Rental Increases Banned 🤬 WTAF!

Rob Moore argues Scotland's rental increase ban unfairly targets landlords instead of addressing root causes like rising energy bills and government housing failures. He claims private landlords are essential to solving the housing shortage and that market forces, not landlords, set rent prices.

Rental increases have just been banned, and I believe this to be a huge scandal and an absolute disgrace. Now, Nicola Sturgeon in Scotland, breaking news, has just announced that all rental increases will be banned and all evictions will be banned under the guise of addressing the cost of living crisis. But they have just made every single landlord their enemy, and it's not as if the landlords put the nation in this state in the first place. Now, Liz Truss, uh, has been, um, called to a meeting by Nicola Sturgeon, and quite frankly If she wants to encourage England to have a rental increase ban, she can fuck off. This, in my humble opinion, is socialism turned communism at its finest. I just cannot fathom it. If you feel I'm missing something, please let me know in the comments. Jamie has just said a cap on rents are needed, but this is passing the fault and the blame and the, um, the difficulty and the squeeze onto the landlords. But it's the landlords that house the tenants. So look, apparently Nicola Sturgeon has said we are in a cost of living humanitarian emergency. So her bright idea is to put all of the pain and the financial suffering onto the landlords who house many of the people. So let me ask you this though: did the landlords cause the cost of living crisis? Did the landlords put the material costs up nearly 50%? Did the landlords put the cost of property up significantly? Did the landlords put the interest rates up? Did the landlords whack the inflation rate up? Did the landlords put the energy cap rates up 400%? No, no, no, no, no. The governments did this. The government should pay, which by the way we end up fucking paying for anyway in the form of tax, tax, and more tax, and inflation and tax. This is disgraceful. How is a landlord going to be able to make profit? A landlord will probably go into a loss. Who's gonna house those millions of people if the landlords aren't? Why do they make landlords the enemy? Now look, I'm biased, I'm a landlord, but still, my energy has just gone up £400,000 a year. So I do all-in rent and bills on some of my properties, some of my apartments, And my bills have already gone up 400%, and now Sturgeon's weavering away, hey Liz Truss, you're just in, why don't you cap rents? No! Now, um, someone just said here the landlords are part of the reason. How are the landlords part of the reason? The landlords house the freaking tenants. Where would the tenants live if it weren't for the landlords? Let me ask you this, are the government housing all the tenants? Are the governments sorting the housing shortage out? No, it's the landlords that are sorting the housing shortage out. Who pays for it when the house is trashed? The landlord. And then if you've got a tenant that's not paying you, but it's illegal to evict them, so, ah, the tenant's not paying any bills, so you pay all your mortgage and you pay your expenses and it's illegal to evict them. It's freaking crazy. Now Sam has said here the landlords aren't short, the tenants are. The landlords are short too, Sam. Like, many landlords charge bills all included, and their bills have just gone up 400%. Now look, I've got sympathy for the tenants, and often, unfortunately, it's the end user, the tenant, that ends up suffering for the mismanagement in government. But this isn't— they've just made the landlord the enemy. The landlord is the, the person, the people who are sorting the housing crisis out, not the freaking government. This is communism. It is ridiculous. How can you put a rent freeze, a rent cap freeze, and ban evictions? You need to sort the problem out. You are the government. You are supposed to govern. The landlord isn't supposed to govern. The landlord is supposed to provide good quality housing and should make a fair profit for that. Anyway, look, I'd love your thoughts on this. Um, Jason says you're a bit out on the ordinary person. I agree with all of your videos but this one. That's fine, Jason, we're not all going to agree on everything. I invite all of you to share your opinion. I'll have them all in my comments. I don't ban or block anyone. I engage with you. So by all means, um, share your comments. And to be honest, um, I'm not trying to be right for the ordinary person. I'm trying to be right for the sake of being right. What's right is right, and what's wrong is wrong. And it is wrong for the government to pass their costs and their responsibilities onto a landlord. And by the way, It's also wrong for the tenants to suffer as well. It is, yes. But if they want