Subscription & Recurring Income in 7 Simple Steps

Rob Moore walks through seven steps to build subscription income: pick a platform like Patreon or Kajabi, define your niche, set a content schedule, price tiers starting around $10, make signup frictionless, do the math on growth, and acquire members. He shares revenue examples and a "content bridge offer" tactic for marketing.

How to set up a subscription-based recurring income business fast, easy, with what you already know, what you already do, what you already love, what you've already learned, what your niche already is, your passion into your profession, your vocation into your vacation. Now this is going to be practical and tactical and step by step. I believe there are 7 steps to building a subscription-based platform for recurring income in the quickest possible way. Now, you can do things long and hard and difficult, or you, or you can do things quick and easy. I'll let you choose. So, um, step 1 is you need to know what platform you're going to set up on. I haven't got a stammer. Number 2 is You're going to need to figure out, um, what your niche is and what your information is. Step 3 is you're going to know— need to know how much content to record and put out there. Step 4 is you're going to need to know what to charge. Step 5 is you're going to need to make it easy for people to join. Step 6 is you're going to need to know how to build up that platform, and then we'll do some maths, which will be step 7. So if you are able to, uh, access my Instagram story, I've written those 7 steps on my most recent Instagram story. You can go and follow me on Instagram, screen grab my last story, and I'll talk you through these step by step. Okay, I'll make it practical and tactical and actionable. So step 1, there are 4 main platforms that you need to set up on, and these are plug and play, white label, easy to set up. So number 1 is Patreon. Number 2 is Kajabi. Number 3 is Facebook Supporters. And number 4 is OnlyFans. Now they're all a bit different depending on your niche, your assets. Assets, OnlyFans assets. So Patreon is good if you've got a podcast, a YouTube channel, if you want a platform for subscription that's not reliant on one social channel. That's pretty easy just to upload content that you go live on quite quickly and regularly. It's very plug and play. You also don't have to pay upfront, so you can just join. And then I think they take 12% of all your subscriptions. Kajabi is if you want to build an online business, you want to build an events and a training business, and you want modularized content to be drip fed and time delayed, and you want to build a big training platform. Platform. Facebook supporters is if you use Facebook quite regularly. So I'm a regular on Facebook and I've got a good following there. So for me, it makes sense to have a subscription platform on Facebook because people can just press the supporter button on the live, double-click on the Apple Pay on the side of the phone, and they're in. It's really easy. Whereas, you know, sending them to Patreon or Kajabi, they've got to put all their details in again, their credit card information, etc. So if you're pretty prolific on Facebook, I'd recommend joining Facebook supporters. I have 3,200 Facebook supporters who all pay about $5 a month. I decided to go the lowest amount of money and the highest volume. So I'm going to be looking to grow up to about 50,000 members to make a real impact on this planet. And then there's OnlyFans. So if you know how you look and your visuals and your travel and lifestyle and you have other assets that Robbie doesn't have, then OnlyFans can be good. Now, by the way, OnlyFans isn't just for the thing that OnlyFans is kind of normally known for, um, but again, these are simple white-labelable, um, subscription-based platforms that you can put content on, whatever your content happens to be, and you can start making money today. Like, literally at the end of this little mini masterclass I'm doing for you, wherever you're tuning in from, When we finish, you could have this set up within the next 15 to 30 minutes. Okay, number 2 then is, okay, so let's say you've decided on your platform and you've set it up. Okay, great. So what's your niche? What's your business model? What's your content? And I would always say, start with what you're passionate about. So what do you love to do? What are you already experienced in? What have you been doing much of your life? Now, I love helping people start and scale their business and get better financial knowledge. I love business, entrepreneurship, sales and marketing and strategy and vision. and I love personal brand. I love social media and all the channels of getting yourself out to market. That's my passion. But if I didn't have that, I love vinyl, um, I love Alexander McQueen, I love Audemars Piguet, I do quite like travel, I love classic cars. So, you know, I love creating content. So each one of those would be a great niche— health, wellness, well-being, mindfulness, you Anything that you're passionately interested in, you don't have to be a guru yet, you just have to be passionately interested in, that should be what you set your subscription-based platform on. I mean, Jordan Peterson had, I think, 15,000 patrons. He'd have been making maybe