Your Biggest Expenses (This Will Shock You)

Rob Moore argues that taxes, National Insurance, and inflation consume roughly 70% of your income, far more than food, housing, or transport combined. He claims owning a business lets you "pay yourself first" and use legal deductions to reduce what you owe. Moore is promoting the Moneymaker Summit, offering sponsored tickets to the first 15 registrants.

Your biggest expenses. This might shock you. I've been doing some research into people's biggest expenses, and I don't think most people actually know what their biggest expenses are. Now, when it comes to your money and wealth, you cannot master what you do not measure. So my first question to you is, do you budget and do you track all of your expenses? Do you order your expenses? And do you know what your biggest expenses are? Let me know in the comments if you absolutely do. If you don't, you're going to need to stay with me. The next thing, for a bit of fun, and I'll give a silver coin away to the first person that gets this right. Do you know what the average person's biggest expenses Um, like I said, been doing some research. Um, I'm using Grok at the moment. I don't know what, um, AI tool you use, but I'm using Grok and I find it— I mean, it's just so much better than Google. It really is. Um, so do you know what the average person's biggest expense is? Let me know in the comments. Now, of course, you have food, transport, housing, healthcare, education, et cetera. So first person to get it right gets a silver coin. Okay, so the average person in America, by the way, and this is according to Grok, which is Elon Musk's AI, the average person in America spends about 11% on food. In the UK, we spend a bit more, nearer 13%. In America, the average person spends about 16% on transport. That's their car, fuel, travel to work, et cetera. Housing is a big one. Now, many people when they say, what's your biggest expense, they'll say housing. In fact, Rosemary has just said housing. Housing is about 26% in America. But these are nowhere— even education. So I spend 6 figures on my children's education. And I've spent over the years 7 figures on my own education. I mean, education surely should be quite high if you think about it. I realize I'm in a privileged position. I can pay for education when maybe other people can't. Okay, so Matthew has said debt. Yeah, I don't actually know what the average person's amount of their earnings is on debt repayment. I bet it's high though, Matthew. I bet it's really high. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the top 3 or 4. OK, so can anyone guess? Now, when you earn money, you pay some things before tax and some things after tax. So food, housing, transport— these are all after tax. And people often say, well, my divorce was my biggest expense. The thing with the divorce is, is half, maybe less, maybe more, depends who you are, but it's half, let's say. But tax on what you earn and what you spend and inflation, which are essentially the 3 ways that you're taxed, It's about 70%. So of what you earn and what you spend and in your money going down in value, which is a form of tax. So basically, your biggest expense by a country mile, by what, 4 times everything else, is the government. The government in the form of tax and inflation. So let me ask you this. Have you got provisions? Are you set up? To get your tax bill down? Do you know how to earn money in a way which means you pay yourself first and you pay tax last? If the answer is, I don't know, or I want to know, stay with me for a minute. Because unfortunately, when it comes to tax, 90% of the population have no choice. You have a choice how much you spend on food, how much you spend on transport, how much you spend on education, how much you spend on housing. You have a choice. Whereas when it comes to tax, you don't, because what happens is the government goes to your employer and they take tax, National Insurance, and student loan repayment immediately off the employer before you get what's left. So you're often getting less than half, or half, let's round it, of what's left. But then when you've got half of what's left, then you pay for things that have got VAT and sales tax and other forms of tax on top. So you're paying tax again. And then as soon as you get that money, it goes down in value with inflation. And this, I honestly believe it's about 70%. I've done a lot of research on this, by the way. I've done many posts on it. But I reckon it's 70% of what you earn and what you spend is in one form of tax or another. And there are dozens of forms of tax. So there's one way to combat this and only one way. And that is to pay yourself first and pay tax later or last instead of government takes your money first and you get what's left. And by the way, the way that you can do this is legal and legitimate, and it's in fact the government that have designed it. And that is for you to be an entrepreneur, start a business, even if it's just a side hustle, even if it's a few hours a week. But you need to own a company where you receive the money and then you can offset depreciate and write off various expenses, and you can leverage various tax breaks to get your tax bill down. And this is something that the government want— in fact, the government need you to do it because the private sector employers generate most of the economy and employ most of the people. So they need you to do it. They're just not going to advertise it too easily. So if you'd like to learn how to get your tax bill down, learn how to be an entrepreneur, starting it really easy and quickly, learn how to build your own business and reduce your biggest expense by a mile, I recommend you come to the Moneymaker Summit because the Moneymaker Summit exclusively used to be about making money, making, managing, and multiplying money. 6 entrepreneur keynote speakers who've been in business 15 years each, who've got 100 years between us experience teaching you the best business models for 2025. Because here's the thing, you need to control your own finances, and you're not free if you can't control your own finances. You can control the money you spend on food and education and transport and housing. You cannot control how much you pay to the government, taxation and inflation, unless you set your structures properly and you pay yourself first and you pay tax last. And I'm doing a 90-minute deep dive, detailed section, cameras off, by the way, phones off, and I'll share, you know, with you how to save a huge amount of this money that you're spending on tax without choice, and I'll give you the freedom and the choice. So see you at the Moneymaker Summit. It shocked me when I researched how much you pay in expenses in tax. With all the taxes, everything that you pay and paying on paying and double and triple taxation. You know, why is it that you're taxed on what you earn, but then you're taxed again on what you spend? Why is it that you're taxed when you're alive, and then you're taxed again on when you die? Why is it that you're taxed by the country but then you're taxed by the county and state as well? Why are all these double taxation events? Why are they taxing us and then taxing us again, taxing us and taxing us again? It doesn't seem fair or right. And so I've evolved the agenda of the Moneymaker Summit to address these issues and give you strategies and tactics to get financial freedom, personal freedom, and control. Because if you don't manage and master your own money That's where you can be controlled by external forces. So I want to see you live at the Moneymaker Summit.
