Never Lend Money to These 3 People ⛔️

In this video Rob Moore warns viewers against lending money to three categories of people: desperate individuals, friends and family, and anyone with a poor financial history. He explains that desperation drives emotionally‑charged, ill‑ogical decisions, that mixing money with personal relationships can damage bonds, and that past credit problems predict future defaults. Moore outlines practical safeguards such as only using "risk capital" (money you can afford to lose), demanding a first‑charge security, and avoiding reliance on personal guarantees or second‑charge arrangements. He contrasts lending with self‑investment, urging viewers to put money into their own assets, education, property, personal brand, or decentralized assets like Bitcoin. Throughout, he promotes his membership platform rob.team, describing its low‑cost, no‑contract structure, the range of courses (financial education, business building, tax reduction, investing, social‑media monetisation), and the community of thousands of members. The video mixes instructional advice, personal anecdotes, and repeated calls‑to‑action to join the platform.

Warning: never lend money to these 3 people. Your money is often hard to come by. There's a lot of tax taken off your money before you get it. Inflation, soaring increase in prices of food and fuel and energy, and you name it, there's an attack on your money. Quantitative easing, government reducing your spending power, the list goes on. So please take this fair warning. I've had 16 years' experience of lending and borrowing money and, you know, building businesses. I'm a bit of a softie and I've learned the hard way. So never lend money to these 3 people. So the first one, sorry to say this, and this is probably going to upset a few people, but never lend money to desperate people. Um, desperate people will go to any lengths to avoid whatever is causing them desperation. And even though you might think you're doing something kind, desperate people don't make wise financial decisions usually, and that is because they're emotionally charged. When you're desperate and in pain, you're emotionally charged. And then when you're emotionally charged, that overrides your logic, and therefore, um, you make really bad decisions usually when you're emotionally charged around money. You know, I always say, if you want to master your money, master your emotions. And making, managing, and mastering money through the mastery of your emotions is not taught in school, and it absolutely should be. Now look, if you're a generous, kind, warm person and you want to help a desperate person out, give them a little bit of money that you can afford, uh, to lose or let go. And then, you know, you're not going to be upset and they're not going to be in an awkward position. You know, I have the Rob Moore Foundation and I do give donations of up to tens of thousands of pounds to people who are really struggling and vulnerable and have had really hard stuff happen to them. And it's just great because I can give it willingly. If it was a loan, that would change the game completely. So never lend your money to desperate people. The second type of person you shouldn't lend money to— again, but a lot of people aren't going to like this— you probably should not lend money to friends and family. Because here's the thing: blood is thicker than water, as they say, and, you know, money often can divide and break up relationships with your friends and family and loved ones. Again, if you want to be generous, give them the money and just let it go. Although don't be giving money away that you can't afford to give away. You know, there's something called risk capital, and risk capital is money you can afford to risk, money you can afford to lose. And really, you should only be lending or giving or donating money you can afford to lose, which is called risk capital. So cryptos and new asset classes you're not, you know, experienced in, use risk capital only. Mike has said here he agrees because he's lost thousands of pounds helping people and being scammed by people. So yeah, unfortunately, Mike and everyone else, we often learn the hard way, don't we? So if we have rules that override our emotions Never give. For example, I don't give money to ungrateful bastards. It's just a rule. I don't lend money to friends and family. I give risk capital to friends and family. I don't lend to desperate people, um, because emotions will make you make bad money decisions. Now someone has said, what's your advice on business loans? Maybe I'll come back to actual loans, um, but I'm talking about you and your money, not borrowing money. It's different when you're borrowing money because obviously You want to borrow the money. So might you borrow from friends and family? Yeah. Now you've just got to be committed and do everything you can to pay that money back, because your reputation when it comes to money is about borrowing and paying back. And, you know, your credit improves when you borrow and pay back. And if you borrow and don't pay back, your money reputation is ruined and you probably won't get any more. Okay, now the third type of person you should never lend money to is anyone with a bad history around money. So bad credit, they've gone bust, uh, the credit score is really low, or lending money without any security. So sometimes you can want to help people, or, you know, sometimes it looks like there's something that's worth lending or investing in, but the person behind it's got bad financial history. Usually, not always, but usually the past, um, is a metric and evidence of what's going to happen in the future. They've lost money before, they're probably going to lose money again. They've gone bust before, they're probably going to go bust again. Um, and if they've just negated on paying back money, they're probably going to do that again. So if they've got— make sure you do good credit checks. By the way, a lot of people think, oh yeah, I've got guarantees because I've got a personal guarantee. Well, in some