Major Incident Declared in London 😳

The London Fire Brigade declared a major incident as the UK hit 40.3°C, breaking temperature records at 34 locations. Rob Moore links the heatwave to climate change, reports widespread fires across London and Europe, and offers safety tips: stay hydrated, avoid travel, protect pets, keep water in your car.

So a major incident has been declared in London. Now, I semi-warned about this yesterday, and some of the people on my video were a bit derisory.
Don't worry about it, it's just some sun. Common sense, drink lots of water.
But actually, a major incident has now been declared in London. So the London Fire Brigade declares a major incident after a number of fires break out in and around the capital city of London. There's, um, forest fires across Europe, um, many houses have caught fire in London, and we've officially now had the hottest day on record ever. So the UK record— records its hottest ever day of 40.3 degrees C. 34 locations have exceeded the UK's previous highest recorded temperature. So actually, if nothing else, this is pretty major news. Now let me tell you this bit: the extreme heat is fueled by climate change which is making heat waves more intense, more frequent, and more likely. And this is, um, science and research have been warning about this. So I would love your thoughts on climate change. Honestly, I just thought it was a heat wave, um, but you know, many people are saying that this extreme heat is climate change. So I would love your thoughts on that in the comments. So check this out, right? Um, Wennington residents watch fire ravage homes on TV. So East London homes are literally ablaze from the heat. Um, there's large wildfires across the UK. Greek authorities evacuate residents to the east of Athens. There's a major incident just now, breaking news declared in Hertfordshire. Um, the heatwave is going across Europe. It's created massive chaos, uh, along the rails. There's even been fires, um, on the rails. More than 30 locations in the UK exceeded the UK's previous highest temperature record. Coningsby, 40.3 degrees. St. James's Park, 40.2 degrees. Heathrow, 40.2 degrees. Gringley-on-the-Hill, 40.1. Kew Gardens, 40.1. Northolt, 40°C. Ah, but there is a bit of rain now. Um, so if, if nothing else, pretty interesting news. Um, is this a climate change thing? Is this something we're going to have to get more used to, these heat waves? Or are they just adding that in for a bit of sensationalism? I have been warning people now twice, at least twice, on my videos. Look, stay safe. Maybe stay indoors. Maybe don't travel if you can help it. Certainly stay cool, hydrated, in the shade. Do not put your animals in the car. Um, and just sort of try and figure out how you can plan your next couple of days to stay safe. Because a few people will kind of say, come on, Rob, it's only summer. It's always this hot in Australia. Yeah, yeah, but in Australia and Dubai, this is normal for you, and your country is set up for this. In the UK, this is not normal for us, and we are not set up for this. Georgia said he loves the heatwave. Now honestly, I'm not complaining. The Brits, we love a complaint.
Oh, it's too cold.
Oh, it's too hot.
Oh, it's raining. Oh, there's a drought. Oh, there's a flood.
Oh, it's I know we just love to complain about the weather, but actually in this instance, I just wanted to share, you know, I wanted to use my platform for good because I do worry that at the end of this heatwave there's going to be some bad news and some tragedies, and I really don't want that to happen. So in London, a major incident has been declared, which the London Fire Brigade has declared a major incident after a number of fires break out across the capital. In London, major blazes in villages, in fields, and this is not something we've seen for decades in London. Record temperatures of 40.3 degrees C. 34 locations have beaten the previous highest temperature on record in the UK. They're urging you not to have barbecues, not to have or make bonfires. Scientists are saying that a lot of this heat is fueled by climate change, which is making heat waves more intense, more frequent, more likely, and it's spreading across Europe. Georgia said there's so many people are walking dogs in the heat, um, she wanted to scream at them. Absolutely right, keep your pets indoors. Maybe just you, just do a fair bit less. You know, a lot of people have been saying to me on my videos, oh, Rob, it's just common sense. Yeah, but sometimes you don't plan your day. Sometimes, you know, like if you've got an old car, don't go and freaking drive for 2 hours. Make sure the water's topped up, make sure the air conditioning works, because yeah, I just want to do my bit. I have done my bit. I have interrupted my normal content. I'll carry on talking about business and entrepreneurship and everything else once this is all normalized and died down. You know, if you look across the news, there's a lot of, um, everyone's going on strike. So Royal Mail to go on strike after, um, airline workers are likely to go on strike after rail workers went on strike. Everyone's bloody going on strike. Um, add to this the hit— I mean, think about it, right? The strikes the heatwave, COVID lockdown, wars, massive taxation, soaring cost of living crisis. I mean, have you ever seen so many crazy things all happening at once? What's going on? Crazy life at the moment, crazy times. Holy shit, I don't know what's going on. It's madness. Anyway, stay safe. I love you. I care about you. Stay safe. Use your common sense. Um, let the heatwave go and then go on long drives and long walks and anything else you want to do. Take it easy. Mwah! Care about you. In 1976 this happened, Lisa said, and we are still here. I bet you some people died in 1976, Lisa, in the heatwave. So you're still here. I wasn't born then. Um, but yeah, look, some people have been saying that the media is fueling the anxiety and the fear porn of this heatwave. Um, actually, I think it's a good thing that, like, if you look at BBC News, the hidden dangers of summertime swimming. Europe's record temperatures in maps and charts. How to keep animals cool in