Why Most Business Fail đł

In this brief liveâstyle video Rob Moore argues that the common belief that businesses fail because they run out of cash is only a symptom, not the root cause. He explains a causal chain: insufficient marketing leads to a shortage of qualified leads, which results in weak sales, which then dries up cash flow and causes failure. He illustrates the chain with analogies (e.g., a shop without customers) and cites iconic marketing examples like the iPod slogan and bigâbrand advertising. Moore distinguishes two marketing components â directâresponse ads and brandâbuilding/personalâbrand efforts â and stresses that strong marketing generates quality leads without needing aggressive sales tactics. The video concludes with a promotional callâtoâaction: viewers are invited to comment âsalesâ to receive a free spot in an exclusive Zoom masterclass on automating sales and marketing, sponsored by a leading software provider, with only 50 spots for nonâRob.team members.

Hi, it's Rob Moore here, and it's pretty predictable why most businesses fail. Now, on a simple level, on the outside, businesses fail due to a lack of cash. Not enough cash. Making me choke. So cash flow is the lifeblood of a business, and most businesses fail because they run out of cash. But that is like the symptom of the business failing, but it's not the actual cause of the business failing. So stay with me because I've got to be super quick. I've actually got my son's assembly coming soon. So businesses fail because they run out of cash. Now people say, oh, but don't businesses fail because they're not making enough profit? Well, yes, profit is obviously important in a business, otherwise it's insolvent. But with cash, you can continue to trade, and without cash, you can fail. And you can be profitable but run out of cash. So cash is the lifeblood of a business, and drying up and not having enough cash flow is the reason that most businesses fail. However, it goes a few stages back, and most people don't tell you this. So a business runs out of cash, therefore it fails. But what meansâ what drives it to run out of cash is a lack of sales, not enough sales, um, or not taking enough revenue from the sales. Because you can do sales, but your revenue can be next month or next year. So you've made sales and there's profits on the profit and loss, but the cash hasn't come in. So you need to make sales to have cash. To make sales, you need to have qualified leads. And to have qualified leads, you need to be really good at marketing to find qualified leads. So it's actually a lack of marketing that makes companies fail, because if you have good quality marketing, you attract quality qualified leads those leads turn into buyers, and those buyers turn into cash. So it's actually the reverse of what a lot of people think. Now I've only got 4 minutes left, so I've got to be quick, but let me just repeat that process one moreâ once more and step back, back, back, and back, because people don't tell you this. A lack of cash will dry your business out. A lack of cash comes from a lack of sales. A lack of sales comes from a lack of quality qualified leads, and a lack of quality qualified leads come comes from not being great at marketing. Now think about it. For example, Steve Jobs came up with 10,000 songs in your pocket. What an amazing marketing slogan for the iPod that you can't compete against that. And if you think of the big corporations, you see them everywhere. They spend billions on ads, on billboards, in TV. Now, by the way, marketing is social media marketing. It's building a personal brand. It's ads. So there's the direct response element of marketingâadsâand then there's the personal brand or the brand element of marketing. You know, think of a fizzy drink, you might think of Coca-Cola. Think of a phone, you might think of, um, Apple. Think of a sports car, you might think of a Lamborghini. I don't know. But, um, there's the direct response and then there's the brand response for marketing. But it's all marketing. Imagine a shop. A shop You could have the best products in the shop and the best salesperson in the shop and the best CCTV security and the best, um, tilling systemâ is that a word, the till? But if you've got no customers, you can't make any money. So a shop is the sales, but getting people in the shop, this is the marketing. So does this all make sense? Give me a yes in the comments if this makes sense. Be honest with yourself, are you doing enough marketing? Marketing generates quality leads. Sales converts quality leads into money. Marketing is getting people in the shop and getting a queue in the shop, and sales is converting people once in the shop. So everyone thinks that businesses fail because a lack of sales or a lack of cash, but it's a lack of marketing and generating quality qualified leads.
