Just Tax the Energy Companies FFS 🤬

In this impassioned monologue, Rob Moore denounces the UK government's handling of the current energy crisis, highlighting the stark contrast between soaring profits of oil majors like BP (£6.4 bn profit, £127 m tax) and the relentless rise of household energy bills (up 300‑400%). He questions why a windfall tax isn’t imposed, criticises the lack of a functional Prime Minister, and blames political instability, pandemic lockdowns, Brexit, and sanctions on Russia for exacerbating the situation. Moore shares his personal experience as a landlord facing a £400 k annual increase in energy costs, and he worries about ordinary earners who could see energy expenses of £5‑6 k a year. He calls for public protest, demands government accountability, and warns that without intervention the public will suffer further. The latter part of the video shifts to a self‑help pitch: Moore urges viewers to protect themselves by building multiple income streams, investing in inflation‑beating assets, and joining his paid platform, Rob.team, which offers masterclasses on entrepreneurship, finance, and side‑hustle creation. He frames financial education as essential to survive the crisis, while dismissing conspiracy theories as noise and urging pragmatic personal responsibility.

Will someone just explain to me why the government don't just tax the energy companies? Like, what is going on behind the scenes? What control do the energy firms have over the government? I have been talking to people so upset, so angry and so confused. How can an ordinary person on an ordinary wage afford £3,000, £5,000, £6,000 a year in energy bills? How, how can this be possible? People are not going to pay it. Even if they were so angry and so against paying it, they're just simply not going to be able to afford to pay it. But get this, right? I have got BP's profits in front of me. BP made £6.4 billion profit last year, and they paid £127 million in tax. BP and Shell have made record soaring profits, the highest profits they've ever made And that in and of itself, there's nothing wrong with that. But why the fuck are the government pushing the energy cap up and up and up? 100%, 200%, 300%, 400% increase in your energy bills, yet BP and Shell can make record billions of profits. What is going on? What are they not telling us? What control do the energy companies have over our government? Oh, and by the way, where is our Prime Minister? Oh, wait a minute, we don't have a Prime Minister. So we currently don't have a Prime Minister. The one that was one, that's supposed to be one, is off around on a jolly somewhere, not running our country. And then we've got two people who are— maybe one of them's gonna become a Prime Minister while all this shit is going on. What is going on with our country? This is— do you remember a bigger energy crisis than this? We are being energy blackmailed. Putin has us by the balls. Even though there are so many other sources of electricity and energy other than gas, somehow the price is pegged, and somehow He's got us by the balls. And as if he wasn't going to fight back when there was all the sanctions and all the oligarchs sent away back to Russia and all the money flows shut down. Oh yeah, let's just shut down all Putin's money and let's send all the Russian oligarch billionaires that are probably fairly well controlled by him back to Russia and it'll all be fine. Now, Sean has said here energy companies shouldn't be making ridiculous profits. I have no problem with companies making profits, uh, I have a massive problem with company making record outrageous profits while the masses are struggling and there being no windfall tax. Why don't the UK government just impose a windfall tax? I mean, Here's the thing. Tax is a redistribution of wealth. It's what it does. So we have a shortage of money. We have an economic crisis. So why not just redistribute the wealth? That's what a windfall tax is. Oh, they're making windfall anomaly profits. No worries, that needs to be distributed. Let's make a windfall anomaly tax. Job done, back to normal. Well, maybe not back to normal, but I don't even know what to say. What do you think? Let me know in the comments. Oh well, I mean, do you think the government have any idea what they're doing? So I heard that, um, they're talking about a fast track to nuclear power. Yeah, what, 3 years, 5 years? How does that sort out the next 3 months, 6 months? How does that sort out the upcoming winter? I bet you, by the way, Sod's Law of— we had pandemic, lockdown, wars— Sod's Law, it'll be the coldest winter ever. The bills on some of my properties where I pay— my tenants pay me all-inclusive, so I pay their bills on those properties that I own— my bills have gone up £400,000. Thankfully, I have a very smart business partner who knows how to make big contingency plans And we may figure that out. We'll probably figure that out. It'll probably hurt our pocket a bit, but we'll figure it out. But what about someone who earns 15 grand a year, 25, 20 grand a year, 25 grand a year, and their heating is going to go up to 6 grand a year? What about these people? What about the masses, the working class, the middle class, which is becoming the working class? And like, I do not have anything against billionaires. I do not have anything against companies who make big profits. In fact, I've been a bit of a