The 3 Worst Things to do with your Money ⛔️

Rob Moore identifies three money mistakes during inflation: keeping cash in savings accounts that lose value, buying most cryptocurrencies outside Bitcoin, and purchasing new depreciating assets like cars and electronics. Instead, buy used items at the bottom of their depreciation curve, move money into gold and real estate, and build side businesses for extra income.

The 3 worst things to do with your money right now. There is a lot of fear around money out there. Inflation is huge. The cost of living crisis bites deep. The energy crisis continues to escalate. So right now, it's absolutely vital that you protect your money, you invest your money well, and you don't do things with your money that's going to get it wiped out, whether it's inflation, whether it's negative return, or whether it's just wasting it. Now, I'm not going to talk about things like gambling and alcohol. It kind of should be assumed that you're not going to spend all your money on gambling and alcohol, even though people need to distract themselves right now. That should hopefully be assumed, that you're not going to put your money into bad addictions. So that being said, and if you need to have a little word with yourself, by all means do. The first worst thing to do with your money, which surprises many people by the way, but one of the worst things you can do with your money right now is save it. And the reason for that is actually many. The first is that I wouldn't trust the banks right now. And even if you don't subscribe to the fact that there's some dodgy stuff going on behind the scenes, Just the fact that the governments and the banks are running out of money, and the banks are becoming an outdated museum artifact— is that the word? So actually, you don't want to leave your money in the bank because the banking system is not as secure as it used to be. But the next reason why you don't want to save money is because inflation is so much higher than interest rates. I'm actually going to come back and talk about this one at the end, so remind me in the comments. The first worst place to leave your money is in savings, in the banks, or anything backed by the government, because they're not giving you a return and it's not actually backed. Okay, the second thing, and this is unpopular by the way, but I'm happy to be unpopular because usually what is unpopular is what works. Observe the masses and do the opposite. Be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy. So the second worst thing to do with your money is to put it into most cryptos. Now look, Bitcoin's probably fairly safe and secure, it seems decentralized, but most other cryptos, they have the veil of security, the veil of being decentralized, but actually if the platform or the company or the owner behind it goes under, so does the entire crypto network. So actually, most cryptos are not secure enough yet, they're not proven enough yet, and they're not decentralized at all. And a lot of people are jumping into crypto head first, head down, ass up, like a dog digging in a hole, but you can't see where you're going. So I would not recommend that you put much of your money into most of the cryptocurrencies. And then the third worst thing to do with your money is to buy depreciating liabilities. So right now, many assets are going up in value. Cars, secondhand cars and classic cars have been going up. Gold's been going up. Watches has been going up. Precious metals have been going up. Real estate and property has been going up. But there are many depreciable liabilities. Now, you can't help food, of course. You need to buy food. You need to buy general sustenance. But don't spend any more money than you have to on depreciating liabilities, whether that's electronic equipment or a lot of the, a lot of the things that you buy brand new that sort of halve in value in 1 to 3 years. Try and buy secondhand. Try and buy at the bottom of the depreciation curve. Even with assets, by the way, I buy usually used. So most watches that I've made money on, I've bought used, not new. And most classic cars, well, all classic cars I bought used not new, that I've made money on. Now, some things, they've got a tradable value, like gold, and the value is what the value is. Real estate— I do not buy new property. I buy existing older property, 30, 40, 50, 80 years old, because the asset starts with a margin for the developer. Um, you buy a watch and it starts with margin for the watchmaker. So what you want is that profit margin for the developer, the watchmaker, to erode off, and then you're buying it at its real tradable value without the margin to the creator of it. So is this all making sense? Give me a yes in the comments if this is making sense. I can see a lot of you are tagging your friends in, so I just want to welcome anyone who's new to my videos. Thanks for tuning in, really appreciate you. Uh, okay, so the 3 worst things I believe you can do with your money right now is number 1, reverse order, buy depreciating liabilities. Make sure you buy assets and liabilities at the bottom of their depreciation curve, usually used and not new. It's pretty easy. All you have to do is track prices going back. Um, the next thing you shouldn't do with your money is put it into most