Why the Rich/Poor Wealth Gap is so Bad

Rob Moore identifies four drivers of the wealth gap: poor financial education, how the rich invest surplus income while others spend it, wealthy networks of advisors, and inflation eroding cash holdings. He argues these structural factors, not greed alone, explain why the divide keeps widening.

Why the wealth gap between the rich and the poor is so bad. Why it's widening. Why it's getting worse and worse and why it seems so unfair and divided. And I've done a lot of research into this, 16 years worth of research into money. I wrote the UK's best-selling book on money called Money, and in recent times I'm writing my new book called Money Revolution. And I've been doing some deep research into why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and why there's such a wealth gap, and if there always has been such a growing wealth gap. And there are 4 main reasons, as I see it in my current research, as to why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and why there's such a big wealth gap. And I'm going to share those with you in a moment. Now, a lot of people think it's because life is unfair. 'Or it's the government's fault,' or 'The rich are just greedy bastards.' Well, actually, only one of those is true, and it's probably not the one you think, and I'll share that with you in a moment. But what you see in the cycles through history is this sort of revolution from war into peace and chaos into order. And when you have peace and order, usually after some kind of revolution, you generally have prosperity, not austerity, and you generally have wealth relatively well distributed, not so much divided. But then as you move towards periods in economic cycles of disorder, of chaos, of revolution, two of the great factors that create these revolutions, and I believe we're coming towards a financial revolution, one is the political dividedness and one is the gap between the rich and the poor in terms of the wealth gap. So right now we're very extreme, aren't we, politically, where it's very far left and very far right and each make each other completely wrong and attack each other vehemently. So we have this great political divide. But we also have a large wealth divide and wealth gap, and that's part of the stage of the cycle towards a revolution and part of the extreme situation that we're currently in. So I believe there are 4 main reasons why this wealth gap is getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. And actually, this is quite a solution-based live video for you, so I would recommend that you share this around. I'm not going to sit here saying that it's because there's a new world order and we are being controlled and manipulated I'm actually going to give you the practical reasons why the wealth divide, the wealth gap gets bigger and bigger. So the first one is education. Unfortunately, I think we've got a real education problem. You know, they say the pandemic of, you know, a virus. Well, I think we have a pandemic of broken systems. The NHS in the UK and the education system in the UK. So unfortunately, in the poorer areas, the education is worse, it's lower. And therefore they don't get the same opportunity. And it's not just because the poor location, it's the lack of education. Because if you took those same people who were born into relative poverty but gave them good education, then they would be able to flourish. Now I'm specifically here talking about the education around wealth and money. You know, I wrote in my book Money: The Formula for Wealth, wealth equals perceived value plus fair exchange times leverage. There is a formula for wealth: perceived value plus fair exchange times leverage. And unfortunately, many people don't learn to be wealthy. They don't know the mechanics of money. And the people who educate themselves around money and wealth, they take personal responsibility. Whereas the poor— well, actually, I'm going to talk between poor and broke. So poor is born poor, not your fault, don't know any better because of circumstance or environment. Broke is not necessarily born poor, full of opportunity, information at your fingertips, and you blame everyone and you complain and you justify your broke position. So poor and broke are different, but the broke often blame and don't take responsibility, whereas the wealthy or those that desire to be wealthy They learn to earn. They invest in their knowledge, in themselves, as they know they are an asset, as well as trying to invest in physical and digital assets. So that's the first reason that the wealth gap grows, because what you appreciate appreciates. So if you appreciate and learn about money, it appreciates. And where focus goes, energy flows, and results show. So even though you might be in a difficult situation or broke or raised in a poor area, you can still Listen to podcasts and watch YouTube videos and go to your local library and educate yourself and take responsibility to change your situation. And my money book has done that for— I don't know how many people now, I don't want to make a number up, but lots of people around the world. I should find out how many book sales we've done on money. I did see a nice big royalty check come in a couple of months ago, so— Okay, next then is the gap between the rich and poor gets bigger and bigger and bigger. Because if the broke have any surplus money, they spend it. And they may spend it on depreciating liabilities, or they may spend it on consumables, or they may spend it on addictions and emotions. Whereas when the rich have any surplus disposable money, they invest it into assets that appreciate and generate income. Because a lot of people are saying, "Oh, well, no one's got any spare money, no one's got any disposable income." That's not true. You can live on a very, very low overhead, and even if it's only $100 or a pound surplus, if you waste that on consumables and depreciating liabilities— and you know what the broke do is they spend more than they earn— whereas even if you've only got $100, if you invest that into an asset, that might yield you 5%, and then every month $100 into an asset, and then as you save a bit more, $200 into an asset, and that soon grows. So the second reason the wealth gap gets bigger and bigger and bigger is the rich and the wealthy of mind and money invest surplus income into assets that beat inflation, that pay residual income, and those assets go up. The broke, they spend money on consumables and depreciables and money to, you know, alleviate and relieve their emotions and addictions. And because these compound, by the way. The third reason that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is because the rich build a network of millionaires and mentors and advisors and accountants and lawyers. And accountants and lawyers advise them to protect their wealth. And mentors advise them to invest and grow their wealth. So they have this like mastermind of great minds. Whereas unfortunately the broke people hang around with other broke people and they do what broke people do. You've probably heard the saying that you are the 5 people you spend the most time with. So, you know, if you're hanging around with low-grade people— and