the hot weather. Why does the heat make you drowsy? I actually think it's really good to see fair warnings and the media, um, giving you information and sharing and warning about the extreme heat. John has said doom monger. No, mate, no. Come on, guys, watch. Listen, take it seriously. Um, you know, it's one thing just spreading rumors and hearsay, but people are probably going to die in this heat wave. Some people are going to get stuck there, not going to be prepared. And I just feel like I should be— I'm speaking out about this. Um, you know, I speak out about freedom of speech, I speak out about increased taxation, I speak out about the soaring cost of living crisis. I speak out about important issues because most people don't. And actually, see, this is a relevant thing to speak out about. And if you don't, you can just leave the live and come and tune in tomorrow. But if you do, maybe hit the share button because we're not out of this yet. We may have a couple more days of this. There's fires raging across, um, London. And we've hit record temperatures, and London and the fire brigade have declared a major incident. And look, they wouldn't do this if it wasn't. Chelsea— no, James has said, 'You're part of the problem.' James, I think you mean 'you are.' You are, Y-O-U apostrophe R-E, not 'your' as in 'my.' So, um, if you're gonna criticize me, get your grammar correct. I'm not part of the problem, James. I didn't create climate change. I didn't make the sun. Um, how is this video on sharing the major incident in London and maybe just saying to take care and be careful— how is that fueling the problem? And what is the problem? What is the problem, um, of commenting on things that are going on in the world in a way that's hopefully useful to others? What is the problem? Tell me. Um, James has said again, who's paying you? I'm an entrepreneur, I own my own business, I've made hundreds of millions of pounds, I pay myself. Remember, you're not important, it's you are 'Not important, James.' Not your, you are, or you apostrophe are. Now, if I'm not important, why are you watching me? My mum thinks I'm important. My wife and my kids think I'm important. The millions of people who watch my content every month think I'm important. But you're just one critic on a Facebook Live who doesn't really have anything to say. Says I'm part of the problem, but what's the problem? The problem is heatwave. How's that? How am I part of the heatwave problem? Did I create climate change? If I could do that, I'd be doing more than Facebook Lives. I'm telling people that there's a major incident in London, to be safe, to be careful, to take it seriously, to not diminish its importance. And yet that's a problem, and I'm part of the problem. Hmm, keep coming, James. You gotta do better than— you see, my critics, my trolls, my haters, they need to up their game. They're not doing well enough. Come on, give me better. Give me some more banter. Stay in the shade, take it easy. Major incident declared in London. Fires are raging in houses. And in fields. Exactly, even I'm sweating on a live, David. I hope no one dies through it all. I hope no animals die, no people die, um, and I just think some people are just not taking it seriously enough. It's not doom-mongering, it's not fear-mongering, because it's a fair fucking warning. Now, if I was talking about the New World Order, you are being controlled, they are watching your every move, There's CCTV in your smoke alarms. They're listening through your devices, perpetuated by the media controlling you. They're going to chip you. The vaccine is a latent weapon inside you. If I was saying that, then I would be perpetuating fear not based on fact, but I ain't doing that shit. Oh, by the way, it's also an experimental video for me because something weird has happened to me on Facebook the last couple of days. My video's reach has gone down quite a bit, and, um, what my, um, brand manager said, it might just be a glitch. I just thought I'd do a live and see what's happening. It's definitely something weird going on. Would you agree, by the way, that there's a bit of a revolution coming? Oh, careful, James. James is going to say I'm perpetuating the problem. There's a revolution coming, but inflation is crazy high, isn't it? Double digit, um, which is, you know, historically very high. And, um, you know, when really high— in— uh, when really high inflation happens, you are— it often precedes a bit of a revolution. A revolution against the banks, the currency, the governments, etc. So we had COVID Lockdowns, vaccinations, wars, huge taxes, massive soaring cost of living, you know, soon to be a new Prime Minister because of the resignation of the last one. Now we've got this heatwave, these major incidents declared. It's crazy, crazy times. Have you ever seen anything like this in a 2-year period? Hmm, something to think about. But I am not going to hypothesize or create, um, fear porn on that. Um, Joe has said— this is an interesting question, Joe, I can answer this on a common sense point of view— Joe said, I'm struggling to understand why other cities in the world can handle hotter climate than the last couple of days. Because they're used to it, they're set up for it, their architecture is made for it. Their infrastructure is made for it, um, their clothing is made for it, their lifestyle is made for it, their services are made for it. Whereas in the UK, it's not made for it. And this is a point I was trying to make, you know, 40 degrees in the UK Fahrenheit, um, sorry, Celsius, 40 degrees Celsius in the UK, it's like bloody 60 degrees Celsius in Dubai or Australia. Which would be a major issue. We're just not built this way because this is a record-breaking heatwave. And isn't that something that's interesting to talk about? Isn't it nice not to talk about Ukraine, war, politics, tax, government, inflation, soaring cost of living? Isn't it nice not to talk about that for a moment? I personally think it is. Anyway, don't worry, because once the heatwave is gone in a day or two, I'm going to give you information to start and scale your business, to get better financial education and knowledge.
