My Worst Financial Mistake (Cost Millions)

Rob Moore spent over a decade mistaking envy for hatred, which cost him millions. Once he reframed it as a signal of desire, he paid off £50k debt in a year, made his first million by 31, and built a net worth in the tens of millions with 340 rental units.

My worst financial mistake. This cost me millions, many millions. It's actually quite embarrassing. It is something I'm ashamed of, and I don't usually talk about it, but it's important that you know that there are things that you are doing or not doing that are costing you money, and People think failing businesses might be the biggest cost, you know, losing money. But I've never failed a business. I've evolved a business. I've never had to shut a business down, never not paid anyone back. So, you know, the big American influencers love to say about, oh, I failed 9 businesses. Haven't failed any. So that wasn't my worst financial mistake. Um, my worst financial mistake actually cost me more, and I've never gone bust, and I've never been properly sued. Envy was my worst financial mistake, but It wasn't— it was not understanding why envy is good. That was my worst financial mistake. Let me explain. So I remember the first time I saw someone driving a Ferrari in my city in Peterborough. There aren't many, and usually if they're driving a Ferrari in my city, they've stolen it. But I remember seeing this guy driving a Ferrari in some really slick suit. And I thought he's either some banker wanker, some yuppie who screwed people over, or he must be a drug dealer. And I'm ashamed to say that that's what I thought because I didn't even know the guy. I had no idea what he did for a living. Now, if it were me now, I would go up and give him my business card. I would ask him if he wanted to meet for lunch. I would ask him what he did for a living, you know, like the TikTokers do. 'How did you make your millions? How did you afford this car?' That's what I would do now, because I would be curious and open and my ego would have gone. But back then, I was envious, and my envy came out in hate and jealousy. But if I'm honest, inside, I just wanted the same thing. So I now know that envy is just someone's got what you want, and it hurts. And actually, that hurt is good. The reason that that hurt is good is because you can turn it into motivation. So up until the age of 26, 27, I had envy, and that was basically just, oh, you're doing better than me, and so I feel insecure. But I didn't feel it enough to use it as a motivation. Who's the easiest person to lie to? Yourself. So I would lie to myself that, 'Oh, they just screw people over. Oh, they deal in drugs. Oh, they're bankers and, you know, they just scam people.' And that made it okay for me, broke as an artist. And then one day, my dad had a huge nervous breakdown— another story for another time— in front of all of his customers, got beaten up by the police, sectioned. It was awful. One day I really sat in with that envy and I thought, envy is good because it's a motivator, because I want that. And it's okay to be honest about that. I want money, I want success, I want nice cars. And everything changed. And then when I saw the upside of envy, um, I got out of 50 grand's worth of debt within 12 months. I made my first million by age 31. I know this because I targeted age 30, and I felt like I'd failed. Um, I made my— became deca-millionaire net worth age 20— 35. I'm now 45. I stopped counting about 10 years ago, but I've done over a quarter of a billion in sales. I have 340 rental units. I have 7 supercars. Well, one of them's an Audi RS Q8, but super— a 4-wheel drive, um, super SUV. And this is all because I don't envy rich people anymore. And if I do feel envy, I'm self-aware enough to go, they've probably got what I want, and I just need to go and find it and get my ego away and go and learn from them. And that was my biggest financial mistake for 27— well, 20-plus years holding envy when actually it was just desire. So don't make the same financial mistake as me. Turn envy into desire. Be honest about your wants. You know, when people say, oh, I don't want to, I don't want to be rich, and you know There's no— you don't need to be rich. It's not all about money. Come on, be honest. You want a nicer house, you want a nicer car, you want a nicer travel, you want to put your kids through a nicer school. There's nothing wrong with wanting more money. So if you do want more money and you want to get some of the lessons that I've had, but you don't have to go through it costing you tens of millions of pounds like it did with me, I recommend you join my new Zoom class which is coming up in a few days' time, and it is how to bank 100 grand or more in the next 3 to 6 months? So give me a yes in the comments if you'd love to learn step by step from someone who did this, what, 15 years ago. Would you like to learn how to bank 100 grand or more in the next 3 to 6 months? Give me a yes in the comments if you'd like to learn how to do this, um, because I'm actually doing this special cash flow series at the moment. I've never done this before. 