In this impassioned commentary, entrepreneur Rob Moore reacts to President Joe Biden’s recent primetime address urging a ban on assault-style rifles, high‑capacity magazines, expanded background checks, and red‑flag laws. Moore highlights the staggering frequency of mass shootings in the United States, describing a recent Texas school tragedy where an 18‑year‑old used an assault rifle to kill 21 people, including 19 children. He questions why the powerful gun lobby and political institutions—Congress and the Supreme Court—prevent meaningful reform, noting the possibility that the Court may even expand gun‑rights jurisprudence. Moore invokes his mentor Dr. John Demartini’s philosophy that every downside has an upside, expressing his struggle to find any positive in such loss. Throughout, he urges viewers to comment, share their thoughts, and speak out against the ongoing violence, while acknowledging that gun‑control is not his usual content focus.

US President Joe Biden wants a full ban on assault-style rifles. If he can't get that, he's pushing for something else. Well, duh. I mean, come on, of course. To me, this is absolutely mad. That there are hundreds of mass shootings in America every year. There are literally hundreds. It's absolutely mad that a 19-year-old kid can get an assault rifle and massacre 21 people, including 19 kids. It's absolutely mad. And yet they're doing nothing about it, and the president can do nothing about it. Now I'm going to read you President Joe Biden, what he's just recently said in a primetime speech to the nation. I think it's vitally important that you share your thoughts in the comments. Why is it impossible to get a gun ban in America? Why is the gun lobby so powerful? Um, I think it's really important to discuss this. I speak to fellow American friends, they think it's absolutely crazy. Yet how many more mass shootings and murderings need to happen for things to change? Now, this isn't my usual flow of content. I'm an entrepreneur. I help people get better financial education, start and scale their businesses. But this is so important, so important that we must speak out. Imagine if you were one of the parents of one of those 19 innocent kids getting massacred, um, in that school just recently in Texas. Apparently the, um, the, the children were unrecognizable from the— how, how the assault rifle just ripped them apart, that they had to do DNA tests to identify them. Imagine if that's your child. Apparently some of the children in the class were calling the police 3, 4, 5, 6 times whispering that there's 5, 6, 8 children dead, please come and help us, and they didn't go and help for an hour. So not only— not only is it to me, maybe I'm naive here, but to me it's mad, mad that an 18-year-old kid can get an assault rifle, absolutely mad. Why are there so many gun massacres in America compared to all the other countries. Like, there was Dunblane in Scotland, I believe. There was one school shooting. Since then, the law changed and there's not been a school shooting since. Yet there's hundreds a year in America. This is crazy, crazy. We must speak up about it because it's fundamentally wrong. One of my mentors, Dr. John Demartini, and I'm going to ask him this myself, he says to me, Rob, Every downside has an upside. Every downside has an upside. I am struggling to see the upside of 19 innocent kids getting blown up unrecognizably in a school by an 18-year-old kid with an assault rifle, with police who did nothing for an hour. I'm struggling to see the upside in that, I'm afraid. How can this be right? How can this be right? And You know, they say if you're neutral and you say nothing, you're implicit. So I'm doing my bit and I'm saying something, and I believe you should say something too. So let me know what you think in the comments, and let me just give you the news. So President Joe Biden has said that the US should ban assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines to tackle the carnage of gun violence. Well, of course they freaking should. It's just common sense. He did a primetime speech to the nation from the White House and said too many everyday places in America had become killing fields. Absolutely correct. And the president is powerless to do anything about it, which is also kind of crazy. Like in Canada, the president could just say, oh, we'll have access to your bank account, thanks. We don't like the trucking protests. Yet thousands of innocent people are getting mass murdered and nothing changes. Nothing changes. Crazy. Okay, right. The U.S. president has also called for expanding federal background checks and nationwide red flag laws, which allow law enforcement to remove weapons from anyone deemed dangerous. But the prospects of the Congress passing any gun control measure looks uncertain, and the U.S. Supreme Court could instead be poised to expand Americans' gun rights. What? The U.S. Supreme Court could instead be poised to expand Americans' guns rights in a landmark case that justices are considering. This to me is madness. Um, this is not about taking away anyone's guns, said Mr. Biden. This isn't about taking away anyone's rights, said Mr. Biden. This is about protecting children. Marcus said Americans won't give up their guns because of their Constitution. I understand that. But surely this is, in, in this modern, evolved, developed world where we're more conscious and aware than ever before, surely this is de-evolution. He goes on to say, why in God's name should any ordinary citizen be able to purchase an assault weapon that holds 30-round magazines that let mass shooters fire hundreds of bullets in a matter of minutes? Completely agree. Why on earth? Jennifer has said this is planned. Chavonette, I hope I pronounced that right, said money talks. And guess who has money? I would love your thoughts as to what's really going on. Why is the gun lobby so powerful? Why is it— does it seem to be one of the only countries where there are so many mass shootings and nothing, nothing gets done about it? Literally nothing. How many innocent kids have to die before something is done about it? And you should speak up, and I'm speaking up, and I probably can't do anything about it, and it's not even my lane. I'm not even on the hard shoulder. I'm off the motorway. This is not my lane, but it's just so wrong. Imagine if one of your— that was one of your children. Seems crazy to me. Let me know what you think in the comments. But Biden has spoke out at a primetime speech saying that it's not about taking away guns, it's not about taking away rights, it's about protecting children. Why in God's name should any ordinary citizen be able to purchase an assault weapon? And at the very least, he said, if they can't ban assault-style weapons, then they should seek to raise the age to buy them from 18 to 21. Still probably not going to do anything. Let me know what you think in the comments. This seems madness. Um, yeah, why, why won't this change? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for tuning in, and remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
