Warnings of Heatwave ‘Apocalypse’ 🥵

Rob Moore reacts to the UK's 2022 heatwave emergency, with temperatures hitting 38.1°C and forecasts of 41°C. He defends media warnings as necessary, not fear-mongering, and shares safety tips: stay hydrated, keep windows open, never leave pets in cars, limit outdoor time.

Warnings of a heatwave apocalypse. Virtually word for word taken from the BBC website: warnings of heat apocalypse in parts of France. The temperature hit 38.1°C in Suffolk, UK. Forecast for 41°C tomorrow. So, um, I went live when this national emergency was declared in the UK and the country was put on red alert because of the impending heat wave. And I just thought it was a good thing to use my platform for good to warn people that, you know what, this could be a bit serious and you might want to kind of take it seriously. A lot of people kind of ridiculed me for, oh well, it's summer, it's a couple of hot days, get over it. But actually, do you know what? The news, the media is absolutely covered with warnings of this record-breaking, um, heat about to hit us. So 6 ways to keep your home cool. How do temperatures compare with the 1976 Heatwave. Should the heatwave close schools? Watch out for heat exhaustion and heatstroke. How to keep pets safe as temperatures rise. Warnings of heat apocalypse in parts of France. So I'm going to do my bit, and here is my bit. I actually think the media are doing a really good thing here. So many people, myself included at times, heavily criticized the media, but people are going to die today and tomorrow and the next day. Pets are gonna die in cars. Cars are going to break down. People are gonna die. Now, this is a— this is why I'm doing this video. Linda has said, oh, stop it, just stop it with your fear porn. And actually, fear porn, um, quite a few people have been accusing the media of negative sensationalism. I'm sorry, in this instance I disagree. Now, often I would agree, Linda, that the media is sensationalist and there is fear porn and it is doomsday. I would normally agree, but I actually think it's really good that the media are putting out all these warnings, that they're trying to keep us safe. It is much better than all the bad shit made-up press bollocks that we usually see in the media. Actually, look, okay, look, it's not a world war, but it's going to be pretty freaking serious. Now some people are like, oh well, you know, it's just summer, this happens every year. No, the UK is not set up for 40-degree heat. It is not set up for it. Us Brits are not set up for it. So I will be able to sleep at night knowing that I gave you a fair warning. So John has said, keep hydrated, open the windows and doors, have lots of ice lollies, use a fan. I'm actually going to stay in for most of the day, indoors in air conditioning. I'm not risking taking long journeys anywhere with possible cars overheating. The UK cars haven't seen this heat. They're going to overheat. Don't put your dogs or your animals in the car at all. And stay safe and cool and very hydrated. Ah, I feel good. I feel cleansed. I feel like I've done my bit. I feel like, you know, I'm using my platform for good because it's easy just to be like, oh, whatever, don't worry about it. But you know what? This could be pretty significant. Now, I remember when lockdown happened and loads of people, oh, lockdown's not gonna happen, shut up. And then it happened. "Oh no, there won't be a war, shut up!" And then there was. So I think a lot of people don't take these things seriously enough. Darren has just said, "For fuck's sake, Rob!" What? Don't— What? Hit the share button, warn everyone, tell them to stay safe, tell them to stay cool, tell them to stay indoors. Don't go out for a day or two. Let it pass. Everything will be done by Thursday, Friday. All good, and do you know what? Hats off to the media. Hats off to the media. Look, on BBC homepage, um, 6 ways to keep your home cool, how the temperatures compare with 1976 heatwave, should the heatwave close schools, watch out for heat exhaustion, how to keep your pets safe while temperatures rise. I actually think that's really good for a change. Is it not good to see useful information in our media? In a way, the media can't bloody win. Now, Wayne has said, shocking in South Africa, we're in— we're in the coldest month of the year and walking around in short sleeve shirts. Weather is indeed funny. Yeah, weather is indeed funny. Um, oh, okay. John has said, the big worry is they use climate change when it's really the jet stream. Yes, it is hot. Yes, I am sweating. Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. I'm gonna go to bed feeling like I did a good thing using my platform for good, giving everyone a bit of fair warning. Chris has said it's just a bit warm, carry on and use a bit of common sense. Chris, would it be fair to say there are plenty of people that maybe don't use common sense? Would that be a fair thing to say? Therefore, is this warning fairly, um, useful? Maybe to some. Maybe you might get caught out. you know, being in a situation that, um, you didn't think you would find yourself in. Don't take any risks, that's all I'm saying. And yeah, a lot of my critics are gonna be, oh, look at Rob talking about the heatwave warning in a fear porn. I actually think it's useful information. Hope you found it useful. Drink lots of water, stay at home, maybe don't go out, take it easy, don't put yourself in an exposed, vulnerable position. It's gonna be really freaking hot. Us people in the UK are not used to it. I can't are not used to it. Our animals are not used to it. We are not used to it. Just saying. There you go, that's my live over. Hopefully be old news in a couple of days. Thanks for tuning in. Hit the share button. Let's warn as many people as possible. And I'm gonna stand up for the media for a change. Good on you, BBC, for not posting and publishing a load of shit and having a load of practical things that people can do and a lot of fair warnings of this heat wave. I think that that's really good. Credit where credit is due. Most people don't give them enough credit. And I had loads of people criticizing me about, um, you know, this warning and it being sensationalist and fear porn. Nah, nah, take it easy, my friends. I've got your back. I love you. I care about you. I want you to be safe. I want you to be cool. Because I want you to live a good life and watch all my lives and buy all my stuff and be cool. Take it easy. Stephanie said, what a load of nonsense. Let's read the news on Thursday, Friday, Stephanie, and let's see if this was a load of nonsense then. This is what my daughter does when she wants to prove a point. Let's see if it's a load of nonsense. Stephanie has said snowflake wokist. Sorry, Stephanie. Look, I'm all up for being commonsensical, logical, taking full and personal responsibility. I'm all up for that, Stephanie, I am. But to call people who are concerned about the heatwave snowflake wokists, that's actually patronizing. It's wrong. You know, people who are woke are not woke about it being hot and, you know, protecting people. So actually, I think you got that one wrong there. So sorry, but you got that one wrong. Aliens will land next. No, no, there's a difference between there being a heat wave that's real and aliens landing. I'm not doing lives on aliens landing. I'm not doing lives on flat earthing. Michelle said this is just stupid drama and fair. Let's watch on Thursday and Friday. Do you know what? I'm really surprised. Um, they faked the temperature. No, no, no, I was out there. It was fricking hot. It was fricking hot. People are— you look— normally I agree with most of the people that tune into my content, but you're surprising me, really surprising me here, some of you. Um, drama and fear. No, it's not actually. I think that the, the media is covering this well. I think the media is usually full of drama and fear on stuff that isn't that, um, drama or fear-worthy. But I think this is a real thing, I really do. And I think it's really good that the media are covering it. And that's why I've decided to do a live on it. I could have just done a live on business and entrepreneurship. I could have just pitched you rob.team for the 68th day in a row. But instead, we're talking about things that are hopefully meaningful, that keep you safe. By the way, the reason I put, um, heatwave apocalypse in the title is because that is actually one of the news articles— warnings of heat apocalypse in parts of France. But if it is the hottest day on record ever, I'm telling you, Thursday and Friday, there's going to be a lot of sad stories that could have been avoided. I'm freaking telling you. I am telling you, and if I'm wrong, fair enough. If come Thursday or Friday no one died, no one was injured, everyone was good, no dog was left in a car, you can tell me I was wrong and I won't do anything like this again. But I'm telling you, on Thursday and Friday we're going to hear some fucking sad stories. And, um, Georgie's just said it was boiling hot in London today. So I, I just think I just want to sleep well knowing that I'm using my platform for good. And you know, no, I think one of the reasons people criticizing me a bit, um, is because they used to be talking about free speech and business and entrepreneurship, um, and, you know, pushing against taxation and actually pushing back against the media. That's why I think that, um, that's what you're used to me talking about. But, um, in this instance, the UK are not prepared for this weather. I'm just telling you to be prepared, and I'm telling you to be safe. That's all I'm doing. Don't go on a long journey in an old car. Don't put a dog in a car. Drink double the amount of water. Stay in if you can in the house. What the fuck is wrong with that? Yet, you know, being called, talking about it'll be alien next, fear-mongering, fear porn. What was it? What was the phrase that someone used? Something wokeists. I'll find it. Snowflake wokies. Actually, I'm just going to say this time— I