The Truth About Your First Million

Rob Moore argues the timeline to your first million has collapsed from ten years to two or three, thanks to inflation and the internet. He breaks wealth into three types: net-worth millionaires, liquid millionaires, and "fuck-you" millionaires. The surest path is helping enough people get what they want through a solid product, marketing, sales systems, and service.

The truth about your first million. Well, the first truth is a million is not what it used to be. 30 years ago, millionaire is very different to now. But I became a millionaire just before the age of 31. That was 15 years ago almost to the day. So I'm going to share with you some truths about your first million. So the first thing is is that it used to take 10 years to be an overnight success. This is what all the mentors and gurus, the experts, would tell you. Takes 10 years to be an overnight success. Now it doesn't. Now it takes 2 or 3. And honestly, I don't believe in get-rich-quick in these schemes or scams, but it is way easier to become a millionaire now than it used to be. Reason number 1 is a million isn't what it used to be because of inflation. But reason number 2 is because of the speed of the internet, social media, AI, you know, the speed of information exchange, the speed at which you can learn, the leverage at which you can learn. You know, you can get content created for you, you can get software written for you. You can use AI to be your brain. You can use it to analyze data and trends and patterns. And so for that reason, it doesn't take as long to become successful and wealthy and a millionaire anymore. However, there are downsides that there never used to be and you never used to have. So overwhelm never used to be a problem. Getting the information was hard. And now there's so much information, knowing which information to implement on your journey is the new first world problem of trying to become a millionaire. So your first million will take less time than it used to, but it will take longer than you probably think. So, you know, you're probably a bit naive, a bit unrealistic about what it takes, you know, the skills and traits you need to develop, who you need to become, the resilience and grit you need to build up, the challenges you're going to face. And actually, that naivety is really good to start, because if you knew the extent of what you'd have to go through to be financially free and successful, maybe you wouldn't even bother trying. You'd just stick to whatever current role you're in, which is barely keeping you above the levels of tax and inflation. So takes 2 to 3 years now, not 10. It's nowhere near as much as it used to be. It's quicker than it used to be, but it takes longer than you think. The next truth about becoming a millionaire is when you get there, it ain't enough. And I remember getting there. The reason I say specifically just before age 31 is one, because that was the exact timeframe, but two, because I was pissed off because I wanted to be a millionaire before 30. That was like a thing I would be able to brag about, or it would be an accomplishment. I became a millionaire before age 30. But I remember when I became a millionaire, it was mostly on paper. Well, actually it was mostly in real estate, which is real, but it was still on paper. And you know, there's 3 kinds of millionaire, I think. There's the net worth millionaire, the liquid millionaire, and the fuck you millionaire. And the fuck you millionaire just doesn't even count anymore because they've got probably in the high tens or hundreds of millions or more. And they're liquid and they're also capital and they've got loads of labour and they've just got money, multiple streams of income coming in from everywhere. The net worth millionaire is a millionaire on paper but not a millionaire in cash or money. So they may have a £3 million property portfolio with £2 million worth of mortgages or they might have £3 million of assets and £2 million of debt and technically they are a millionaire because they are a net worth millionaire and that is the technical term. However, that doesn't feel like very much because a lot of it's on paper or in assets. Now, by the way, some people will say, oh yeah, you need to be a cash millionaire. Being a cash millionaire is not a great goal. Cash goes down with inflation, it's probably the lowest form of asset. So what you really want to be is a liquid millionaire. And that is where if you needed a million or 2 or 3 million in 3 days or 5, you could get access to it because you could liquidate assets should you choose, or you can move money around between different asset classes. So stage 1 is net worth millionaire, stage 2 is liquid millionaire, and stage 3 is fuck you millionaire. I mean, TML is a goal— $10 million liquid. Could you move $10 million from asset to asset and turn it into cash or liquidity as quickly as possible? But there's nothing wrong with shooting to become a paper millionaire, because actually a lot of these billionaires are paper billionaires, and liquidity isn't the goal. The goal is assets. The goal is wealth. The goal is income from the assets, as opposed to just, you know, the liquid million. I mean, if you were a liquid millionaire and you had a million liquid, where would you put it? You'd probably put it straight back into the asset that made you the millionaire in the first place. Like, you take it out of Bitcoin and put it back into Bitcoin. You take it out real estate and put it back into real estate. So if and when you do become a millionaire, you'll probably get there and go, yeah, okay, and you just carry on. Because people say to me, how much is enough and when is enough? Well, a million is not enough. And really nowadays with inflation, 10 million liquid is probably a good number for most people because 10 million liquid probably means you've got 30 to 50 million in hard asset to be able to get 10 million liquid. I remember hitting TML, you know, the $10 million net worth when I was just before the age of 35. And like I said, that's a long time ago. So there are a few truths about becoming a millionaire. The other truth is that if you help enough people get what they want, that's probably your best chance of becoming a millionaire. You know, no one actually cares if you want to be a millionaire. Like if I go, hey, I'm Robin, I'm going to be a billionaire. 