hundreds of thousands a month. And you know, what would you call his niche? I mean, really, he just sort of became a social and political commentator, if you like. Joe Rogan made $100 million selling his podcast and $30 million a year. From just talking about comedy and martial arts and, and commenting on, again, political and social issues. So you don't even have to really have that clear niche. You could just build it around your name. People follow Joe Rogan and, um, Jordan Peterson. Why? Because they love Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson. I actually have a platform called Rob.team. So, uh, you turn your ideas into information into income. Ideas into information into income. Okay. Number 3 then. So we've covered what platform are you on? What is your niche and business model? Is it broad or is it niche? Uh, and then the third thing is how much content should you put up on the subscription platform versus how much free content you put up there, et cetera. I believe one piece of content a week, maybe 6-ish pieces of content a month. As long as it's good quality and differentiated from free. So that surprises a lot of people because they think you need to put up a piece of content a day. You don't. So here are the different types of content I think you can put up. So number 1 is you could put up exclusive content, i.e., content that people can't get on your free platforms. I'll give you an example. I interviewed David Icke. His video went live on my YouTube channel 5 and a half days ago, 6 days ago. It's up at nearly 650,000 views, so it's doing pretty well. But we had to take out about half an hour of the content because it used the C-word and because we probably would have— we were worried about getting a strike on YouTube. So what we did is we put the content we could put up and then we said, hey, if you want to listen to the behind-the-scenes, uncut, not-for-public-viewing David Icke content, go and join my subscription platform, and we actually put that little mini ad within the video. So that— so you could take exclusive content, behind-the-scenes content. You could also have more access to you. So I used to go live once to twice a week on Facebook doing what I call Ask Me Anything Lives. When I say what I call them, lots of people call them that. I actually changed mine to Ask Me Fucking Anything just to make it a bit more unique. So I used to do AFMLs, Ask Me Fucking Anything Lives, once or twice a week. And then when I set up my subscription platform, I just moved that. So I gave people about a month's notice and I said, look, in a month's time I'm not going to be doing Ask Me Fucking Anything lives on, um, the, you know, on my free platforms. All you need to do though is join my subscription platform, it's only £3.49 a month, and I'll do Ask Me Fucking Anything lives every fucking week. So you can take stuff that's sort of more access to you or more exclusive, and that can go into your subscription platform. So actually, half of my subscription content was content that I was doing anyway for free. What you can also do is if you have recorded courses or if you've done content before but you charge for that, what you do is you allow your subscribers to get access to that for their subscription. So there's 3 or 4 differentiators between free content and your subscribers. It's, you know, behind the scenes, exclusive access. It's more access to you, like ask me anythings and Q&As, or otherwise deeper, more tactical paid-for content. And I reckon you only need to do 4 to 6 pieces a month to satiate your members, especially if you're at the $5, $10, $20 a month level. I actually do a lot more than that because I'm trying to build a platform that's got 50,000+ paying members. Okay, number 4 then is how much do you charge? Well, I see no reason for you to start at £10 or dollars. That is a really low amount of money. I don't think there's anyone in your niche or industry that's like, £10, fucking pounds, what a rip-off! I mean, I think a pint of beer is nearly that in the UK now. I think a bag of spinach is with inflation at the moment. So you just need to work out your subscription amount. Now, I decided to start at the lowest possible amount because I wanted high volume. So I actually only charge $5, but you could charge $10. And I actually, probably starting again, would charge $10. I don't think I would have lost that many members at $5 to $10. So start at $10 a month, and then what you do over time is you add other levels. So, excuse me, You'll start at $10, and then as you get more content ideas, you'll have a $30 a month level, a $50 or $100 a month level, and then a $500 a month level. And as you build out more members, you build up more levels. Okay, step 5 then. I'm getting a few people on the, um, lives asking, uh, how do— what platforms do you use, etc. Well, I've actually covered that, so I'll do a quick recap. On my Instagram stories, if you want to follow me there, You can see I've put the 7 practical and tactical steps of starting your own subscription platform, no matter whether you have no money, no matter where you are in the world, no matter what your niche is. I'm telling you, anyone can do this. The only reason you wouldn't do this is if— because you can't be bothered, um, or you don't believe in yourself or