McDonalds in the Metaverse š³

McDonald's filed ten trademark applications for virtual restaurants and NFTs in the metaverse. Rob Moore argues major brands are moving into Web 3.0 and advertisers need to follow users into virtual worlds, comparing it to past shifts to email and social media.

So McDonald's have just filed 10 trademarks to be in the metaverse. I think this is huge news. Now, I don't know what you know about the metaverse. I would love the discussion to kick off in the comments about the metaverse because I think some people are very confused about what it is and other people believe it really is the future now. So I'm going to tell you what's happened with McDonald's now having 10 trademarks and moving into the metaverse, and then let's have a discussion about where this goes, because I actually think we need to be watching this very closely. A lot of people have been saying to me recently, oh, I'm not interested in NFTs, but that's like saying I'm not interested in the internet and I'm not interested in email. You might not at the time be interested in the internet or in email, but you are wise to watch emerging innovations and trends. Now, I have made that mistake in the past of listening to people go on about new platforms, like for example Gary Vee banging on about TikTok. I'm like, what a waste of time this is. And he was right. I'm sure we've all missed new trends, etc. So I think it's really wise for you, if you take nothing from this content other than watch this emergent trend, innovation, disruption of Web 3.0, the metaverse, NFTs, etc. Now, it'sā this is not just a virtual Big Mac, by the way. At first, I must admit, when I saw Adidas, Nike, Walmart, and now McDonald's getting into the metaverse, I'm like, how on earth can, um, you wear trainers and buy trainers in the metaverse? How can you eat burgers in the metaverse, but actually this is, I think, a very smart move, right? So what's happened is McDonald's have filed 10 different trademarks for usage in the virtual world metaverse. Now Adidas, Nike, Walmart, they've already gone into virtual reality platforms and now McDonald's have filed 10 trademarks. And this is really interesting. So trademarks for downloadable multimedia files containing artwork. And also, get this, trademarks for NFTs. Now, I still haven't got my head around how McDonald's are going to come and play in the NFT world. I'd love your thoughts. I've got an NFT launch coming up in a couple of weeks' time. I'll share with you how you can have a little voyeuristic watch of that or get involved. But I haven't yet figured out how McDonald's are going to have a play in the NFT space, but that's going to be really interesting. Anything. But here's what I do think will be huge for them. So another trademark that they've filed is operating a virtual restaurant featuring actual and virtual goods. Now, at first I thought, virtual restaurant, what's the point? But if you're in VR, if you're in the metaverse, and you can see ads for McDonald's, you might then think of going and ordering a, um, you know, a delivery, and you can actually get McDonald's home delivered on the metaverse from this trademark filing. So if you think about that, it's really clever because if more kids, and ultimately then us older generations, are going to be in the metaverse, it's just like advertising on TV, advertising on email, and advertising on the internet. That's why people are calling this Web 3.0, because, you know, where were all the advertisers when we were all on email? On email banners. Where were all the advertisers when we're all on the internet, following us on the internet, pixeling us and chasing us on the internet? Where are all the advertisers when we're all on social media? On social media. Where are all the advertisers when everyone's watching the Super Bowl? On the Super Bowl. Where are all the advertisers going to be when we're all in the metaverse? In the metaverse. So you're going to find your contacts, your clients, your customers, your followers, your fans. You're going to find your future dates on the metaverse if everyone moves into the metaverse, which it looks like, um, could happen. So this is not just the future, this is now. You need to stay and watch this game. So number 1, please share this message if you do get the chance. I think that I definitely missed the, the big rise in YouTube. I got in a bit late. I missed the big rise in TikTok. I got in a bit late. I missed the big rise in going live because I was a bit uncomfortable with that. I missed the early adoption of podcasting And I'm sureā well, give me a yes in the comments if you also missed some of the big hockey stick growth curves of social media, email, the internet, etc. Web 1.0 passed you by. Web 2.0 passed you by. Web 3.0 is here and now. NFTs, virtual reality, the metaverse. Now look, I've not got a play, I've not got a horse in the metaverse game. I don't have an ulterior motive to talk to you about it. Other than I want to help you with innovation, disruption, and to, you know, start and scale your business, get better financial education and knowledge, and go where the people are. So I believe you must watch the metaverse space. If everyone is in the metaverse, you need to be in the metaverse. The metaverse might be the new version of social media where everyone is socializing. So social media could start to die out. I mean, after all, Facebook changed their name to Meta, and I could see in the future where Facebook isn't social media anymore. It's all in the metaverse. So, um, let me know in the chat what you think about the NFT play here. Where could McDonald's and Adidas and Nike and other companies like that have NFT plays? I saw Nike have launched NFT trainers. I saw Tyson Fury has just launched his series of NFTs. So the NFT and metaverse is a big part of this Web3 3.0. Um, I actually have my NFT launch coming up in a couple of