fund wars. That's why your spending power was so low after the Second World War, because there would have been billions to finance the war. Well, if we enter into World War III, which let's be honest I can't say it's going to happen, but it seems pretty freaking scary. Then of course that's going to need financing, and that's— we're going to pay. It's funny, you know, people say government pay for wars. No, we pay for wars because they take the money off of us. So let me know what your thoughts are in the comments. If you agree and/or you think this information needs to get out to more people, please hit the share button. I'm on a mission to help as many people get better financial education and knowledge. I'm on a mission to help people not just survive but thrive through this cost of living crisis, this soaring inflation, soaring cost of energy, fuel, etc. So if you'd like my help, just write toolkit in the comments because I'm giving away about 7 free resources to help as many people on this planet as possible when it comes to managing money in this cost of living crisis. I will give you 30 to 35 ways to reduce up to half your salary in costs or spending. I will also give you ways to start a business, scale a business, create recurring income streams. And also I have 2 keynote speeches which are about 90 minutes long each on setting up digital assets and creating recurring income. So just write toolkit— tool, T-O-O-L-K-I-T— write toolkit in the comments. I'll give you completely free access to that. And like I said, I'm here to help as many people as possible get better financial education and knowledge. Now, um, Sean Paul Gilbert here has said about printing, printing money. He thinks that, um, you know, we're in a debt crisis. He thinks that, um, interest rates are going to go up. Of course interest rates are going to go up. They've been, what, 5 to 6% lower than the general long-term average for, for what, 13 years, something like that? Now There are always upsides to these downsides, so I'll tell you about some upsides in a moment. But just write toolkit in the comments, I'll give you these free resources. Okay, so currently cash is devaluing hard and fast. Inflation is now double digits. That means if you have 100 grand and you keep it in the bank for a year, that is 90 grand maximum in a year. That's an expensive place to leave it. So cash is not king anymore. Cash used to be king. Do you know what is now king? Let me know if you know in the comments. It used to be cash. People used to say cash is king, save your way to wealth, you know, hold cash. When there's a recession, the person with the most cash wins. In marketing, they say the person who can spend the most on the lead or the ad wins. But actually, cash is no longer king. Income is king. Income. So, and some people say, yeah, but income is cash. No, it's not. Income is not cash. Cash is not money. Money is not cash. Cash is a form of money. Money is more than cash. So what you need to do to stop your cash turning into trash is you need to get it out of the bank and into an asset. Now, many of you here are talking about the banking system and the economy and digital currencies and all of that. So I'm going to talk about assets into income in a moment, but there's other reasons why cash is trash. Number 1, if you give it to the bank, they don't guarantee it. You could get, um, scammed or hacked, and the bank may not back it up. Um, and the banks are going to lend it out 10 times, but they're going to give you no interest. And you can't get any interest on your cash because interest rates are so low. So I've probably listed now 7 reasons why cash is trash. Now some people are a little bit more extreme in this and they say, yeah, just buy everything in Bitcoin, you know, don't hold any cash, you've just got to have crypto. That's a bit extreme because you actually can't buy much with Bitcoin. I know that the proper crypto hackers say you can. Oh yeah, you can buy coffee with your Bitcoin, but most people don't take Bitcoin to buy a coffee. And as of now, it's not commonly used, um, Bitcoin and cryptos, as a monetary system. So you still need cash, but what you need to do is have minimal cash. Just have cash that helps you with your subsistence and your living expenses, and everything else that you have needs to be out of cash. This is important. So what you need to do, um, if cash is not king and income is king, you need to take your cash and— well, look, saving cash is a good start. They used to say you can save your way to wealth with the law of compounding. You can't anymore. Massive warning: you cannot save your way to wealth because inflation is so much higher than interest rates that saving cash means your money goes down in value. So the only way you can gain wealth is to earn and invest. You cannot save your way to wealth. You can earn your way to wealth and invest your way to wealth, but saving is good to bridge, to have enough money to invest. And then this is— look, by the way, this is not financial advice. This is me sharing with you what I do, um, and you know what I think works to protect your cash. Always do your own research. But as soon as you have any investable amount in cash, take it out of the bank and put it into an asset. And then that asset produces income, and you turn cash into income. Cash is not income. Because it's just a lump that sits there going down in value, whereas income is inflows, inflows, inflows. Now ideally you want recurring income, passive income, digital income, residual income. Cash is a one-off event, whereas income is an ongoing residual recurring event. And you need to turn your one-off event of cash into your multiple income event of recurring and passive income. Now, on that note, Stephen has asked which assets are good to invest in today. So if you would like recurring income, passive income, multiple events of influx of cash, then I recommend that you join Rob.team. So if you'd like to learn the 21 ways to monetize social media, how you can too, to just turn your content into cash flow, information into income, go and join right now at rob.team. R-O-B dot T-E-A-M in a new window. Um, and that'll be a $500 course that I'll be selling in the future, and you can get it live with me completely for free. But you need to be on rob.team. So I'm going to give you a few new rules of money. I'm actually, um, decided to write a new book called The Revolution of Money. Um, because I think there's a big money revolution happening right now and coming in the future. Let me know if you think there's a revolution of money in the comments. Let me know if you think that, that we are in, in the death of cash in the comments. So the new rules of money are: cash is trash. You've got to get rid of cash. You've got to put cash into assets, and those assets produce income. Cash is no longer king. Income is king. Number 2: you can't save your way out of a cost of living crisis. You can only invest or earn your way out of a cost of living crisis. Cash is no longer king, income is. Money is moving in different places now. So people think, oh, you know, there's a recession, recession, correction, recession, depression. Correction, small. Recession, mid. Depression, large. I don't know which one you think is happening, but money is— yes, the economy is growing slower, but actually money is just moving into different places. So if you can find those different places that money is moving, you're going to make some more of that for yourself. Money is evolving faster than ever now because of, you know, the speed of, um, the internet, the speed of light information exchange, and, um, Moore's Law, um, of ever-increasing speed of technology. So cryptos, NFTs, the lack of trust of fiat currency, these— the death of cash. Um, sorry, I said here, why are you saying that cash is trash? One, inflation is double digits. Two, the government are printing so much money that they're debasing your cash. Three, the banks don't guarantee it. Four, cryptos are starting to disrupt it. Five, taxes are higher than ever. There's 5 reasons. Those 5 things just since lockdown have probably debased your spending power by 30%. Corp tax is going up from 19% to 25%, and, um, National Insurance went up. The government spent— wasted billions. They spent £500 billion and wasted tens of billions on the lockdown write-offs. You're gonna have to pay for that. So those 5 things I've just mentioned probably means a 30% debasement of your cash. Probably. Do your own research. But, you know, I have worked all this in. A lot of people miss a lot of stuff, like in the inflation data, they don't put it in everything. They often don't put in asset prices or food prices or things like that. So you can't trust the CPI and the RPI. You have to do your own research. So there's 5 massive reasons why cash is trash. Now, I'm not saying never use cash because you have to buy your you know, living subsistence with cash. But you brought— you just want a minimum amount of that and a maximum amount of money into assets. So, you know, I'm fortunate enough I've got a decent amount of cash accrued from the first 3 months of the year, and I'm investing in watches and property and digital assets and building my brand and generating leads. And I want minimum cash, minimum, probably 3 months living. That's it. So you must have multiple streams of income. You must make money while you sleep. You must have digital assets. You must leverage social media, personal brand, and information into income. And if you'd like to be able to do all that and learn how to do that from practical and tactical videos from me every single week, and articles and courses and masterclasses and Zooms, go and join right now on rob.team.