to help the tenant, they should cover the rent increase raises. That's what they should do. Because imagine you're a landlord, you're doing good things in the world, you're paying lots of taxes, you're housing people, you've got mortgages, you've got interest to pay, you've got expenses, you've got material costs, you've got all of this, you take all this risk, You've got insurances, you've got maintenance, you've got gas and boiler safety checks, you've got all the legal issues that you have to do. You have to cover all of this and you hope to make a little bit of money, a little bit. And your government fucking ruined the country. They lock us down when they shouldn't. They don't control inflation properly. They're now going to bang interest rates up. They bang up the energy cap, raise 100%, 200%, 300%, 400%. And then instead of them taking responsibility, they They just pass it on to the freaking landlord. Sturgeon, oi, no, do not talk to Liz Truss. Do not try and encourage her to put freaking rental increase bans on landlords and banning evictions. Evictions are there to get bad tenants out of properties, and they should stay there. It's a fucking disgrace. It's communism. And you can piss off if you're doing it in this country. It's an absolute joke. So Ollie has said here, lower taxes for landlords and increase investment into property. Michael has said, I thought the tenants had to pay their own energy. Um, no, a lot of my portfolio, we pay bills included. Uh, where's the support from the government for the 400% increase in energy. And by the way, the landlord suffers and the tenant suffers. So I'm not just doing this because I'm a landlord— I am a landlord— I'm doing this because it's wrong. It's just plain wrong. Yeah, yes, yes, yes. Look, I want to help, and, um, clearly the government ain't listening to me, um, but If you write the word yes in the comments, I'm going to give you a financial toolkit, um, to help you not just survive but thrive through these challenging times. Um, I am appalled by this decision that, um, rental increases have been banned in Scotland. And here's the thing, it would be easy for me not to worry about it because I'm in England, not Scotland, but it could happen in other countries. They could see that as a way to absolve the responsibility of the crisis onto the landlords. So here's what the government do. Oh, 'Let's attack the landlords.' By the way, the government have been attacking the landlords for 10 years, taking away all their fair tax breaks and making it really hard to make any money as a landlord. A landlord is solving the government's problem because we have a massive housing shortage in the UK. We have a massive housing crisis. Look at all the people on the streets. Look at all the homeless people. And it is the government's responsibility to govern and to pay for this. So if you're a private landlord and you can make a bit of money, you're actually helping the government solve the government's fucking problem. And that's what landlords do. And landlords get a bad rub by a lot of people. But if you take away their tax breaks, if you take away their ability to make profit, if you cap their rents and you ban evictions, they will not be able to make money. And then the housing problem will be back on you, and the billions will just bounce back to the government. And then the government will bounce those billions back to us in tax. Can you not see this? Even if you don't really like landlords, even if you're a tenant yourself, can you not see this? It is a war on landlords, Robert, you're fucking right. A lot of you are writing yes. I'm going to give you a financial toolkit in the comments. So if you write yes, I've got what, 21+ ways to save half your salary in costs. I've got some workshop video material, courses to help you create assets. Build Income, and I'll give you weekly resources. I've just interviewed a billionaire. I'll give you some billionaire interviews. I'll give you some hardcore money-saving strategies and some money-making side hustle ideas too. You need this right now. The government has waged a war on you, by the way. You think it's just landlords? So just type yes in the comments if you'd like access to that financial toolkit, all those resources from me. I'm going to do that as a gift to you because The government aren't fucking supporting you. Like, those of you, like, those of you disagree with me here and think that there should be a rent cap, um, I don't mind there being a rent cap, uh, in that anything that the rents go up by, why don't the government cover it? That's fine, do that. Government, cover the increase in rents because you've forced the landlords to increase the rents. Do you know we haven't increased many of our rents for years? Years. Haven't wanted to necessarily. I mean, you'd like to, but haven't wanted to, haven't