Toxic Tik Tok work Culture Exposed šÆ

In this monologue, Rob Moore (Rob.team) discusses recent reports of an aggressive, toxic work culture at TikTokās UK operation, highlighting a senior executiveās alleged antiāmaternityāleave comment and 12āhour work expectations. He expands the discussion to critique the broader āwokeā workāfromāhome and reducedāhours mindset, arguing that such attitudes undermine productivity during a costāofāliving crisis, high taxes, and geopolitical turmoil. Moore contrasts the current entitlement culture with a more demanding 1980s work ethic, urging personal responsibility, higher output, and entrepreneurship as the primary solution. He repeatedly promotes his own entrepreneur education platform, Rob.team, positioning it as an affordable alternative to traditional education and a pathway to multiple income streams that can help individuals thrive despite economic challenges.

Toxic TikTok culture exposed. So TikTok have launched a shop within the UK arm of TikTok, and there's been an exposĆ© of aggressive, toxic work culture within that company in the UK. Now, I think there's two ways to look at this, uh, and my opinion might not be as popular as some, so I'm going to tell you the latest news on aggressive and toxic work culture within TikTok, what's going on, and then maybe a different way to look at it, or at least to look at general work culture. Because let's not forget, we are in a cost of living crisis. So there's currently a study going on where firms are paying 100% of the wages for 80% of the work. Wait a minute, I thought we were in a cost of living crisis. Beggar's belief. Anyway, um, so TikTok is investigating claims of an aggressive work culture from a senior executive. Now apparently he said in a private dinner that he didn't believe in maternity leave. Now look, I believe in maternity leave. He said that under a capitalist system, he didn't believe that companies should offer maternity leave. I don't agree with that. I think that maternity leave is an important thing, as is paternity leave. So I can understand why that particular comment would piss people off. So there's more, though. Apparently, he was getting people to work 12 hours a day And this culture of toxic, aggressive work was a side of a wider culture clash between the UK work culture and China, because TikTok's actually owned by ByteDance, which is owned by a Chinese firm. So now there's been an exodus of the staff, and there's an internal investigation going on at TikTok. So TikTok spokesperson said, we're investigating alleged statements and actions to determine whether there's been a breach of company policies. On the topic of work-life balance, the spokesperson said that employees may at times need to work hours that match customer patterns. Now look, I'm now going to talk about general work culture. So, um, should there be maternity leave? Yes. Um, Should we have a good, a balanced work culture? Yes. But should we go so far the other way that there are strikes on the tube and people want to work from home? Here's the thing: people want to work from home, but they want your company to pay for them to work the dog and start their side hustle. How's that right? Why would I as an employer want to pay you to start your job to fire me so I'm left with a recruitment hole? And by the way, I've probably paid 15-20% recruitment fee to get you. That's completely wrong. So I do not agree with this lax, woke, hippie work culture. Now, if we were in prosperous times, if everything were unicorns and rainbows and roses, and we were in an economic boom. By all means, step off the gas a little, have a bit more work-life balance. Prosperous times, you know, think of your mental health and well-being and family as well. But we're notā we are not. In case people have forgotten, we had Brexit, COVID lockdowns, we had, um, we've got a war going on which is having billions from our government pumped into it even though it's not our war. We've had soaring cost of fuel, food, energy, gas, a lack of trust in the government. There's some definite manipulation going on, a massive increase in taxes. We are not in prosperous times. We need to work our way out of this, hustle our way out of this. We don't need to work 80% for 100% of the money. No, we need to work 120%. You know, if things aren't working, what do you do? You work harder. And hopefully it's only temporary, but we need to produce more, build more, work more. We need to get a higher output. But there's so many people that expect so much for so little. And, oh, let's just create a union. And, oh, let's just go on furlough. And, oh, I want to work from home. I want to do 40% of my work time for my employer, 20% of my work time walking the dog, and another 40% of my work time I want to go and shop online and start my side hustle. How is that even a thing? This is crazy. And this is what's pushing the pendulum the other way and having to force these aggressive work cultures because there was not enough finance and subsidy in lockdown for many companies that needed it. And then there was too much finance and subsidy and furlough in the public sector and for companies that didn't need it. So it's all completely backward. Anyway, let me know what you think in the comments. Like, this whole experiment, which I'm going to be fascinated to see, by the way, where many firms have bought in where you can work 80% of the hours for 100% of the money. That's like me saying, look, let's get married. And I'll marry