normally don't say it because I love most of you— just gonna say a lot of you are actually wrong about this, uh, and it's a bit sad really, um, that, you know, you wouldn't share this and just share a little warning anyway. And then, yeah, I know some of you are saying it's not aimed at me, it's aimed at the media, and it's aimed at— you know, I get all of that, but, um, I think it's good to discuss, which is why I am here, um, because actually in this one instance, uh think it's— I'm actually pleased to read a lot of it in the media. Um, Terry James has said more scaremongering. I don't read The Sun, Terry, so I don't know. Um, but actually on the BBC, um, there's 6 ways to keep your home cool, how do temperatures compare with 1976, should the heatwave close schools, watch out for heat exhaustion and heat stroke, how to keep pets safe and temp— as temperatures rise. So actually they're quite useful practical things to help you. Tracy said climate lockdown's coming to a town near you. Oh Tracy, I hope not, I hope not. Don't say that. Um, yes, I, I do realize that some of you weren't, um, pointing your criticism at me, but actually in this instance I just want to defend the media a bit. Um, James has said stay safe, bar, bar. That's useful, James. Really glad on the value that you're providing to humanity. Um, yeah, awesome, nice, helpful, useful. Anyway, um, I just thought I'd do a quick live. Yeah, sleep naked. That is— that I'm gonna do a live on, that sleep naked. Yeah, we are still alive, and I want everyone to be alive by Friday, including your animals and pets. Cool, thanks for tuning in. I've made my point, I've done my good. Hit the share button, warn people. Right, so what we decided we're going to do, um, we've decided that, um, you're going to sleep naked, you're not going to go on long journeys in your car, don't want that to overheat, you're going to try and stay in where you can, you're going to drink loads of water, Um, you're going to make sure that any, um, anything that cools you down is absolutely working fine. You're not going to go anywhere where you could be outdoors for a long amount of time. Yeah, exactly. I mean, the roads are melting and the, um, rail tracks are causing really difficult— great difficulty for rail and road travel. Um, you want your kids to be safe, don't you? What about the elderly? Robert said I've sold out on this one. What have I sold out on? I'm sold out. I'm just giving people a nice fair warning. It's so fun. Do you know what? When I do charity raises and I raise tens of thousands of pounds on my platform, people go, oh, you should just donate it yourself doing charity races on your Facebook Lives. You are Satan. And I get criticized for that. And now I'm just like, it would be so much easier for me just to do business and entrepreneur content because that's what I do. And I'm just trying to pattern interrupt and stop and just have a nice fair warning, just to do my bit, and you get criticized for it. Although Rob said, actually enjoying your videos now after slating you with your COVID lockdown thoughts, keep it up. Thank you, Rob, I appreciate that. Um, Stephanie has said, my son has worked 8 hours in a pub kitchen today, he's alive. Yep, awesome. Um, and if he died tomorrow, you'd be fucking upset and you'd wish you'd heed the warning. So I'm just saying. Now look, I'm not saying it's a state of national emergency like our government did. I'm just saying be safe, figure out some ways to stay safe and stay cool. That's all I'm saying. We're all friends, it's all good. Robert has said it's pure and simple common sense. Why have we forgot this? Because some people have got plans and they haven't taken into account or they forget, or they don't read the news, or they've got an old car and they've got a long journey, or they're just not prepared. I mean, my wife's bought, you know, most of the ice from, um, the Eskimos. She's bought 17 massive, huge self-contained refrigeration air conditioning units. She's locked us in the house. She's shut all the curtains. She's done everything to prepare. So yeah. Marco has said perfect weather for golf. Doreen has said love my videos. There you go, I've done my bit now. It's nice to chat to you all, by the way, and have a bit of banter as well. Um, keep the criticism coming, I love it. Keep telling me what you like me sharing, I'll do more of it. Keep telling me what you don't want me to share, I might fuck you off and do more of it, or I might do less of it. I do listen to you, I do engage, as you can see. I've done my bit. I probably won't talk about the heat waves anymore. I'll probably go back to doing business and entrepreneurial content and telling you to buy Rob.team and getting you to learn, earn, and invest, and getting you to invest in yourself and all the other stuff I normally do. You're all awesome. Hit the share button. Stay safe the next couple of days. I need you. I need you here. And everyone's saying, oh, it's really hot everywhere else. Yeah, you're fucking used to