your niche. And that's what I'm here to help. So number 1 is the platform you set on, and there's Patreon, Kajabi, Facebook Supporters, or OnlyFans depending on your niche. And your vision, and maybe your position and experience. You can go back and watch the live on, um, Facebook. So I'm actually simultaneously live here on Clubhouse, um, Instagram, and Facebook. So my Facebook Live will be recorded, and you can go back and watch the entire thing, whereas the Instagram and the Clubhouse will disappear when I finish. So if you're tuning in a bit late or you want all the content, go follow me on Facebook and you can just save the video and watch the entire thing over and over and you can just follow this. Like, some people charge £1,000 to do a course to teach you what I'm doing here for free. Um, so 1 was the platform to set up on, 2 was your niche and information and your vertical and your content, number 3 was how much content you do and what types of content you do, and number 4 is how much you charge. Which brings us to number 5, is you've got to make it easy for them to join. If I said, go to my subscription platform, www.robmoore.com, forward slash, sign up to my fucking subscription platform right now, or I will slap you in the face, forward slash, it's never going to happen. Or if you had to put in 72 bits of information to sign up, it's never going to happen. Or if I couldn't clearly articulate the benefits to you, it's never going to happen. So for my subscription platforms, one of them is on Facebook. So people literally just press a button on Facebook. I'm actually not here to promote it, so, but I'm just telling you it's easy. And I have a short URL for anyone who's not on Facebook, which is rob.team, R-O-B.T-E-A-M. So it's really important that what your subscription platform does is clear, what niche it's in, and, you know, what value it gives, and that it's easy to sign up. I.e., you've got a nice smart URL which is a sure easy link, rob.team, R-O-B dot T-E-A-M. And then when they go and sign up, it's easy to sign up. So a nice clean landing page with the benefits and an easy way to join, and not too difficult to put a zillion payment details in. This is really important. Money loves speed and hates friction. You know when you go into Amazon and you buy anything and you just click one button? Well, Amazon would have spent billions developing that, all in that one-click order button. You go to Amazon because it's easy. You trust it, yes, but it's easy. So you need to make it easy for people to join your subscription platform. Okay, number 6, and I'm reversing the order a bit. If you look at my Instagram story, I'm doing number 7 now and I'm doing number 6 last. So number 6 is money. So how much can you make from this? Like, realistically, how much? I'm going to assume you are 24 years old, you have an internet connection and a phone, um, but you don't— you have £50 in the bank, uh, and you, uh, have a social media account on all the channels. That's, that's what I'm going to assume. Or you're 75, whatever. So, um, if you charge $10 a month and you get just 3 members a day, that's nearly $12,000 a month within a year. Let me say that again. If you get just 3 members a day, 3 new members a day, and you charge just $10 a month or pounds, in a year, that's $12,000 a month. It's not $12,000 a year, it's $12,000 or pounds a month. A month. Now I reckon most of you watching and listening, £12,000 or dollars a month from 6 pieces of content you were probably half of them already doing or at least if you're not, from things you already know, I would guess you would take that, and that is life-changing income for many of you. So you can really go and live your life and, you know, make a big difference on this planet. So start with $10 a month, or pounds. By the way, if you're in UK, just charge pounds, and if you're in US, just charge dollars. Start there and target 3 members a day, and that's it. So my final piece of information here for you is how do you get 3 members a day? Now, It is really not hard to get 3 members a day. Some people are asking for my page to join my, um, subscription. I don't want to talk about that here now. I'm not doing this content to, you know, try and encourage you to join my platform. Um, so I'll— we'll talk about that another time. Okay, so here is how you get minimum 3 members a day. You do a 5-minute piece of content and then you make a 2-minute offer for your subscription platform at the end of that content. And you do that as regularly as you can until you hit your 3 new members a day. And if you hit that in one piece of content, maybe you do another one and you get 6 members a day. Maybe you do another one and get 9 members a day. So first of all, I'll tell you what platforms you can do that on, and then I'm actually going to do a live demonstration for you because I want to show you how easy it is. Is. So you could go in Clubhouse, you could do 5 to 15 minutes of content, and then you could bridge in and offer your subscription platform. I reckon you could get 10 or 20 members in a Clubhouse room. If you, if you had 100 members in a Clubhouse room, you could— why couldn't you get 10 members? So that's going to be 10 members, that's going to be £100 or dollars a month just from one Clubhouse room. Then you could go