ways that's fine, but if that person has, um, history of negating on loans, the personal guarantee doesn't actually mean anything. You want first charge. I know a lot of people who get second charges or restrictions. No, you want first charge. So let me know what you think about this in the comments, because I know loads of people have lost money. They're maybe a bit soft and kind, uh, and therefore can get screwed or, um, turned over. Some of you have said in this, um, video you've been scammed by your family, scammed by your children there from Tricia. And some of you clearly are very generous, and that has actually, um, come back to bite you because you've, um, not maybe not got security, not got first charge, not done your diligence, lent to people of bad credit, lent to desperate people, lent to friends and family, and everything's gone to shit. So if you follow these rules around money, you won't lose money and you won't lose relationships. And there's plenty of places you can put your money Like, you can invest in your own assets. You can invest in property and real estate. You can build your personal brand. You know, you can invest in growing your social media following, and you can invest in, um, your own decentralized— like Bitcoin or, um, some other well-proven digital currency. Most of them not, by the way, just warning you. Um, do, um, build, start, and scale a business. Um, generate leads through marketing. So really, if you've got money, invest it in yourself. You know, why invest it in others when you could probably get your best return on investment? You are your best asset, and you're not going to screw yourself, and you're not going to miss payments on yourself. You're not going to need a first charge on yourself. You're not going to be desperate on yourself. Okay, so look, The reason I do a lot of these lives, I want to protect people from losing money and being scammed. But you know, we've got to be honest and look at ourselves. Sometimes if we're scammed, it's because we didn't do enough diligence and research. So type rob.team into any web browser on the internet. Do it now, and let's have another chat about who not to lend your money to. So, you know, I have a lot of property investors that follow me, and I always wonder why they lend their money out when they could actually invest themselves. So I actually think you are your best asset. Invest in yourself wisely because you pay yourself the best return. I really believe that. So if you've got money to invest, think about investing it in yourself before you go and lend it to ungrateful people or desperate people or friends and family or people who've got bad history with money. Why wouldn't you invest in your education? Why wouldn't you invest in your own assets? Why wouldn't you buy your own real estate? Why wouldn't you invest in your own personal brand? So I always find it strange when people are giving other people money all the time. Now, often that happens because they don't believe in themselves or they don't know how to invest. So learn how to invest. Rob.team will teach you how to invest. There is a 9-module, 10-hour course on Rob.team, uh, and actually my business partner Mark Homer, who's one of the best entrepreneur investors in the entire country, We spent, what, 10 hours going through real estate, cryptocurrencies, cars, watches, um, art— well, classic vintage cars mainly— businesses, being an entrepreneur, digital assets. And we taught 10 hours of how to invest, how to teach yourself how to invest, how to get the risk down, how to diversify without being spread too thin, how to protect your investment, how to build multiple streams of recurring income. So again, you can get that course completely for free once you're a member of rob.team. Costs you less than a large coffee, one-third of the price of Netflix, and you can cancel any time. So learn to earn, invest in yourself because you are the best asset. And yeah, exactly, someone's just written rob.team. That's the link. Just type r-o-b dot t-e-a-m into any web browser, open a new page now, type r-o-b dot t-e-a-m. A, M. Now, um, in America I find this strange, but in America a lot of people will lend money to people who've been busted once or twice. And whilst if you've been busted once or twice, it probably proves that you're prepared to take a risk, um, I personally wouldn't invest in it, invest in anyone that had gone bust and taken a load of people's money down unless a load of their money down went down with it and they had an amazing idea and I got security on my money. So never lend money to people when you haven't got security on your money. Now I know in the startup world it is a bit more risky, and I guess if I was a professional startup investor and I've been doing it for 20 years on Dragon's Den, I'd probably have some good protection in the contract. I'd probably, you know, have some rules. But as, you know, many of us are sort of amateur moneylenders, because really the only professional moneylenders are the banks or, you know, the actual proper dragons. But an amateur moneylender like you, I don't think you want bad history and track record. So if they've gone bust, I probably wouldn't invest in them. If they've got bad credit, I probably wouldn't invest in them. If they've missed mortgage payments or big payments, I would not invest in them. And I would not lend any money without first charge. People say, I've got personal guarantee. Well, that's all right if they're really rich, but most people aren't. People say, I've got second charge or restriction. That the first charge lender trumps all of those, so you probably won't get your money. Someone has said Rob Tim. No, let me spell out again. So, uh, Rob.team, T-E-A-M, as in team, teamwork. And that's the name of my online members area, my premium platform. It only costs a large coffee to join. There's no contract. It, you, it is a monthly thing, but there's no contract. You can cancel anytime. And there you can learn, earn, and invest You can make, manage, and master money. You name it, there are weekly