it. It's like if it was going to be -30 here, everyone in Antarctica going, oh, well, it's, it's a -30, it's summer here. Yeah, you're used to it. We're not used to it. This is a good point, Richard. It may be common sense, but we forget as we're generally not having temperatures like this. We're not prepared for it. Sue says nanny state. I'm actually enjoying the comments. I just want to stay on for the comments. All right, anyway, I've done my bit. Hit the share button. You do your bit. Warn other people. No, I haven't been drinking. I am on the dash water, sparkling water infused with wonky blackcurrants. Maybe it's the wonky blackcurrants. Yeah, um, how about a heatwave wealth tax? Not on my watch, Jay. Stephanie says live dangerously. I'm going to sweat a few pounds out. Stop being soft. Says Matt, and Sue says just be me. Fuck you all, I'm going to be me, and I say that as a term of endearment. Fuck you all, like Gazza would say it. I interviewed, um, Gazza 2 days ago. That goes live next week. OMFG, you are going to love my interview with Paul Gascoigne. It was wild. Cheers. Hit the share button, as you should always. Holy shit, the live's going up and up and up and up and up. Maybe I should just sit here and chat to you more. The heat wave is hell. There you go, someone who's on my side. The heat wave is hell. Stay safe, drink water, not Dash water. No, I'm not going live talking about, um, climate change or the conspiracy of the climate. None of that shit. It's just a nice little fair warning from me to you to stay safe, to stay cool. Well, exactly, everyone's saying remember, sleep naked. Do you know what, this could be a great video because everyone's going to get laid tonight because everyone's going to go to bed naked and it's just gonna roll over and get jiggy. So I'm doing a lot of good in the world. I'm warning people about heat waves. I'm standing up for your rights. For lower taxes, for freedom of speech. I'm educating you on being an entrepreneur, and now I'm getting you more laid. No wonder you follow my work. Am I okay? I'm all good. All right. I'm a redhead and Showcase Cinema have offered free entry to Shelter. You try to give simple advice and people start with the conspiracy negativity. Yes, it's all right, Richard. Yeah, you know, no good deed goes unpunished. That's the saying. You know, I've raised 10, 15, 20, 30 grand on my lives and I get a lot of criticism for that. Um, yeah, cool. Yeah, I always sleep naked as well. Do you sleep naked? Do you sleep naked? I sleep naked. I just like to stick my arse out as well, and just so the wife can get a little look when she walks past every time. Check that out. How can you resist that, honey? Although when the kids come up, it's a bit annoying. Daddy! All right, cool. Yeah, exactly. Blame me in 9 months' time when there's overpopulation. 'Cause Rob told everyone to sleep naked in this heatwave, and 9 months later we've overpopulated with too many babies. Do you know what? We should have a little video live together where we just create conspiracy theories out of everything. What's drinking? What's in there? Yeah, do you know what, Marco? I'm a bit worried my wife is going to say it's too hot for any action. I'm not going to get anywhere near her. Don't even think she'll let me touch her hand. Thanks for tuning in, everyone. I am out of here now. Hit the share button. Let's just give everyone a bit of a nice warning. Stay safe for the next couple of days. Use your common sense, but stay safe. Prepare your journeys and just prepare your days. Make sure you're all good and cool, because I need you and I want you back in my life, and I want your animals safe, and I want everyone safe. And actually, good on the media— well, the BBC, You know, I'm just going to say good on the BBC. There's a lot of practical articles on staying safe in this heatwave, and I think it's really good. And I'm, you know, normally criticizing the media, so I'm going to just give them a little hat tip. Good on you. All right, you may be fearmongering a bit, you know, heatwave apocalypse, maybe that's a bit too much. And now, you know, my headline I've put in here, heatwave apocalypse, I took it off BBC. Yeah, it's Is it too hot to shag? I did a couple of lives naked once in the bath. They got really good engagement. Maybe I should do that. Maybe as it's so hot, should just do naked lives. Love you all. Thanks for tuning in. Thanks for engaging. Thanks for the fun and the banter. Hit the share button. Stay safe, and I'll see you with my normalized content as of tomorrow. If you don't risk anything, you risk everything. I should do a Rob.team pitch now, shouldn't I? Are you all a member of Rob.team, by the way? No, don't know the guy. I would interview him though, my podcast, damn right, and I'd ask him some hard questions. Leticia, go on LinkedIn and advertise Rob.team. Leticia, let me know how you think I should do it. Mandy said I'll join. Go and join, actually. Go and join. How much coke are you on? None. I'm high on life, Leo.