needed to. And now they've got— rents have gone like that, pretty slow. Now they're like bang, bang, bang, bang. And so what's Sturgeon's solution? Ah, well, we'll cap and ban rent rises. So now the landlords are going to get a massive shock. They're going to lose their margin. Then there's going to be all sorts of people selling up their properties. Then there's going to be a bigger housing crisis, and then the government are going to have to sort that out, and then the government are going to tax us to pay for it. They don't know what they're fucking doing. They really don't know what they're doing. I mean, as you can see, I'm speechless. So put yes in the comments if you'd like a financial toolkit from me. I'll do my best to help you. Landlordism is lots of income for very little work. Richard, you're clearly not a landlord, mate. Landlordism is not a lot of income for very little work. You take your mortgage, you take your risk, you've got to refurb the property, you've got to manage it, maintain it, you've got the gas and boiler safety checks, you've got to have all the insurances, you have to pay for all the boards, you have to pay for all the voids, you have to pay for all the refurbs. The interest rates are going up, you've got to take the hit on any interest rate rises. You've got, um, if you pay bills included, if you have your tenants' bills included, you've got to pay for all the rental caps, you got tenants who don't look after your properties properly, you've got to do inventories in and out. I mean, what the fuck are you talking about, mate? What are you talking about? Landlordism is lots of income for very little work. Mate, you are on crack cocaine. Can you see what you're saying? Have you ever been a landlord? Oh my God, like, why did the state make landlords the enemy? I don't understand it. It's wrong. Landlords are helping the fucking housing crisis. Like, the government are not building anywhere near enough houses. So when landlords develop properties and take the risk and, you know, for example, take an old commercial property— who's doing up all the town centres? The landlords. The landlords buy the commercial properties, they do up the ground floor, and then they develop the flats on the top floor, and they take the ugly, dilapidated, empty old retail units which are popping up all over the town businesses now, and they turn them around and they make them look nice. And then the government just have a freaking war against them. It is ridiculous. It is a scandal. Do not stand for this. I do not support rental increase bans. Fucking hell, it's crazy. So, and oh, and by the way, yes, the tenants get hurt too. Let me know what you think. By the way, hit share the fuck out of this, like hit that share button. I spat my tacos out. I was having pulled pork tacos. I was enjoying them. I don't normally have pulled pork tacos. And when I read this, I fucking spat them out all over the table. Who is this woman? What is she doing? I did spit my tacos out all over the table. Yeah, but see, even my son's gobsmacked. Love your thoughts in the comments. So the cost to buy property has gone up significantly. Um, Deborah said there's lots of greedy landlords. Maybe there are some greedy landlords. There are also some tenants who game the system, never pay any rent, trash your property, and, you know, have landlords lose thousands of pounds. So there probably is some slum landlords and there probably is some slum tenants, of course. I, I could not deny that. But on the whole, if you think that most tenants are reasonable, then surely most landlords are reasonable. Remember, landlords take the risk here. Why does everyone want to make landlords the enemy? Landlord buys the dilapidated property— there's no guarantee that's going to make any money. They've got to pay 30, 40, 50% more for the material costs and the trades. Then they've got to get the mortgages and the finance. They're responsible for the insurance and the legalities and the safety checks, you know, like a gas and boiler safety check, and you've got to be compliant. They have to pay for all the voids. They pay their fair share of taxes. They're sorting out the housing crisis because the government should have sorted it out. I think it was Kate Barker, the Barker Report, did a report, massive housing shortage, government done nothing about it. If the government are smart, they go and give landlords some incentives and some breaks and some subsidies so that they can then— because who's bringing the high street back into good order? Landlords. So Daniel has said, good, about time we had rent control. Too long have rogue landlords gotten away with charging over the top. No rents are over the top charged, Daniel, because rents are market rate. 