live on Facebook and you could do 5 minutes of content and then bridge into making the offer for your subscription platform and get another 5 10 members, even if you haven't got many followers. Then you could go live on Instagram and do the same thing. Then you could record a podcast episode and do the same thing. Then you could record a YouTube video and do the same thing. So there's really no limit. If you want to drive from 3 members a day to 10 members a day to 20 members a day— I've got nearly 500 members in 10 days, so that was what, 50-odd members a day? Because I went on a bit more of a drive because I did a Make Cash Challenge. And those subscribers, if you're at $10 a month, they might subscribe for you for many years to come. So you're creating the pitch once and then you're doing it over and over again. Now there's a way I can help you get a little bit more leveraged with that, but I'm going to do a live demo. So here we go. So there's a very elegant way to offer your subscription platform, which I call story or content bridge offer. Content bridge offer. Content bridge offer. So what content bridge offer is, is delivering a piece of content on social media and then elegantly dancing from that content into the offer. And I'm going to do a live demonstration right now for you to show you how easy it is, but what I will do is I will just shorten the content into, um, just a bullet point list because otherwise it'll take me 10 minutes to do. So I could go live and go, hey, it's Rob Moore. And I'm going to give you the 7 simple steps to set up a subscription platform that can earn you more than $10,000 a month. Are you ready? Step 1, you need to know the platform to set up on. And there are 4. Step 2 is you need to have a niche and choose a subject matter, ideally what you're passionate about. Step 3 is you need to record between 2 and 6 pieces of unique content. Per month, and there are 4 types. Step 4 is you need to know what you charge, and you charge anywhere between $10 and $500 a month. Step 5 is you need to make it easy to join with a smart URL and a really good clean landing page. Step 6 is you need to know how to get your 3, 5, and 10 members a day. I believe there's a dozen ways to do that. And then step 7 is you just need to do the maths and take action. And if you would like to learn the details and the specifics of building a subscription-based platform, then you can join mine, which is at rob.team. The link is rob.team. You just write rob.team in a browser. You don't even need to put www. in. And when you join rob.team, you can literally copy my subscription platform. I have 3,200 members. I've been doing this for 4 years, so I'm very experienced in this. In fact, I'm interviewing the founder of Netflix in a couple of weeks who's got the biggest subscription platform in the world. So I know this stuff. I can teach you which platform of the 4 is right for you. I can teach you the 4 different types of information you should have on a subscription-based platform. I can teach you the right payment to start with. Should you be $10 or $50 or $100? I can teach you how to get 3 or 30 new members a day. So go right now to rob.team and join my subscription platform and let's help you start and scale yours and within a few months have a life-changing residual income. Okay, end. So that actually was a demo. I don't— some of you might be going to rob.team, but that was a little demo there. So what I did was I did the 7 steps as a piece of content and then I just bridged into the offer of my subscription platform. Now you could literally give me any piece of content within reason not 7 steps to becoming a porn star. I probably could, I could maybe bridge that into an OnlyFans. So, but the point is here, if I pitch it every day, just go, 'Oi, you, Rob.team platform now, now,' then after a while people will be like, 'Bloody hell, Rob's just selling all the time.' Whereas if I do piece of content bridging to offer, piece of content bridging to offer, and I change up the content regularly and the elegant bridge moves you in then you can go live every day. People are like, yeah, Rob's going live again, I'm getting good content, and you gain these new members. So there's a little demo. Now, right now is a little hack. I'm live on Clubhouse, I'm live on Facebook, and I'm live on Instagram, and I'm recording for a podcast. And I will boost the Facebook post, and I will take the video, and this can be TikToks and Reels and Instagram and LinkedIn and YouTube and Facebook. So I can actually repurpose this one piece of content into multiple pieces of content. So let's say on average, I'm going to go really low because I want to make it like realistic for everyone. Let's say you get 3 people each time you do Content Bridge Offer on Clubhouse, 3 on Facebook, 3 on LinkedIn, 3 on podcast, 3 on Instagram, 3 on YouTube, um, 3 on TikTok. Let's just stop there. That's 21 a day. 21 a day. Okay, that's 210 every 10 days. That's 2,100. That is 6,500 members in a year. That's $30,000 a month. And anyone could do that. Will they? Maybe, maybe not. When all is said and done, more is said than done. To know and not to do is not to know, but anyone could do that. So my question is, are you going to? Are you going to build your digital assets to create subscription-based