The White House Steps in on Spotify & Joe Rogan Censorship 😮

Rob Moore responds to Jen Psaki's White House statement pressuring Spotify over Joe Rogan's COVID coverage. He argues the government pressure is a veiled threat, warns that labeling content as misinformation is a weapon against dissent, and calls podcasting one of the last uncensored media spaces.

So I was very afraid of this happening, but the White House have just intervened and stepped in on the wildly raging censorship fight between Spotify and Joe Rogan, and, um, seems like a lot of other people— the artists, the actors, etc. Um, and more and more people are wading in on it, and that's fine. If you want to leave Spotify because you don't want to be associated with Joe Rogan, that's your call. But don't use you leaving as a threat, which is what Neil Young did. But this has just got way, way more serious. This has gone to another level, a level that I honestly was scared about happening, and I knew it was coming. It was obvious. Now I've done about 4 videos in 4 days on this. You can see them all on my Facebook page. And you know, this had been building up a bit of a head of steam. And then the day before yesterday, I just thought, enough, there's no point. I've made my point. Let's leave it. You know, we must fight for free speech. We mustn't just fight for our own free speech, by the way. We must fight for everybody else's free speech. Because if someone gets cancelled through a threat, then that's then gonna happen to you. But then the White House have stepped in. The White House have now intervened and made a statement on it, and honestly, it's a veiled threat. I really think it is. Let me know what you think. So I'm going to tell you what the White House statement was. I'll talk about who supported and who's challenged, um, Joe Rogan and Spotify. I mean, the things that they're starting to call the guy— people are saying that he's causing deaths. No one sharing their opinion on a podcast you know, it's responsible for causing deaths, um, unless they're teaching you how to build a bomb, and he's not doing that. So this is outrageous. Now you need to share this because this is actually breaking news. So, um, right, White House Press Secretary, um, Jen Psaki called on music and podcast streaming giant Spotify to do more. Well, they've already updated and published their policy. They're already in conversation and dialogue with their everyone. I mean, having a great big disclaimer at the start of content, is that not enough? Like, if you give investment advice, you have to have a great big disclaimer. You have a disclaimer, job done. They're gonna do a disclaimer. Isn't that good? Isn't that— what more do they need to do? By doing more, the subtext to me on that is cancel Joe Rogan. Well, Spotify are now being leveraged by the freaking White House. Like, it's bad enough if Spotify have to defend a creator. It happens to be Joe Rogan, who's more independent and balanced than most people, by the way. And that's a fact. Like, did you see his response? He apologized, he said he'd do more to have balanced discussion, he loves, um, Neil Young. I mean, that was a very balanced and magnanimous response. But the people who were calling for him to get off the platform, they're not balanced. They're just freaking using their language as weapons, and they're using, oh, I'm gonna take away my content, as a threat. Now, as soon as Spotify cancels one of Joe Rogan's episodes because Neil Young or someone else or the, um, White House says so, that's the start of 1984. That's the start of now me needing to get permission from everyone. On uploading a podcast, or basically every channel canceling or censoring as much as they want. And by the way, what's a fact anyway? So, um, the White House press secretary called, um, Spotify's updated policy and disclaimer a positive step. The Spotify decided to add these disclaimers about COVID misinformation and disinformation. Well, who says what's defined as misinformation and disinformation? And let's be honest, in 10 years' time, is what we thought to be true now going to be different then? We don't know the implication of the vaccines for another 10 years. Smoking wasn't deemed as bad for your health 50, 60 years ago. Sugar wasn't seen as a poison Now I'm not saying fluids and lockdowns and vaccines are right or wrong. I don't think we'll know for 10 freaking years, but we will know in 10 years. And things that people are calling facts now and misinformation and disinformation will be reversed, absolutely, because it always happens that way. Look at thalidomide. Look at all these things that were great at the time and now they're banned. And yet people like Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, now the White House Press Secretary, are basically saying without saying it