you 80%, but I'll marry someone else 20%. What do you think? Yeah, yeah, we'll be married 80%, I'll marry someone else 20%. No, no. There was even a firm, you know, a work-from-home supporter that said they embraced people walking the dog and starting their side hustle working from home. Why should an employer pay an employee to go and start another business so they can fire them and leave them with a recruitment hole? How is that even a thing? Anyway, let me just give you the updated news real quick. TikTok is investigating claims of an aggressive work culture after a senior executive at the firm allegedly said he didn't believe in maternity leave. Maternity and paternity leave are really important, but at the same time, it's really important for the member working for the company to work for the company. You know, look, I was always taught, maybe I'm old school now, maybe I'm a granddad, but I was taught 16 years ago, always do more than you're paid to do and you will get paid more. But now we have this culture of, I wanna do half work and get paid the same or more. And if not, I'll go on strike. Yeah. How has this changed? Where's the work culture, the work ethic? Now look, in a way it's not fair. Because the government put us in this situation through COVID and lockdowns and financing wars and increasing in taxes and yada yada, and, you know, not having localized supply chains. So the government have mostly caused this. But here's the thing, I can shout and scream and you can be pissed off about the government, but they're not going to do anything. They're not going to change. They're not going to help you. So you have to take personal responsibility. So here's my attitude, and it may not be popular, but But I think someone's got to stand up and say it. If you want to do half a job or two-thirds of a job on full pay, go and work for someone else. Don't come and work for me. In fact, you should get rid of that attitude completely. If you want to work from home, great, start your own business. That's your right. I can work from home because I started my own business and I took the risk. But don't take the piss out of your employer by working from home and starting your own business. Work from home and start your own business by doing it full-time. Now, by the way, if you're one of the few people who actually work really hard from home and work better from home and are more productive from home, you should be thoroughly pissed off with all the people taking the piss, all the woke people, all the, you know, the entitled culture. You should be thoroughly pissed off with them because they're ruining your good name. And I actually do accept that some people work better from home. Some roles need concentration and not an open-plan noisy office. Some people are self-managing and motivated. Some are, and I'd love to attract those people. And if you're one of those and everyone else is taking the piss working from home, you should do a Facebook Live and you should speak up about them, in my humble opinion, because they're ruining your name. But where has this culture of work and productivity and production and outputā where has this culture gone? Yes, I started my own business. I wanted the ability to work from home, but I wasn't prepared to take the piss out of an employer and do half a job for them and half a job for me because I thought that was a piss take. So I took the risk and started my own business. And if you're gonna work from home properly, work from homeā in fact, if you want the right to work from home, you should have more output and more productivity than working in the office. 'Cause otherwise, why would your employer want that? And do you know what? There's this massive attitude, 'Uh, uh, well, I wanna do what I wanna do.' Like, people wanna get paid by an employer but not do the job the employer wants them to do. How's that right? How is that right? And I'm seeing it across the board. Not on my watch and not in my company. That's all I'm gonna say. And by the way, the quickest way we're gonna get out of COVID lockdowns, recessions, corrections and depressions, austerity, you know, cost of living crises. All of these things that are going on in the world. Riots that end up being riots. Wars. This shit is all going on. The only way out of it is productivity. Output creation, production, building stuff. What are we gonna do, meditate our way out of this crisis? Manifest our way out of this crisis? For fuck's sake! For fuck's sake. People don't want to work. Exactly, but you've got to work. People don't want to work, but they want the money. No, no, no. So look, I'm going to be old school. The great thing about the 1980s, and I was against this in the 2010s, but in the 1980s it was get up early, work harder, go to bed late. And that did create a bit of a burnout culture, and I was a bit against that. And so I was telling people in the 2010s Work hard, not smart. Life leverage. It's not about how hard you work, it's the output. But now it's swung the other frickin' way. And now it's get up later, do less, finish earlier. Fuck off, pay me. How is that in any way right? Come on. The culture of work needs to change. Now look, we can't go the other way like this senior executive in TikTok who said they don't believe in maternity leave. I wonder if that's been taken out of context. It was in a private dinner. And TikTok are investigating internally an aggressive work culture. I can't blame a company for wanting to, you know, work 12 hours