My Deepest Failure/Regret (I’m Sorry)

Rob Moore regrets being slow to adopt AI, estimating his businesses could be 2-5× larger if he'd embraced it earlier. He's now invested seven figures, hired four AI experts, and integrated tools across his operations. He's hosting a free Zoom session to share what worked, what failed, and practical AI tools beyond ChatGPT.

My biggest failure, regret, um, and I am sorry for this, but I'll come to that. So I've done 10 years and more than 1,200 episodes on my podcast, my show Disruptors, and at the end, the last but one question I ask to all guests is, what's your biggest failure or regret? And I would say 2 in 3 kind of bullshit me, uh, and they say, well, I don't regret anything. There, there is no failure, there's only lessons. I don't live life in regret, what's the point? I actually don't agree with this, and, and I am It's like when people say money doesn't make you happy. If I offered you a million quid, would you not take it because it doesn't make you happy? I think you would. So I quite like thinking about regrets and failures. I don't dwell in them, or I try not to, and I try not to beat myself up about them. But actually, where you failed is great evidence on where you can improve. And what you regret is great evidence from what you can do or not do next time. Now thankfully, my biggest regrets aren't things I didn't do. Because personally, what's the saying? It's better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done. So if I do have regrets, and I do have some, it's things I've done, not things I haven't done. So if you're watching this and you're full of regret for things you haven't done, I would say, what are you waiting for? So this might surprise you. And in some regards, I am sorry about this, mostly for you who follow me and watch me. But probably my biggest failure or regret is not getting involved in technology quick enough. So anything I use that does well for me, like YouTube for my show Disruptors, or, um, now AI, for example, I'm slow to jump on the tech train because I'm worried about it breaking. I, I don't really like figuring out how to use new things. I just want it to work. I never read instruction manuals. So I probably should have maybe, what, 18 months ago, 2 years ago, taken AI really seriously. Obviously now everyone knows AI is going to steal low-level jobs. AI is going to 5 to 10x your time saving. Like look at search now on the internet with Gemini and ChatGPT and Grok. Just how quick and easy and how it's going to completely wiping out the internet or disrupting the internet. How it's going to be great for our health, our fitness, our wellbeing, our longevity. How it's going to disrupt information. How, like colleges and universities trying to stop people using AI. Colleges and universities use AI to check if people are cheating using AI. And AI has just disrupted itself with Deepseek. Do you know who Deepseek is? You know, the Chinese AI firm that came in, no pricing model, and just, hey, this is open source, have everything we have, all of our AI, have it all, anyone can have it all. And then the share price of all the AI firms just took an absolute nosedive. So, I regret not being quick enough into clear, obvious new trends and technology 'Cause I know my business would probably be 2 to 5 times bigger if I had. And, you know, I've been moaning and ranting about Labour and the government and the increase in National Insurance and taxes and the difficulty of employing really good people. Whereas if I'd have been much more on AI, I probably would've not had that problem. But I've changed it. So in the last 2 years, we have been researching AI. And in the last 9 months, we've been going all in on AI. I've invested more than 7 figures of my own money into my main 2 companies to figure out AI software tech systems to ensure that we don't just have to keep hiring staff and we can use automation. Because I think 3 things are gonna happen with AI. Number 1 is your job is gonna go and you are not gonna be very employable, especially on a lot of the low-end, low-skilled jobs. Maybe not manual labor, but you know. The second thing that could happen is you leverage it, you bring it into your life and your business, and your life is faster, easier, and your money is saved and made. Maybe you make 5 to 10 times more money. Maybe you save 5 to 10 times more time. I used AI for research for my last book, not to write, but to research, and I had an 8 grand editor I didn't need to hire. Then the third thing that you could do with AI, the third option for you is to, you get so good at AI that your business becomes AI. And if your business becomes AI, it's a bit like you investing in Apple shares when they started, or a bit like you setting up a Facebook when it started. So either your job's wiped out, you use it in your life and business and get a 5 to 10x in growth, or Your business becomes AI and you get 100x growth. They're the 3 things that I can see that are gonna happen with AI. And because of this and my regret for not getting onto it sooner, but behind the scenes investing 7 figures in it, I, I'm gonna get my 4 AI experts. I have 4 AI experts in my company. I'm gonna get them in on a Zoom and I'm gonna interview all 4 of them. And the first thing I'm gonna say is, what have we tried and what's failed? What broke? What broke? What broke? What broke? Okay, cool. So you don't have to make the same mistakes. Then I'm gonna ask them what's working the best. And they're each gonna give 2 or 3 different AI tools and areas in our business where AI is saving us money or making us money or speeding things up. And I decided to do this because I think everyone needs it. And because AI has been disruptive and because it's a regret of mine that I didn't jump onto tech quick enough. So if you wanna jump on this Zoom, as Deepseek has open-sourced AI and made it all free, I'm going to open source this Zoom and make it free. So the link is robmoore.live/sunday. That's robmoore.live/sunday. I wonder if you can guess what day it is. So, um, what we're going to cover and the time, um, is on the agenda on the link robmoore.live/sunday. No recordings, no replays, but, um, I'm gonna get my 4 top AI guys in and each one of them's gonna share what they tried and broke, what didn't work that they thought would, and what really is working so that you can save time leveraging my experience and 7 figures in investing in AI. And you can make money cuz I don't want you to be the option 1 where your job gets wiped out because of AI and you can hardly earn. Option number 2 is good for you, you know, using it and leveraging it in your life and business to 5 to 10x your return, your time saving, your money making. But option 3 is the big opportunity for you empire builders out there. Those of you that really want to, you know, have a big business or be able to scale really quickly. Those of you that figure out AI the quickest. Yeah, so in the gold rush, the ones with the shovels, selling the shovels. So, you know, like there's a lot of content and media agencies out there off the back of social media. Well, um, what, 98%, 95% of the population probably still struggling with AI because it's so new. Casey has said it's the fourth industrial revolution. I don't think I can disagree. So if you want to jump on the Zoom, I'll open source the AI information for you for free. I'll share with you what's working, and the link is robmoore.live/sunday. Robmoore.life/sunday. We'll share with you some tools that are working for us really well, and not just the obvious ones like ChatGPT. You know, where there's a lot more AI tools that can do a lot more than just ChatGPT. So we'll share those. And, you know, automating marketing, automating sales, you know, removing the need for staff and overhead and fixed costs. Yeah, there's a lot that's going on. So my biggest regret and failure, I would say, 'cause look, I've got 345 properties, but I've never lost anyone's money. I've never gone bust. So I haven't got massive big failures and regrets. I've made mistakes, of course. But actually, even though I'm doing all right in business, we've done over a quarter of a billion in sales. We've got the biggest business of our type in the UK. I could have been so much bigger and done so much more if I'd have leveraged tech and AI quicker. And that all changes now. Um, and I want to share it all with you. RobMoore.live/Sunday. So let me know in the comments what you think of AI. Do you think it's overall good and bad or bad for humanity? Um, which AI tools do you use? Please let me know that in the comments too. Let's share some information so we can help each other. Um, and what's your biggest regret and failure? I'd love to know. Thanks for tuning in. And remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
