Netflix have made a bold move and have canceled Meghan Markle. Meghan Markle was developing an animated series. The series was called Pearl, um, and it was an animated series which I'll talk about in a moment. And Netflix have canceled it, but they haven't just canceled one animated series. They've canceled an animated series created by Meghan Markle, which I believe is significantly big news because obviously Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are megastars. Now I want to just talk to you about what's happened briefly, but first, I believe in this world you can't just rely on being a celebrity. On being famous. You have to provide value. And Meghan Markle went on Oprah and pretty much threw the royal family under the bus. She has come in and is part to blame for breaking up relationships within the royal family. Now, I'm not in there as Meghan or the Queen's aide, So I can't say everything that's going on, but nor can any of us. But I did watch Oprah, and I did see how, um, Oprah really took the side of Meghan Markle, uh, and together really they tarnished an entire multi-thousands-of-years institution called the royal family. Now let me know what your thoughts are on that. The next thing that happened is that Meghan Markle got paid upfront tens of millions of pounds or dollars from Spotify to create a podcast and has recorded one episode in, what, 2, 3 years? Excuse me. Now some have said, who cares? Normally I wouldn't talk of such things if it were just superficial and base, but this isn't. Meghan Markle is becoming one of the most influential people in the world, yet is getting away, I think, with things that you or I could not get away with. And if we don't speak up and hold these people to account, these people are put in the higher echelon of society and they are looked up to by millions. You nor I would absolutely no way get away with being paid tens of millions by Spotify to produce one episode in 2 or 3 years. No way. We'd be canceled and it would be a refund. So let me know what you, you think about that. Also, Meghan Markle publicly lent on Spotify essentially to control and even maybe cancel Joe Rogan. When Joe Rogan was interviewing guests that weren't the mainstream narrative. What doesā what right and power does Meghan Markle or Neil Young or anyone else have to attempt to lean on Spotify and counsel Joe Rogan? Joe Rogan, in my view, is one of the most influential independent creators of our time. And we need independent creators to stand against mainstream. And Meghan Markle has done one episode in two years and is leaning on Spotify to cancel Joe Rogan, leaned on ITV, got Piers Morgan cancelled, getting paid tens of millions by Spotify to create no content, getting paid tens of millions by Netflix to create no content. So to the three or four of you I can see that are saying, why am I commenting on this, and very disappointed in you, Well, I'm a bit disappointed in you for not seeing the bigger picture, for not speaking up or out on the important matters of our time. Now, I have nothing against Meghan Markle. I don't know Meghan Markle personally, and if I were able to have a conversation and to get a point of view, I would. But, you know, I'm not likely to get a call from Meghan Markle. But Meghan Markle and her show and her series Pearl would not have been cancelled from Netflix Was she offering value to the world? So the lesson here is offer value to the world. Don't become complacent. Don't think that your position or your status is good enough. This is my view, and this is important. Now, if I'd have said, oh, Netflix have cancelled a series, just a random series, oh, and someone asked Spotify to cancel Joe Rogan, oh, and someone asked ITV to cancel Piers Morgan, and I didn't say who, you'd be like, what's Rob talking about? Now, I have nothing against Meghan Markle. I just think that she needs to provide more value. She's taking tens of millions from Netflix and tens of millions from Spotify, but she's not doing anything valuable for it. When she was in Suits, she was freaking valuable. Brilliant actress, great show. So she needs to start doing things that are more valuable, stop having a go at everyone else like Joe Rogan and Ives and Piers Morgan, etc., and create value. Now this is a great lesson because there are many famous people and many people in mainstream media, they're not really creating value. And if you create value and fair exchange, then you will always be useful and you will always be, um, valuable to society, and you'll always be able to make a fair living. Uh, no, I don't have anything against Meghan Markle. I have something against her trying to cancel Piers Morgan, trying to cancel Joe Rogan. And you know, she's been canceled by Netflix now because At the end of the day, if her animated series, Pearl, would have been valuable and she'd have been more valuable, it wouldn't have got cancelled. Because let's be honest, she's A-list, she's prime time, she is a marketing dream for Netflix, yet she's been cancelled. And by the way, the series was planned to centre on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who is inspired by influential women of history. I think that sounds like a great concept. So here is my message. Number 1, our mainstream media celebrities and the people we look up to, we should hold them to account. Number 2, we should all provide value, and some people who are very high in society seem to be getting away with not providing much value. Like the tens of millions that Meghan Markle has received, up received upfront from Spotify to record one, one podcast episode. Imagine if that went to Ukraine. Imagine if that went to the developing world. Imagine if that went to humanitarian aid. You wouldn't get away with getting Ā£30 million off Spotify and recording one episode in 2 years. You wouldn't get away with it. If you wrote into ITV and said cancel Piers Morgan because he talked badly of me, you wouldn't get away with it. So why should She. This is not personal. I have not talked about Meghan Markle the person. I've talked about Meghan Markle's actions, and I would like to see a change. Not that she really cares, but I think she should. And I am British, and I saw what happened to the Queen and Prince Charles on Oprah, and it was imbalanced and one-sided, and I didn't think it was a fair representation of this nation or the royal family. And I'm not particularly pro-royals, and I don't particularly love the Queen and love Prince Charles and hate Harry and hate Meghan before you all start to judge. But you're all talking about it because if this was just another personā oh, I got paid Ā£200 up front to do a podcast, never did any episodesā no one would talk about it and no one would care. But the whole point is that it is Meghan Markle, one of the most famous influential people in the world, and I think she could be more useful and do more useful things. This is my humble opinion. Let me know what you think in the comments. Quick summary: Meghan Markle. Netflix have cancelled Meghan Markle's series Pearl. On the one hand, it's a shame because I think the concept of the adventures of a 12-year-old girl who is inspired by influential women from history, I think that's a brilliant concept. Clearly it wasn't executed well. Clearly it wasn't that valuable because Netflix wouldn't have cancelled it if it was. Because let's be honest, if you can market Meghan Markle, that is a multi, maybe Ā£100 million marketable brand. But she tried to cancel Joe Rogan, she canceled Piers Morgan, she canceled the royal family. And, um, you know, there should be pushback on that because who are you to do all of these things? Be valuable, be useful. You could be valuable, you could be useful. Thanks for tuning in. Hit the share button and remember this: if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
