This is a $40bn OUTRAGE š¤¬

Rob Moore calls Shell's £40 billion 2022 profit a moral outrage, arguing the UK government should tax mega-corporations and the ultra-wealthy instead of burdening working people. He's running a £7,000 giveaway in his Telegram community to mark his podcast's seventh anniversary.

This is a $40 billion outrage. In my opinion, this is one of the worst things going on in the world right now. It's a scandal, it's an outrage, it's really unfair, and actually it puts a lot of other, um, well-meaning successful people and companies, um, it makes a mockery of it completely. So I don't know if you've just seen the announcement, but, um, an energy firm has made their highest profits in their 115-year history. I wonder if you can guess what the firm is. Let me know in the comments if you can guess. You might find them on the beach. I have no problem, no problem with a firm making good profits as long as they're doing good things and it's fair. But for an oil and gas giant to make Ā£40 billion in profit when most people can't afford to heat their house, when our energy prices have doubled and tripled and our taxes are going up and our bills are going up and our cost of living is going up, It's a fucking outrage. It's not Exxon, although I imagine they're probably making record profits. It's not BP, though I imagine they're making record profits. It's actually Shell, and they made $40 billion, the highest profit they have made in their 115-year history, double the profits um, oh, double last year's profits. Yeah, that will be Shell. That will be a fucking outrage. So in the UK, our taxes are going up and up, our cost of living is going up and up, our energy bills are going up and up, and right there in front of them, the government have the power to make a windfall tax. Now look, I don't like restriction on growth. I am probably a more purist free market capitalist if you had to label me, though we've not seen that in God knows how long. We're basically in a socialist communist regime dressed up as something else. So I, I think competition is good. I think you let people grow, you don't penalize them for growth, generally speaking. But when a company makes record profits when most normal people can't afford to live and the government doesn't do anything about it and it taxes those that can't afford to live even more, that's fucking wrong. Who's getting paid off? Which party? Which campaign? Which donations are going on? Because this is completely wrong, it has to be. Because if there is, what, $40 billion in profit, why can't $5 billion of that go back into the people who are on the breadline? The people who can't afford to heat their house, who have to choose between heating and eating. Why can't just a small amount of that be distributed? Here's the thing, right, a lot of people, they're like, "Ah, tax the rich." No. Do you know over $70 grand is apparently rich? It's not, but that's what they say. You should not be taxing the small business owners more. You should not be taxing the entrepreneurs more. The employers, the entrepreneurs, the small business owners who make up most of the economy, you should be taxing them less. But the billionaires, the massive corporations, the big huge companies, the oil tycoons, you should charge them more. Exactly, don't tax the rich, tax the super rich and the mega rich. Now here's the fucking joke about it. If they only taxed Shell, a windfall tax, because look, if there's really good value, you know, if Shell are offering a good service and prices are fair, make a fair profit, no windfall tax required. But when our energy bills have doubled and tripled and our cost of living has, what, probably gone down 30% relatively in 3 years, how is it right that they're allowed to make Ā£40 billion? Get Ā£5 billion of that cascaded down into the people who need it the most. I mean, for fuck's sake. Fake. It's just basic common sense. It beggars belief, and it's fucking wrong. It's really wrong. And this makes successful people look bad, because a lot of successful people, they give back, they donate to charity, they employ lots of people. An outrageous world record, 115-year profits, while everybody else can't afford to heat their house. And you know what, I don't even blame Shell. I don't blame inflation, I don't blame Shell, I blame the government. Because it's the government's responsibility to govern, and all the government seem to do is tax the working class, the poor, and the lower-level rich. They tax us 60, 70, 75%. But the billionaires, the oligarchs, the tycoons, and the massive corporations, they seem to charge them virtually nothing. You only have to charge all the big massive corporations 5% more tax. Oh, and by the way, what I mean by this is you actually don't have to charge them any more tax, you have to claim more tax. So corporation tax went from 19% to 25%. Now small business owners and entrepreneurs will be paying 19% and then 25%. All these big companies will be paying naught percent. Now look, I actually do think big firms, they pay millions or billions in VAT. They employ hundreds of thousands of people. So I'm not one of these people that says, oh, tax the rich, tax all the companies, they pay no tax. They pay a lot of tax, but it's the corporation tax they're getting away with. And I see no harm in Shell giveā of their Ā£40 billion, Shell can give Ā£10 billion of that or Ā£5 billion of that and cascade that down and control the oil prices. It's really wrong and it makes our government look like total Muppets. How can this be going on? I wonder who donated to their campaigns. I wonder why they're not, um, oh well, we can't do the windfall tax, you know, because it will stunt growth. There is no growth. They don't know how to create growth because what they're doing is they're cannibalizing their own economy. Oh, Everyone who creates the economy and makes the money and employs the people, you know, those 5 million small businesses, let's cut off their arms and legs. Yeah, let's do that. Let's charge them even more in tax. Now Bruce here has said it's all by design. This is fucking wrong. So I ask you to share this. I might get in trouble ranting about this. Hopefully a couple of security guards from Shell don't come knocking on my door. I don'tā do not believe they shouldn't make a profit. I do not believe they shouldn't make a fair profit. I do not believe they should be overly regulated. Regulated, yes, not overly regulated. But world record 115-year profits, Ā£40 billion in tax, that's wrong. And it's not even their fault, it's the government's