These 5 Books Made Me a Millionaire

These 5 books I have right here, I would credit as making me more than $250 million in sales. Now, I read these 17 years ago, so they are all absolute classics. I've actually not ever revealed the best classic books that I read that got me on the path to become a A Millionaire Before Age 31, starting at age 27. Deca Millionaire, age 35. I'm 45 now and I've done over a quarter of a billion in sales. Actually, none of these are sales books, which I think is very relevant. I also have a bonus one over here. So the first one, which is a bit of an underground one, is what would Arnie do. I don't know if you know this, but if you want to get rich, the best and quickest way to get rich is to find rich people and learn from them in your niche, or generally in business and money. They are successful. Also, if you want to be successful, you don't just learn from people who've been successful at one thing. You learn from people who've been successful at many things. And you don't just learn from people who've been successful for 3 years, you learn from people who've been successful for 30 years. And Arnold Schwarzenegger has been successful in many disciplines over many decades. So if I'm ever a bit stuck, it's like I have Arnold Schwarzenegger here as my mentor. What would Arnie do? Stay continuously hungry. You just open the page. Okay, so that's the first one. This second one is also quite an underground book. It's, um, actually probably the person I'd credit as teaching me the most about life, and I'm very grateful to say, you know, has mentored me. And you know, the personal development industry is great, but happy-clappy positivity can be really damaging. And it's called The Values Factor. By Dr. John Demartini. Now, this book teaches you that everything in your life comes from your highest values. And if you want to be— have an area of success in your life, you must make it a high value. If you want to influence other people, you must understand their values. And everything we do and chase in our lives are linked to our highest values. And so when I discovered that money was nowhere near high enough on my values and I went through the exercises to move it up my values, all of a sudden my money started, uh, going up in value. Okay, yes, the book titles come up in reverse. I need to change the mirroring on the phone. I'm not a techie, but hey, I'm telling you them. Okay, so the third book that I credit with making me many tens of millions. Again, I haven't yet given you a book about money. I've got a couple coming. I've got 3 coming, by the way, because there's much more to money than just the money element. There's the what's important to you element. There's your communication, your influence. And on that note, this is an absolute classic: How to Win Friends and Influence People. So this taught me the main things that are actually quite simple that most people don't do that can influence and influence your boss and influence yourself, influence your family and friends around you. You know, whether it's making them feel important or allowing them to talk. And actually, if you look at most people you know, they do the opposite of How to Win Friends and Influence People. But People buy from people and money comes through people. So if you think about it, it's kind of logical that if you're very good with people, you're going to be very good with business. And, um, you know, when I was a bit ignorant, um, and a bit like I thought I was right and had a chip on my shoulder, this book was a bit of a shocking revelation to me that I was not good with people and I needed to completely reverse what I was doing. You know how most people are waiting to talk, or most people are talking more than listening? That's a great book. These are classics, absolute classics. These should be taught in all schools. And I credit these as— I can't say they exactly made me a quarter of a billion, but they are— these are the seminal classics. For me. So I'm thank— great, very grateful to these authors. Okay, so anyone who has learned about money has studied this classic, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, and one of the most influential bestsellers of all time. It taught me about the concept of having a mastermind, of using your imagination and visualization, um, to pursue wealth. It studies some of the richest people that ever lived, um, you know, people like, um, Andrew Carnegie, I believe. And this is nearly 100 years old, and it's still as good today as it was, um, when it was written. And, um, the concept of standing on the shoulders of financial giants and leveraging the traits of the greats and having this group of advisors. Your network is your net worth. This all came from Think and Grow Rich. Okay, now this one, most people have not read this. This one's a bit underground, but it's bloody good, and it's called How to Be a Billionaire by Martin Fridson. I actually interviewed Martin Fridson on my show Disruptors, and this is like a bit, a bit more of a a brutal, um, like, insider look of how billionaires create monopolies and control the world. When I first read it, I thought, wow, these are secrets most people don't know. How's he getting away with writing this? I also thought, hmm, some of these seem like on the edge of ethical, moral, and legal. What I since did, because I read this again about 17 years ago, is I removed my moral judgments, and then I simply thought, well, how can I learn from the billionaires and do what they do? But maybe create a legal and ethical monopoly, or, or do what they do, which seems a bit black hat, but do it in a more moral, ethical way. And actually, if you read my book Money Matrix, I take what the billionaires do and what the central banks do, I teach you how they do it, then we remove the judgment of morality and values because they're just powerful humans, and then I teach you how to do the same in your world, but you do it with your own morals and Ethics.