that what we believe is fact and what you believe is misinformation and disinformation. Therefore, we're using misinformation and disinformation as a weapon against you, and we're using our power and our authority and leverage against you and against Spotify, and you will comply and you will cancel Joe Rogan. And if you don't, then there will be consequences. And we will leave and we will threat. Well, when does that stop? Because if that happens once, it happens 558,000 times, and you won't be able to fart without getting canceled. You won't be able to breathe without getting canceled, and you won't be able to think without getting canceled. And I was worried this was going there. Some people are, Rob, why are you jumping on and on and on about this? You know, you've done a couple of videos, that's enough. No, it's not enough. It's not about Joe Rogan. It's not about Spotify. It's not about the White House. And it's not about Neil Young. It's about who defines what's information and misinformation, who defines about what's a fact and what's not a fact, and who defines what we can and can't say. And that should not be Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, and all these other people that have banded together. Donald Trump's niche. I respect their right to leave. I respect their right to disagree. I respect their right to do a podcast going through all of Joe Rogan's content that they don't like and doing a reaction video on it. Why didn't Neil Young go on Joe Rogan and debate it with him? That's the frickin' solution. We discuss, we debate, but instead they just go, "You're wrong, I'm right, you leave Spotify or I'm leaving Spotify because what I know is fact and what you know is misinformation." I'm using misinformation and disinformation as a weapon. Now, by the way, Joe Rogan also interviewed some mainstream scientists, which he didn't really get much credit for. This is freaking outrageous, and please, you must share this video as far and as wide as you can, even more important than sharing the previous ones I've done. So the White House press secretary today Continues: our hope is that all major tech platforms— so White House are saying all major tech platforms, you must comply as what we perceive as information and facts and misinformation and disinformation. That's freaking 1984, the start of. Um, let me say it again: our hope is that all major tech platforms and all major news sources for that matter— so everyone Be responsible and vigilant to ensure the American people have access to accurate information on something as significant as COVID. So what defines accurate? Why is, um, a scientist on Joe Rogan any more or less accurate than another scientist not on Joe Rogan? Who defines who is accurate and who is not? Well, apparently the White House now, and apparently Joni Mitchell, and apparently Neil Young. No! No, they don't define that. They don't. This is wrong, and if we do not stand up for this, the world is going to shit pretty fucking quick. Now, it kind of already has. Inflation is really high. Interest rates are going up, finally. Taxes are going crazy. In the UK, the UK government just wrote off £38.7 billion in wasted money in PPE. Nearly £5 billion in similar COVID loans, and also they spent nearly £5 billion on a track and trace app that didn't work, probably. That is £9— that's £18 billion they've fricking wasted. And who's gonna pay for that? You are, and I am. So we're gonna pay more tax. We'll pay more tax and be happy. We can do nothing about it. Oh, oh, and by the way, you can't say what you think, but you're going to get taxed anyway. Bend over, pull your pants down, and don't argue, and look over there and receive. This is what this is. The freaking White House are commenting on it. Like, the thing is, up until now it's been private. It's been Joni Mitchell and Neil Young and privately discussed. I mean, now the government has stepped in. Okay, um, so apparently the White House want every platform to continue to do more to call out misinformation and disinformation. Well, what's misinformation and disinformation? Because all I see right now on the internet and all the people against Joe Rogan and Spotify is they don't know what the facts are. They don't know what information versus misinformation is. So what they're saying is, well, what I believe that I listen to on a scientist on BBC, I believe that's information, and I believe that Joe Rogan is misinformation. Well, that's bullshit. They don't know anything. We have to have— we have to encourage discussion and debate from both sides, from mainstream and from extreme. Although extreme isn't actually necessarily extreme anymore, it's just not mainstream. Um, I like the White House are using misinformation and disinformation as a weapon now, and all these people who are trying to get rid