My official apology to the government

In this video Rob Moore publicly apologizes to the UK government, claiming that its high inflation, quantitative easing, and low interest rates have unintentionally paid down his large mortgage portfolio. He explains that when money loses value, debt loses value at the same rate, so his tens‑of‑millions‑of‑pounds of property mortgages have been reduced by over £3.3 million in the past year. Moore uses this anecdote to teach a broader financial strategy: acquire inflation‑beating assets (primarily property), finance them with “good debt” at modest loan‑to‑value ratios (60‑70 %), and leverage the devaluation of debt to grow net worth. He predicts continued inflation (10‑15 %+), higher interest rates, and a potential recession that will create cheap assets for investors. Throughout, he promotes his educational platform Rob.team, highlighting a 9‑module, 10‑hour investing course priced at less than a large coffee, and urges viewers to join immediately. The video blends political critique, macro‑economic analysis, personal finance advice, and a sales pitch.

My official apology to the government. Now please bear with me because this isn't the easiest thing to do. Now I've been quite open and public about how I believe that the second lockdown was the wrong decision. The third soft lockdown was definitely the wrong decision. That the government debt in the trillions and the interest in the billions is too much, it's unsustainable, that the management of their budget has maybe been not the best. I mean, one whole year's budget, uh, on the pandemic and the lockdowns. I've expressed publicly that that's too much. I think the interest rates have been too low for too long, and inflation is too high, and it's gonna go much higher. And I've been quite open and critical about some of the decisions that our government have made. Certainly, parties in lockdown to me seemed very unfair and double standards when many businesses and individuals were struggling. And it, you know, we could be moving into a depression that could go on and on and on and on. And of course, this really high inflation and quantitative easing and printing of money and relatively low interest rates is wiping out your savings. The cost of living crisis and You know, part-funding some of our tax money in the war between Russia and Ukraine. I've been pretty outspoken and critical on all these things. But here's my official apology to the government. And that is that the government have been paying my mortgages off for me, and I'm super grateful. Thank you, Rishi. Thank you, Boris. Thank you, government. And I've done one or two videos on this, but people don't understand it. So I officially apologize to the government and officially thank you for your high inflation and high quantitative easing paying off my mortgages for me. Now, most people don't understand how this works, so I'm just going to tell you now. When inflation is high, it reduces the relative value and spending power of money. I think you know that, i.e., your cost of living goes up relatively, but it does the same to debt. So if you have— so I have about, I have tens of millions of pounds worth of mortgages, I don't know the exact number, but it's tens of millions of pounds. Now, these aren't bad debt loans. These are good debt mortgages on properties that make me hundreds of thousands of pounds in income a month gross. And because there's big inflation and big quantitative easing and big printing of money, yes, the cash and the money has gone down relatively in value, but so have all my mortgages and loans. And actually, the government have paid off more than £3.3 million relatively of my mortgages in the last 12 months. So I am officially sorry to Boris and Rishi and the government for my somewhat one-sided criticism of some of your policies. And I officially thank you for paying my mortgages down quicker than my tenants can, quicker than my mortgage repayments do, probably quicker than I could. Now, okay, I'm being somewhat jovial here, but there's a really good lesson in this, and I, I don't think people understand it. And even when I teach it, they get confused. So the only way to beat the banks, beat the system, beat high inflation, beat high taxation is to have inflation-beating assets. What that means is your cash and your investments are not in the bank or savings or government-backed investments like bonds. They are actually in assets that beat inflation, which means they need to be 10% plus a year at the moment, which by the way, property has been forced up partly because of inflation. So your cash and your investments need to be inflation-beating assets. And if you have good debt loans and mortgages that leverage up to build these assets, then when inflation is high and quantitative easing is high, your mortgages are being paid off really quickly because of this devaluation of money. Because as um, the devaluation of money happens, the devaluation of debt also happens. So actually, you want to be in real estate right now on property, and you do want mortgages on those properties. You don't want 75, 80, 85% mortgages. You probably want 70%, 65%, 60%. You know, you want a good equity-to-loan ratio, um, for sure. But I thank the government. And if the government keep pushing inflation up, which they will because it's gone up to 9.3, apparently 13.3 in October, apparently 15% plus in 2023— if they keep pushing inflation up, or inflation keeps pushing itself up, it's kind of both— I'm going to make sure I minimize my cash holdings and maximize my inflation-beating assets. And have good debt lending against them so I can leverage and have a higher asset value. Because you kind of triple win. You reduce your cash, so you reduce the loss of value through inflation. You increase your assets, which are pushed up by inflation. You increase your leverage, which means you have even more assets when you have good debt loans against them, which means you can have more assets than you'd usually be able to have. And then the government helping you pay your debt off big time. Big time. So if inflation is 10% plus this year, 15% next year, could be 20% the year after— I mean, this is highly likely— 35% of all your mortgages could be wiped off by the government in the next 2 years. So thank you, Boris Rishi. Thank you. I love you. Should send you a present in the post. But there's a really good lesson there on understanding the difference between cash, inflation-beating assets, good debt, leverage, etc. Now, if you'd like to learn all this stuff in more detail, learn how to protect your cash and get into assets that beat inflation and leverage good debt so the government can help you pay off your loans go and join Rob.team. But a lot of people are scared by inflation, they're scared by the government debt, they're scared by the threat of interest rate rises, and they don't understand if you have good debt against assets that beat inflation, this is a great time for you where the government are actually really helping. But they're not helping you. I know I said this is my official apology to the government The government aren't quantitative easing, and you know, inflation isn't soaring to help Rob Moore or to help investors and entrepreneurs, but it helps us. Now, someone said on here the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Well, they do, but it's not intentional. The rich get richer because they have assets, and assets are pushed up often by inflation. Because if you think about it, inflation is in some ways increase in prices. So that also pushes asset prices up. It's not completely linear, but it does. Um, so yes, your prices of your goods and your services and your heating and your eating are going up, but if you own assets, the prices of your assets are going up as well. But here's the double win: the assets are being forced up and the good debt is being forced down. So it's a great time to be an investor right now. Not a great time to be on the breadline. Not a great time to, um, you know, have a little amount of cash. So you want to get cash into inflation-beating assets, and you can learn that on the 9-module, 10-hour How to Invest series by joining rob.team. Just type rob.team into a new web page and I'll see you there. And let me know what you think about this in the comments. Did you understand what I said? Because I've talked about this a couple of times and people they find it hard to get their head around it. You know, when I say the government are helping you pay down your debt, they're like, but the government aren't repaying my loan. No, they're not physically giving you the money. It's going down in relative terms because of the increased cost of living and therefore the reduction of the cost of your debt. It works in both ways. So let me know that you understood it and that my explanation was clear. Let me know what you think. When do you think the recession is coming, by the way? How long do you think it will be? They're predicting 15% interest rates next year, which probably means— sorry, 15% inflation next year, which probably means 20% plus interest rates. What they're predicting, 3%. Now, 3% historically is not particularly high. I think 5% is a long-term average, but considering we've been not much over naught for more than a decade, This is going to cause some— people are going to default on some loans, therefore there's going to be some cheap assets coming out to the market. Uh, it's going to be an interesting time, but when it comes to investing and building assets, could be one of the greatest times in the last 14 years. Forgive me if I pronounce your name wrong, but I own— Yon Dolling has just signed up to Rob.team. Um, so go make sure you do the same thing. Sign up to rob.team.
