Piers Morgan (Un) Cancelled (Finally!)

Piers Morgan was fired from ITV in 2021 after calling Meghan Markle "Princess Pinocchio." The speaker argues this violated free speech and praises Morgan's new show as a victory against cancel culture, defending the right to platform controversial figures like Joe Rogan and Elon Musk.

Last year, Piers Morgan was canceled, censored from ITV. I believe this was fundamentally wrong. I'm ashamed I didn't speak up about it at the time. I spoke up about the canceling, the mainstream media attack on Joe Rogan, and I should have spoken out about Piers Morgan, but I didn't. And now finally, Piers Morgan is uncanceled and uncensored as he launches his new show, Piers Morgan Uncensored. I think this is great for media, social media, mainstream media, um, push against Big Tech, push against canceling, push against deplatforming and censorship. I think it's great. Now here's the challenge. Many people don't like Piers Morgan, and true integrity of you, of me, and of pure free speech is to defend people's free speech even if we don't like them and agree with them. Now I don't know Piers Morgan. I actually admire his bravery, his brashness, his directness, his unashamedness, his authenticity of self. I admire that in him. And of course, he says some things that are close to the line that people don't like. That is no reason at all to cancel Piers Morgan or Joe Rogan or anyone, anyone. And now Piers Morgan Uncensored, his new show, is about to go live. Exactly. If you don't like Piers Morgan or Joe Rogan or anyone else, don't watch them, don't listen to them, but do not try and cancel them, ban them, deplatform them. This is wrong. Now here's the thing. We will all fight for our own free speech, and we will all fight for the free speech of the people we respect, admire, and love. But true authenticity and integrity of you is to fight for everyone's free speech. Russia's free speech. Joe Rogan's free speech. Piers Morgan's free speech. Whether you like them or not. Now, there is a line on free speech. I actually don't believe we should all have full free speech. I don't have the right to abuse you. I don't have the right to troll you, to defame you, or to incite hate or violence against you. I do not have that right, and I should be held accountable. So should anyone who does that. And of course we need our legal system and the government to help protect us. But anything below that line, you can say and I can say, even if I don't agree with it, even if it criticizes me. Now, Piers Morgan was banned a year ago, censored and canceled from ITV Good Morning Britain, because he said that he thought that Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah was full of lies and he called her Princess Pinocchio. Well, he might have been right. That Oprah interview was so one-sided, so one-sided, and she got away with saying or intimating a lot of things that were very damaging, and she should be held to account, and Oprah should be held to account. And Piers Morgan just said it how he thought it was. It was full of lies. And then Meghan Markle writes to ITV. Meghan Markle puts pressure on ITV to cancel Piers Morgan. Piers Morgan gets cancelled. How is that in any way right in the pursuit of free speech? Look at it on the other side. Elon Musk, who gave Starlink internet to Ukraine, then was approached by, um, world national government officials. Countries were approaching Elon Musk basically asking him to censor information to Russia, and he said, no, I will not do it because I am a free speech absolutist. And I believe we should all be free speech absolutists. If we bend over to being canceled, deplatformed, banned, shadowbanned, restricted, overly policed— if we bend over to that, mainstream media will control us even more. Big Tech will control us even more. But the most powerful way that we can all stand against censorship and cancel culture is not just to stand up for ourselves and not just to stand up for the people we support, but to stand up for everyone. To stand up for Russia's right to free speech. To stand up to Piers Morgan and Joe Rogan's right for free speech. Honestly, if we do not stand up speak out and push back, none of us are going to be able to say anything without getting banned, shadowbanned, cancelled, or deplatformed. And this is wrong, and the world needs to change. Mainstream media is dying, and a billionaire said to me, fear screams loudest when it's dying. And now Piers Morgan is launching Uncensored, his new talk show. I'm sure it will smash all the ratings from ITV. So ITV is dying, mainstream media is dying. So what are they going to do? They're going to try and cancel everyone. Joe Rogan, Piers Morgan, anyone else who's decentralized and is a creator and influencer not under mainstream media control, they're going to try and ban them, cancel them, and deplatform them. And it's fucking wrong. And you should stand up for it and for them. Many people don't agree with Joe Rogan. They should have