'Cause if you put a rent up too high, you have a void and you don't get your property rented out. So this is just nonsense. You've just been reading too much fucking communism. I don't know what you've been reading, Daniel, but it's not true. Now, of course there are some scum landlords, and of course there are some slum tenants. Of course there are, naturally, but it's very few actually. But a landlord can't overcharge 'cause someone just doesn't rent. And if there's a cheaper property to rent, then the tenant just rents the cheaper property. So that's just nonsense because it's regulated by the market. Anyway, let me know what you think in the comments. As you can see, I'm fucking pissed. I'm fucking pissed because it's fucking wrong. I'll tell you why I'm fucking pissed. Um, I'm pissed not because I'm a landlord, because actually I'll be all right. Because I'm all right, because I've been doing this for 16 years, and I've got, you know, I've had a £400,000 increase in my bills, but I've got the money to figure it out. But most people haven't. And Steve has said landlords paying tax and helping people out. Well, I don't know where I said helping people out, but yeah, landlords pay tax. Yeah, they do. Everyone's paying tax. VAT, 20%. Corp tax, 19%, going up to 28%. Income tax, 38%. Pension contributions, could call that a tax if you're the employer, could. National Insurance, what's that? Approaching double digits. Inflation is a form of tax. Yeah, so yes, they're paying tax. Council tax is like a fucking load of taxes. Yeah, exactly, Guy. Landlords are needed because the government sold off all the housing and they're not sorting out the housing crisis. Why this massive attack on landlords? Yeah, Gary said high streets are finished. Who's, um, are the local councils sorting out the high street? No, no, they're not. Yeah, I can afford it, which is why it's even more credible coming from me, Sarah, because it'd be all right for me to just keep— I'm speaking for everybody. I'm speaking for what is right and what is wrong. And fundamentally, forget landlords, forget tenants, which some of you this has become about. Should the government sort their own problems out, or should the governments make the people pay? The government should sort their own problems out. Anyway, if you type yes in the comments, I'm going to give you some help financially, because let's be honest, the world needs it right now. I've got a financial toolkit where I've got 21 ways to save half your salary in costs. I've got workshop video recording courses for you to build your assets and, um, Just do your best to create multiple streams of income and protect yourself, basically. So if you type yes in the comments, I'm going to give you access to that. If you are pissed, then you are drunk. Pissed also means angry, Robert. Yeah, yeah, um, yeah, maybe I have picked up a bit of an Americanism being on social media. Anyway, um, quick summary then. Um, Nicola Sturgeon in Scotland has put a rental increase ban and a tenant eviction ban That's her wisdom in order to try and sort out the cost of living crisis, except I just think that's going to put all the stress on the landlords. Certainly, um, many countries look like they're more of a socialist communist regime than actually a capitalist regime. For me, this is a— this is basically communism, um, and I think it's a disgraceful move because it's making someone else the responsible and suffer for the mistakes you made. So, um, let me ask you this. I've listed out some of them here. Even though it looks like I just rant the fuck, I do actually prepare my content. Um, so did the landlords put up the material costs by up to 30-50%? No, that was Brexit and that was the lockdown. Uh, and who did that? The government. Okay, um, the cost to buy property now, which is super high, aren't they? Um, and by the way, a lot of first-time buyers can't afford to get on the ladder, so they're able to rent because a landlord takes the risk to buy the expensive property because property is very expensive. So, um, did the landlords cause the big increase in prices? No. Did the landlords put the interest rates up? No. Did the landlord put inflation at double-double digits? No. Did the inflation have a 1, 2, 3, 400% energy cap raise? No. So why the landlord's suffering and why the landlord's getting, um, you know, all the rap for this? It's ridiculous. Let me know what you think in the comments. And just quickly, finally, um, I'm putting my head out. As you can see here, I am making some statements which are probably going to be unpopular by the people who control the world. Apparently this is all part of the plan according to some of you in the comments. What do you mean by that? Let me know what you mean in the comments by this is all part of the plan. Um, but I'm gonna just keep putting my head up out there, and I think I've got a reasonably good sense of what's right and wrong in the economy. Um, and