fault. They're not controlling the energy prices, the energy caps. Clearly these big corporations have got them under massive control. Why should our tax just have gone up? So our tax just went up. I don't know if you saw the latest budget, but the taxes went up and the spending went down. Why couldn't they have just windfall taxed all the big oil and gas and energy companies? They could have generated Ā£50 billion just like that, and you and I normal people would have been better off. Oh no, oh no, there's some dodgy shit going on here. Because surely, what's a windfall tax for? When companies make windfall profits. And this is a windfall, it's a world record, $40 billion. Windfall profits at the expense of humanity, but no windfall tax. It's wrong. Look, all I can say is hit the share button. And if you think it's wrong too, then stand up and speak out, or just share my video and let me speak out. It's just wrong. It's just plain wrong. I don't think Rishi follows my videos. I don't think the Chancellor really cares. Anyway, look, I want to be the bringer of good news as well as bad. I want to be positive as well as angry. So I am actually giving away Ā£7,000 inā well, it starts in less than 24 hours. So, um, I gave away Ā£10,000, Ā£15,000, and a Mercedes in the last couple of months. And in 2023, I committed to myself it's going to be one of my biggest years ever of giving. You know, I've givenā some years I've given hundreds of thousands away to charities and organizations, and I wanted to makeā that was one of my goals. I wanted to be this the year of giving for me as well. So I have a Telegram group that I set up, got 8,500 members nearly in there, and every week I give you stuff. I give you bonuses, courses, resources, masterclasses. I give you chances to win Ā£250, Ā£7,000, Ā£10,000, Ā£15,000, you name And over this weekend, I'm giving away Ā£15,000. And not justā you'll get a chance this weekend to win Ā£7,000. Now, by the way, people say, well, Rob, why are you doing that? What's the catch? There's always a catch. Um, well, I'm just hoping to attract, um, many new listeners to my podcast and attract many people into my new Telegram group because Otherwise I'd have to spend that on marketing to find those people, so that's why I'm doing it. But also my podcast turns 7 tomorrow, nearly 900 episodes. So look, I wanted to celebrate, give back, um, so I've just put the link in the comments. And if you want to actually go and type out the link because you can't see the link, people sometimes say, Rob, where's the link? It's tiny.cc/7grand, and it's the number 7. Tiny.cc/7grand. It's the number 7 if you want to type it in, or if you want to click a link, I've put them in the comments. Now, um, Dan has said, where do you find my podcast? Well, if you join the Telegram group, Dan, um, actually I ask you to listen to an episodeā well, I actually just ask you to, um, click a link to subscribe to my podcast as part of the 7 grand giveaway. So already in the Telegram group is his instructions on what to do and when to do it, but there'll be no purchase necessary. Don't have to have bought anything off me in the past, um, anyone can apply. Um, it's fair and a merit-based chance to win 7 grand, i.e., I'll give you a little bit of a clue. I'm going to give you access to some great content on our 7th anniversary, and I'm going to ask you a question about that content, and if you're quick and you are drawn, you will win, and you'll win 7 grand. So let's spread a bit of good news instead of all this shit. But unfortunately, this shit needs to be spoken about. So if you could share this for the good news, which is come and join my Telegram group, uh, and come and win the 7 grand, and come and get some great content, and come and celebrate the 7-year anniversary with me, and come and find my podcasts where I interview, um, you know, some really disruptive and famous people. Um, and share this if you agree with me that 40 billionā well, 39.9 billion, let's not exaggerateā 39.9 billion in profits in 2022 from Shell, um, doubling last year's profits, and it's their highest profit in 115-year history. Not got a problem with Shell, got a problem with the government not properly regulating our nation, not properly redistributing money, which is one of the points of the government, to control and regulate the economy, to make it fair. And that's not fair. That is not fair when everyone's struggling. If you agree with me, hit the share button. And then, um, if you're pissed off like me with that, hit the share button. And if you want to be in it to win it, as Aidy said thereā Aidy's just sharedā um, join my Telegram group and you could win 7 grand, and you can get some great content, and you can become part of my community. Um, I'll see you there. I'll put the link in the comments one more time for you. And if you just want to type it outā actually, I can't, so you're gonna have to type it out. It's tiny.cc/7grand. It's the number 7 grand. Tiny.cc/7grand. See you in the Telegram group. Look, government, come on, sort your shit out. Stop robbing the poor and the working class and even the, um, supposed rich but actually just new rich or barely rich rich. Because you're raping us. You know, I haven't been rich my whole life. I became rich by being an entrepreneur. And so therefore I'm more new rich than generational wealth rich. I'm not a billionaire. And I can't get out of all the taxes that the billionaires can. I don't blame the billionaires because you'd get out of your taxes if you could, and I would. How can you? It's the regulators, it's the government. They're overregulating on the working class end and underregulating on the billionaire and the super rich and the massive corporations. And it justā why? Like, all these governments are trillions in debt. The UK is Ā£3.1 trillion in debt. America is $31 trillion in debt, about to hit its debt ceiling. Like, you can't really put taxes up that much more in the UK without a revolution. So surely you just go, all right, well, if we got 5% more tax out of all the billionaires and the massive companies, let's just keep, you know, let's not penalize them, but let's just get a little bit out of them. Just 5%, 5% out of all the billionaires and all the big companies, trillions, immediate debt repaid, immediate economy solved. It's just the obvious answer, isn't it? But there must be some shit going on behind the scenes which is stopping it. And I don't know what that is, and I don't want to get canceled for saying it. Thanks for tuning in. I'll see you in my Telegram group. Links are in the comments.
