Scandal: BP made $8.2bn this Quarter! š¤¬

BP posted $8.2 billion in a single quarter while UK citizens already pay roughly 70% in combined taxes. The speaker argues the government should impose a windfall tax on oil majors and enforce antitrust rules instead of letting corporations dodge their share.

BP have just registered another record quarter in profits. They made $8.2 billion net profit in one quarter. That's prorated at $35 billion a year in profits. While most people are trying to survive the greatest energy crisis that we've probably ever experienced. This is an utter scandal. It is an outrage. It is disgusting. Now, here's the thing though, and you might be surprised to hear me say this. I am not disgusted by BP. I am not disgusted by Shell. BP and Shell and all the other energy firms are entitled to make a profit. I'm not disgusted by them at all. In fact, most of the rhetoric that you're going to see in the media on the huge profits from these oil and gas companies are going to be blaming BP And Shell? I don't. I blame the government because the government are here to govern, which means the government are here to ensure there is free market, fair competition, and fair distribution of wealth. And it pisses me off when people call for the rich to be taxed. When it's not the rich that should be taxed more, it's the super rich. And the rich, which might be earning six figures a year or might be making low millions a year in their small business, are outrageously taxed. You, the, the poor, the working, the middle, and the lower rich classes, of which we're probably all a part of, by the way, We are now paying nearly 70% in tax in what we earn and what we spend. And by the way, the government have just announced that to reduce their debt, 50% in tax increases and 50% in budget cuts. So you are already paying nearly 70% in tax already, and the government have just announced that they're going to increase your taxes and reduce the spending in the services that are already fucked. The roads are already fucked, the NHS is already fucked, the school system is already fucked, my tripod's fucked. It's all fucked already, and yet we're going to be taxed more and there's going to be less budget on our services. And BP just registered Ā£8.2 billion profit in one quarter. Ā£7.1 billion. And there's no windfall tax. There's no equal and fair distribution of that wealth. Do you know what? I actually bet that the main stakeholders in BP and Shell would probably be okay with paying a bill or two or even 3% of that in a windfall tax, in giving some of it back to the people. But it's not being made to, and it's not going to if it's not being made to, because why should it? So Rishi is taxing 20% VAT, 25% corp tax, 45% income tax, National Insurance, which is on the rise, um, pension contributions, National Insurance for the employer and the employee. Sales taxes on everything you buy, double and triple dipping on taxes. Fuel, you pay double, triple dip. You're taxed 2 and 3 times on the same thing. So our taxes are going up, yet BP and Shell, there's zero windfall tax. And it makes you wonder why. Why? Who's donating to government campaigns? Who's really controlling our politicians and policies? I don't know. But sure, by the way, a windfall tax is a one-off tax where a company may have made unfair profits or extremely high profits, and it's up to the government to govern, which means free market fair competition and equal distribution of wealth, or relatively equal distribution of wealth, or fair distribution of wealth. Where's that happening? Where's the free market competition between BP and Shell and Aramco? Where's the fair redistribution? Now, by the way, if energy was cheap and we were all well off and we're in prosperity and they're making record billions a quarter in profit, all good. Crack on, share the love, go make money, it's all great. But you are earning less, your inflation is way higher, your net spending power is the lowest it's been since the Second World War, your energy and food prices are soaring, yet these massive corporations are making record billions, Ā£8.2 billion in a quarter, and the government are doing nothing. What is going on? This is wrong. This is so wrong. Quote: Rishi Sunak should be hanging his head in shame that he has left billions of windfall profits in the pockets of the oil and gas companies while the British people face the cost of living crisis. I completely fucking agree. Rishi should be hanging his head in shame, taxing the ordinary people through the nose and leaving easy billions, fair billions on the table, not windfall taxing these big energy companies. And by the way, I'mā if the capital system is actually a capital system and it's actually used properly, I'm more pro-capitalism than I am socialism. So I'm actually not a fan of taking profits off successful firms, but I am if it's a monopoly, I am if it's unfair, and I am if the people lose. So Rishi, what the fuck are you doing? You have got billions there you can immediately put into your coffers. Oh, and by the way, if you tax the super-rich just 5% more, you've got trillions there waiting to go into the coffers instead of taxing us more and cutting our spending more. It's completely wrong. It's outrageous. It's a scam. They should be held to account. But there is no democracy. We didn't vote for Rishi. We didn't vote for Liz Truss. We have no say. We didn't vote for lockdown. We didn't vote for vaccines. It's all fucking mandatory. We're just being controlled. We have no choice. This is wrong. If you agree with me, please share your thoughts in the comments. All right, I've got a few solutions. Are you ready? I always like to finish with solutions. So quick summary, um, BP made a record quarterly profit of Ā£7.1 billion, $8.2 billion. I don't have a major problem with that. I have a major problem with the government not creating fair free market anti-monopoly antitrust laws, and I have a problem that they're not redistributing some of that, not all of that, back into the people. That's what they should be doing. Instead, they're charging the people more money. So the big oil and gas firms can make billions and we have to pay for lockdowns and COVIDs and everything else. It's fucking wrong. It's a scam. What is Rishi doing? Rishi, wake the fuck up. Okay, so that's the summary. Um, solutions then. Number 1 is, if I were in government, I'd immediately go and rip up the tax code. It's thousands of pages long. It's fucking complicated. The government have God knows how many civil servants and people paid to move that paper around. It's a complete waste of money. I'd go in, I'd rip that out, and I'd have a flat rate of tax for everyone. 20%, I don't know, 25%, but the billionaires and the zero airs and the nearly theirs, we'd all pay the same. And by the way, if we just increase the tax on the super rich by 5%, I'm sure they're happy to pay it, and that's trillions of pounds. So that's one thing I would do. Trillions back in the government coffers immediately, get rid of their debt. Why aren't they doing it? Hmm, makes you wonder who's controlling politics, who's controlling the politicians, who's really puppet stringing the company. All these donations, where are they coming from? I know they got given a legacy of massive debt, but how can Shell and BP make record billions of profits in a quarter, not a year, in a quarter, and yet everyone's energy is going up 200, 300, 400, 500, 800%? Our taxes are going up. The spending in our country and our budget for all of our services is going down. How can this be? What is going on? What kind of scam are we being drawn into? Who is really controlling the world? Who is really pulling the puppet strings? What the fuck? Let me know if you have any idea in the comments. Please share this video because it's vital we get this message out there. I'm not a fan of overly taxing merit-based successful companies, but essentially energy is almost a public service. I don't have a problem with a public service being privatized if there's fair and free market competition. But there isn't. It's fucking monopoly. It is a private enterprise corporation acting like a public sector, but making profits like a private enterprise, but being given all of theā I better shut up here. I might say some things I might get told off for by whoever rules the world. Thanks for tuning in. Remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything. And please hit the share button.