income? Are you going to put yourself out there a bit more on social media so that you can turn your content into cash flow, your ideas into information to create multiple streams of recurring income? Because now it's to you. It's over to you because I can come and show you the way, but you have to act. And if you would like help, then, um, I think that the recurring income summit that I've got coming up in 8 days could really help you start and scale this digital recurring income. So subscriptions and social media and personal brand. And monetizing all of your content, turning your content into cash flow, I believe that the Recurring Income Summit is the best way for you to start and scale this, and by the end of the event have practical tactical actions to build multiple streams of recurring income. So if you'd like to grab a place on that, I'm actually going to use a bit of my authority here, and I'm able to give you a free ticket because I own the company. So the link is robmoore.events. So if you now, right now, open a browser— this is for real, this is not a demo, this is for real— if you open an internet browser right now and go to Rob Moore, R-O-B-M-O-O-R-E dot E-V-E-N-T-S. T-S. I've just put it there on the Facebook Live. I'm now going to put it on the Instagram Live. R-O-B-M-O-O-R-E dot E-V-E-N-T-S. If you're in Clubhouse, go. I won't say it's a slow— Rob Moore dot events. I'm actually going to gift you— I'm going to subsidize you a ticket to the Recurring Income Summit. Now there's only one thing I need to say which should mean that every single one of you watching live or listening or watching the recording should go right now. I don't even need to say anything else, so I'm just going to say it. I have just agreed the founder of Netflix to speak at the recurring income— the founder of Netflix. Go now to robmoore.events and you'll get a ticket. Now, I've got 2 dates before the end of the year. He will be speaking at one of them and I'll be interviewing him. Yeah, Gary said it's just crashed. Um, and then the other one, you'll still get the talk, but it'll be a recording because, yeah, I'm not paying for him twice. So whatever happens, you'll get it. But the founder of Netflix teaching you recurring income. They have 193 million users, 193 million paying $10 or $15 a month, every month. More than $2 billion a month in revenue. So go to robmoore.events, R-O-B-M-O-O-R-E dot E-V-E-N-T-S, and I'm gonna gift you a ticket and upgrade you to premium. And the reason I'm doing this is because whilst I do usually charge for events, uh, in this instance, because many of you are quite new to finding my work I wanted to give you a chance to get to know me a bit more. Now, if you're having an issue with the link, a few people have said there's an error there. If you're having an issue, just DM me on any of my social channels the word money. So whatever social media you're following me on, just DM me the word money, M-O-N-E-Y. You can DM me on Instagram, you can DM me on Facebook. There might be a link in the comments. So if you're having issues with that robmoore.events, R-O-B-M-O-O-R-E dot E-V-E-N-T-S, then just DM me the word money and I'll make sure that I check the link and send you the full URL and make sure that you get on. I've got someone worth £700 million, so nearly a billion dollars, speaking at the Recurring Income Summit. The ex-CEO of Lamborghini, Porsche, and BMW speaking. I've got the global head of marketing for Disney and Coca-Cola. We're teaching you about digital assets, digital real estate. Um, so yeah, a few people have said it wasn't working and now it is. I might— I may have crashed it because I'm live here on 3 channels. I don't know. But, um, you can just always DM me the word money on any channel and I'll figure it out for you. This is going to be like one of the best events I've run, and I have run probably 5,000 events, 850 a year before the lockdown. So if you want to build digital assets with low and no money down in quick time and build recurring income from your personal brand and your content and what you already love and what you already know and what you already do, then, um, DM me the word money, um, and I will hook you up with a ticket. Uh, and, um, we're limiting the places to around about 350. So I spoke at an event before Deepak Chopra and, um, after Robin Sharma. So that's quite a good spiritual sandwich, and there were 50 people that joined that event and they had to turn the comments off because it was massive. I don't turn the comments off and you can ask me questions while we're at this event. And this, you can do Q&As with us. And I'll teach you the 4 main asset classes that create digital recurring income. I'll teach you the 19 different digital asset vehicles and then we'll work out which ones are right for you and how you set them up fast. And if you liked this mini masterclass on building subscription revenue and you like the practical and tactical way which I delivered it step by step, That's exactly what you'll get at the Recurring Income Summit. So whatever channel you are on, um, that you're listening in now, DM me the word money, M-O-N-E-Y, um, and I'll hook you up with a ticket if the link isn't working. So I want to say thanks a lot for tuning in on the lives. I'll see you at the Recurring Income Summit.
