Why you should tell everyone your problems 🤔

In this motivational monologue, Rob Moore argues that sharing your problems with others is essential for finding solutions, not merely an exercise in vulnerability. He critiques the male tendency to hide struggles, urging listeners to reframe issues as "challenges" and use careful language when discussing sensitive topics. He stresses that asking for help is the only way to solve problems, highlighting the importance of persistence and elegant, repeated requests. Personal anecdotes illustrate his point, including his own reluctance to seek introductions for high‑profile podcast guests and a self‑imposed challenge to secure Elon Musk on his show. Moore also warns that deeply traumatic issues should be directed to professionals. He connects the practice of sharing problems to broader mental‑health concerns, citing examples of unnoticed suffering leading to tragedy. Throughout, he promotes his platform Rob.team, describing its low‑cost membership, masterclasses, and resources for entrepreneurship, financial education, and building digital assets, and repeatedly urges viewers to join.

Why I believe you should tell everybody your problems. Now, I'm not talking about, oh, you should be vulnerable and show your darkest weaknesses and secrets and pains because it's all about vulnerability. This is not the angle I'm coming from. I believe that you should tell everyone your problems because then they can help you towards solutions. Now look, especially us men, we're not very good at opening up about our problems. And again, not just about being vulnerable or being seen as weak, we just kind of crack on because it's a male trait to just try and get things binary trait. But the point here is I don't think we share enough our problems. And if you think about it, a problem is not anything to do with your character. Now, of course, there are some deep, dark wounds and things that have happened maybe when you were young or that are really traumatic and painful. And you should definitely seek professional help before you start blurting that all out on social media. So I will say that, but I'll give you a few examples. But if you think about it, let's say you're struggling a bit in your business, um, letting people know that you're finding things a challenge, and here are your main challenges, and do they have any solutions, or do they know anyone who has any solutions? What's wrong with that? Now, if you're worried about people thinking badly of you, you can choose your language carefully. So instead of saying, "I'm in the shit," or, "Everything's fucked," you could say, "I'm having some current challenges. There's some difficulties in starting my business, scaling my business, in my relationships, in my personal life, etc." Now, Georgina has said here, "No, you don't share a problem." Yes, you do. This is what I'm saying, Georgina. Other people like to ride on other people's insecurity. Well, here's the thing. If we don't ask for help and don't share our challenges and problems because we're worried about what other people think about us, well, then it's over before we start. Over. Because how can you solve a problem if you don't ask for help? Now, here's the thing. Generally, human beings aren't that good at solving problems they haven't solved before. Because if they'd have solved it before, it wouldn't be a problem. And it's a problem because they've not experienced this challenge before, or they don't know how to handle it. So usually, what got you here to this problem won't get you there to the solution. So generally, the solution lies somewhere else in someone else doing something else. So Georgina, this is why I did this live, to help people like you, because you've said no, don't share any of your problems in case people will judge you. Well, people will judge you anyway, so you might as well try and get all your problems solved and your challenges overcome. And who cares what anyone thinks anyway? It's none of my business what anyone thinks, none at all. I'm walking around London doing a live and these people probably think I'm some kind of idiot. Who fucking cares? I care about you and your problems into solutions and care about helping people. Don't care if people think I'm an idiot talking to a phone. So I believe you should be more open about your problems, and if they're very traumatic and sensitive, then obviously get professional advice or speak about them sensitively. And if you don't really want people to hugely judge you, instead of calling them problems, and everything's going to shit, call them challenges. I'm experiencing a challenge in my relationship right now. This is the issue. Does anyone know anyone who can help? I'm experiencing challenges starting my business. I seem to procrastinate, or I seem to be somewhat scared. Does anyone experience this, and does anyone know anyone who can help? Now, there's little things and big things at play here. So, for example, little things. I've always been somewhat concerned about asking people for introductions because, look, you know, I interview a lot of famous people on my podcast and they're super busy and last thing they need is to be nagged by this podcaster and disruptor called Rob Moore. And I don't like asking anything of anyone and I rarely, if ever, ask anything of anyone. I've got lots of very famous and well-connected people and I never really ask anything of them. Why not? Like, I want to interview Elon Musk, so why don't I ask people if they know Elon Musk or if they could connect me to Elon Musk? Because I think that I'm encroaching on their time, and I worry that maybe other people might think, oh well, you know, Rob Moore's to go on social media and ask to see if he can get connected with Elon Musk. Yeah, it's a bit lame. So I challenged myself, and I just don't know if you saw my video yesterday, but I said I'll sell all my petrol cars bar a couple Um, and by all Teslas, if Elon Musk will jump on my podcast. So I just challenged myself to get over myself. And that's the thing, isn't it? Most of our problems are in our own head. Most of them aren't necessarily real, but we're making them real. But of course they're real to us. Um, and really what we've got to overcome is ourself. We've got to overcome our concern about being judged and ridiculed and worrying about what other people think about us. And worrying about what other people think about us, I believe, is our greatest curse. Because what would you do if there was no one else on this