of Joe Rogan and levering Spotify. Spotify's market cap went down $2 billion in 2 days, $4 billion in not so many days. That's not freaking fair on them. Poor Daniel Ek, just trying to run a company, you know. Surely we're all entitled to express our opinion, and Spotify have even said they're going to do disclaimers on opinion that are contro— controversial, like lockdowns. By the way, I can't even say that word because I get cancelled. I actually do. And now the White House, um, we want every platform to continue doing more to call out misinformation and disinformation while also uplifting accurate information. Spotify, you need to do more. Subtext, get rid of Joe Rogan because they've already put in disclaimers and they've already published their policy, their content policy. So Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, even Harry and Meghan waded in and went, oh, we are concerned. They got paid $18 million, then did one podcast episode. What right have they got to put pressure on Spotify? I've done 1,000 episodes. I'm not going to Spotify going, I've done 1,000 episodes, get rid of Joe Rogan or me. No, Joe Rogan's allowed his opinion. So is a mainstream scientist, so is a politician, so someone in government, so is David Icke. You're all allowed your opinion, and we must discuss and share and challenge each other and challenge our own ideals. And facts take time. This is the thing, everyone thinks they've got the facts now. No, often we're just doing tests. Let's be honest, the vaccine, it's a test. It's not a fact what the vaccine does or doesn't do. It's a test, in my opinion. And I'm allowed that opinion, and you're allowed to challenge that opinion, and you can't cancel me for that opinion, and I can't cancel you for that opinion. And if that's where we go, then the world is fucked. So India Arie, the singer, wants her back catalogue removed. "I've decided to pull my music and podcast from Spotify. Neil Young opened a door that I must walk through." I said this. I said Neil Young is the thin end of the wedge, because if he leverages Spotifly— Spotifly? They might have to rebrand now. Spotifly! If he leverages Spotify and even one episode of Joe Rogan gets canceled, then everyone else is going to come through that open door. Why is that fair? It's not. It's leverage. It's assuming that they know facts and information and accusing him of lies and disinformation. People are saying he's spreading lies. People are saying that, you know, he's causing deaths. Wow. However, I find Joe Rogan problematic for other reasons than his overviews. Well, it's her right to leave. Just don't threaten or blackmail or jump on bandwagons. Just leave. Um, Donald Trump's niece Mary Trump, she's leaving. I hope it will be part of a growing avalanche, i.e., everyone else come and leave now. Roxanne Gray's left. Graham Nash stood with his bandmate Neil Young, having heard the COVID disinformation spread by Joe Rogan on Spotify. Well, Joe Rogan's interviewing people, so Joe Rogan's not spreading it, he's interviewing people. And of course then he's having a discussion, so if he is spreading anything, it's only partially. And if he is spreading something, it's his opinion. And are you not allowed to spread your opinion? You must share this, everyone. You must. This just got way, way more serious. Way more serious. Now, I saw an interesting, um, comment which I actually agree with. Um, only the weak and those holding on to dear life for power and control want censorship. Now I added the last bit, but I think that's really— that's my opinion, is that that's true. And you cannot claim that's misinformation. If you want to disagree, you're allowed to, but don't use language as a weapon on me. But it's only the weak and those holding on for dear life to power and control that want censorship. Because the strong, the open-minded, the ones that want to discuss all sides of a debate, the ones that have good self-worth, the ones that don't have ulterior motives, why would they want to censor anything? I've never censored anyone. I'll block a hater or, you know, an abuser. Wow. And then the White House rep said this: look at the facts. Well, what are the facts? So for the White House rep to say look at the facts, it's like check your facts, it's like fake news. These are just freaking weapons now. They don't actually mean anything. Looking at the facts doesn't mean anything. It means nothing. It means I am bigger than you, I am more powerful than you, and I want to be heard and I don't want you to be heard. That's what 'look at the facts' means, or 'check the facts,' or misinformation, or disinformation. These words are now weapons, and you need to fight against these weapons, because if you don't, there's going to be thousands of people that come out and want to cancel Joe Rogan. And then who