I've been an entrepreneur now for nearly 20 years. I've got hundreds of properties, 1,100 tenants, by the way. I have 1,100 tenants. I also have a property management company which is pretty much the biggest in our city. I've got, um, you know, many companies and I have thousands of customers. And so I feel like I've got good experience on this, by the way, um, and I feel like I've got a reasonable sense of what's right and wrong in the economy. And what's wrong in the economy is where the government penalize the landlords for the cost of living crisis. What's wrong is where, for example, our new Prime Minister is voted in by a few hundred other ministers and we don't get to say who our new Prime Minister is. That's wrong. What's wrong is the energy cap is 400% higher than it was because the cap is there to protect the people. I mean, these are fucking common sense things, aren't they? But they're wrong. They're clearly wrong. So I think I'm more in touch with what normal people think is right and wrong than the government is. So look, um, if you'd like to have help with better financial education knowledge, if you'd like to make, manage, and master money, if you'd like to be able to invest in assets, protect yourself from this fucking crazy onslaught from the government— taxation, inflation, rental rise caps, bans, eviction bans, whatever else is going on, if you'd like to not just survive but thrive through this, then join Rob.team. Rob.team is my financial education platform. It costs you less than a large coffee. No one can accuse me of major profiteering when you can get hundreds of hours of better financial education and knowledge for less than one large cup of coffee at Costa. But I want to help you, and I want to do my bit to give back, and I want to do what the government aren't. The government are not having better financial education and knowledge taught in schools, and I believe that's really important. The government are waging war on the landlords, whereas we need more landlords. Landlords are solving the housing crisis. So the system is completely fucked, and I am doing my best to help. So if you'd like better financial education and knowledge, if you'd like to make, manage, and master money, if you'd like to build multiple streams of recurring income, be able to protect yourself, be able to have um, diverse income streams, be able to afford these massive increases in rents, in energy, in tax and inflation, go join Rob.team. A load of you are asking me to be PM. No way, no way. I'll just keep doing my bit here. But come and join Rob.team and keep learning and keep earning and keep investing. And, and also then you'll be able to give back. So if you open a new page on the internet right now and type rob.team. Rob.team. Rob.team. Go join right now for the cost of a large coffee. You can cancel anytime. You've got hundreds of hours of financial educational content. Uh, there's no contract, uh, ongoing. It's a monthly thing, but there's no like contract of 12 months or anything like that. And I'm doing new masterclasses all the time. I do my Sunday sessions And I also do my masterclass courses. I've got the Mindset and Money masterclass, the 21 Ways to Monetize Social Media masterclass. I've got the 5 Fastest Ways to $100K masterclass. I'm doing my Membership Site Mastery masterclass. I've got all these masterclasses to help you make better income, quicker income, more decentralized income, side hustle income, entrepreneurial income, get your taxes down. I've got a masterclass from my accountant who saved me a lot of money in tax and I paid them a lot of money. And therefore you can reinvest into growing your businesses. I employ 100 staff in my companies, probably another 50 to 100 outsourcers, plus I've got 1,100 tenants. I do my bit and I pay a fuckload of tax. And the government are doing everything they can to make it impossible to run a business and to make it impossible to, you know, have housing and investment property and be a landlord. They're doing their absolute best to make it really fricking hard. And I, like I said, I know I'll be all right because I've got the resources, but it's 10 times harder. And I'm doing my bit to help as many people as possible, but you got to help yourself. So go join rob.team. It'll cost you less than a large coffee. You can cancel anytime, and you can learn how to not just survive but thrive, to beat taxation, to beat inflation, to beat governments, to beat banks, to be decentralized, to have financial freedom, to have independence. And even when the government go do crazy things like cap and ban any rent raises while the landlord's costs are going through the roof, you cannot just survive but thrive. So all you need to do is open a new page on the internet, type rob.team into a new window. Go do it right now. Um, yeah, I'm hiring, so I'm looking