stood up for his ability to have free speech. People, um, you know, are criticizing Elon Musk, but Elon Musk, he did not allow nations to intervene to cancel and de— what would be the word? He allowed free speech through Russia when he had the ability through Starlink to restrict information flow through Russia. And I thought that was a brave but smart move. He's trying to buy Twitter and he wants to turn it into a pure free speech platform. We need free speech platforms. We need free speech social media. We need decentralization of information. Too few people control too much information. Big— the Big Tech 4 companies control virtually all information flow. Mainstream media, they control nearly all information flow, and we must, we must stand up for this. Someone has said here I'm full of hate. No, I'm full of love. I'm not full of hate. This isn't hate. You should stand up for what you believe. This is love. Love for your freedom of speech. Love for you being able to say what you feel to be true and to be truly authentic and not fear being canceled or deplatformed or shadow banned. This is not hate, this is love. But here's the thing, you must stand up, you must speak out. Let me tell you what's going on. So Piers Morgan was canceled from ITV's Good Morning Britain. Apparently had a record number of complaints, 58,000 complaints, when he called out Meghan saying that she was full of lies on Oprah, and he called her Princess Pinocchio. And he may have been right. And I just did a recent video on Meghan Markle who I think— I'll let you watch that video. I won't say anything more about that. Now a year later, Piers Morgan is launching his own show called Piers Morgan Uncensored. He criticized ITV for censoring him and he said it was all a bit dramatic. But ahead of his new show, Piers Morgan has said, I used to think I was uncensored. And then of course when I left Good Morning Britain, it turned out that I actually was being censored. In the sense that I was told I had to apologize for disbelieving Princess Pinocchio or I'd have to leave the building. He was given an ultimatum to apologize to someone he perceived was lying. And he said, so I took the leave the building option, which I thought was a sad moment for me and for the show. I thought it was the wrong call by ITV. It was a bit dramatic. But of course what it really did was focus everyone's mind to What is free speech? And I would say to you, what is free speech? Someone has said here Piers Morgan is a knobhead. Does that mean he should be cancelled or deplatformed or censored? No, it doesn't. You have to really ask yourself, what is true authenticity? Authenticity is standing up for free speech even if you don't agree with it. Please hit the share button. We must stand up against deplatforming and cancel culture and shadow banning and censorship. It is going on everywhere. Okay, so what Piers Morgan has said is his new TV show is going to un-cancel those who have been cancelled. He said, I thought the whole thing was a farce, and I'm actually delighted as a result of the farce that we have ended up with a whole new network which is now dedicated to preventing that kind of farce from reoccurring. Piers Morgan is out to un-cancel those who have been cancelled. I think this is a great thing. I'm going to be watching it with interest. Please let me know what you think in the comments. Please hit the share button because each time we have an opportunity to stand up for free speech, to support those who've been canceled, to un-cancel the canceled, and to support the people who are free speech purists, we can all make a difference together. So thanks for tuning in. Hit the share button. If you're just tuning in, Piers Morgan a year ago got cancelled by ITV because he called Meghan Markle a liar. ITV said to him, apologise to Meghan Markle or you will have to leave the show. He chose to leave the show. He thought it was a farce but that it focused our mind on what free speech really is. And now he's launching a show called Piers Morgan Uncensored where he will uncancel those who've been cancelled. Cancelled. I think this is really, really, really good. He said— he has said that we know where the line is. You can have a vigorous debate with somebody, vehemently disagree, be severely critical. You can call me all sorts of things, and that is fine. But the moment you try and get me fired, as Meghan Markle did on Good Morning Britain, where she personally writes to the boss of ITV and demands my head on a plate, that is cancel culture right there. I completely agree with that. And the idea that ITV rolled over to it is ridiculous. But that's why I'm here, and I feel in a way grateful to them because I think it's very exciting for my new platform and my new opportunity called, um, Piers Morgan Uncensored to uncancel those who've been canceled. And I support these kind of moves. Let me know what you think in the comments, hit the share button, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