'Yeah, look at me, aren't I great?' You don't care. You care if me becoming a billionaire is valuable to you. So if I give you useful products and services and information and it helps you, you're with me on my road to getting what I want. So if you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want. But that's just part of the equation. You know, you need to have a good product, you need to be able to market it well, you need to be able to take the payments, have fair exchange, good customer service, good scalability, You need to have decent repeatable systems and processes to sell the amount of products over and over to make these millions. So simple, not simple. And that's why we have our unique event called the Moneymaker Summit. So the Moneymaker Summit is designed for you if you'd like to learn how to make, manage, and multiply money. Learn how to build multiple streams of recurring income. Learn how to hit that first million. Remember it's net worth million, liquid million, fuck you millions. And then you'd like to go through those stages. In fact, at the Moneymaker Summit, I have my 8 stages of becoming rich, going from zero to millionaire. I also do 5 keynote speeches at this Moneymaker Summit. In addition to that, 8 stages on how to be rich. I share the best asset classes to invest in. In 2025. I share my 5-step talk framework for going from zero to 6 figures, and then my 5-step framework of going from 6 to 7 figures. And I go into quite a lot of detail, and I go through my own journey because, like I said, I became a millionaire just before age 31. I was 50 grand in debt just before my 27th birthday, so 4 years it took me to get out of all that debt and make my first million. And it was a long time ago and I've obviously developed a lot since then. And now I've done a quarter of a billion plus in sales. So if you'd like to get yourself along to this Moneymaker Summit and learn how I did all this and how you can too and meet peers like yourself, people who want to start and scale a business, people who want to build multiple streams of income, the page is robmoore.live/money. That's robmoore.live/money. Money. So Sadie has asked, where is the Moneymaker Summit and when? So the details are on the page. So the location, we've got 2 date choices coming up only. The location, the dates, you know, the agenda, the things you're going to learn, the speakers that are there. I've invited 6 of my multimillionaire friends, people who I've trusted, I've known for a decade or more, who I know are the real deal. Teaching you the best money-making strategies and tactics for 2025, the faster, quicker, better ways, but are also realistic and not schemey and scammy. I've also got someone who's nearly a billionaire coming to one of them and who is a billionaire coming to the other, and one of them who built the most disruptive business probably in the UK, certainly in the last, what, two decades. And it's all at robmoore.live. Money. So I'll give you a minute to go there. I've been celebrating the 10-year anniversary of my best-selling global book Money, 7-year anniversary of my best-selling global book Money, and because of that I've been giving away some tickets to the Moneymaker Summit. So if you go right now to robmoore.live/money, um, I'll give 15 of you on this video and the opportunity to get a fully sponsored ticket by me. So I'll pay for the speakers, the venue, the AV, the whole 3-day event. You just have to get there. And I'm doing this to celebrate the— in fact, I've been now translated in, I think, almost 20 different languages in that book across the 7 years. So, you know, I'm not very good at celebrating. I want to share and give back and celebrate with you. I can afford to do this because, one, I became a millionaire a long time ago, and two, because I own the training buildings. You know, hotel venues are really expensive in London, but I own these buildings so I can afford. It's not just a gimmick. I don't just give away free tickets. You need to be following me. You need to be an active, engaged community member. So it's robmoore.live/money. You'll also notice on that page that there are upgrade VIP tickets available, assuming that you're quick enough, assuming that you're, that you're you get in before the event sells out. We don't have thousands of people at these events. Our training suite, you know, comfortably holds 150, something like that. Considering I've got 3 million people that follow me, that's a lot. So by the way, I've also changed the agenda in recent times because of the budget and everything that's going on in the world. So I'm doing a 90-minute plus section, private section, on how to get your tax bill down and sharing with you what my tax accountants have taught me and helped save me tens of millions in tax. Even though I still pay tens of millions in tax, I've saved that amount of money. Also, we do a deep dive section on AI and leveraging AI and software because of the big increase in National Insurance that the Labour government have just bestowed upon us. So I've evolved the content, I evolve it every, every time. So if you've ever been to a Moneymaker Summit, you need to come back. It's a very unique event. It changes with the market and the best opportunities for 2025. I have got 6 millionaires to go and teach you, complete open book, the best ways they know of making money in 2025. And they have to fit my criteria. It has to be low cost, high speed, low friction. It has to be low overhead, you know, don't need a load of money, don't need a load of staff, don't need a load of premises, don't need loans. This is the criteria for the modern business. Also in the VIP upgraded tickets, which are not a lot of money, just a small amount of money to upgrade, you jump the queue, you get front row seating, you get dinner actually with the multimillionaires if you're super quick. There's also a 15-module, 18-hour masterclass on how to raise money. A lot of people say to me, Rob, this is all good, but I don't have much money. Well, I was minus 50 grand when I started, so I can relate. I didn't, didn't get any inheritance, wasn't given anything to start, had to hustle and do it all myself. And so all that knowledge I put into a How to Raise Money Masterclass with a business partner so that you can raise money to start your business or to get to the event or to quit your job or whatever it is that you need just for a really small upgrade. So the link is robmoore.live/money. Go there right now. Give yourself the gift to do this. Bring a business partner or a friend or family member, give them the gift. You are your best asset. Invest in yourself wisely. You pay yourself the best return. And the truth about making your first million is it doesn't take 10 years anymore, takes 2 to 3. Information is everywhere. Your new challenge is removing the overwhelm. And a million isn't as much as it used to be anymore. And therefore you probably need to make 10 to be comfortably secure for the rest of your life for many decades. And once you get there, you'll want more. And the way that you get there is by focusing on, you know, one strategy, one business model. And then the way that you stay there is by diversifying into different asset classes. You've got to think about if your goal is capital or income. And often you don't want to have cash millions. You want asset millions that provide you cash income. Thanks for tuning in, really appreciate you. I'll see you at the Moneymaker Summit Live. All the details are on the page, robmoore.live/money. And remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