masterclass, Zoom online courses. There's even live events through the year. There's even financial challenges through the year— the Make Cash Challenge, the 10 Extra Social Media Following Challenge. There's WhatsApp groups where we all, um, sort of connect and do business with each other. And to join, it's really easy. Shayna said, who cares? Is money— you— who cares? Money is money. You could die tomorrow. Yeah, or you could live till you're 100, Shane, and be broke for the next 60 years. So actually, I think making, managing, and mastering money is akin to making, managing, and mastering your life. Because with financial freedom, you have time freedom, you have travel freedom, you have location freedom, you have work freedom, you have all freedom. So actually, anyone who says, oh, money doesn't matter, I think you're playing wrong. I really do. Unless you just, um, you know, want to live with no security, live with no independence, and live with no choice. Because a lot of people, they can't even afford to pay their electricity bills and pay their food and heating, their fuel. They can't even afford it. How can you live a meaningful life, enjoying the full fruits of life, without money? Now, money isn't everything, but money makes everything better. Colin has said money loss can be personal trauma from your past. Exactly right, Colin. So you could have a need to please people because maybe you've had authority issues, and therefore you just give and lend out money too freely to get people's, um, you know, love and respect. And that's certainly true. You could not believe in yourself, therefore you invest in everyone else and everything else because you don't believe in yourself because you've got low self-worth. I always believe if you increase your self-worth, you increase your net worth. So Colin, you make some really good points there. I think that's maybe why people give their money to others and lend and donate and just gift, naively thinking and hoping and praying that they'll make a return. Because one, also they can blame others. You see, the thing is, if you take a risk with your own money and you fail, you're responsible. Whereas if you lend or invest it out somewhere else, you can always blame them and it's never your fault. Hmm. So never lend money to desperate people. And look, this is not a human judgment. You know, we all have trauma and issues, and, you know, we all at times are a little bit desperate. But for the safety and protection of your own money, don't, um, lend money to desperate people because they're emotionally charged. And the more emotionally charged you are, the less logical you are. That's therefore the worst financial decisions you'll make. You and I and all of us have made our worst money decisions when we've been triggered emotionally. Elated and depressed, we make our worst financial decisions then. So don't lend money to desperate people. If you want to give because you're generous, only give money you can afford to lose. I call that risk capital, and expect to never get it back. And then if you do, it's a nice bonus. Also, the second, don't lend money to friends and family, because if you have to reclaim that back, you're gonna have to try and wipe them out. You're gonna have to take a personal guarantee or a first charge. And I just think it's really, really a risk. Again, if you want to be generous, give them money you can afford to lose, but keep friends and family as friends and family, and do your investments and your lending elsewhere. And then lastly, anyone with bad credit or a bad history around money and without any kind of security or first charge, do not lend your freaking money. Don't. You don't need to. Deborah said, what about family who cannot pay bills? Well, I believe teaching is better than giving. So, um, you know, they say teach a man to fish or give a man a fish. So I believe actually if you give them education, that is more valuable than money because they'll be reliant on the money. But if you give them education, then they could be self-reliant. That's my thoughts. Now look, if you want to help people out I help people out regularly and I give money here, there, and everywhere. And part of that is to feel good about me doing good things with my money and in this world. And it's also to help people, but I don't ask for that back. I don't expect that back. It's just, you know, but a lot of people are doing that with money they can't afford because, like someone said in the comments, you know, maybe they've got trauma or self-worth issues. So sort out your trauma and self-worth issues and you'll sort out your net worth issues. Absolutely true. And a lot of people who follow me, they're in property and real estate. So, um, don't go and lend your money out when you've not bought properties for yourself. Go and invest locally in properties yourself. You'll always do a better job than anyone else. You care about your money better than anyone else cares about your money. If you invest into something, you will do everything to make that work. If, um, someone else just takes your money, if it doesn't work out, they'll just fuck you off. That is unfortunately just the reality. No one cares about your money as much as you. So I hope you found this useful. Don't lend to desperate people, don't lend to friends and family, don't lend to people with bad credit and history around money, and never lend without security, especially anything other really than a first charge. And by the way, don't give money away that you can't afford to give away. You know, don't give money to friends and family unless you're prepared to just completely write it off and you're just doing a nice, kind, and generous thing. So let me know what you think about that in the comments. Have you got any questions? Do you agree or disagree with anything? Did I miss anything that you think should be there? And finally, just make sure now you go and join Rob.team. Rob.team is a financial resource that teaches you about money, the stuff you didn't get taught in schools but you should have done.
