This is the Biggest Waste of Money…⛔️

In this solo YouTube monologue, Rob Moore argues that holidays represent the single biggest waste of money for most people, especially in the post‑lockdown UK where a weak pound and soaring travel costs make vacations prohibitively expensive. He lists multiple downsides: high flight and accommodation prices, health impacts (weight gain, stress, alcohol), debt from credit‑card bills, and the opportunity cost of not investing the funds. Moore contrasts holidays with other expenditures like cars, taxes, and housing, claiming that while those have utility or long‑term value, holidays merely drain capital. He proposes redirecting the typical £5‑10k annual holiday budget into asset‑building avenues such as buy‑to‑let property, starting or scaling a business, or creating digital assets that generate recurring passive income. Once such income streams are established, the same money can fund “free” holidays or supercars without depleting capital. Moore also suggests tax‑efficient travel by combining conferences or business events with leisure, and teases hacks for free holidays and cars. Throughout, he repeatedly urges viewers to join his paid educational community, Rob.team, positioning it as a low‑cost platform for learning financial education, entrepreneurship, and asset creation. The video ends with engagement prompts—asking viewers to comment, share, and debate whether holidays are truly wasteful.

This is the biggest waste of money ever. Most people are going to disagree with me on this. No one tells you this, but what I'm about to share with you, I believe, is possibly the biggest waste of money ever. It's definitely the thing that will hold you back the longest. From long-term wealth, financial freedom, even just having a half-decent quality of life. Now, I'm not going to say that it's cars. You can spend a lot of money on cars, but cars have some utility, and some people, it's their passion. I'm not even going to say tax. I think many of you might have thought that I would say tax. At least with tax, you hopefully contribute to your society. And you know, as much as I've moaned a bit about the government and tax, we have a pretty good legal system. And in the UK, we have a pretty well, um, a matured society, a safe society. So I wonder if you can guess in the comments what I'm going to say is the biggest waste of money ever. That will hold you back for decades from being wealthy. And by the way, the cost of this has gone up an absolute mile since the lockdown. The biggest single waste of money is holidays. Sorry, not sorry. Here's why. Number 1, you do not need to fly to the other side of the world to relax. You can relax exactly where you are right now. Number 2, flights and travel have gone up an absolute bomb. Accommodation and staying in hotels or Airbnbs has gone up an absolute bomb. A bomb. Then you've got the fact that you often come back with a lot less money. You probably put on weight. You definitely drunk too much, and you're probably not even that rested. So why do you go on holiday? Well, here's the thing. Most people go on holiday to run away from their life, to escape from their life. I don't need to escape from my life. I, I am pretty well known. Um, I've got some good comments coming in here, and I'm going to read these comments. Of course, this is subjective, Dan. This is, you know, everyone's entitled to my opinion. But here's the thing, no one tells you this, and this is why I'm telling you this, because it will cost you thousands of pounds now for a short break. It could cost you more than £10,000 for a week or more break. That might be all of your disposable income in that one year. Imagine investing every year £10,000 or £15,000 or £20,000 for a compounded return, you could make a huge amount of money over the next 10, 15, or 20 years. Like, literally, holidays are keeping everyone from being wealthy because most people can't spare £10,000 or £15,000 a year, but you probably need that to become a millionaire in the next 15 or 20 years for investments. But people are spending that on their holidays. So I'm gonna list all the reasons. Matt has said, "Don't tell our wives that." Stella has said, "House is the biggest waste of money." Absolutely not. Here's the thing. Houses double every 10 to 15 years. They give you an oasis of calm and somewhere to build a family and a life. Yet when you go on holiday, you're escaping from that life. You build that life in a house, but most people are going on holidays to escape their life. Why don't you have a holiday at home? Why don't you have a holiday in the UK? Or the house that you, you know, the country that you live in. Katie has said traveling is, you know, the biggest waste of money. I actually do agree. I think that you can pay now thousands for flights, thousands for accommodation. You probably come back less healthy. Alright, you might be rested, but you can rest at home. You probably drink too much, you probably eat too much, and then you have a massive credit card bill, and that credit card bill can last you the year. Now I'm not gonna say some of the things some of you have said is a waste of money, like renting, or men, or women, or Rob.team. Rob.team, Stevie, is an investment in yourself. So, right, now like I said, no one tells you this, but if you wanna be an entrepreneur, if you wanna start or scale a business, if you wanna make extra income streams, you have to make some short-term sacrifices. And the money that you spend on a holiday, Like, a crappy holiday now is going to cost you in the low thousands or the mid-thousands. A good holiday is going to cost you 5 figures, $10,000 or more. That's a huge amount of money. Imagine putting that into real estate every year for the next 20 years. Imagine putting that into starting your own business or scaling your own business. Imagine the return on investment. Now, some people who say, you know, you need to get away to relax and recover and I get all that, but we're having a heatwave in the UK, so just stay in the UK and do it. So here are my reasons why I really believe that holidays are a huge waste of money, the biggest waste of money. Number 1, the pound is really weak right now, so all holidays are much more expensive. Reason number 1, travel's gone through the roof, accommodation has gone through the roof, you probably put on weight, you probably drink too much. It's probably not as good as you'd hoped. It's probably quite stressful. Like, if you take the kids on the plane, that's super stressful. You come back and you're probably paying the credit card bill off for the next 6 to 12 months. They're all the reasons why I believe the single biggest waste of money, probably— look, I mean, of course addictions, you know, like gambling or alcoholism or drugs, that's probably, you know, a bigger waste of money, but at least you enjoy yourself. No, that is a bigger waste of money. But one of the biggest wastes of money that people don't tell you about is holidays. And look, here's the thing. If you want to make money, be successful, start a business, scale a business, if you want recurring income, passive income, and if you want to build assets, here's what you want to do. By the way, I'm never saying take holidays. I'm just