else are they going to want to cancel? Oh, you said something I don't like today. You're cancelled. That must not happen. Now, we must preserve the podcast. This is absolutely vital because, um, I went live on Instagram, I wrote the P word in the title, pandemic, and my room got shadowed, and now I'm getting way less lives than I used to. I can't say for a fact, but it was— my lives are way lower than they used to be now. And I think it's because I wrote that one word. I went live on Clubhouse, by the way, I went live on Instagram and Clubhouse at the same time. I wrote the P word in the title, pandemic, and both of those lives and those rooms got shadowbanned, which means they just got no reach. And my lives now are not getting anywhere near the same reach on Instagram. All I did was wrote the P word. If that's not censorship, I don't know what is. We've got to fight against that. So on TikTok or Instagram or even Facebook, Facebook are a lot better, I have to say. You know, a lot of people bitch and moan about Facebook. But I find them better. You know, I got a 1-week ban on YouTube because my guest said, "Covid has been bad for small business." That's freaking true! Or hard. That's even more true. And he's allowed to have that opinion, but that— many small businesses have been really hurt by it. Many big ones have too. Who would argue that that's not true? Yeah, I got a week ban from YouTube for that. So the only— podcasting is like the endangered species, because only now on a podcast can you say the C-word, the V-word, and the L-word and the P-word. And only can you share your full opinion and discuss and debate without having to edit it in half or get canceled or shadowbanned. So this is why we must protect Spotify and Joe Rogan. You might not like Spotify and how they treat their artists. You might not like Joe Rogan and his content. This is not what this fight is about. This fight is about protecting podcasts and freedom of speech and not giving control to anyone and everyone. And anyone and everyone will be people with power and people in government, because that's who you're going to give your control to if you don't fight for it. So hit the share button. The White House have waded in. The White House are starting to lay their penis on the table. Oh, look, we have a rather large one, larger than thou. Look at that. I'm not gonna slap it around your face yet, but I've just got it out. Look at that, rather big, isn't it? That could do some damage to you. Yeah, I need to get that looked at. We have to stand up for this. You have to share the— this video, I believe. And I know I've asked you 4 times, so why haven't you? So do it. Now, podcasting is the only unadulterated platform now, give or take a couple of disruptive or new or, you know, dark web of the internet ones. So this is why we must fight and stand up for Spotify and Joe Rogan and people like them. And, you know, I have interviewed many people who are entrepreneurs who believe in the capital system. But I also wanted to interview David Icke because I wanted to see someone who didn't believe in the political or capital system. What's wrong with looking at both sides of the equation? But now you can't look at another side. But the thing is, if everyone's extreme left and extreme right, then you can't look at any side. So we must protect the podcast because it's an endangered species and there's a poacher about to shoot the last one. And this is why I also encourage you to make sure you're listening to my podcast, Disruptors. So, um, in light of what's going on in the world, I've actually changed my podcast from Disruptive Entrepreneur to Disruptors because for 6 years on my podcast with nearly 1,000 episodes, I've been helping start and scale up entrepreneurs, get better financial education and knowledge. And with all this craziness in the world and this canceling and this, you know, lockdowns and these massive increases in taxation and inflation, I felt it was my responsibility of someone with somewhat of an influence to go wider and talk about all these big important discussions, debates, and decisions. That's why you hear me fighting for freedom of speech as an individual creator who wants freedom of speech, but as someone who wants freedom of speech for all of you. You know, we don't like it when people disagree with us, and we don't like it when people challenge us, but it's vital. And actually, if I— if we didn't have that, we'd just become cocky, complacent, and arrogant. And that is, I think, where we are heading with many creators and musicians and governments. So if you go to robmoore.com/pod, that is now the only place on the internet where you can find unedited, uncensored content of mine from disruptive guests. Like David Icke video, had to pull it down on YouTube. It's only now on my podcast