I'm not saying that from a moralistic judgment point of view, I'm talking about this in terms of pure money— but a low-grade money person, they spend on consumables and depreciables They spend more than they earn. They spend on addictions and alleviating their emotions. If you hang around enough people like that, you're going to do that. You're going to be influenced by that. Whereas if you have a network of millionaires and you see how they spend and invest their money and what businesses they build, and you've got good accountants and lawyers and tax advisers who can help divert money into assets and reduce your tax and increase your income. That's the third reason why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. And then the fourth reason, this is the big reason, by the way. I'm glad you stayed here till the end. You want to share this because this is the big reason. And most people don't know about this because it's a hidden form of poor tax, and it is inflation. So the reason at the moment why the poor are getting much more poor is because they don't hold assets, they only hold cash or savings or money in their current accounts. So they only have money, and money is being depreciated hard by inflation and quantitative easing. And the soaring cost of living. So they're stuck. You know, if you only have paper money and paper money is going down in value, then you are getting poorer. Whereas the rich, they have inflation-protecting assets. So as inflation is pushing down the value of money for people who are on the breadline and broke and poor, and they can do nothing about that, and the government is driving that, by the way, that's actually making the rich richer. Because they don't hold much cash asset, they hold physical asset. Inflation often pushes the physical asset price up, and inflation wipes down the good debt on the physical asset. So you know I said earlier that there's 3 things that people think that make the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? That life is unfair, that the government are evil, and that the rich are greedy. And I said only 1 of them is correct and 2 of them aren't. It's not that the rich are greedy, and it's not that life is unfair, but the government don't help the broke in times of austerity and in times of revolution. And inflation and food and energy and fuel and the soaring cost of living crisis is banging inflation up so high that unfortunately anyone who only has money as a form of wealth Money is a very soft asset, a soft form of wealth. And by the way, that's 95% of the population probably. Most people don't have assets, they only have money as a formal store of wealth. And the government are debasing that and that value is going down hard. Now part of that isn't the government's fault necessarily, but they did lock us down and that was a big part of it. And they are financing wars and they don't have to. So you could argue there's a lot of mismanagement in government. Forcing the value of money down, making the poor get poorer. Now I've banged on every single day in my Facebook Lives, every single day. You cannot say I haven't told you this. Even my wife said to me yesterday, don't you get sick of saying the same thing over and over on your Lives? No, I do not. Because earlier I said that education was the big problem. If you learn about investments, if you learn about how inflation works, the downside but also the upside, if you learn how to build passive recurring income, digital assets, physical assets, make, manage, and master money. If you learn all of this stuff, it does not matter what country you were born into, it does not matter how poor you may be, you can change the situation. So what you need to do is get better education, and hopefully my lives and maybe my book Money, for example, will help you. You need to take full responsibility for your wealth by learning how to make, manage, and master money. You need to take any surplus money you have and get it out of soft money money and into hard assets. Real estate, gold, building your personal brand, launching a business, etc. And I've been saying this over and over to you. You need to get around good people, millionaires, mentors, masters, advisors, and because they will pull you up. You know, everything's dynamic and moving in the world. You know, everything is a transference of energy. And so when you hang around people, if their vibration is higher than yours, they're going to pull you up. If their vibration is lower than yours, they're going to drag you down. So you need to be around people who are going to pull you up. The financial education, the energy, the belief. And you need to have really good advisors who know how to make, manage, and master money. And then this is the big one. You've got to get your money out of softy deflationary currency, fiat currency, and into hard assets, inflation-beating assets— real estate, personal brand, building a business, starting a side hustle, etc. Otherwise, you're going to get pulled into the trap, pulled down by the government, and you are going to get more and more poor. And by the way, right now you need to earn 20% more year on year just to stay net even. I.e., if you don't earn 20% more next year, your money is going to go down and your costs are going to go up. So it's pretty serious. So if you'd like to learn how to take full responsibility, if you'd like to learn how to educate yourself on making, managing, and mastering money, if you'd like to learn how to invest in assets that produce recurring income and beat the wealth gap and beat inflation and beat the government, if you'd like to build a network of masters and mentors and millionaires and advisors, and you'd like to turn inflation into your friend instead of into your enemy and leverage the wealth gap so you can be on the rise, not on the fall, you need to join Rob.team. Team, rob.team, into a new window right now because the wealth gap is getting worse. It is a predictable pattern of the cycle. If you study cycles going back, financial cycles and revolutions, you know, the wealth gap getting bigger and bigger is a sign of unrest. It's usually before some kind of political or financial revolution of sorts. And there are 4 main reasons for it. And people just think it's because the rich are greedy, or the government are bastards, or that life is unfair. But it's not. It's that the rich learn how to get rich. The rich invest surplus money into assets. The rich build a network of other rich people. And the rich use inflation as their friend to build their asset base instead of their enemy. Whereas the broke blame people or can't get access to the information. Or don't take responsibility. Sometimes it's their fault, sometimes it's not. The broke spend their surplus money on depreciating liabilities and consumables. The broke hang around broke people, and the broke are wiped out by inflation because they only have money, and that wipes out the value of their money. And it might not always be their fault. Some poor people don't have a bank account. Some poor people only budget and manage with cash. That— but education is where it needs to change, and this is why I have Rob.team, and you can help yourself.