saying that they're a waste of money. So because you can get the same effect in the UK in the heatwave and not spending £5,000 or £10,000. But here's what you do. Here's a little trick. Give me a yes in the comments if you'd like a little hack and a little trick. How to buy a supercar, no money down. How to get free holidays. Give me a yes if you'd like to know the answer to this. So what you're going to do is you're going to save and invest all that money that you would have spent on holidays for maybe the next 3 years. Because most people, they probably want 2 holidays a year. Some people have more. So let's say the average holiday is £5,000. It's probably more. So every year you're saving £10,000 to £15,000 that you're not going on holidays. You're going to invest that money into property. You're going to leverage up with the bank's money. And you're going to build a few buy-to-lets, or you're going to invest that money into starting a business. And then what you're going to do is you're going to make the recurring income from the business, maybe a subscription model or a digital asset, and/or from the real estate, and then you're going to use the passive recurring income to pay for your holidays, to pay for your travel, to pay for your accommodation, to pay for your Airbnbs, to pay for your flights. So invest your cash into assets Make those assets produce recurring and passive income, and then use the recurring and passive income to pay the lease on your supercars, to pay for your holidays, so that essentially they become free, or at least from passive income, not earned income, not capital, not lumps of money. What do you think about that? And what do you think to me saying that holidays are the biggest waste of money? If you agree, hit the share button. If you don't agree, hit the share button. And if you don't agree, let me know what you think is a bigger waste of money than a holiday. Now most people won't tell you this because it's unpopular. 'Oh, look at Rob, Mr. Grumpy, saying never go on holiday.' No, did I say never go on holiday? No, we all waste money on things, let's be honest. We'll spend money on things that make us look good and feel good, and we justify it. But I'm just saying, wait until you've got assets that produce recurring income, and then holiday on the recurring and passive income instead of wasting all of your capital. Because if you spend your capital on holidays, you can't invest in assets, and then you don't get recurring income. And you can go on holiday if you can afford it, and you can't if you can't. Right now, holidays are so much more expensive and probably a bit of a letdown, because let's be honest, the service across the world is a lot worse now. So you kind of lost— you've lost on inflation, you've lost on the soaring cost of holidays, you've lost probably on the reduction in the quality and the service. You've also lost on the weak pound. So you've lost on all of this. And the thing is, you do need to make some short-term sacrifices if you want recurring income, passive income, financial freedom. Here's a good thing to do, which is what— let's have a look— Susan's been doing, and I do this. What you can do is go on a conference or a course and have that as a business expense, and then you might be able to travel by merging it with business so you can offset the cost. Now obviously a personal holiday you can't offset through a business, but a conference or a course or a business event you can, and go somewhere nice to do those, and then basically you get the tax relief. But you need to learn how to do this. You need a good accountant who can show you how to do this, and you need to be an entrepreneur. And you can learn all of this on rob.team. So just open up a new page on the internet, do it now, type R-O-B team, a digital financial platform accessible anywhere in the world, less than a large cup of coffee, one-third of the price of Netflix. You can cancel anytime with no contract, and you will learn contrarian entrepreneurial, um, ways to start a business and scale a business, to get better financial education and knowledge, and to make, manage, and master money. Stuff they won't teach you in school, stuff the masses will disagree with. Many people will be on here disagreeing with spending money on holidays even though that puts them in most of their debt through the year and they never get out of the debt trap. Bit of sacrifice now. You should be spending recurring and passive income from assets on holidays and cars, not lumps of capital that you can never get back. So if you want to learn how to do all this and be in a community of like-minded people like this, and masterclasses and courses and online events and ask-me-anything lives, go and join Rob.team by typing R-O-B team in a new window right now. Go do it quickly. I'll give you a few seconds to do that while I do a quick summary. So I think the biggest waste of money is holidays. 1, the pound is really weak. 2, flights have gone up crazy. 3, accommodation has gone up crazy. 4, you're probably getting into debt now, um, spending money on holidays. 5, it's probably going to keep you in debt for the year. 6, you're going to have no disposable income left to invest into assets for your future. You're probably not going to enjoy it. You're probably going to eat too much. You're probably going to drink too much. You're probably going to get a bit stressed. You're probably not going to come back that relaxed, and if you do, you're probably going to come back overweight. And then you're just going to wait for the next holiday, and you're probably running away from your life. People go on holidays because they're running away from their life. Why don't you sort your life out at home? Why don't you stay somewhere nice in the UK? Why don't you just take a bit of time off and relax at home and make the best of the place that you live and the heat wave that we've got? Way cheaper. One of the biggest comedowns you can get is after a holiday. Oh, and the flights are usually delayed as well. It's a right freaking stress to travel. Don't even know why anyone bothers with holidays. Anyway, let me know what you think in the comments. Hit the share button. Let's get the discussion going. Is there anything else you think is a bigger waste of money? Can you justify holidays? Can you justify holidays as an investment? I gave you a little trick on how to do that, by the way. How to turn a holiday into an investment. But if you want to learn how to build recurring and passive income and learn how to build assets that pay you on an ongoing basis for the rest of your life so that holidays and cars come from monthly recurring income that keeps coming, as opposed to spending all your money and having none left. If you'd like to learn how to do all this, build digital assets, build physical assets, be an entrepreneur, build multiple streams of income, side hustles, go join Rob.team. There's no contract, cancel anytime, less than, less than a large coffee and one-third of the investment that you'd pay in Netflix. All right, so I'll see you in Rob.team. Just type Rob.team in a new window right now. Thanks for tuning in. Let me know what you think. And remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