3 Zooms each Sunday on your first 10 grand, 10 grand in the next 30 days, 100 grand, and then the race to 100 grand. So, um, actually, I'll tell you what, I'll give you a direct link. So the link is tiny.cc/100grand, and it's, um, the, the numbers 1-0-0 and then spell grand. So it's tiny.cc/100grand. 100 grand. So if you'd like to not just make 100 grand one day but race to it, if you'd like to not just make 10 grand in one month but race to it in the next 30 days, you need to join this Zoom that I'm doing. It's a 3-part series starting in about 3 days' time. All the details of what you're going to learn are on the link tiny.cc/100grand, which is 100 grand. And I help you move out of your own way, move away the jealousy and envy, move away the fears, move away the distractions. I'm actually writing this systems document over this series. So there's about 10 pages of systems on how to make 10 grand in the next 30 days. That already exists, I did that Zoom last week. And then I'm adding another maybe 5 to 10 pages on the systems, the processes, the step-by-step weekly actions for you to bank £100,000 in the next 3 to 6 months. And I'm going to give completely free access to that to you as a bonus when you join the Zoom in a few days' time. All you have to do is register on the link tiny.cc/100grand, as in 100 grand. I've just shared with you my biggest financial mistake. You know, a lot of these American influencers, they popularize you know, failing 9 businesses or going bust 3 or 4 times, and then they finally succeeded. Well, I didn't do any of that, and I'm actually really pleased and proud. I didn't go down with anyone's money, and, you know, I wasn't sued, and, you know, I didn't have to, um, not pay creditors and lenders. I'm proud of that. But my mistake was different, and it was my own emotions and jealousy and envy of rich people. But when I really analyzed it and did a lot of therapy and paid for a lot of personal development courses When I actually analyzed it, envy was just desire. Like, think, you have no envy for someone who's got what you don't want. Like, think about it. That person's, you know, maybe spiritually very happy, or, um, they've got something. And, you know, I'm not really that interested in the spiritual world. So, um, if they've got something you don't want, there's no envy. If they've got something you do want, there's envy, which means envy is desire. But the ego turns it, makes you feel insecure, and turns it into a repulsion. Whereas if you can move the ego and turn the repulsion into propulsion and the envy into desire, then you can change everything. And anytime I see a rich person now, I don't judge. I transcend judgment. What do they know? How can I learn from them? How could I partner with them? How can we have for lunch? What can we teach each other? How can we go into business? And I'm very grateful that I managed to get that out of my way age 26 years and 11 months. Because it was keeping me broke. It's funny because I built up 50 grand's worth of debt, but then like within a year I paid all that off and made nearly my first 100. So in my first year I paid off 50 grand's worth of debt and banked nearly 100. And that's what— and I did this 18 years ago. This is why I'm qualified to teach you to bank 100 grand in the next 3 to 6 months. And I'm writing an ongoing systems operations document step by step to help you do this and have some ongoing support and action and accountability. So all you need to do is go to tiny.cc/100grand, that's 100 grand, and you can gain access to this. This will be a live training, it will be me running it. I have got 2 or 3 special bonuses that I'm gonna be sharing on that, and I will give you access to this operational document to take you step by step. And by the way, anyone can do this, even if you have no money, even if you've never made that in the last, 10 years, because what I'll teach is available to the masses and not just the rich. Thanks for tuning in. Maybe you want to share in the comments any of your financial mistakes. I think, you know, it's better to stand on the shoulders of giants, leverage the traits of the greats, and learn from the mistakes of other people. Don't learn from your own mistakes, learn from the mistakes of others. Thanks for tuning in, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