weeks' time. So if you go to robmoore.com/nft, that's robmoore.com/nft, you can actually see some images of my NFTs at the bottom, although they're the early versions. The actual minting is happening in the next few days. But you can also pop your name and details in there and gain first early access to my NFT launch. Now My NFT launch is obviously going to be a launch of NFTs, but I'm also going to do an education on the NFT space. So, um, you know, hey, look, if you just want to learn about the NFT space and, you know, how to create utility and value and assets and resourcesā because look, whilst I'd love to be able to sell you a JPEG for a million dollars, let's be honest, I'd loveā who wouldn't love to do that? That's not where the value is. The value is in the utility, the assets, the access, the VIP nature of it, the collectability of it, um, the perks, the bonuses, etc. So if you go to robmoore.com/nft, um, I'm going to send you just a few emails over the next couple of weeks telling you what my resources, assets, bonuses, and perks are. You'll get a little bit of an ongoing education of what NFTs are. I've just had 3 people in the comments say I don't really know what NFTs is, so I'll talk to you about the the 5 different elements of NFTs: the asset, the tech, the value, the art and the imagery, etc. And I'm going to give you early access to watch me unpick my NFT launch. Of course, if you want to grab one, you can, but there's only 43. So most people areā I've got 1.1 million followers on social media, including my email database and podcasting, that probably goes over 2 million. So there's only 43 of you, um, that are going to be able to get one. But look, you just want to observe what's going on, go to robmoore.com/nft. You want to get in on my NFT launch, go to robmoore.com/nft. Please also hit the share button because I think that I made some mistakes missing out on the big boom in email, missing out on the big boom in the internet, missing out on the big boom on social media, missing out on the big boom on TikTok and YouTube and podcasting, missing out on the big boom of going live. And I got there in the end, but I'm a bit old and slow. And I don't want you to miss out on the big boom of NFTs, Web 3.0, and the metaverse. Now, it might come to nothing. There is that risk, of course, but that's the risk of every new market and new innovation. But if you get in early enough, then, you know, you can gain followers and fans and reach and revenue and impact and income. You can create value because, you know, a few people are saying, oh, NFTs are a scam and the metaverse is not nothing, it's useless, it's nonsense, it's gonna die. But these schemes and scams are only schemes and scams if people use them as a scheme and a scam. Rail has been brilliant. I'm sure you've been on a train. I'm sure you're not like, "Oh, train is a scam." But yet it's really good for robbery. And actually it accelerated robbery when trains first came into play. So steel and rail accelerated our speed of travel, but it accelerated robbery. You know, if you think about bank transfers, it accelerated the speed of money transfer, But also the hacks and the scams and the theft was also increased. So, you know, when you remove friction and increase speed, you increase the speed of the good and the bad. This is just normal. But it's up to you to figure out what's good. It's up to you to see where the value is instead of going, oh, that's a scam, that's a scheme, that's not going to work. Because if you say that forever, you're never going to do anything. Like, you know, we've all had a failed relationship, haven't we? And you didn't have a failed relationship and go, oh well, I'm never dating again. I hate men, I hate women. That's it. I tried it once, it was a scam. Never again. I'm going to be single for the rest of my life. But we often do this with new technology because I think it's often a manifestation of our own fear. Like, I don't want to get left behind. I'm sure you don't want to get left behind. Do you want to get left behind from the internet 2.0 into 3.0? No, you don't. So you've got to stay on top of this in my view, which is why I'm talking about it, um, you know, a fair bit at the moment. So stay, um, stay abreast of NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and the metaverse. Go to robmoore.com/nft, and I'm going to do a mini education series on NFTs and also open you up early and first to my NFT launch. And I've got lots of value and resources and benefits and unlockable contract features over the years as part of my NFT launch. Um, the summary then, um, McDonald's have applied for 10 trademarks for the metaverse. Adidas, Nike, Walmart are already in and have already done it. And essentially they've applied for trademarks for downloadable multimedia, text, audio, video, non-fungible tokens, operating virtual restaurants and seeā and selling or featuring virtual goods, and doing online home delivery from the metaverse. That for me is the smart play. If everyone's on the metaverse and you can order online home delivery for McDonald's, and then they're the first in, they're going to get this early adopter monopoly. So very powerful. This is the future, but this is also the now. Watch this space. Um, the link is robmoore.com/nft for my, um, NFT series, my NFT education information. Toā for me to unpick my NFT creation and launch for you to model, should you choose. And then ultimately, if you want to grab one in the future, that's fine. I'll tell you before anybody else. So hit the share button. This metaverse is not going away, it's only just started. NFTs are not going away, they've only just started. Start now, get perfect later, and don't miss out on another new innovative and disruptive market, because I know we all have. Thanks for tuning in. I'll see you at robmoore.com/nft. And remember this: if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