cryptocurrencies. Now, Bitcoin's probably decentralized— I think it is— and it's probably now proven— I think it is— but I still wouldn't put much of my net worth into it. However, um, most of the other cryptos, even the ones that look good, they're not decentralized, they're not yet proven. And then the, the last thing I would not do with my money— and by the way, this goes against the grain of the masses, but the masses aren't educated— and that is leaving it in banks, saving it, or having it in government-backed assets. So if you buy bonds, you've got a negative return right now. So why would you do that? And do you trust the government to guarantee it? The banks won't guarantee that much of your money, and they won't insure it. And savings are minus 8, minus 12, minus 15% when you take what interest rates are compared to what inflation is. So the very worst thing you can do with money that you want to retire on, to build your nest egg for the future on, is to leave it in savings. So some of you have said in the comments, well, what should I do then? Well, I'll give you a few tips. Are you ready? Here we go. Number 1 is savings are great as a way to build an investment pot. So I'm not saying don't save any money, I'm just saying don't leave money in savings. The purpose of saving is to teach you money discipline and then to invest it. So as soon as you've got enough money to buy gold, to put a deposit on a house, to buy an investment material item like a watch or something like that, immediately get it out of cash, out of the bank, and into an asset. That's the first thing that you can do as a way of a solution. The next thing is you want to invest your time, money, and resources into appreciating assets, not your time, money, and resources into depreciating liabilities. So a business that you start, or a side hustle, that's an appreciating asset. If you get into property and real estate, or you start learning about vintage classic cars, vintage watches, art, and other classes of investment, the stock market, and you learn about them, because the more you learn, the more you earn. So that's the next thing you can do: put time, money, energy, and resources into assets not liabilities. Then the next thing you need is multiple streams of income. So one stream of income is not enough right now because of inflation, because of taxation, and because of the risks going on in the world. You need 2, then 3, then 4, then 5 different asset classes and diversified income streams. So that might be from your content— content into cash flow, information into income. That might be from real estate. You might have some gold. You might have one or two different companies, for example. So if you'd love to learn how to get the best return on your money and time, build assets that produce income, create multiple streams of income, and start your side hustle or your new venture, and you would like to not just survive but thrive this crisis, and you would like to learn how to get the most out of your time and your money and your resources, I recommend you go join Rob Moore. Team. Jeanette said you've got to diversify your earnings. 100% agree, because here's the thing: you could get wiped out in any one area now, couldn't you? So don't— for example, if you have decent money, don't keep it all in one bank. If you had it all in Northern Rock in 2008— so diversification is really important. I don't think storing or saving gold is dangerous as long as you've got it somewhere safe. Okay, so anyway, I can answer all these questions and continue to teach you in Rob.team. Someone has said here, is silver good to invest in? I personally prefer gold, generally because it's the more precious of a metal. Generally it's therefore more desirable, it's a little bit more scarce, and you can buy more of it with less storage issues because, um, silver is obviously less valuable, therefore you need a lot more of it. And when I buy gold, I buy physical. I know some people will like to buy it online or shares in it or have it stored in a vault. Nah, I want to own it. I want it physically. So I personally prefer gold to silver for the long time. Obviously the price is going to do that between them. I— at some point per ounce, silver might be a little bit more than gold, for example. But in the long run, I think I prefer gold for those reasons. Thank you for all of you that have shared, by the way. Jonas just said she shared this to her family. Because when you don't have money, you have to tap into your resourcefulness because you don't have the financial resources. So no money down property joint ventures, for example, or starting an information-based business, or launching a membership site. There you go, there's 3 ways you can do no money down investing. In fact, I'll tell you what, get this, because I'm always listening to, you know, my people who watch me. Someone has said invest in a razor. Yeah, but look, the cost of living crisis— look at me saving money. Um, I will do a how to raise money masterclass with myself or one of my guest experts, and I will do how to invest with low or no money. How's that? That's why I do the Mindset and Money Masterclass, because if you cannot manage your emotions around money, do not expect to make more money. That was Warren Buffett's quote, by the way.