planet? Like, if you're walking down London and there's no one and you own London and you can do whatever you want and say whatever you want and be whatever you want, what would you be? What would you do? You'd probably have a nice car and a nice house, and you probably would spend money, and you probably would want to be rich. Imagine how freeing that would be. And I think freedom, ultimate freedom, is the courage to be disliked and to not worry about what people think about you, and that stops us from sharing our problems. So I'm challenging you one more time, and let me know what you think in the comments, by the way. I challenge you to share your problems. Speak about them carefully, elegantly, and delicately, especially if they're sensitive, but ask for help. Now, who is it here has made a great point? Marcia has just said, usually people are happy to help if you ask. Here's the thing, no one's gonna help if you don't ask. No one's gonna know what you're going through if you don't tell them. I don't know if you've ever been in a relationship and, you know, your partner expects you to read their mind and know exactly what they're thinking at any one given moment. And sometimes I do that with my wife, and I'm looking at her like she's supposed to read my mind, and she just looks at me and says, "Just tell me. If you want it, just ask." Literally, she says that. And I think that that's a great thing. If you don't ask, you don't get. Exactly, Louie. My dad used to tell me that for many years. If you don't ask, you don't get. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. So I challenge you to ask for help more, to share your problems more, and if you're worried about what people think about you or they're sensitive, just call them challenges and ask for solutions. Now, by the way, whenever I ask for any help, I like to ask the person or if the person knows anyone. Because if you ask the person or if they know anyone, If they don't really like being asked, it takes the pressure off them. But also, if they can't help, they could connect you with someone else. So, let me know what you think about that. Should you share more of your problems? And will that help you get solutions, lessons, connections? Or are you still of the opinion that you just say nothing, do nothing, never complain, never explain, sort your shit out yourself, don't moan, don't whinge, don't show weakness, don't show vulnerability? Let me know what you think. Now look, when it comes to asking for help in business, in entrepreneurship, in making more income, in starting and scaling, in building digital assets, a personal brand, getting yourself out there more, I can help you and you need to ask for my help. Janice said, this is not true, I had family problems from last year, I asked the police, social services. Now like I said in my video, if it's sensitive, you've got to ask for professionals, and maybe you need to ask again. Here's the— this is a good point actually. And, um, Yan, Jan, um, if it's very sensitive, do ask the professionals. I'm not trained professionally on in those areas. But what I would say is sometimes you ask once and you get a no, or you get a ghosting. You've got to ask again. You've got to ask again, and you've got to ask again. You've got to keep asking until you get a response and you get what you want. And you know, there's nothing wrong with being persistent. And yeah, being persistent can be annoying, but if you're charmingly persistent, elegantly persistent, and you just keep asking in a nice and different way until you get a response, a reaction, or a result response, reaction, result, then you win. So even if you're going through something difficult, I would still encourage you to ask for help. Maybe you haven't asked the right person, maybe you haven't asked in the right way, or maybe you haven't asked enough times. But when you give up, the problem doesn't go away. Go join right now. And let me just say one more time, if you're struggling, ask for help, even if it's sensitive, difficult, embarrassing, hard. You feel lonely. No one can help you if they don't know you're going through anything. If you don't ask, you don't get. And if you've been ghosted or people haven't helped you, you've got to ask again in a different way. You've got to be elegantly assistant, because I believe that if you share your problems, people will help you. People want to help you. They want to support you. I believe that anything you want and need in life, you can get through other people. But if they don't know, they can't help. So let me know what you think. Thanks for tuning in. Hit the share button. More people need to know this. So many people are suffering alone. You've suffered alone. You know your friends are probably suffering alone. Wouldn't you want to know if a friend or a colleague was suffering? You know, a lot of people say when friends of theirs took their own life, they didn't even know. They seemed happy. No one knew on the outside. It happened with Robin Williams. It happened with Chester from Linkin Park. The day before, they're happy and laughing. The next day, they're gone because they didn't ask for help. And wouldn't you want to know if someone you know is going through that? And wouldn't you want to help them? Them? Yes, you would. So I actually believe it's a good thing to share your problems, but the more sensitive they are, the more careful with your language and elegant that you need to be. And I think the best way to do that is instead of saying everything's going wrong, this specific problem is ruining my life, whatever, just say I'm having challenges right now in the area of ABC. Could you help, or do you know anyone that could help? You know, I asked for help when COVID happened and there was lockdown downs, um, because I've never been through it before. I asked for introductions now to big guests on podcasts and get over my pride. When I, um, did this little challenge to get Elon Musk on my show, someone said, oh, you shouldn't be begging. He should— you, you know, you should play it cool and he should want to come on your podcast. Well, yeah, in an ideal world, I could play it cool and I wouldn't beg and he could come on my podcast, but he doesn't know who I am yet and he hasn't been begging to come on my show. So until he begs to come on my show, I'm gonna fucking ask him. Or anyone that knows him. Why not? So let me know what you think. Hit the share button. And remember, Rob.team is just a large coffee, one-third of the price of Netflix.