a day to build shit. Because if it's a choice between my team working 12 hours a day or my company going under, I will take 12-hour day work. Sorry, I'll pay, but I'll take 12-hour days over going under. Because the government aren't going to help. The government aren't subsidising. The government aren't working with entrepreneurs. The government are doing nothing. And if we're not careful, we could be in a 10-year depression. And people are blissfully, naivelyā unions and strikes and work from home and work less, get paid more and walk the dog from home and start your side hustle but get paid by your employer and work-life balance and mental health. You know, like someone has a stressful day and they get a letter from the doctor and they're off for 3 months. The government lock us down for a virus that clearly didn't look that deadly. And then they spent tens of billions on an app that didn't frickin' work and had half your staff off when they weren't even ill. This is the country that we've created. It's fucked. Let me know what you think in the comments. Hit the share button. Oh my life. What is it the young 'uns say? FML. Fuck my life. WTF. WTAFOMG. Anyway, look, I wanna help. Because I can have a rant and I get pissed off, but then I'm always, right, what can we do about it? So what we can do about it is start a business, scale a business. What we can do about it is, um, work from home by actually working from home. What we can do about it is get multiple streams of recurring income. We can build assets. We can be useful and valuable and produce things that people want. We could turn our content into cash flow, our information into income. We couldā these are things that we can do. I'm going to shout out every day of the things that I think are going wrong in the world, and hopefully it'll make a bit of a difference. But many people don't have, um, the desire or maybe the same level of following to do that. So you leave that to me. And what I can do for you is help you, help you start a business, help you scale a business, help you get financial education and knowledge that's not taught in school. Not taught in school. Why not? Um, so I've sort of created my own school, if you like. As Ian predicted, it's rob.team. So if you'd like to join an entrepreneur's school, but instead of it costing you 50 grand a year, it costs you a fiver a month, it costs you a large coffee, and that's it. So if you'd like to join a disruptive entrepreneur's school to help you start and scale a business, get better financial education and knowledge, create multiple streams of recurring income, build digital assets, get your way out of this cost of living crisis, not just survive but thrive, go and join Rob.team now. Instead of paying Ā£50 grand a year to learn from tutors who don't even run a business, come and learn from a guy who's got 7 businesses, been doing it 16 years, done more than a quarter of a billion in revenue, written the UK's best-selling book on money, Money, got 2 of the top business podcasts in the country. I can help you. So join Rob.team. It's a fiver a month instead of Ā£50 grand a year, and you can cancel any time. So here's what you need to do. Open a new page and type in rob.team. Go do it now. I've got to go. So open a new page, type in robā Robā dot team. Come and join an entrepreneurs business school from people who've actually built businesses and made billions in reality, from people who know how to create stuff and build stuff. Learn how to start a business, scale a business. Learn how to create multiple streams of recurring income. I've got 9 different income streams. I'll teach you them all over time. But you've got to help yourself because the government aren't going to help you. So open a new page now. Type in, do it with me, Rob.team. And if you want to work from home, do more than you're paid to do, and then you'll get paid more. People want to do less but get a pay rise. Oh, my costs have gone up, I need to do less, but I want to get paid more. No, no, no. The way you get paid more is doing more. Do the job you want, not just the job you've got, and always do more than you're paid to do. Do you know what? If everyone in this country took thisā I learned this from billionairesā if everyone in this country took this attitude, number one, always do more than you're paid to do. Because then you'll get paid more. And then number 2, do the job you want, not just the job you got, and then you'll get the job you want. If everyone in this country took those 2 attitudes, we would be out of this crisis in a year or 2. We would be in prosperity and the economy would recover. Fact. And if you want to learn how to do that and to start your own business and create multiple streams of recurring income, open a new window, go intoā go do it now. But the government ain't going to save you, you got to help yourself. Thanks for tuning in, everyone. I'll see you in Rob.team. Open a new page, type in Rob.team. I'll see you there. We've got a disruptive revolutionary movement of 5,000 entrepreneurs who want to make a difference. I'd like you to join. And by the way, you can go back and get 3 years worth of content, and you can cancel anytime, and it's literally the cost of a large coffee a month instead of 50 grand a year for a university degree learning from 2 tutors who don't even have a business. I think more people need to look in the mirror and take responsibility. And remember this: if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