defender of billionaires and big corporations. They generate loads of taxes. It's not just corp tax. There's loads of taxes. There's loads of jobs they create. But, but, how can BP make £6.4 billion and only pay £127 million in tax? It's wrong. It's really wrong. Now, if we were in prosperous times, fine, but we're not. Inflation is double, and then it'll be double double digits. So, um, inflation is definitely now over 10%. It's actually predicted, if the energy cap keeps going up or on the trajectory that it is, Goldman Sachs predicted that inflation will be 22.4%. That's double double digit. Someone is clearly a, um, fellow Peterborian here. Landlords in Peterborough putting the rents up. What choice do landlords have? I'd love to not put my rents up, but my bills have just gone up £400,000 a year that I'm paying for my tenants. I have to put the, the rents up. And by the way, I won't be able to put it up anywhere near to cover the cost. So then I got to think about putting solar panels across all my buildings. And how many years is it going to take for me to get that money back? And is there support from the government for putting the solar panels on? No. Is there any support with energy? £400 maybe. The country is fucked. And do you know what most of this started from the lockdown, I believe. All right, there was Brexit, and all right, there was legacy issues from previous governments, and all right, we'd had a lot of prosperity and we were probably moving into that part of the cycle. Yes, yes, yes. But most of this, I believe, was linked to pandemic lockdown, shutting us down, shutting supply. Now, of course, also being, um, you know, let's bend over to America and do whatever America says. What happened to the British Empire? So no choice but probably but to support America and stand against Russia. And, and now look at it. I think it's a freaking disgrace that energy companies can make record billions, like 127 out of 6 billion. What's that? Not even 5%. 4%. BP— let me say this again, right? BP looks like they paid 4% corp tax, made £6.4 billion, yet the government won't windfall tax them. So the government are putting your energy bills up and up and up and up and up and up and up and up and up, but they won't windfall tax some of the billions. And I bet, by the way, I bet Shell are making even more than BP, like a lot more, I bet. How's this fucking right? Boris, where are you? You still have a fucking job. Oh, oh, you're traveling around while you sort out your post-political career. We don't even have a prime minister, and All right, let me be empathetic. What actually can they do? Well, I don't know, that these energy companies must have some deal with our governments. I think Liz Truss said, ah, well, if we do windfall taxes, it will reduce investment into the UK. What about the people who live in the UK? What about the 60, 70 billion— 60, 70 million people who Their food's gone up. Their travel's gone up. Their electric, their gas has gone up 400% and it's going to go more and more and more. Isn't an energy cap there to protect the consumer so the energy companies don't just send your bills through the roof? Is that not what it's for? I don't know what to say other than it's a fucking disgrace. Why can't the government just pass some of this pain on to the energy companies bearing in mind they're making billions of record profits? Someone enlighten me, please. I don't want to guess, but something fishy sounds like it's going on here. So a lot of people have been saying in my lives I won't pay the energy bills, I'll go down to London and protest. People are fucking angry. They are angry, and rightly so. Now, some things you can't blame the government for, but isn't a government's purpose when running an economy to essentially let businesses compete but then impose taxes to distribute the wealth for the better of the people, for the services that the people require. Is that not their role as government, to govern? So they step in and lock you down 935 times for something that definitely in lockdown 2.0 and Omicron, it was pretty obvious that was not going to kill anyone. Even Rishi came out and said we shouldn't have locked down. I said that from pretty early on, and not because there wasn't any risk of the virus, but what about the millions of people who lose money, lose jobs, lose employment, lose businesses? What about the billions in production and economy that just completely stops? What about the long-term effects of that? Because I'm telling you, that's— that could create a 10-year depression. Yet they're doing nothing about it. They're having a laugh. They were having parties while we're locked down, and now there's no PM, and our PM is abroad while we've got one of the biggest crises we've ever seen, which is this energy cap raise, raise, raise, raise, raise, raise. It's unbelievable. Penny has said it's all planned. What's planned? New World Order, Great Reset. World Economic Forum, Illuminati cabal. This is what people are all saying, but I don't know, I don't see any proof of that. I just see government in trillions of debt with billions of interest with no idea what to fucking do, probably cornered and controlled by big corporations because he clearly can't get any money out of them in tax. Here's the thing, here's the sad thing. And I didn't think I'd, you know, I am a believer in free market capitalism, which by