for, um, pay-per-click and advertisers. So if you've got experience in that, I'm looking for social media admin support. Uh, yeah, I'm always hiring. Email rob@robbmoore.com if you think you're qualified or if you'd like to maybe work from me and learn from me. Yeah, I'm just engaging in the comments now. Um, someone has said here mortgages should be banned. Uh, I, I don't know. So this is Richard again. Um, if mortgages are banned, landlords can't afford to buy properties, therefore tenants don't have anywhere to live. Come on. All right, anyway, I've got to get out of here now. I'm gonna have a freaking hernia. I was enjoying my pork, pork tacos. What? Let me know what you think in the comments. I'll see you in Rob.team. Go join right now. Do yourself a favor. Look, I'm doing my bit. If you want to get business economics, a degree in that, that will cost you probably 6 figures in the whole term, including, you know, the student accommodation, which by the way landlords help you with. Um, and these tutors who teach you business economics and finance at school, they're broke. They are broke. So we have a system where broke people are teaching about business, economics, and finance, and it costs you 50, 60, 80, 100 grand in debt and fees for the privilege of learning about money from the broke. It's fucking wrong. Yeah, Faisal has just joined Rob.team. Go and join Faisal and go and join Rob.team. Whereas I, because I'm an entrepreneur, because I'm a landlord, because I took full personal responsibility to make my own money and my own living, I can now do this to give back. So many people have been saying, Rob.team, it should be £30, £50, £100 a month. This stuff should be taught in school. And I'm doing it for less than the cost of a large coffee, one-third of the price of Netflix. Why would I do that? Because I'm going to get tens of thousands of members and I can make my money that way. But I'm passing a big amount of the saving on to you. Are the government passing savings on to you? No. So take advantage of it. Just type in rob.team, rob.team, into a new window in the internet. Go do it right now. I'm not trying to make you all laugh. Clearly you're finding this funny. It's not. It's a serious matter to go and join rob.team. But I am fucking angry. I think it's disgraceful that you can ban evictions and ban rent rises. I, I think tenants should be protected. But I also think landlords should be protected, and I also think that people should be protected. I'll see you in rob.team. Just type rob.team into a new window, get all these bonus masterclasses, get the hundreds of hours of content going back. It's for people who want to start and scale their business, get better education and knowledge, make, manage, and master money, learn what you didn't learn in school, learn how to be financially independent. You must be financially independent, by the way. If you are not financially independent with inflation and taxation and, you know, the banking system how it is and all these fucking communist-type new rules that are being imposed, you will be fucked. I'll see you therefore in Rob.team. And no, I am not going to be Prime Minister. No, no, no, no, stop saying it. See you in Rob.team. Thanks for tuning in. Hit the share button, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything. And Nicola Sturgeon, piss off back to Scotland. Do not bring your crazy fucking ideas of banning evictions and rent increases down the border into England. You are on crack. You are insane. You guys did the lockdowns. You guys spent billions on vaccines that most of us didn't agree to. You guys spent billions on track and trace apps that we didn't want. You guys shut us down against our will. You paid for all this with our money. You can piss off. Not you. Go and join rob.team. I'll see you there. You just type rob.team. Loads of money masterclasses because you must take personal responsibility. Like, the cost of living with inflation is probably going up 20% plus hard a year now. Like, can anyone argue with me that your cost of living and inflation combined— and I know part of it is the same, but part of it isn't— but can you argue with me that it's less than 20%? I don't think anyone would think that your cost of living is not going up 20% or more. So if you're not earning 25 or 30% more every year, your money is going down every single year because of a load of shit that cost hundreds of billions that we didn't fucking agree to. It's wrong. So you need to learn, earn, invest. You need to take personal responsibility, get side hustles, multiple income streams, build assets, and take final, decentralized, and full control of your finances. And that's why I have Rob.team, because it can help you do that. So I'll see you there. Just type Rob.team into a new window in the internet right now. Do it now. I'm out of here.