Disruptors. Interview with Peter Schiff, who's been on Joe Rogan 4 times, had to pull it down off YouTube. It's only now on Disruptors. This is the world we're living in right now, and we must preserve that because then there's nothing left. So on the thank you page at robmoore.com/pod, you'll see you can just hit the button to subscribe on iTunes or subscribe on Stitcher, or you can subscribe on Spotify or wherever you want. It's called Disruptors. I'm 1,000 episodes in. This month I was celebrating my 1,000-episode 6-year anniversary. That's why you'll see at robmoore.com/pod there's quite a lot of gifts there. There, if you want to scale your social media, 10x your following, if you want to monetize social media 21 different ways, if you want to get outsourcers and VAs and social media managers, there's a load of great practical tactical gifts for entrepreneurs and starting scale-ups. And creators at robmoore.com/pod. So it feels really sad that on that anniversary I have to talk about these things where our freedom is being impinged and threatened, but it's also important that we change the narrative to protecting the free speech of our creators, not just for you, but for everyone So robmoore.com/pod is the only place now where many of my YouTube videos now, many of my content across all social, I'm gonna have to edit in half. I literally can't. I can't even say the C word, the V word, the L word, or the P word on YouTube or Instagram or Facebook or TikTok anymore. The world's a fucked up place then. What if I think there's a pandemic of misinformation? So I actually do think right now the word pandemic is more relevant to a pandemic of fear, a pandemic of language used as a weapon, like facts and check your facts and fake news and misinformation and disinformation, but I can't write that on social media without getting shadowbanned. Yeah, right. Hit the share button, do it now. Quick summary: what I was scared of has happened. You should be afraid, you should be very afraid, and you should fight this. The White House have waded in. Now, all they've done at the moment is shown the size of their willy. They haven't started using it and slapping people with it, but that's enough sometimes, isn't it? Just show your gun, that's all you need. So, um, the press secretary has said that Spotify need to do more, even though they're putting a disclaimer on Joe Rogan now and other shows, and they've, um, published their content policy. What more do they need to do? Do they need to sit through every single episode that they ever publish? What about if a singer sings in a song? Would it not have been more cool? Would it not have got a better result if Neil Young wrote a song about it? But if podcasts misinforming about COVID have to be censored, then so do song lyrics. So do when comedians use the word. What are you gonna do? What? You know, Aaron has said go on Rumble. I hear you, there are other sites you can go. No, don't just put your tail between your legs and go on Rumble and not go on YouTube and not go on podcasts and not go on social media. Go on social media and get people to talk about it and get people to share it and get more people involved, because we the people have a say. We the people put these people in government. Yeah. So let me know what you think in the comments. Hit the share button. Make sure you go, um, right now to robmoore.com/pod because on the thank you page, that's the only place now when you can gain access to my fully uncensored content where I'm interviewing very disruptive people. And people— I've interviewed politicians, um, you know, who are sort of in the middle of this. Um, I've interviewed, uh, billionaires who, you know, have got a controllable view of this. Um, I've interviewed, well, some very controversial people. I now can't publish that on social media, it can only be on my Disruptors Podcast. So loads of people are now— I knew this would happen, by the way. This was never about Joe Rogan and Neil Young, never. This was about Spotify and Joe Rogan against everyone who disagreed with Spotify and Joe Rogan. This is what it was about. And as soon as one person is canceled, one episode, or government intervention— royalty and government intervening— then I don't even want to think where we go. I'm going to leave you with this quote: it's only the weak and those holding on for dear life to power and control that want censorship. Hit the share button. Go to robmoore.com/pod. Get my gifts where I'm supposed to actually be celebrating. On the thank you page, subscribe to Disruptors on any channel that you want to be on. Get all of my uncensored content. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Let's discuss this. And you must take a stance, I believe. Thanks for tuning in. Love you all. And if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