the way we don't have now. Whatever system we've got now is not free market capitalism. It's veiled socialism. It's not free market capitalism. But I am more of a fan of that. But government haven't got any money. Trillions in debt, billions in interest. And for some reason they're not fairly charging the massive corporations. So they're unfairly charging you. They're unfairly taxing employees and small business owners. I'm an entrepreneur, I have small businesses. You might be an entrepreneur, you might have small businesses, you might be employed. We are the ones getting fucked left, right, and center. Yet the companies that earn billions get 4% tax or 2% tax. I didn't think I'd get on that high horse, but I think it's got so bad that it's really wrong now. Because fine, let them be if there is prosperity and the economy is good. Let them be. But it's not. You can't have corporations making record billions and the average person's food and fuel and energy so high and inflation so high and wages keeping up nowhere near inflation. You can't have it. The people will not take it, and it will get a lot freaking worse before it gets better. Mark my words. It just seems so wrong. And you must protect yourself. You must protect your cash, protect your time. You must start some kind of side hustle. If you thought about starting a side hustle, stop thinking about it and start doing it. You need multiple income streams, you need assets, you need inflation-beating assets. You can't rely on your employer, you can't rely on one income stream because your employer can't rely on its government to look after it properly. Like, what the, what the government should be doing is incentivizing all employers to employ so then we can fuel up the job market. Should be incentivising employers to build and produce, giving it subsidies and support to make things, to build things, to produce things, to innovate, to disrupt, to spend R&D budget. But it's doing none of this, none of it. Instead, it's just taxing on taxing on taxing on taxing. And by the way, the small business community generates much of the economy. That's getting screwed. Corp tax is supposed to go up from 19% to 25%. That didn't come down yet. It came down in the banking crisis of 2008. They bailed the banks out. How can they fucking bail the banks out but not help the people? Doesn't make any difference, any sense to me whatsoever. I can moan about it, you can moan about it. Yeah, crime is really bad. There's mothers of abused children acting as police because the police are underfunded. There is no NHS now because you can't freaking well get in. As you can see, I'm relatively speechless. I would like to ask you, what can we do? What are your thoughts? Please share this video. Let's discuss what should be done. Let's hold our government to account. What you can do is start a side hustle. You can learn about money, learn about the financial system. You can keep relatively low cash other than just general living and protect it by putting it into inflation-beating assets like gold and real estate and property. And you're gonna have to start a second income, or maybe you're gonna have to even have a third income. You're gonna have to have a side hustle. You're gonna have to start that business. By the way, as much as I have ranted a bit here, at least when you're an employer and you're an entrepreneur, at least you can get your taxes down, you can make savings, you can offset allowances. There are still some that are left. So you must do these things. You must work your tax down, work your extra income up. You can't save or hide or hoard. That's— you're not going to get through this if you do. You can't hide it out and ride it out. You've got to scale it out, earn it out, multiple streams of income it out, get your tax down it out. And I believe a great way for you to do that is to join Rob.team. Because Rob.team is my anti-system financial platform to teach you stuff about money you should have learned in school but didn't. I just want to say you have to take responsibility. I am pissed off with the government, and I'll probably be all right because I've already built, you know, my empire. But the government are doing their best to break that down, and I'm not going to have it. And I might see you in the protests in London because you know what, people are fucking angry and it's wrong and they have to do something about it and not, you know, vacuous words. Peter said, Rob, what planet you on? I can't afford my bills. This is my whole point, Peter. I think I'm speaking for many people who are in this situation and Rob.team can help you get out of that situation. And you can learn how to do all of this— hundreds plus hours going back and masterclasses every single week. In Rob.team. So I'll see you in Rob.team. Just type Rob.team into a new window. And let me ask you this one more time, government: why don't you just windfall tax the energy companies? Hmm, I'd love an answer on that one. And remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything. Thanks for tuning in. Maybe you might want to share this. Maybe we can help shed some light on Why these energy companies are making record billions of profits and there's no willful— windfall tax, and then the energy caps going up and up and up and up and up and up and up and up and up. Aren't energy caps supposed to be protecting the ordinary person?
